Hey, guys!
So, this story popped into my head the other night and wouldn't leave me alone.
This multichapter story is both for and dedicated to aliqueen16.
I have only watched to episode 11 and that was during the middle of last year, so... I might get some things wrong, lol. (I'll probably get things wrong, lol.)
Also, a real quick TRIGGER WARNING for kidnapping and torture.
I hope you enjoy!
Chapter One.
Jon ran faster than he knew he should. He knew he should pace himself and go slower so he didn't run out of breath on the way back, but he didn't want to.
The move to Smallville Kansas had been sudden, unexpected, and completely life changing. In a bad way.
His life had been turned upside down. In the span of a few weeks, he had lost his friends, his girlfriend, became a social outcast at his new school, and found out that his parents had been lying to him for years. Oh! And he had broken his arm. And things had just been getting worse from there.
Jon stopped for a second to catch his breath. He technically wasn't supposed to be outside anymore. The town was fairly safe now that Edge had been taken care of, but his parents didn't want him outside past dark since he still didn't know the layout well. And while he had left before the sun was down, it wasn't up anymore.
He was gonna be in so much trouble when he got home…
He sat down on the side of the road and sighed. He knew that he needed to be heading towards the house, but he also didn't want to be there right now.
Since moving to Smallville, it was like his family didn't have any time for him. Even small things like a hello and a goodbye, or even a hug had been forgotten.
It wasn't that way for Jordan though. Ever since he had gotten his powers…
No. Jon wouldn't blame Jordan for it. It wasn't Jordan's fault. None of it was.
He stood up and began to walk towards the house. He refused to call it anything different. It wasn't his home. His home was in Metropolis. Where his old friends were.
The roads were emptier than normal. Not that Jon really cared, but it did make walking home easier. He didn't have to worry about pickup trucks hitting him.
He didn't think anything of it when the road lit up from a set of headlights in the distance. Nor did he think anything of it when the car slowed down when it reached him.
Suddenly though, the car pulled over and the driver jumped out. A tall person that was mostly obscured by the shadows of the night and the brightness of the headlights.
Before Jon had a chance to react, he was grabbed from behind and a thick cloth was pushed against his face.
Jon tried to hold his breath, he tried to kick and writhe out of the man's grip, but he couldn't.
After a moment, Jon couldn't hold his breath any longer and his world slowly faded to black.
Clark sat with Lois at the dining room table, every once in a while, he would glance at the clock, then back to his wife.
Jon was late. He was supposed to be home from his run over an hour ago.
He looked down at the cup of lukewarm coffee in his hands. He didn't know what to do anymore. This wasn't like Jon, but then again… Jon hadn't been like himself since they moved to Smallville.
"What are you thinking?" Lois asked as she reached over and gently placed her hand on his.
Clark sighed, then took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He placed the glasses beside his cup of coffee. His kids knew his secret. There was really no reason to wear them around the house anymore if he was being honest.
"Jon should be back by now…" Clark said, even though he didn't really have to say it. They both knew it.
Lois nodded, then squeezed his hand. "Yeah."
Clark sighed again. "I just don't get what's going on with him, Lois," he told her. "Ever since we moved to Smallville, he's been completely different. He isn't like this."
Lois chewed on her bottom lip for a moment. "I know."
Clark looked up as Jordan began to walk down the stairs. He smiled when Jordan rounded the stairwell and popped his head into the kitchen.
"Hey, is Jon home yet?" He asked. He was already ready for bed, but Clark couldn't help but realize just how small and young his son looked in this moment. It reminded him of when the twins had been toddlers and refused to go to sleep without the other one. He couldn't believe that they were highschoolers now. Where had all of that time gone?
"Not yet, bud." Clark said, then he thought of something. "Hey, did he mention staying with anybody else overnight or any parties?"
Jordan shook his head. "No," he told him as he sat down. "And I was just talking to Sarah. He isn't there and she didn't mention anything either."
"Why don't you try to listen for him?" Lois suggested as she leaned forward.
Jordan frowned. "He doesn't like being spied on," he reminded them slowly.
"I know, bud," Clark said. "But… It's been over an hour since he was supposed to be home and we have no idea where he is."
"True…" He sighed.
"Do it," Lois said as she squeezed Clark's hand.
Clark nodded, then closed his eyes and began to listen.
The world was such a loud place. Cars zooming by, planes roaring overhead, machines chugging, people talking, phones ringing…
Then he heard it.
"Superman."
Clark frowned, then tried to focus in on the voice. All of the other sounds of the world made his ears burn and his head throb, but he had to hone in on this one voice.
Finally, he got it.
"Superman, I know you can hear me," it said.
The voice was definitely male, but weirdly, Clark couldn't figure out where it was coming from. He couldn't pin the location no matter how hard he tried.
After a moment, the voice spoke again.
"I have your son."
"Clark?" Lois asked. "What is it?"
Clark looked over at Lois. His heart began to beat faster, his stomach churned with anxiety, and a lump was beginning to settle in his throat. How could he have let this happen?
"Jon…" He said. "Somebody has him."
"What?" Lois and Jordan both asked, their voices and tone in equal amounts of panic.
"He's been kidnapped."
Jon woke up with a headache. It pounded behind his eyes and deep into his brain.
When he raised his arms to rub his eyes, it caught part of the way there. His arms were chained in place.
Suddenly, what had happened to him flooded back into his head. Someone had attacked him.
"Interesting."
Jon looked up and over to where he had heard the voice.
This was the guy who had kidnapped him. He was tall and muscular, definitely not the kind of guy Jon would want to get into a fight with.
"Who are you?" Jon asked. "What am I doing here? I don't understand."
The man chuckled, then pushed his brown hair away from his eyes. "Don't play innocent with me, Jonathan Kent," he said. "You think I don't know your connection with Superman?
Jon swallowed. So that's what this was about. "I don't know what you're talking about." He lied, though even he could tell that it was the weakest lie he had ever told.
"Of course you don't," the man said, then walked over to Jon and crouched in front of him. He seemed to inspect Jon for a second. "You even look Kryptonian."
This time Jon kept quiet. This guy really did know. This guy knew the secret. Was this what his dad meant when he said that knowing the secret would be dangerous?
After a moment though, Jon couldn't hold it in anymore. His heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest, and he also felt like he was going to be sick from the anxiety. "Who are you?" He asked. "What do you want from me?"
The man smiled and leaned in closer. Jon could feel the man's hot breath on his face and neck. "I'm Jex-Selor," he said. "And I'm going to kill Superman."
There's the first chapter! I hope you all enjoyed! Please, follow, fave, and review! I would love to know what you thought!
