Author's Note
I do not own Kim Possible.
So this is... A thing that I wrote. We'll see where it goes or if this story stands alone. I dunno.
I
When she was one, she was put in a crate between a girl with large blue eyes and pretty blue wings and a boy with narrow brown eyes and fluffy dark wings. They were too small to speak and shouted at when they cried, but sometimes they held hands through the bars and tapped on the floor to the subjects below. One day the boy started making funny noises and was taken away.
He never came back.
II
When she was two, they brought the next set of subjects. The first was a boy with white wings like the white walls, and they put him in the cage next to hers. The next two were all covered in fluffy red stuff, and they didn't last long. The boy didn't wake up one morning, and the girl never returned from testing.
The last was a girl with yellow eyes and yellow hair and yellow wings, and they put her on the other side of the blue wings girl who sometimes used her voice like the alarm.
Alarm, alarm.
They called her Alarm.
III
When she was three, Alarm gave her a name of her own. She called her Red, after her red wings which were losing their fluffy baby feathers.
The subjects that year didn't stay long before being taken away. She didn't remember their faces.
IV
When she was four, they named the boy with white wings Clang, because he liked to clang clang clang his cage bars, and the yellow girl Yellow, because she was all Yellow.
The new subjects that year had funny ears and sharp teeth. One boy coughed and coughed and coughed until he was taken away, but the two other boys, who looked just like each other, and the girl, who looked different, stayed.
V
When she was five, Alarm told her how one day she was going to escape her cage and bite bite bite the doctors until they slept and never woke up. That would be good. Red liked that idea so much her hands glowed orange and they had light through the night.
Two of the subjects that year, the girls, never came back one day, but the boys stayed.
VI
When she was six, they named the sharp teeth boys Biter and Kicker, and the girl Growl, because they needed names and they liked to do that to the doctors. The subjects that year didn't stay long, but sometimes she saw the girl in tests, so they were still in the building.
VII
When she was seven, she accidentally blew the door off her cage with her orange light.
All the alarms (alarm, alarm, alarm) rang, and she had never been outside the cage in this room before, so she sat outside Alarm's (alarm, alarm, alarm) cage until the doctors and the guards came. They called her bad and threw her in a dark maze test for hours and hours and hours, but she didn't know if she was bad because it was an accident. Alarm told her to do it again, but she didn't want to because she didn't like the maze.
They named the boys Summer and Winter, because they had stayed long enough to be called something.
VIII
When she was eight, all the new subjects were girls with black hair and green skin, like her pale orange, and they had different codes, TGS1-4, not S- numbers. One of them got slower and sicker until she was taken away, and another one exploded into green flames, but the other two stayed.
She wanted to know if she could have flames too, so she glowed and glowed and glowed until she blew up her cage, along with those around her. Yellow, Summer, Winter, and the green girls were trapped in theirs, so she tried again and it worked and they scrambled out. All the alarms (alarm, alarm, alarm) rang, and Alarm opened the door so she could go hunt down the doctors.
They separated in the hallway. Most stayed with Red, because she glowed and blew up the cages, but Clang, Growl, and Summer went with Alarm.
Only Growl returned.
Sometimes Red asked what happened to Alarm, but the doctors never answered and she always knew.
IX
When she was nine, she met Helios and Metis.
