When Mike walked into the room, he saw Emily sitting on her bed. She was covered with the blankets until her waist and smiled brightly when she saw Mike.

He smiled too. On the last few days he had been blaming himself about what had happened to Emily and swore he wouldn't forgive him if something bad happened to her. He had left the bottle of aspirins at the reach of everyone, and even a child could take it without problem, but unfortunately Mike didn't see the consequences of his action. By now, he realized it wasn't his fault but Emily's. He knew Emily preferred to be elsewhere without him.

At first it was painful but he knew she wasn't thinking in those moments and at the end of the day he did the right thing to save her life. He expected that she appreciated what he did for her, but assumed it had to be all in its time.

Now, he was more relaxed. The time his eyes met hers and could assure she was alive, he couldn't ask for anything else.

Emily invited him to sit with her and made room for him on the bed. Mike nodded and sat beside her. She hugged him tightly and the green ranger returned the hug. She felt so good between his arms and now he could tell everything was fine. He kissed her forehead.

The yellow ranger didn't have enough and kissed him in the lips.

"Mike, I missed you."

"You have no idea how much I missed you, Em" Mike responded staring at her eyes.

Emily smiled and lay back with him. She rested her head on his chest and Mike wrapped an arm around her. It was all a dream. He was thoroughly relieved now.

A few seconds of peace passed and the thought came to Mike.

You need to tell her

The green ranger nodded to himself and kissed Emily one more time. When they pulled apart, he squeezed her tightly. "How are you?"

"Fine, I guess…" Emily said in sigh. "My stomach's still hurting, like burning me, but Doctor Smith said if I take care of myself, I'll be fine."

Then she sat again on the bed, moving away from Mike. She looked him right into the eyes and let out heavy, sad sigh. "Mike.." She said

"Uhm?"

"There's something I still don't get. I'm here for a reason, right? I'm kind of sick, so… the doctor hasn't told me why. Neither Mia."

Mike gestured and bit his lip. He exactly understood what Emily was trying to say but he didn't want to precipitate. He pretended to look concerned and turned to Emily, sitting as well.

"What you don't get?"

Emily looked down at her hands and sighed again. "Why did I take those pills?"

The green ranger looked up to her as white as the yellow ranger's face. He cleared his throat, scratched the back of his neck and did everything he could think to make it easier… for him.

He wasn't sure how to tell her. What was the best way to not hurt her? But in every way he looked for, there was a lot of pain. So, he had to figure it out in that very moment. He took her hands and the courage, too.

"Emily, do you remember when we returned to your house?"

"Yes." She nodded her head, confused.

"Ok, so… do you remember when we saw your parents?"

This time there was no answer. She frowned and shook her head. "A-actually no…"

"Emily," Mike continued "when we saw your parents they told you something… and that's the reason why you took… well, actually tried to kill yourself." they weren't the best of words to say, but Mike was out of ideas.

Emily looked down, pulled her hands free and a tear rolled down her eye. Stupidly, she got up and walked to see over the window. Her cries were making echo through the room and that broke Mike's heart. He didn't know who was suffering the most.

After the agitated breathing and recalling that day, Emily turned to see Mike with a blank expression. "Mike… Serena was…" She shook her head and more tears rolled down "Please tell me that's a lie."

"Emily, I'd like to say that but I'm afraid that's impossible. Look, I'd rather be in your place and feel the way you're feeling but I can't, so I'm going to do everything to make you feel better. Like if you want to scream, cry, punch…do it to me. If moogers can't harm me with their hits, I'm pretty sure I'm resilient to yours."

By this time he had already gotten up from the bed and was near of Emily.

"Thanks, Mike" Emily nodded. She turned around to the window again and after a deep sigh she smiled at Mike. The green ranger nodded his head in support but when everything seemed fine, Emily let herself fall to the floor. Crying and miserable.

"Emily!"

Mike hurried to catch Emily on time. He did. He let himself fall with her and hugged her warmly, while he balanced his weight with hers.

"Come on Em, you're strong. You can do this."

"Why Mike?" She said between sobs, burying her face in his chest.

"Why, what?" Mike asked confused "Why am I saying this? Because it's true. You can handle this without mistakes and I'll…"

"No, I don't mean that…" Emily shook her head, calming her voice. "I mean, why are you still here? Practically I left you and I didn't care what you could feel if I died and… well yes. I left you"

Mike smiled. Emily knew her mistake and was regretting what she did. It was all he wanted. "Emily I guess, you know it. I love you so much and trust me I wouldn't ever leave you go."

He got up with Emily and held her in his arms; Mike kissed her and whispered in her ear. "Now you're my life, no matter what happens. I'll never leave you. I promise."
