A/N: Same format as last time. I rewrote a few scenes from the finale, then added a few of my own. Also, I want to thank the people who have bookmarked this story and added it to their favorites.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars.
Tala was sleeping somewhat peacefully until the ship shook suddenly. She was briefly confused, then remembered that they were being chased by the Empire. But they should have escaped by now, which meant that something must have gone wrong. She tried to sit up and instantly regretted it, a sudden stab of pain reminding her that she had been shot. She turned her attention to the rest of the ship's passengers. Roken walked in, "Hyperdrive's almost ready, move all power to the rear shields. We'll head for Tessen, get you out from there." he told everyone. There was nothing but quiet murmuring for awhile and Tala allowed her mind to wander. Her thoughts were interrupted by Leia yelling at Obi-Wan, "No! No way! You can't just leave me here!" she shouted. Whatever Obi-Wan said was to quiet for Tala to hear, but it certainly didn't seem to please Leia, "I'm not letting you!" she shouted, "Leia, please." Obi-Wan said, trying to calm the girl. "Wait, what happened to all of us staying together?" a woman asked, "Roken needs more time to fix the ship. This will give him that time," Obi-Wan explained, "You've spent ten years protecting the Jedi, this is my chance to return that favor." "But we're so close." Roken said. "Roken, you know this plan makes sense." Obi-Wan said, trying to reason with him. "No, we need you!" Sully said. "It'll buy you the time you need. You must get these people out of here. You are all the future," Obi-Wan said, then turned to Leia, "You are the future. You're what needs to survive." There was a mere moment of silence, then Leia spoke, "No." she turned and stormed away. "Leia." Obi-Wan said, he started to go after her but Haja stopped him. Tala watched as they spoke quietly for a moment, then Obi-Wan walked over to her. "You're going to face him, aren't you?" Tala asked, though she already knew the answer. "I have to." Obi-Wan said. Tala sighed, "Be careful, and give this to Leia before you go." she reached over, grabbed her blaster, and gave Obi-Wan the holster. Obi-Wan didn't ask why, he just nodded then started to walk away. Tala caught his hand, "Ben, may the Force be with you." she said. Obi-Wan smiled slightly and gently squeezed her hand, "Thank you." he said, then he left.
Obi-Wan found Leia talking to Haja. Haja stood up and walked over to him, "I talked to her," he said, "You're welcome." then he walked away. "You said you'd take me home." Leia said. "I wish I could, Leia. Really, I do. Here," Obi-Wan said, kneeling down to her level and handing her the holster, "Tala asked me to give this to you, she wants you to have it." "It's empty." Leia stated. "She's not going to give you a blaster, Leia. You're only ten years old," Obi-Wan said, then he sighed, "But you won't be forever." Leia looked up from the holster, "Come back, please." "I promise." Obi-Wan said, though it was a promise he knew he might not be able to keep.
Leia sat with Tala, unable to keep her mind off of Obi-Wan. Tala put a hand on her shoulder, "He's going to be okay, Leia." she said. Suddenly, the ship lurched and the hyperdrive roared to life. A moment later, all that could be seen out the windows was the blue swirl of hyperspace. The journey to Tessen felt long, but eventually, they arrived. They landed and everyone began to make their way off the transport, Tala and Leia were waiting for the crowd to thin a little. Suddenly, Tala felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. "Tala, what's wrong?" Leia asked, she very carefully pulled Tala's shirt back, just enough to see the bandages that were wrapped around her wound, "Haja!" she shouted. Haja hurried over, "What is it Leia?" he asked, then he saw what she saw. Blood, beginning to seep through the bandages. "Oh, that's not good," Haja said, "Uh, Roken! Tala's kind of bleeding!" "Kind of bleeding?! She can't be kind of bleeding, she either is or she isn't." Roken shouted. "She is definitely bleeding!" Haja shouted back. Roken hurried over, "She needs help." he said, looking at Tala. "Help? What kind of help? We clearly don't have the equipment to help her." Haja said. Before he and Roken could start arguing, Leia spoke up, "We need to go to Alderaan." she said. Both Haja and Roken looked at her. "We can get help for her there," Leia said, then she turned to Haja, "You promised to take me home anyway." Haja nodded, "She's right, Tala has the best chance of survival in a real medcenter." he said. "Then go, it was nice to meet you princess." Roken said, then he walked off the transport. Haja turned to Leia, "Let's get you home."
The trip to Alderaan seemed to take to long, but once they arrived and got clearance to land it was all worth it. Leia hurried off the ship and into her parents arms. Then she pulled back, turning to the transport just as Haja came down the steps with Tala unconscious in his arms. "She needs help." Leia said. They all went to the palace Medcenter, where Tala was left in the care of the medical staff. Bail turned to Haja, "Thank you, for bringing our daughter home." he said. "Obi-Wan wanted to come himself, but he drew the Empire away from us so we could escape. All I did after that was keep a promise," Haja said, "The longer I stay here, the more danger we're all in, but can I leave Tala here with you?" Bail nodded, "Of course. We'll take good care of her." "Goodbye, princess." Haja said, turning to Leia and executing a small bow. Leia giggled and curtsied in response, "Goodbye Haja." she said.
Obi-Wan had already spoken to Bail via comlink, he knew Leia was safe, but he just had to see for himself. And return a certain little droid. He stepped off the ship, Lola floating along behind him. "Lola!" Leia exclaimed, running over to her droid. "Who am I to separate a young lady from her droid?" Obi-Wan asked, then he walked over to Breha and Bail, they both started thanking him. "We can never repay you." Bail said, Obi-Wan looked at Leia, "Well, she has already done that." he said. "I fear for her future. The Empire grows stronger, and bolder." Bail stated. "Well," Obi-Wan said, "If you ever need my help again, you know where to find me." "Let's hope that day never comes." Bail said. Obi-Wan nodded in agreement, then walked over to Leia. "So," Leia said, "What will you do now?" "I don't know. What do you think I should do?" Obi-Wan asked, "I think you should sleep." Leia stated. Obi-Wan laughed, "I think you're right," he said, then he became serious and knelt down to Leia's level, "When I said before that I didn't know your parents...Princess Leia Organa, you are wise, discerning, kindhearted. These are qualities that came from your mother. But you are also passionate and fearless, forthright. And these are gifts from your father. Both were exceptional people, who bore an exceptional daughter. I wish I could tell you more." "It's okay, you don't have to. Thank you." Leia said, then she paused and asked, "Will ever see you again?" "Maybe. Someday," Obi-Wan said, "If you ever need help from a tired old man. But we must be careful, no one must know or it could endanger us both." "What about me? Will I ever see you again?" Obi-Wan turned and was surprised to see Tala, wearing a dark blue tunic, maroon leggings, and brown boots, standing a few feet away. The only thing missing from Tala's ensemble was her holster, which Leia now wore. "Perhaps, though I doubt either one of you will need my help." Obi-Wan said. "But we might!" Leia protested. "Well Leia," Obi-Wan said, "Should you or Tala ever need my help, your father knows how to reach me." Leia wrapped her arms around him, "Goodbye, Obi-Wan." she said. "Goodbye, princess." Obi-Wan replied, then he stood and faced Tala. She smiled at him slightly, "Goodbye, Obi-Wan." she said. "Goodbye Tala," Obi-Wan said, then he stepped back, "May the Force be with you both." With that he boarded the ship once again, pausing only for a moment to watch Leia run back to her parents with Tala following along behind her, before he headed back to Tatooine.
A/N: Okay, episode six was awesome, in my personal opinion. I hope this chapter didn't feel to rushed, I struggled while writing a few parts but I did my best. I do plan to continue this story, Tala doesn't have a character tag yet but I do plan on featuring her somewhat prominently. Anyway, I apologize for any grammar mistakes. I re-watched a few scenes with subtitles to make sure I got the dialog right, but if it seems choppy then I apologize. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed this chapter.
