"So, she lost her memory?"

"No, Mike. She's just confused. Or at least that was what the doctor explained."

Jayden, Kevin, Antonio and Mike had arrived to the hospital. After Mia called Ji and then he called Jayden, immediately they went to the hospital. Mike never slept. He was just pretending to sleep because Kevin seemed very tired and he didn't want to cause any damage on his friend. So that's why he was pretending.

But when Kevin left the room and went down stairs, he got up and sat on the hall where he could hear his friends. As soon as Jayden said Emily had woken up, he hurried down, took the keys and forced his friends to get into to the car. Of course, Mike didn't drive but Jayden. In the way, Mike got a speech from Kevin about how important sleep was and how important to eat was, too. So they made a quick stop at one of the stores to the way of the hospital, and Antonio brought him a package of cookies and a juice. It wasn't the healthiest food but at least it was something.

They were in the waiting room and Mia was explaining what had happened. She was standing in the middle, her voice still worried.

"… but then she started to complain about her stomach and I called the doctor."

"And..?" Mike asked encouraging her to continue talking.

"He hasn't come yet from Emily's room. Maybe he's examining her." Mia let out a sigh and sat in one of the few sofas of the waiting room.

"But, is she fine?" Jayden asked. "I mean… nothing strange has come out from her room?"

Mia shook her head. She rested her head on the wall that was behind her and closed the eyes. "Only nurses and doctors."

Jayden breathed and nodded his head. He then took a seat too. "Where's Ji? I thought he was here. He called me and told me Emily had woken up."

"He's with Emily's parents. You know he's a little mad about what they did or want to do. He's trying to make sense on them. Something that I see almost… impossible"

Antonio was watching Mia and could saw the fatigue on her face. She had her eyes closed and her body was tense.

He approached with a bit of concern." Mia, do you feel well? You see a little tired. Maybe you need to rest."

The pink ranger shook her head "I'm fine Antonio. It's just I came very early on the morning and didn't eat breakfast."

Kevin raised an eyebrow "Mia, what are you saying? You need to eat all mornings. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I thought I had left that clear."

"Here we go again" Mike rolled his eyes, but this was a perfect time to avenge about how his friends made him eat. "But Kevin, why don't you go for something to eat? She needs it. Look, she's fragile."

Mia settled on her chair and frowned "I look better than you Mike. At least I took a shower this morning and you look like a homeless"

"But I ate breakfast" Mike stuck out his tongue.

"You guys stop" Kevin groaned. "I'll bring you something, Mia"

The blue ranger walked away when Antonio asked him if he could go with him. Kevin nodded. When they just turned around to the cafeteria the doctor was coming from Emily's room.

Mike rushed to him as Mia and Jayden did as well. Doctor Smith looked up and stopped walking before he bumped into Mike.

"Are you…"

"Yes. Yes, Emily's family, friends, acquaintances… what happened?" Mike snapped loudly.

"How is she?" Mia asked ignoring the fact she wasn't a relative.

Smith gave them a brief smile and sighed. He looked over to his report. "Your friend is stable. And with a little precaution she'll be fine to leave in a while. But there might be a minor problem with her."

Mia opened her mouth a little with a scared look. Jayden wrapped an arm around her, but the gesture didn't do anything to stop Mia to ask questions.

" Problem? What problem? Is it for her stomach? Or about her memory? how did she lost it if …"

Mike turned to her and covered her mouth with his hand. "Problem? What problem, doc?"'

"Emily is physically damage on her stomach. She took almost the maximum dose of pills she needed to die and even if we treat her with medicine, the possibilities of an ulcer are high…and that happened. She has an ulcer. It could be treatable with the right indications. But that's just a part. On the other hand, she didn't lose her memory but she's confused."

"Confused?" Mia bit her lip. Jayden gave her a squeeze indicating to be quiet.

The doctor continued. "She is suppressing something, maybe an action or a memory that got her take this way to solve it. She remembers everything but there's something she keeps asking. 'Why did I take those aspirins?' I don't know what to tell her so I guess you may know."

Mike, Mia and Jayden turned to see each other. They knew what was making Emily confused.

Mike cleared his throat. "Uh, Doctor Smith… uh, maybe- maybe we know what is happening. She lost her sister a few days ago and well, she wasn't there to say goodbye and it took her by surprised."

"Well, now I understand." The doctor said. "So, that's why she tried to commit suicide, I assume."

"Yes." Jayden confirmed it.

"I see. Now, we need to bring her back to the reality. It's not going to be easy but you need to tell her about that. Someone very close, what about her parents?"

"They aren't here right now and maybe they won't return." Mia said.

"Well…" The doctor turned to Mike. He gave him a look that made him nervous. He smirked. "It could be her boyfriend or a friend, maybe like you all."

The green ranger smiled awkwardly. "Thanks doc, we'll figure it out."

"But it'll be better as soon as possible, please. If it is possible today. Her recuperation will be faster that way."

Meanwhile, Kevin and Antonio were on the cafeteria getting Mia's breakfast. She hadn't eaten yet so Kevin wanted to make sure she would eat something. The line was a little long so while they get to the cashier, Kevin was talking with Antonio.

"Antonio, you left your trip."

"Yeah."

"But, why? That was a really good time, you had your golden ticket, and it was supposed to be vacations after all."

"That's right Kevin but I wouldn't be comfortable knowing Emily was bad. And you know, when I was in that trip I talked to someone who made me think some things."

"What things?" Kevin stepped forwards as the line advanced.

"A person told me that the power rangers made a mess in the city. That a lot of people died in the last battle, and now that everything is over, they disappeared leaving a chaos and that gives me nightmares."

Because they were in public and anyone could hear them, Antonio was speaking as if he was just one more civilian affected by the final war. He didn't want to risk letting all people know who the power rangers were.

Kevin got the hint since the beginning, though, and he could give his opinion about the matter. "I know, Antonio. It gives me nightmares as well, but we can't let that takes us. We're stronger than that and they did all they could. I'm sure they're satisfied with their work and there's no more about what they could do. And I'm sure they saved a lot of people."

"But, what about the others?"

"They saved a world, Antonio. Not everyone can get out unharmed. We all know that."

"Guess you're right. Thanks, buddy."

Antonio still felt uncomfortable and sad but he needed to understand that there was nothing wrong on what they had done. Kevin was right; they had saved an entire world and they gave their lives to train for it. Fortunately their plans had worked out and Master Xandred was defeated, as well as his army, and the people that had survived could enjoy a normal life.

Kevin bought a sandwich and a milkshake for Mia. He wanted something healthier but he assumed Mia would be fine with the sandwich. As he walked with Antonio to the waiting room he saw how her friends were discussing about something. The blue ranger gave Mia her snacks and glared to Mike and Jayden. They just shrugged their shoulders. Mia thanked him but didn't eat and instead turned to Mike.

"There's no way I am going to tell her."

"Mia, yes way."

She shook her head and frowned. Kevin and Antonio looked confused and the gold ranger asked. "What's going on?"

Jayden explained what was happening and what the doctor had said minutes ago. Neither Mike nor Mia or Jayden wanted to cause any pain on Emily remembering her that her sister had died. The first time she wanted die, now that she would remember again, her pain would be twice.

As Jayden explained everything, Kevin turned to Mike.

"So Mike, are you going to tell her?"

"No, Kevin. I won't"

"Yes, please Mike. You're her boyfriend, it's your duty." Mia cried.

"Mia, no! You're her best friend forever. You need to tell her."

"No, no Mike… well, you're right. She is my friend and I'm here for her, but I'm here for her in the bad and good times, you're going to be one who will make her sad and I'll be there to comfort her" The pink ranger said.

"That's no fair!" Mike cried, he turned to Kevin. " Kevin, you're my friend, you'll do this for me."

The blue ranger shook his head "Uh oh. I'm your friend Mike, the best, and I'll be here to comfort you when you feel miserable about the pain you will cause on Emily."

Mike was desperate. He didn't want to be the one breaking Emily's heart but at some point he knew he would be. He turned to Antonio, who whistled and looked over the window as if excusing himself from the situation. Mike then turned to Jayden and he shook his head in a serious form.

The decision was done.

"Ok," The green ranger muttered. "But you're going to…"

Someone's touched his back interrupting him and made him turned around. It was Doctor Smith.

"She wants to see you."

Mike sighed and dropped his shoulders. "Uh doc, what if you tell her…"

"I think right now it's a very good time to reveal it."

Mike gave a deep sighed and dragged his feet to Emily's room.
