Emily woke up, rubbed her eyes and yawned. She looked around and noticed Mia was sleeping on the other couch and the boys were on the floor with blankets over them and using cushions as pillows. She smiled a bit at them recalling the night before.
The yellow ranger had said they could return to their houses, assuring she would be fine, but they didn't want to leave her side. Nothing that Emily said convinced them to retire. Ignoring Emily's orders, Jayden had explained that Antonio couldn't come because of his trip, but he said he was very sorry.
She got up from the couch trying to make the less noise possible. Emily didn't want that they notice she had woken and that they wanted to go after her again. Although she appreciated her friends' preoccupation, the infinite questions every minute annoyed her.
She walked in tiptoe through the hall and entered into Serena's bedroom. The yellow ranger sat on the bed and looked around.
The last time she saw that room was full of life, now it wasn't. Even when she left her house to become a power ranger, she hoped to see her sister healthy and smiling one more time. But all that faith was gone. Anything she did, anything she said would not bring her sister back and that thought was making Emily miserable.
The only friend she grew up with, her enemy, her confident, her company; the person she loved with all her hatred was gone.
Forever.
It was an unrealistic reality. It wasn't fair.
She laid on bed taking Serena's pillow and put it close to her chest. Tears stared to flood her face and the pain was higher than anything. She felt empty and depressed. She was sad, despondent; Emily felt abandoned and no one could notice that. How did people expect her to live without Serena? The person who always helped her when she was sad or scared.
Her memories with her were… just that, memories.
She got up from the bed and went to the bathroom. She noticed her face was dirty and consumed by dry tears. It looked like she hadn't taken a shower in days.
Emily looked herself straight in the eyes on the mirror and sighed, letting the air take with it the pain and frustration stuck in her chest.
The yellow ranger couldn't take it. They would understand. They would be fine. After all, her friends were always stringer than she was.
She took the aspirins Mike had left on the washbasin and poured a few in her hand.
At first she hesitated realizing what would happen next but then the pain appeared again and there was nothing that could keep her on this world for another minute. Anyway, no one would notice she was gone, or at least that made sense for her.
Without thinking twice, she put them on her mouth and waited until they were consumed.
Antonio was resting in his room; body lying down on his soft bed, headphones in and volume up, until a knocked on the door was heard.
He growled at the noise and rolled his eyes. Antonio was in bad mood. His nightmares were killing him inside. That entire people dying, all the cries, all that suffer he left was still inside of him and was making him concerned.
That small talk with the waiter was still fresh in his head and had put him to think about it again. Also, the last news about Emily losing her sister was in his mind. It didn't surprise him all those situations woke him up early and put him to think.
He scratched the back of his neck and opened the door, surprised it was the same waiter he met the day before.
The waiter seemed ready for another day on the cruise, with his uniform settled and a combed hair.
"Good morning, sir" The waiter said happily.
"Morning, buddy" Antonio said still sleepy.
"I hope I didn't startle you."
"Nah. It's okay"
"Do you want something to eat?" The waiter asked then, standing at the door.
"Uh… yes. I guess I'd like a cereal." The gold ranger answered.
"In a minute" The waiter nodded and turned around, but when he was about to leave Antonio stopped him.
"Hey wait, wait up."
"Yes, sir?"
"Why all this attention? I mean, there's a lot of people on the ship, boat, call it however you want, so I'm not the only one."
"Sir?" the waiter seemed confused
"As long as I know this is not a hotel room or something. I thought I had to go for my own breakfast in the big room."
"You've got a Golden Ticket, so that's mean a V.I.P service" The waiter answered patiently. "It's our work to assistance you in all we can."
"Gold" Antonio whispered, smiling at the same time "So, are you going to bring my breakfast here?"
"Yes. Or just in case you don't want to, you can go to the dining room."
"Yes, I'll eat there."
"Ok, so I'll wait you there. Anything else?"
"No. No, thanks"
The waiter nodded and walked back through the hall. Antonio quickly did all he have to do on the morning and hurried down to eat his breakfast.
When he was eating his cereal, he remembered Kevin and how dedicated he was with his food. He chuckled.
Antonio was sitting on a table, with only five more people in the room. It looked like it was early.
When he finished his breakfast, the waiter came back with a helpful air.
"Do you want something else?"
"Yes, please uh… what's your name? You have been here since I arrived and I don't know yours. Antonio is mine."
"Nice to meet you Antonio, Mi name is Carlo." He made a reverence to him and smiled. It looked so rehearsed that Antonio just nodded.
"Deja de hacer eso. Stop it. I'm not a king or something like that; you can treat me like a friend."
"Ok, then." Carlo smirked. He was called by one of his coworkers and excused himself from Antonio.
The gold ranger got up from his chair at the same time his phone started to ring. He took it from his pocket and checked who it was.
"What's up, Jay?"
"Antonio, Emily is in the hospital"
"What? What happened?" The gold ranger frowned and rushed out of the room.
"She's in the ER."
"Is she fine?"
"I hope so."
"You know what? I'll return." He hung out and ran to his room. Things were getting messy and he couldn't be enjoying life while one of his friends (if not all) was in trouble.
Jayden, Kevin, Mia, Ji and Mike were in the waiting room.
Mia had called Ji and Jayden had called Antonio. The pink ranger was nervous and afraid and Kevin was hugging her. Ji was trying to calm down the green ranger and Jayden was waiting for news.
"I called Antonio. He said he's coming."
"No way. He's on a trip." Kevin looked up, concerned.
"It looks like he's worried about Emily." Jayden answered, staring at one of the nurses that passed. She may have news about his friend, but she didn't. "I can't do anything to stop him."
"He shouldn't be." Mike got up and gestured.
"Why you say that, Mike?" Ji asked him.
"Emily is very important to all of us." Kevin added
"Is she important to us? And what about us to her? What do we mean to her?" Mike raised his voice and the people walking by shot him a look. He didn't care, though.
"Mike, calm down" Ji placed a hand on his ranger but he shrugged it off.
"You know, I should leave!"
A nurse came to them and placed a finger across her lips indicating silence. Jayden apologized, took Mike by the arm and walked out to the hospital parking lot.
"What's wrong with you? She needs you, she needs us."
"Why did she do that?" Mike's anger grew, making him to shout. "Are we enough to her or what?"
The red ranger opened his mouth to talk but he didn't find the words.
