Murata VS Romance - Chapter 1
"Thanks for helping me study! You´re the best friend I ever had!" said Ozaki with a big smile, as she waved at Murata and left the classroom
"F-friend… again…" mumbled Murata with a defeated expression as he waved at her
Murata was a student at Kimetsu Academy. He was an average guy with one goal…
Find himself a girlfriend.
"Every time… every time… friend…" he mumbled as he covered his face with his hands
So far, he had no luck. Every time he tried to find himself a girlfriend, he ended up making a friend instead. Annoyed, he left his classroom and was about to head home. He stayed after school with Ozaki, his classmate, and helped her study. Besides helping her study, he also though they could talk and become close, but he failed once again.
"I give up…" he murmured as he walked through the halls, but something caught his attention
A guy was sitting on a bench with a small string in his hands, surrounded by girls.
"Rui! That's awesome!
"Where did you learn to do that?"
"AHHH! Rui! You're so cute! P-please, go out with me!"
That guy was Rui. He was a student from a different class and unlike Murata, he was the center of attention. Almost every girl on the academy knew him and found him cute.
"Lucky guy…" though Murata
"Disgusting… " said Zenitsu with a disgusted expression, as he stood next to Murata
"AHHH! WHEN DID YOU GET HERE!?" jumped Murata as he saw Zenitsu standing next to him
"Huh? I was here all the time. You just walked past me…" explained Zenitsu
"Ah… sorry…" replied Murata, and looked at Rui again
"Look at that little bastard… having all the girls follow him… and not me… disgusting…" Zenitsu continued as he gave Rui a death stare
"Why do all the girls follow him and want him as their boyfriend… and not us…" added Murata
"If only I knew that…" added Zenitsu
Murata was about to leave and go home, but an idea popped into his mind.
"Wait! Why… why don't I just ask him?" he thought to himself as he glanced at Rui again
A couple of minutes later, Rui was leaving the academy. He said goodbye to all the girls that followed him and was about to head home, but he was stopped.
"H-hello! C-can I talk to you for a few minutes?" asked Murata with a smile, to which Rui raised an eyebrow
Sitting on a bench in front of the academy, the two talked.
"Thank you for talking with me. I'm Murata and I there's something I wanted to ask you." said Murata
"I'm Rui… What do you want to ask me?" he asked
"W-well… I saw you surrounded by a lot of girls… and I wanted to ask you, if you had any advice?" Murata said
"Advice? Advice for what?" Rui asked
"You know… being popular with the girls? I´m trying to find a girlfriend… but so far… I had no luck. So I thought… maybe… you could give me some advice." Murata explained
"I don't know why you ask me… I don't have a girlfriend." said Rui
"B-but all the girls find you cute! They want to have you as their boyfriend! Aren't you interested in having a girlfriend?" Murata asked surprised
"No." Rui replied with a blank expression
"Oh…" Murata said with a sad tone
"I'm sorry, I can't help you. I don't do anything special. Girls just follow me…" Rui explained
"N-no problem! Thank you for your time!" Murata said with a small smile and got up
"But…" said Rui, which caught Murata´s attention
"I know someone who can help you…" he added
"REALLY!? WHO!?" Murata asked eagerly
"Are you free after school tomorrow?" Rui asked
The next day, Murata was waiting at the same spot after school. He was eagerly expecting Rui and his friend.
"This is going to be great! I´m sure the guy Rui introduces me to can help me!" Murata though as he looked around, trying to find Rui
"Ah there he is! And… huh?" Murata´s smile suddenly dropped as he saw Rui walking towards him with someone unexpected
"Hello. We´re here." said Rui
"H-hello?" Murata replied confused as he saw Rui and the person next to him
"This… is my sister. She's a girl." said Rui
"Ugh… hello. My name is Ane." said the girl next to Rui, annoyed
Next to Rui was a girl. She had the same white skin color as Rui and the same red dots on her face. She also had white hair and 2 pigtails. She was also taller than Rui.
"H-hi? Rui!? You brought… your sister?! Why?!" asked Murata confused
"Why? You said you wanted some advice… She can give you advice." Rui explained as he nodded at her
"Advice? About what?" Ane asked confused
"Finding a girlfriend." Rui replied
"WHAT!?" Ane shouted with a shocked expression
"You're a girl… I'm sure you can give him some good advice." Rui continued
Both Ane and Murata looked at each other and were speechless.
"Anyway… I leave you two to it. I´m going home." Rui said as he turned around and left
Both Ane and Murata were left standing speechless. After a few seconds, Murata spoke up.
"That idiot… I'm… so, so sorry! I didn't know he was going to bring his sister!" Murata explained
"Ugh… that little bastard… he's going to pay for this…" Ane murmured to herself
"A-anyway! It was nice meeting you!" said Murata as he tried to get out of this awkward situation
Ane sighned and spoke up.
"Wait… I´m already here… so let's get this over with." Ane said annoyed
"Huh?" Murata asked confused
"You said you want some advice… about… you know… finding a girlfriend?" said Ane as she looked away
"For real!? You help me?" Murata asked
"Yeah… let's sit down…" said Ane as she pointed at the bench
This was unexpected. Murata thought that Rui would introduce him to some guy who knew all the tricks, but instead, he got introduced to his sister. Now, the two were sitting on the bench together and Ane spoke up.
"So… you want to find a girlfriend?"
"Yes! But so far… every girl just became my friend…" Murata explained
"And did you ask any of them to become your girlfriend?" Ane asked
"Huh? N-no…" he replied defeated
"Tsk… how are they supposed to know? Why didn't you just ask them?" Ane asked
"Well… I didn't find the courage… or the right time…" Murata continued
Ane was just looking at him with a plain expression.
"Every time… they just… GULP* f-friendzone me…" he continued
Ane thought a bit.
"Is there anything… cool about you?" Ane asked
"Ugh!" said Murata, as he was being destroyed by those words
"You seem like a plain guy… No wonder you get yourself friendzoned." Ane continued
"UGH!" said Murata again, as he was being destroyed again
"Come on, there's gotta be something. Music? Sports?" Ane said
"W-well… I'm the head of the soccer club…" Murata
"Really? That's… pretty cool actually." Ane said surprised
"You think so?" Murata asked surprised
"Of course. If any girl asks you about your free time, tell her that." Ane said
"W-will do! Thanks!" Murata replied with a smile
Ane nodded, but noticed, that his smile left again.
"What is it?" Ane asked
"What you said before… about asking them… I don't feel… like I have the courage to do that…" Murata said with a sad tone
Ane looked at him and though about it.
"Let's do a test run… ask me out." she said with a plain expression
"…say again?" Murata said as he starred at her
"Pretend like you want to ask me out. Come on, do it. I will tell you what you did good and what you did wrong." Ane explained
Murata thought for a second, but then nodded and faced her.
"Ehm… Ane?" he said
"Yes?" she replied with a casual tone
"D-do you… w-well… are you… free… after school? M-maybe… we could… go somewhere… together?" he said
Ane just looked at him with an annoyed expression.
"Wow. For real?" she said
"What is it?" Murata asked confused
"Dude… that was awkward. Can you say that in one single sentence without stuttering?" she asked
"Y-yes… I can…" Murata replied
"Alright. Do it again." Ane said
Murata faced Ane again and spoke.
"Ane?"
"Yes?" she replied, same as last time
"Are you free tomorrow after school? How about… we go somewhere together?" he said, this time, with way more determination and without stuttering
Ane just smiled and nodded, as she was happy with the results… until she heard another voice.
"AH! SO CUTE! SOMEBODY ASKED MY CUTE LITTLE FRIEND OUT ON A DATE!" said a girl, which was standing in front of them
Both of them slowly turned their heads and saw a girl with a big smile and a butterfly hairpin standing in front of them.
It was Shinobu Kocho.
"Y-you…" mumbled Ane with her jaw open
"What?! NONONONO! YOU MISSUNDERSTOOD! THIS WAS JUST A TEST!" shouted Murata as he tried to explain the situation
"Don't worry guys! Your secret is safe with me!" said Shinobu as she waved at the two and left
Murata peaked over to Ane, whose eye just twitched.
"I'm really sorry…" Murata said with an embarrassed voice, as he covered his face with his hands
"My brother… and that girl… they are both dead…" said Ane, as she thought about all the things she was going to do to them…
