Ruby woke up rubbing sleep from her eyes, she sat up and looked around. This isn't where I went to bed…..I think. Didn't I fall asleep on that guy's floor? Oh! I hope he was able to help that man, I'll have to check up on him. She was sitting on a rough bed in a wooden room. She got up and walked through one of the two doorways, it lead to what seemed like an interior balcony looking over a room filled with tables and a large open fire in the center of the room. This doesn't look like any town or building I've ever seen, and that man didn't know what grimm were. I'm really not on Remnant anymore, am I?

She walked back over to the bed and sat down for a moment before speaking to herself. "Well if all that actually happened then this should work, Menu." Suddenly there was a large blue screen in front of her.

Huh, that worked, that is… well, it just is I guess, so I really died, and I'm really not on remnant anymore. Huh, there's a new thing, and it's flashing. It probably works the same way as everything else. 'Notifications'

Congratulations you have completed the tutorial! You should now have a pretty good idea of how this works, but if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

By completing the tutorial you have gained a Level and a Perk Point! Spend them wisely! Or not, you'll get them all eventually anyway.

Well, that's nice I guess. She opened the next notification.

Congratulations! Your randomly selected world is the Elder Scrolls! More specifically the Skyrim branch. Go kill a dragon for me, or, y'know don't, I'm not your boss.

So that's what this place is called. Weird name, Skyrim. Looks like one more.

Aura Speed has leveled up twice and is now level 75

Aura Reserves has leveled up and is now level 93

Aura Strength has leveled up once and is now level 36

Huh, well that's good I guess. Now, what's this about a level up? I think I go to the unlockable skills for that right? 'Unlockable skills' The new window popped up. So, should I get the last Huntress one and master it, or try out one of those new master of movement perks that sound so cool? Who am I kidding, there's not even a real choice is there? Master Huntress, here I come! She quickly selected the Teammate[Member] skill and a new notification popped up, which she opened.

Congratulations! You have mastered the Huntress class and have gained an additional class slot and Perk Point!

I can get perk points by mastering classes? Nice. She went to look at the perks but heard someone walking towards her room and quickly closed all the windows.

"Hello?"

"Ah, you are awake! I thought I heard something." A woman came into the room. "How are you? You were quite the sight when that guard came in and dropped you off here."

She looked down at herself. "I'm alright I think, is that man I brought okay? He was in pretty bad shape."

"I thought you might ask about that, come on we can talk about that over breakfast."

Ruby followed her out of the room to what looked like a common room full of tables. "Thank you, but I don't have any money on me."

"You're on the house today."

"Oh, thank you."

"Don't mention it, that was my nephew you brought in yesterday." She went and grabbed two plates of food and sat down at a table gesturing for Ruby to do the same. Once they were both seated she asked "What happened up there?"

She spoke while starting her meal, which was some kind of bread and cheese she hadn't had before with a potato soup. "I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure, I wasn't there when he was hurt, but I can make a pretty good guess. I was out in the forest when I heard a roar, I climbed a tree to see what it was and saw a huge wyvern. I followed its path back to a pillar of smoke in the distance and decided to see if anyone needed help. When I got there it was mostly just bodies, most of them burned, but after a short while I found the man, your nephew I guess. I bandaged him up and asked him for directions to the nearest place that could heal him and he said to come here, so I did, the people in Riverwood said that there was a wizard here and that maybe he could help, so I asked for him when I got here. When I dropped him off, I maay have passed out so I don't really know what happened after that."

"A wyvern? Huh, I had heard whisperings of a dragon attack, are they similar?"

"A bit, I suppose it could have been a dragon, I didn't really see it for very long, but I could have sworn it only had two legs."

"Anyway, I got a bit of the rest of the story for you, after you ran through town, a few minutes later two guards came back out of the keep carrying you two, they took Svendsen to the temple and they fixed him up there, and they took you here. Apparently, Farangar has strongly requested that you do not bother him again, and that if you try to sleep on his floor again he will have you arrested. Don't mind him though, he's always like that to pretty much everyone."

"Farangar is the wizard and Svendsen is the guy I saved?" She asked, finishing off the soup.

"Yeah, he's the Court Wizard here, more of a researcher than anything else I think. As far as I know, he doesn't know any healing magic though, at least I've never heard of him healing anyone, which is why they took Svendsen to the temple, they know some healing magic over there."

She stood up from her chair. "Thank you for breakfast, I think I'm gonna go check on him now if that's alright?"

"Fine with me, tell him his Aunt Hulda told him to stop getting almost killed, this is the fourth time this season I've heard about him nearly dying to something or another. Oh, and if you're in need of food and lodging the Bannered Mare is open to ya, although if you could bring some firewood next time you stop by it would be a big help."

"Thank you again, and I'll be sure to." With that she left the building and started down a street before pausing when she realized she didn't have a clue where the temple was. She stopped someone walking by, "Excuse me, do you know where the temple is?"

"Yeah it's right down that way, big building with a tree out front, can't miss it." The man said, pointing down a street.

"Thanks!" She soon found the only building that 'you can't miss it.' applied to and agreed that it did stand out from the rest of the town. Going inside she paused looking around, right as she walked in there was a large open room with a shallow stone pool of water in the middle, the high ceiling supported by a dozen wooden pillars, and all the walls covered in painted carvings. There were three stone benches in the room, one of them had Svendson laying on it and as she walked over to him, a woman in a robe walked up to her.

"Welcome to the temple, who are you?"

She paused, "Ruby Rose, I brought that man into town yesterday and wanted to check on him."

"Ah, that was you? Well I won't keep you, he should be fine, Jennson healed him last night.

She finished her walk over to Svendsen as he sat up.

"Thank you, I would be dead without you, if you ever need anything, I will be glad to help."

"I'm just glad to help someone, BUT, there is something, on our run here we stopped in a village and they gave me some food in exchange for the story of what happened to you. Being as I don't know most of it, it would be great if you could tell your part of it."

"Yeah, I can do that, speaking of I should probably tell the Jarl about what happened in Helgen, he needs to know about the dragon."

"The Jarl is the guy in charge here?"

"Yeah there's a Jarl running each of the holds in Skyrim, the one here in Whiterun is Jarl Balgruuf, I can't speak for the rest, but from what I've seen he does a fine job here." He got up and started walking to the door.

"You mean now? Aren't you still hurt?"

"Well no, that Jennson healed me up pretty good, I feel just fine."

She looked over at the woman and she nodded, "He will be fine."

"Oh, alright, to the Jarl! Heh. Fun word." With that, she walked out the door, turned down a street and paused, "Uh, which way is the Jarl?"

Svendsen, following her out the door pointed up towards the large building she brought him to yesterday, "He should be right up there."

"Oh, alright then, that's where I bought you first yesterday." She walked up the path towards the keep, this time taking in her surroundings as she went, as they neared the top of the hill she was able to look out over the town walls. Seeing the mountains in the distance and the town surrounded by a large plain filled with rocks and the occasional building she paused looking out.

"Beautiful isn't it?"

"Yeah," She sighed, "It's… different than home, there isn't anywhere like this I know about there." Shortly after they reached the keep doors and were stopped by the guards again.

Svendsen stated they had news about what happened at Helgen and they were let into a large dining hall with two long tables on either side of a set of fire pits, and at the far end of the room there was a wooden throne with a man sitting almost lazily on it. As they walked up to it they were stopped by a gaunt looking woman in heavy armor. "What is your business with the Jarl?"

"We have news from Helgen."

"Alright, but the Jarl is a busy man, don't waste his time."

With that they finished walking down the hall, when they reached him the Jarl spoke up, "You have news of Helgen if I'm not mistaken?"

"Aye, a great beast straight out of legend, a dragon attacked killing nearly everyone and burning and destroying the whole town, that's how I was injured, if not for Ruby here, I'd be dead."

"So it's true, dragons have returned to Skyrim, we will need to look into this further, Whiteruns walls cannot stop a dragon."

The doors at the entrance of the hall opened up and a tall blonde man in armor walked in, as he approached the Jarl spoke to him "What is it you wish to speak about? As you can see I am busy."

The man nodded his head to the Jarl and then them. "I have news of Helgen, a dragon attacked."

"Thank you for informing me, it beat you here though, these two were also at Helgen. However, I am in need of aid and you might be more suited to it than these two. My court wizard, Farangar, has been researching dragons for some time now, I suppose you could say his project has recently gained some priority. If you wish to be of further aid then speak to him in his study." Pointing over to the room Ruby had entered yesterday. "Before any of you go speak to my housecarl Irileth, he gestured to the woman who had confronted them when they walked in, she will give each of you a reward for bringing this to my attention." Taking the dismissal he nodded and walked over to the indicated room.

He nodded back towards them. "Do either of you two have anything else to report while you're here?"

They looked at each other, "I heard that there is a wolf problem with them frequently attacking travelers here, why hasn't there been anything done about it?"

He sighed, "It's not that the wolves aren't on the list of things to deal with, it's that as far as problems go they are low and getting lower on the list, people are killed far less often by wolves than they are by bandits, rogue mages and necromancers, and now dragons are apparently a problem too. We simply do not have enough people to take care of everything, especially with Ulfric's little war going on."

Ruby frowned, "I could help with some of those problems, I don't know much about mages and necromancers, but I can take care of bandits and wolves, I killed a grimm wyvern once too, but those are a bit different than dragons I think."

"You're a fighter?"

"I'm a Huntress, fighting monsters is my job."

"Somehow I don't think we are thinking of the same kind of hunter. You say you fight monsters, where is your weapon then?"

"Oh, right here!" Quickly pulling a large red suitcase-like box off her back she pressed a button on the inside of the handle and it quickly unfolded into a giant seven foot long scythe.

Svendsen stepped back and the Jarl and Irileth looked startled, the Jarl calling out. "By the Nine, what kind of Dwemmer magic is that?"

"This is Crescent Rose, high impact sniper scythe," she replied, grinning.

"Where did you get that thing, and why do you need a weapon so…. large?

"I built her, and I probably don't most of the time, but my Uncle uses one and the size is very useful for killing larger grimm."

"You built that?" he asked incredulously.

"Of course, it's tradition for a Huntress to build her own weapon."

"Well, if you can use that thing without killing yourself then I might have a few jobs for you, and if you can complete them, I might have a few more that pay a bit better, if you're interested?"

She looked over to Svendsen,"I think so, I don't really have any money at the moment, and if I can get some while helping people out that would be good, but I have a few things to do first."

"Well, unless you have any other news, I think that's everything, thank you both for your assistance, please speak to Irileth on your way out."

Svendsen spoke up, "Happy to be of assistance my Jarl."

With that, they walked over to the side, Ruby collapsing her scythe, where Irileth was standing and she handed each of them a small pouch, before nodding at them and walking away.

AN: So, that took a bit longer than I expected it to, in large part due to I wanted too turn on skyrim too see what was different from in my memory, which was a very good idea because my memory sucks, but every every time I turned the computer on instead of clicking Skyrim somehow Factorio ended up on my screen. Anyway thanks to The Hat of the Hats for pointed out the slightly obvious in hindsight temple of Kyraneth, I had actually forgotten about it, although I never really intended for Farengar too heal Svendsen anyway and Ruby was definitely being kicked out regardless. Hope you enjoyed. please feel free to point out if I've done anything dumb, if it happens fast enough, I might even be able to fix it!
