Hello! I guess I should have announced on the Previous chapter that I am back. So, I really like when people make suggestions on what should happen next, what they liked or didn't like, and all that Jazz. Hope you enjoy the story. I am not sure of the ending, but it should be coming soon.

Thank you!

She walked through the alley today because streets were blocked off by officers. There was an identification check for any non-bender and bender who even looked like they were a part of an Equalist rally. Ammon's stunt had cemented his standing as someone with too much power. Everyone was scared; when there is fear panic is sure to follow.

After slipping between two close buildings she climbed the ladder down to the damp dwelling. Recently their food reserves have been low and it was her job to go out and find—rather—steal what she could. Blair was a natural pick-pocket while Flint wasn't. Her talent was the ability to blend into a crowd and find those easy targets or work as a distraction.

"Blair, I'm going to need you to hit the park…" those eyes startled her.

"Flint."

She swallowed, but her mouth was dry. The eyes followed her as she sunk to the ground. "What? How did you…?"

"I knew if we continued following the trail of the Equalist I would eventually find you. I was right. Hiding in the ground."

He was alone in the rarely used cell. His clothes didn't look too dirty so it couldn't have been more than a few hours he's been in his prison. Despite the bars, Flint felt her heart race. He always seemed to find her.

"Mako—"

"Don't! I should have turned you in to Lin instead of trying to take you in myself. You tricked my brother into trusting you in order to spy on us. What did you tell them? I'm sure Ammon used the information to his advantage." At his last words, Mako shot a flame towards her face. If Blair hadn't been doing her rounds, Flint would have gotten the full force of Mako's anger. Luckily she was able to pull Flint aside as the flame scorched the wall instead.

"Flint? Flint! Snap out of it. You were going to be rotisserie. Flint!" Blair dragged her far enough away from the cell. "Hey, y'know him?" Even though Mako almost fried her friend, he was still the dreamy probender and her curiosity was peaked.

"Um," Flint cleared her throat, "sort of. I mean, no. Not at all. I don't know what he was talking about."

"Well that one is a firecracker. It took four of us to bring him down here. Isn't he cute though? I mean, on the radio you never know how they look, but Mako is all that I've dreamed of. Too bad Ammon has requested him to be transported to the 'Big House'".

Mako was going to get his powers taken away or was going to be held hostage. Either way, he was a way to the Avatar. "When is he being transported?"

"Tomorrow morning. At least, that is what Bobby told me. Since this is top priority he could be transported anytime."

It was about an hour until sundown. Flint had that much time to find a way to get Mako out of here. Ammon might want the Avatar, but she knew Bolin was going to be a part of this. If she freed Mako then the Equalist would no long be allies. Her chances of getting her Parents back would be over.

Wasn't that her initial reason for even staying in Republic City? Flint took a deep breath to clear her head. "Blair, I'm really tired now."

They laughed before heading to their respective sleeping areas on the floor. Blair turned on the radio in order to keep tabs on the news. Flint slipped off back towards Mako's cell about an hour later. Blair had left to practice her Chi Blocking with Bobby.

Mako's cell was empty when she arrived. The masked Equalist informed her that he was in the more heavily armored cell below. "Why do you need to know?" His suspicion was routine. Good thing he was stupid or she would have had a harder time knocking him out. A couple of good punches had him snoring like a baby. She pulled his uniform over her clothes, making sure the goggles and scarf hid her features.

Flint counted the guards and cursed. Four well trained Blockers with weapons. Thinking quickly, she started screaming. "They're here! They're here! They need you! They need everyone." She was stopped by a burly guard.

"What happened?"

Without a second though she slapped him and yelled, "This isn't the time, man! They're here. Go! Go! Go!" To her relief it worked and he was running up the stairs with everyone else.

Less than ten minutes before they realized.

Mako was held behind a steel door with only a small rectangle as a window. The key was hanging on a nail near the door; she grabbed it and unlocked the door. It was heavy, but she pushed it open enough to have a flame wall almost burn her to a crisps. She jumped out the way in time, but was just as quickly pinned to the floor by Mako. He grabbed her by the front of the uniform, bringing her face close to his.

"What is this?"

"Mako, it's me. It's me." Flint pushed the goggle up.

"Same question." None of the malice out of his voice.

"I'm trying to get you out of here. If we don't go now, both of us are going to be locked up in that cell. I know I'm the last person you want as a roommate."

"I don't trust you. How do I know you aren't taking me to Ammon?"

Flint's general fear of Mako was clouded by frustration as she told him calmly, "Don't you think they would send more than me to take you to Ammon? Mako, trust me, just this once. I'm not who you think I am."

He reluctantly released her, "I still don't trust you."

They made it up the stairs easily. But when Mako heard the footsteps running towards them, he pulled Flint into a groove as they ran pass. As soon as the Equalist passed, she pushed away from him and continued down the hall.

Flint and Mako had reached his old cell. Three Equalist were waiting for them. Mako was quick, creating sizable fire balls and firing them. They were so concerned about getting out of the way Flint was able to knock two of them out while Mako finished off the last one. Mako nodded to her, "Good work."

She didn't have time to appreciate the compliment.

The secret entrance she had traveled down was close to this area. The ladder and exit were narrow, so only one person could go at a time. Judging by the chaos she could hear from each hall, they need to go now. "Mako, up and to the right."

Mako went first with Flint on his heels. When he was between the buildings, he offered his hand to her. She didn't have time to be surprised by the gesture because she heard her name. Blair's voice was disbelieving and it hurt her to take Mako's hand. She had given up her friend and possibly her parents to save Bolin. "Go, Mako. Just run. I know a place we will be safe until the morning."

The night was really cold.
