Wakko woke up after a deep sleep through the night. He didn't remember having any more nightmares besides just the one. He hopped out of bed and walked into the living room.
"Good morning." Yakko said.
"Morning." Wakko said while scratching his cheek.
"Did you sleep good last night?" Yakko asked.
"Yeah, I did." Wakko said.
"Good. More importantly, did you have more nightmares after that one?" Yakko asked.
"Not that I remember, no." Wakko said.
"Glad to hear it." Yakko said with a smile.
"You know, if Dot were here, she'd be frustrated with us for interrupting her cutie sleep." Wakko said.
"She sure would. Actually, I know this sounds weird, but I'd like for her to hit me on the head with her mallet, just once." Yakko said.
"Why?" Wakko asked with a perplexed grin.
"I kinda miss when we used to beat the tar out of bad guys. Brings back good memories." Yakko said.
"That's true." Wakko said.
Changing the subject, Yakko asked, "So, ready to go down to the police station?"
"Uh, yeah, I guess. Can we at least eat breakfast first?" Wakko asked.
"Of course! I wouldn't go anywhere on an empty stomach." Yakko said.
"It's a shock anybody functions doing that." Wakko said.
Meanwhile, just outside the water tower, Jordan and Barbara pulled up to the lot. They were greeted by Ralph before passing through the entrance.
"Are you sure this is the right place?" Barbara asked.
"Yep. It said that this was the address on the flyer I read." Jordan said.
Jordan and Barbara got out of their rental car and climbed up the water tower. The former knocked on the door.
Inside the tower, hearing the knock, Yakko and Wakko looked at each other confusingly.
"Who's that?" Wakko asked.
"I don't know, but it better be good." Yakko said.
Yakko went over to the door and answered it. "Hello?"
"Hi, are you one of Dot Warner's older brothers?" Jordan asked.
"Um, yeah." Yakko said, raising an eyebrow.
"Then you must be Yakko. My name's Jordan Monroe and this is my mother, Barbara." Jordan said.
"Hi." Barbara said with a smile.
"Uh, hi, Jordan, Barbara. Not to be rude or anything, but why are you two here?" Yakko asked.
"We need to talk to you. We have some information about your sister and where she is." Jordan said.
Yakko's eyes lit up. "Really?! You do?! That's great! Come on in!"
"Thanks." Jordan said. He and Barbara stepped inside the water tower.
Noticing the mother-and-son duo, Wakko asked, "Who are you guys?"
"Wakko, this is Jordan and his mother, Barbara! They said they have information about Dot!" Yakko said excitedly.
Wakko's face turned around. "Oh my gosh! That's incredible! I'd knew something would turn up soon enough!"
Barbara giggled. "Well, we're trying our best here. Now, you boys might want to sit down for this."
"Do you mind if my mom and I sit with you on your couch?" Jordan asked.
"No, at all! Go right head." Yakko said welcomingly.
"Thank you." Barbara said. She and her son sat on the sofa, followed by the brothers.
"So, what information can you tell us about Dot?" Wakko asked.
"Well, firstly, I should state that there's both good news and bad news." Jordan said.
Yakko and Wakko gave looks of concern upon hearing those words.
"We'll start with the good news first. The good news is that your sister is alive." Barbara said.
Yakko and Wakko sighed with relief. "Thank goodness!" They said at the same time.
"But the bad news is, and you're going to freak out about this, she's been captured." Jordan said.
"CAPTURED?!" Yakko and Wakko yelled very spastic.
"Dot's been taken to this place called Fort Burbank. It's military complex where toons are held for God-knows-what. We read about it in the newspaper." Barbara said.
"Take a look for yourselves." Jordan, showing the paper.
Yakko read out loud a portion of an article while Wakko did silently.
"Newest arrivals at Fort Burbank include a little girl of an unknown species named Dot Warner, a dog named Newt, three pigeons named Bobby, Pesto, and Squit, two squirrels named Slappy and Skippy, and three humans by the names of Otto von Scratchansniff, Heloise Nerz a.k.a. Hello Nurse, and Thaddeus Plotz. Other captives include two lab mice named Pinky and the Brain, a toddler named Mindy and her dog Buttons, a cat named Rita, a dog named Runt, a chicken named Chicken Boo, and a humanoid skeleton named Mr. Skullhead."
Wakko put his hands on his face. "Oh my goodness..."
"They even have their pictures printed below the article." Barbara said.
Yakko set the paper down. "Unbelievable. I can't believe this is real."
"We're very sorry. This must be really difficult for you." Jordan said with sympathy.
"Yeah, it is." Wakko said with a hint of hostility.
"I mean, why would anyone want to run a military complex specifically made for toons? That just makes zero sense to me." Yakko said.
"According to the article, Fort Burbank is run by a man named Ivan Jacobson. Apparently, he created it because his wife was killed by a group of toons, and wants revenge on all toons who exist." Barbara said.
"That's pretty unethical and cruel of him. I mean, I'm sure his wife's been dead for a long time now. You'd think he'd be moved on already." Wakko said.
"Some people can hold grudges for a long time." Yakko said.
"That's true." Wakko said.
"My mom and I tried to go down to the F.B., but our GPS gave us the wrong address." Jordan said.
"What is the address anyway?" Yakko asked.
"2257 S Ft. Burbank Dr." Barbara responded.
"We have to go there now." Wakko said.
"Agreed." Yakko said.
"Hold on, I wouldn't try anything just yet. From what I've heard, Fort Burbank is a very dangerous place. There are guards that stand in front of the entrance and they won't let anyone in unless they work there. So there's a one-hundred percent chance you won't get in." Barbara said.
"Hey now, we're toons! We could get in anywhere if we wanted to!" Wakko said proudly.
"Yeah! We've handled all sorts of bad guys in the past alone, so we're prepared for this, too!" Yakko said proudly.
"If you're willing to risk getting hurt or possibly killed, then be my guest." Jordan said.
"Don't worry, toons never really get hurt. They just dust it off and move on." Wakko said.
"I bet they do. On a side note, I've never actually seen or met a toon in person before until now. So it's miraculous that I'm speaking with you two boys!" Barbara said, getting excited.
"We get that a lot." Yakko said with a smile.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, I've met Dot and a few of her friends a few days ago. All of them seemed really nice, some more than others." Jordan said.
"That's cool. Which of her friends did you meet?" Wakko asked.
"Newt, Bobby, Pesto, Squit, Slappy, and Skippy." Jordan said.
"Nice!" Yakko said.
"Hey, Jordan, where exactly was Dot when you met her?" Wakko asked.
"At the park." Jordan said.
"So she was there! She must've left before me and Wakko went there to look for." Yakko said.
"Just out of curiosity, why was Dot alone by herself at the park in the first place?" Barbara asked.
"She ran away." Wakko said.
"Why?" Jordan asked.
"Because she was mad at me for breaking her remote control helicopter." Wakko said.
"Why would you do that?" Barbara asked.
"I don't know, I wasn't thinking right and was acting like a lunatic." Wakko said.
"But now we've put that behind us and now we're on a mission looking for our sister. We were just about ready to go to the police station to see if they could help us, before you guys came." Yakko said.
"If you want, we could take you down to Fort Burbank and we all could rescue Dot and company together." Jordan said.
"That would be great, Jordan, thanks." Wakko said.
"But I'm warning you, it could get risky." Barbara said.
"We're willing to take that chance!" Yakko said.
"So we're going then?" Jordan asked.
"Yes!" Wakko said.
Yakko, Wakko, Jordan, and Barbara all left the water tower. They climbed down and got inside the rental car.
"This is a nice car you got." Yakko said.
"Thanks, although we're just renting it since my Porsche is with the tow company right now." Barbara said.
"How come?" Wakko asked.
"It ran out of gas and we were far from a gas station." Barbara said.
"That's unfortunate." Yakko said.
Barbara started up the car and drove off.
At Fort Burbank, the rest of the Animaniacs were brought in; Ralph, Minerva Mink, Flavio, Marita, the Mime, Katie Ka-Boom, and The Flame; much to their dismay.
"I see you've brought in the last group of toons, Pierre. Good work." Ivan said.
"Thank you, sir. I made sure I didn't miss any." Pierre said.
"Wow, toons really do come in all shapes and sizes. A freaking candle, now that's fascinating." Ivan said, impressed.
"Oh, how I wish I was with Thomas Jefferson right now." The Flame mused.
"Pierre, you know what to do." Ivan said.
"Right away, boss." Pierre said. He escorted Group #3 to their rooms rather aggressively this time.
"Hey! Don't be so rough, okay? Jeez!" Minerva complained.
"Sorry, I'm just doing my job." Pierre said apologetically.
Pierre walked back to his station and passed by Maya, who was standing there trying to get her father's attention.
"Dad!" Maya yelled, making a hand gesture.
Noticing his daughter, Ivan walked over to her. "Ah, welcome back. Decided to watch the fun, eh?" He was playful in his tone.
"I'm afraid you couldn't be more wrong. I can't bear to watch any of this." Maya said.
"You know, Maya, you've been acting very cynical lately, and I just can't imagine why." Ivan said.
"I'm only cynical around you." Maya said.
"I see. I gotta say, I miss the fun-loving, outgoing personality you used to have. What happened to that?" Ivan asked.
"I could ask the same about you." Maya said. She a point there.
"Touché." Ivan quipped.
"Not to sound like a broken record, but Mom's death changed you." Maya said.
"You're just paraphrasing what you said earlier when I came to visit you." Ivan said.
"I know I am! Look, if I can't get you to change your mind, then maybe no one can. I give up. I'm done with this bullshit." Maya said.
"You're right, Maya. No one can change my mind. Never ever." Ivan said.
"I should turn you in to the police. Have them deal with you." Maya said.
"Go ahead, see what happens. It won't be long before you regret that decision." Ivan said with his arms crossed.
Having enough, Maya shook her head and began walking away.
"Where are you going?" Ivan asked with a look of worry.
"Home. Don't be surprised I never speak to you again." Maya said.
That statement really pissed Ivan off. "You're not going anywhere, young lady!" He let out a whistle toward Pierre.
Pierre grabbed Maya by her arms. "What do you want me to do with her?"
"Take her to the holding area. I've seen enough for her for one day." Ivan said, scowling.
"You can't do this to me!" Maya pleaded.
"Shut up!" Pierre yelled, and escorted Maya away.
"I swear I'm losing my mind." Ivan muttered while scratching his forehead.
Although he might have been sarcastic, it was pretty easy to tell that Ivan WAS in fact losing his mind. He's lost it ever since Nancy's passing.
