Chapter 88
Ari P.O.V
"Ari, Kitten, we're here." Victor's voice said. I stirred, and my eyes fluttered open. I was curled up in the passenger seat of a jeep. I peered out of the wind screen and into the darkening surroundings. I saw a cosy looking cabin.
I blinked the sleep out of my eyes. The flight had tired me out more than normal. I yawned and stretched.
"You alright, Kitten?" Victor asked, from the drivers seat.
"Yeah. The flight just tired me out a bit more than normal. A good night's sleep, and tomorrow, I'll be back to normal." I said. Just then, my stomach rumbled. "Ah."
"I've had the cabin stocked with food. I'll make you something, and then we can go to bed."
I nodded. "Kay." I yawned again, before unfastening my seatbelt, and opening the door, before slipping out the car. I closed the door behind me, and heard Victor get out behind me. I felt dead on my feet. I swayed on the spot, the world spinning around me. I grabbed hold of the jeep's bonnet. "Why won't the world stop spinning?" I asked, clutching my head with my free hand. I closed my eyes tightly.
I felt Victor's arms around my waist, supporting me. "Arianwen? What's wrong?"
"So dizzy." I moaned, before my legs gave out, and darkness came over me.
No P.O.V
Victor picked Arianwen up gently, and cradled her to his chest. Something was wrong. She didn't just pass out for the sake of it. He carried her towards the cabin, and shifted her, so he could hold her in one arm, and take the key from his pocket with his free hand. Victor unlocked and opened the door, and entered the large living area. He carried his mate through the room, kicking the door closed behind him. Thankfully the bedroom door was open, allowing him easier access. Victor lay her down on the bed, and then drew the heavy curtains that were across the window, blocking any remaining natural light out of the room. He could still see well, though.
He undressed his small mate, and then pulled the covers over her. He got undressed himself, and then climbed in the other side of the bed. Victor wrapped his arms round her waist, and pulled her to his chest. He breathed in her scent. There was something slightly off with it, but it didn't seem bad. Not like an illness, or the presence of a drug of some sort, so that ruled them out. But what could it be? Victor frowned.
"Be alright Kitten." He said. "Don't be ill." Victor closed his eyes, and buried his face in Arianwen's hair. He fell into a light sleep, ready to wake should he need to.
Ari P.O.V
I woke up the next morning feeling so hungry, I felt sick. I moaned, and felt Victor stir behind me.
"Kitten?" He asked.
"I'm hungry Vic." I moaned.
"Are you alright?"
"Not if I don't eat."
"Alright. I'll go get you something to eat. Wait here."
"Just, bring me some bread while the other stuff's cooking. I need to eat something."
"Of course, Kitten." Victor said, leaning over to kiss my forehead, and then he got out of bed. When he left the room, I curled into a tight ball, clutching my stomach. I really needed something to eat.
"Kitten." I felt the bed dip, and I looked up. Victor was sat there, with two slices of bread. I grabbed them, and stuffed the first one in my mouth, chewed several times, before swallowing. Then, I did the same with the other piece.
"I'm still hungry, but it's better now." I said.
"Alright kitten. I'm going to go cook you something. Just stay here. I want you to take it easy. You collapsed last night. And your scent is off."
"In what way?" I asked.
"I don't know. It's not an illness, or any sort of drug. It's leaving me clueless. Anyway, we'll see how things go. Push comes to shove, there's always that doctor at Xaviers."
"Jean."
"That's the one. Right, now, I'm going to cook you breakfast. You stay here, and rest. I don't want you to collapse on me again." "Fine. Just please hurry with the food."
"I'll be as quick as I can." Victor promised, before he kissed me on the lips, and stood, before leaving the room once more. When the smell of cooking food reached my nose, my stomach growled. I moaned. I wanted to eat. Badly.
When Victor finally came back in, carrying a plate of food, and a mug, I scurried into a sitting position. Victor placed the mug on the bed side table, and handed me the plate. I placed the plate on my lap, and picked up the cutlery, before digging in. I ate ravenously, wolfing down the food on the plate. I felt Victor's hand trailing through my hair. I leant into his touch as I ate.
"How are you feeling now, Kitten?" Victor asked, when I'd finished.
"Much better. Full, at least." I said. I grabbed hold of the mug, and downed the tea that was in it.
"You didn't take long to eat, I'll give you that. How did you feel last night, before you passed out?"
"Hungry, tired and dizzy."
Victor nodded. "Well, the hunger's been sorted, are you tired?"
I shook my head.
"Dizzy?"
I shook my head again. "I'm fine now Vic. I just needed to rest. I don't know why, but the flight wore me out more than usual."
"Well, if you feel alright, then I'll go get the suit case, and we can have a shower."
"Is there a bath here?"
"Yes."
"Can we have a bath instead?"
"Of course, Kitten." Victor replied, smiling at me. "Bathroom's through there." Victor pointed to a door.
I hugged him, and Victor left the room once more. I got out of bed, and stretched, and then wandered to the bathroom to run a bath.
