"Happy Birthday!" The whole gang cried out in celebration, everyone from all the inner and outer Senshi, and her parents were there to celebrate Chibi-Usa's first birthday. Well and she supposed her 20th Birthday, but surviving Chibi-Usa's first year of life was definitely a reason to celebrate. Her daughter had refused to sleep, was up all night, and only ever had 40-45 minute cap naps during the day. She never understood why people used to say she could sleep like a baby, she had always slept great, babies on the other hand do not. Finally, at a year Chibi-Usa had started sleeping during the night (well most nights) and even though she was up at the crack of dawn, a few hours of uninterrupted sleep was heaven to both her and Mamo. Even with the sleep deprivation, self-doubt, and countless things to worry about over the last year Usagi wouldn't change a thing. Both she and Mamo learned to be parents together, helping each other and giving one another breaks even though Mamoru was still in school and working full time. He very much wanted to be hands-on, just because Usagi was home didn't mean that he was useless. Those moments when he would get up to change the baby and bring her back to Usagi's chest so she could feed her, even though he had to get up in only a few hours to work were the moments when Usagi knew without a doubt she could love this man for eternity. Yes, he had always doated on her, but doating on both her and their daughter at the same time brought her so much joy, she couldn't even remember why she used to be jealous of Chibi-Usa all those years back. She supposed it had to do with being a young insecure teenager, but looking back on it, she loved how even then he would do anything for Chibi-Usa because she was their daughter and the proof of their love.
"My dear Usagi Happy Birthday! 20, wow! I think the last two years have turned you into a wonderful young woman. I must say I was a little worried about you when you were a young teenager, but I never did tell you I was the same way at your age. When I married and had you, I matured and loved my family exactly like you. You have made me so proud, and I know Chibi-Usa will make you proud. I am so happy to be a Grandma, please have an entire hockey team of children!" Ikuko laughed and hugged her daughter.
"Mom I am not so sure it will work out that way" Usagi somewhat whispered into her mom while she hugged her tight.
"What's that dear?" Ikuko asked.
"Oh, nothing." Usagi was so sure she knew how her future would go, and Setsuna had told her before she was sure she and Mamo only ever would have one child. That being said she wasn't supposed to have Chibi-Usa until the 30th century. Maybe things had changed, maybe they could have more children? She still remembered vaguely talking to her future self, and how she guaranteed she would still be queen. But when, and how? How much would change from what she understood of her future until it came to fruition? Usagi never really put much thought into it when she was younger, but she desperately did yearn to have a big family, and she knew that Mamo did too, even if he would never vocalize it. Maybe they would get a chance after all.
Just then her husband walked up carrying their wiggling one year old, who couldn't quite walk, but still wanted to be free at all times, and kissed Ikuko on her cheek.
"Thanks for coming Mom, your help with Chibi-Usa is always appreciated". Mamoru told her mom, and it was true. Her mother had been a huge help to the young couple with tips and tricks, and to let them escape for alone time, which usually resulted in them just napping.
"Anytime son. I was going to suggest tomorrow if you would like to take your wife for dinner and a movie to celebrate her birthday I will gladly come over and watch the little darling" Ikuko said following by cooing sounds and tickles that Chibi-Usa just gobbled up with bounces in her dad's arms as she reached for Ikuko that sent her pink curls everywhere. Mamoru handed the little girl over, while Ikuko still showered her with affection.
"I think I will take you up on that, Usako and I could use a night out," Mamoru said and kissed the top of Usagi's head, pulling her close.
Usagi smiled, this was the life she always dreamed about and always wanted. It was truly perfect, and she didn't think anything could ruin it.

It was cold and dank, smelling of rotting food, and coated in despair. She hated this place with a passion, hated the two that put her here. Most of all she hated how the stupid perky blonde was still alive and well with a baby in toe. A baby that should have been hers. How could Mamoru do this to her? She vowed then, that if she couldn't have him, no one could.
She wasn't sure what happened next, maybe she willed this energy into existence? She was teleported to what she could only describe as another dimension. It was dark, and void of any life. Or so she thought. Until a disembodied voice spoke to her.
"You know, I also once wanted his love. I even tried to steal it from him. It would have worked if that meddling moon princess had never been born. I have tried to end her life many times, but between her guardians and his desire to save her, I have never been awarded such luck. I can no longer fight her, but I may be able to asset you in finally disposing of her once and for all".
"Who are you, and what do you mean moon princess and guardians?"
"Listen Akane, the world is not what you think it is, that girl you know as Usagi, holds an enormous amount of power and the ability to control the universe. I believe she has bewitched you beloved Mamoru. Do you want to save him, and have him for yourself?" the voice asked her.
"I knew it! I knew he cared for me; it is all her fault. No wonder why he appeared to fall in love with a child. Yes, I want to save him, but how, and again who are you? Akane responded to the voice.
"Very well, I will bestow on you great power, I can no longer use it, but I will give it to you, and you will stop her, and take her crystal, and Mamoru will be yours. I just ask that you obey me, or I will take it all away, do you understand?" Akane nodded and told the voice yes.
"My name is Beryl, and I am the true ruler of this Universe, and with your help, I will rise again. You will have your precious love, but the crystal is mine, understood" Beryl demanded of her.
"Yes, Mamoru will be fine, and the crystal will the yours" Akane smiled widely into the abyss. Looks like she would get what she wanted after all.

My plan all along was to end this here and continue this as a series. Glad to know that this is what others were thinking. I hope you have enjoyed this story. I cannot wait to continue this as a series, and I hope you look forward to it as well.
I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to PM me and write reviews for this story. Writing romantic scenes is definitely hard, but it is my favourite genre to read, and I wanted to make a real go at it. I hope that it was at least decent.
