Thunder of the devils.
Makima Benten, the absolutely stunning teacher that he had seen earlier in the day. She was now standing in front of the draconic looking teen, and she seemed to be unphased by his new look.
"It's good to see you relatively safe My dear." She remarked, her voice as soft as it was the first time, he heard it. She did however give a cold stare to Denji, Naruto's best friend began to sweat somewhat and even looked like he was about to collapse.
"It wasn't his fault, I wanted to stay, and we got caught because of me." Naruto said to the woman trying his best to save his friend from whatever fate he was being subjected to at that moment.
Makima's cold eyes swamped over him, practically drowning him in sheer cold and shadows, it was almost as if the darkness was strangling him, and she was simply the puppet master. Though the feeling quickly went away as her eyes softened slightly gaining some 'humanity' back.
"Don't let it happen again, you and your sacred gear are very important to me. More so than anything else" She reassured him as she approached lightly stroking his cheek and tracing his scar.
"What is sacred gear? And why am I so important? What are you?" asked in rapid succession, the questions that had built up over the last couple minutes had finally come bursting out.
However, at the questions the rest of the group seemed to cringe slightly, and kobeni seemed to fall further into herself, even Denji, the usually boisterous and charismatic person he is fell silent.
"We are Devils." Makima started, the rest of the group watched Naruto's features intently. Waiting to see some sort of reaction, but they got nothing. Naruto's eyebrow was slightly raised but overall, there was no change.
Makima pressed on with her explanation. "My real name is Makima Moloch, one of the two last Molochs yet also the strongest. I want to turn you into a Devil ." She finished as large black leathery wings burst from her back, they were similar to that of a bat but were much larger and had dark red fur lining the membranes of the wing.
Around him his friends released their own wings showing them to be highly similar to Makimas own, however theirs were all pitch black. He lightly stroked the tops of Kobeni's wings, getting both a blush and a quiet gasp from the small girl, Reze behind them pouted quietly. Although they were curious, did he not think they were monsters?
"So, Naruto." Reze started, as she began to walk toward him "What's your opinion on all of this?" she said, waving her hands animatedly. Naruto could hear and see the nervousness in her voice and the body language. He felt slightly bad for not saying anything, but it was quite a bit to take in.
"It's pretty cool to be honest." Denji face faulted.
"It's a bit weird but I could tell there was something different about you guys when I first met you. Plus, you look so cute with wings I could never be mad" He grabbed both Reze and kobeni into a large heartfelt hug, the two squealed in some joy and embarrassment. Putting them down Reze pulled Naruto down, giving him a small kiss on the cheek, causing a blush to spark up across his face.
Makima walked up to him standing as close as possible without making him feel uncomfortable. She had to crane her neck somewhat to capture his eyes with her own. Her ringed orbs almost absorbed him with their sheer mesmerising nature. Lifting his hand and resting it against her cheek. She reciprocated the action caressing one well-manicured hand against his cheek and tracing his scar.
"So, what do you say Naruto? Will you join us and help me in my goals, so I can help you?"
"What are your goals exactly? While I'm pretty open to anything genocide is a big no no"
Makima laughed lightly, "Don't worry, my goal is simple. To be the strongest, to show those that call themselves Satan's that in the grand scheme of things. They don't matter. So, will you help me?" she asked him. Naruto knew he could hardly refuse the woman, especially if his friends were going to be in the firing line. He'd fight alongside them till the end of time.
Naruto looked at each one of his friends, finally looking back and locking eyes with Makima. "I'm in. So how does this work, do you steal my soul or something" his chuckles were quickly cut off by a sharp look from Reze.
"No, it's something much easier than that" she quipped, revealing an ancient redwood chess box, the box was heavily engraved, and Naruto could feel the sheer power emanating from the box and whatever was in it. It was almost overwhelming.
She opened the box revealing 8 chess pieces. All 8 pawns were different to the normal white or black chess pieces you'd usually see; these were a pulsating purple with what looked like black veins streaking across their shells. Naruto could feel them calling him, almost like an itch that was never properly scratched, the 8 pawns shuffled then without a sound began to rise and float toward Naruto. Slowly swirling in concentric circles.
"Prepare yourself bro, it's like taking creatine plus 100" Denji helpfully commented, Naruto nodded hesitantly not quite getting his friend's analogy.
Makima placed her hand gently against his chest, which Naruto now painfully realised was almost completely bare, ignoring the wrench that was randomly placed in his shredded remnants of his pants he slowly felt an ancient power enter his body and amalgamate itself with his own energy. Then the chess pieces began to draw closer and closer to Naruto's chest. After a couple seconds they had quickly disappeared into his body.
Then IT happened. The entire warehouse lit up like a Christmas tree as Naruto's body began to adapt itself to Makima's power, the ambient electricity spiked. Sparks and arcs of lightning began to spark from the air itself. Naruto himself was a glow light surrounding him like some sort of angelic halo, the sheer weight of his power only hidden by the seals which covered the warehouse. His hair glowed bright gold flowing upwards, his body too glowed and floated his dragon scales taking on a bright yellow hue so bright they were almost white. His eyes glowed a brilliant white clearly pupilless.
"Whoa a super Saiyan" the awe-struck silence was broken by Denji. Once again.
"I think he's more like gear 5" this time it was kobeni who spoke, surprising everyone as she lightly touched naruto's arm giggling as the lightning warmly wrapped around her hand.
Makima who had been silent at this time, the lightning arcing close to her yet doing no damage. "Very good, it seems you're adjusting to my power well enough already. Tomorrow more of my peerage members are arriving, you'll be going on a mission." she said as she began to walk away the slow clack of her heels reverberating with her words.
"Wait there are more of us? Who are they?" he asked, he knew how many chess pieces were usually on a chess board, but he wasn't sure if she'd actually collected that many people.
"Don't worry you'll see the rest of them soon enough. These new members that are arriving are, let's say, different" she then continued standing at the door as what seemed to be like a seal appeared on the floor beneath her. She turned her head slightly revealing one of her bright orange ringed eyes, Naruto could just make out the hints of playfulness.
"Oh, I almost forgot. If you win tomorrow without a single scratch, I'll grant one wish."
She disappeared, not a flash of light, not even a sound, she just simply disappeared.
Naruto looked at Denji and they both grinned at each other. Reze rolled her eyes and smiled while kobeni puffed her cheeks into a pout. Naruto reached down and wrapped his arm around kobeni lifting her onto his shoulder, turning to Reze and Denji he finally spoke.
"Well, I suppose we should get moving then, we've got a long day tomorrow."
All three agreed and soon Naruto was finally alone in his room, his powerful new form still fully activated, he raised his hand and balled it into a fist.
"Now I can protect those I love."
Then he blacked out. falling directly onto his bed and almost off his bed. The shear strain of the day finally took its toll upon his body. Within the sacred gear Raijin himself began to plot and scheme knowing that his host would become a beast of war, the world had never seen since Trihexa itself.
The next day.
Naruto woke up bleary eyed, quickly sitting up he found a note on his chest of drawers. The note was in Makimas handwriting and it sat upon a small neatly folded pile of clothes.
"Wear this to school today, it'll show that you're one of mine. The clothes are magic resistant and enhanced to both grow with you and protect you from most damage. As well as work with your more… electrifying powers.
With love from Makima"
Naruto read the note and placed it to one side, lifting the folded pile of clothes to see what they were. The first was a pitch-black blazer which seemed to be exactly his size, the blazer was heavily padded however it was as light as a feather. Putting that to one side he then picked up a pure white dress shirt, this was the same as the blazer. The entire suit piece was well armoured yet still mobile and allowed the full ranges of movement.
Then a black and red shape caught his eye on the floor, looking down he spotted two boxes with another note. This time from Reze and Kobeni, knowing that they would only get him the best he opened the smallest of the boxes.
This revealed a crimson red tie, this tie had black lightning bolts streaking across it. Naruto held it in awe, the tie was beautiful and almost resonated with him despite its simple nature. Putting it to one side he picked up what seemed to be a shoe box, opening this one showed some of the most menacing shoes known to mankind.
Pitch black air forces with modified obsidian soles, the shoes themself much like the tie seemed to be made for him especially, simply resonating with both his being and his fit.
An hour later
After quickly having eaten breakfast and getting dressed Naruto left his house, quickly locking the door and walking up the road. People seemed to stare as he walked by, either out of sheer curiosity or simple lust; his body having slightly changed after he had blacked out the night before. He was now taller, his muscles easily twice as dense as they had been when he was mostly human, he seemed to walk with a confident gait, his head held high.
Halfway on his trip he met up with Denji, Reze and kobeni. The taller of the two women licked her lips sensually as she watched her friend approach, having seen the clothes that had been chosen for him the night before. She knew he'd look good, but not this good.
Naruto meanwhile scanned his friends, seeing that both Kobeni and Denji were wearing a similar suit to his, theirs however being the basic black and white business suits. Reze wore a white polo shirt and her usual black shorts, her trademark choker was in its usual place however attached to it was a small golden sleigh bell, which lightly jingled as she moved.
As he approached Kobeni nodded at the clothes he was wearing while Denji simply reached out with a fist bump, meeting Denji in the middle the small group began to walk toward Kuoh academy, then a thought slammed into Naruto's brain.
"Question. Who's Makima sending to meet us today?" he asked.
Denji was the first to react, sticking out his tongue in mock disgust, "bleugh, from what I heard she's sending a knight and one of her clan retainers. I've met both her retainer is weird as fuck and the knight is a stuck-up bastard but he's a good guy mostly."
Just as Naruto was about to ask another query, they saw a yellow Fiat 500 lodged into the wall next to the school. There were some students surrounding it and taking pictures, however most were simply ignoring the strange scene.
Kobeni groaned in annoyance, "I know exactly who she sent now. Only one person can crash my car that badly."
Naruto turned to her, a huge question mark appearing above his head. "You drive?"
Kobeni looked up at him, her face dead serious. "Yes, I am 16 you know."
Naruto simply shrugged, knowing it was better to leave it than to question it. As he continued to stare at the car, he noticed someone sitting on top of the roof of the vehicle.
She had long blonde hair with some smaller pink streaks in it. The most striking thing about the woman was the smaller red horns which jutted from the top of her head, and what seemed to be fangs peeking from the top of her lips. Just from the way she sat Naruto could detect some arrogance, but he couldn't be completely sure.
Denji sighed loudly as the woman sitting on top of the car noticed them coming. "Bow down before the mighty fiend, Power. Denji, why aren't you bowing you idiot?" The woman now known as Power continued to throw insults at Denji all the while the rest of the group slowly looked between them in embarrassment and in Naruto's case confusion.
"Power stop being a dickhead and get off Kobeni's car." Denji shouted at the fiend, the female huffed and launched herself from the wreckage, landing squarely in front of Naruto and stepping directly into his personal space. It was then he saw her eyes were red and orange and her pupils were shaped like targets. Then she spoke directly to him.
"So, you're the new meat that Lady Makima allowed in, I hope you're ready for tonight. We're hunting proper monsters." Then she began to disappear as she finished her sentence but before she could disappear completely, she addressed the entire group.
"Remember Guys, meet me and Aki at the Warehouse district after this shithole." she said as she stuck out her tongue at Denji who shook his fist at her as she left.
Naruto turned to Denji the question burning away. "Bro, who was she ?"
"That my friend was Power. A blood fiend that Makima tamed a couple years ago, I remember that mission like it was yesterday. Power attacked us at a blood bank and got Milly rocked by Makima. Took two minutes." he snickered as they entered the school, their minds already floating toward the events that would occur later that day.
6 hours later
The gang left Kuoh academy just before the bell rang, their master having let them out early so they could deal with their assignment. The school day had been pretty normal for them, bar Rias and Akeno staring in Naruto's direction for most of the day, even at one point during their lunch break trying to come and sit near him. Only to be driven off by an almost feral Reze, and after running off a couple more attempts, they'd finally grown fed up and left.
Now they moved quickly toward the warehouse district, their steps swift and silent, their faces serious and ready. They found Power standing atop one of the large buildings which overlooked the district, she sat on a ledge and her feet kicked out beneath her. Leaping up to where she was, they found another figure looking over the area, he was almost the same height as Naruto himself; his black hair was tied into a top knot, he looked pretty much like a normal Japanese citizen bar his height and the blade that sat in a sheath on his back. He was dressed in the same suit that most of them wore bar the blazer.
"YO! AKI how ya doing dude?". Denji was the first to call out to him.
"Shut the fuck up Denji, your too loud sometimes." The now known Aki responded, by his tone Naruto could tell the guy was annoyed already.
"That wasn't nice Hayakawa." Reze sent back, a small smirk stretched across her face as Aki grunted in annoyance. He turned to Naruto with a slight curiosity visible in his dark blue eyes.
"You're pretty strong, you'd have to be for Makima to let you come here." Before Naruto could even respond, there was a loud crash. One of the many large warehouses began to collapse.
Aki didn't speak, drawing the weapon that was sheathed on his back. It was revealed to be a long needle like sword, the 'Blade' of the weapon held no edge, yet it was wrapped in barbed wire from the hilt downwards, Aki quickly took a step towards the edge of the building. Looking back only once the dark-haired youth lept from the building. Denji followed quickly after, the chainsaws bursting through his arms and revving as he followed his friend into the fray.
Naruto and Reze followed behind, Naruto's hair began to float, and his skin began to regrow its draconic scales. Behind him a golden ring with 8 medium sized taiko drums appeared, it seemed to float just off his back and spin lightly. Both he and Reze floated down quickly, easily hitting the ground and continuing to run toward where the sounds of fighting had begun. As they rounded a corner, they saw what they were meant to be fighting.
There were three of the devils from what they could see, one was huge having the stretched torso of a human male and the shaggy head of horned ram, its lower half was reminiscent of that of a centaur however its centaur like bottom half was covered in patches of scales and blood, one of its massive arms was like that of a crabs claw jagged and dotted with small bits of coral. Its other arm was more akin to that of a human albeit quite deformed, having only 4 fingers and being covered in what equated to zebra stripes. It held a long brutal spear seemingly formed from bone and muscle, the weapon seemed to wheeze and breathe with each movement, even as it was jabbed toward the now aware Aki who quickly leapt away.
"I kNoW yOuR kInD. YoU wiLl NoT kIlL Us. I WiLl DeVoUr YoUr BoNeS." its unholy speech pattern seemed to undulate and warp.
Aki slid under another jab using the flat side of his blade to block a swipe from the beast's crab claw, pulling back Denji jumped from behind it revealing his rearing chainsaws. One cleanly bit through one of the massive horns which sat on its head.
SkArRrRrR
The beast roared in anger, swatting aside the chainsaw wielding devil. One of its massive hooves went to crush Denji's now prone form, aiming to crush the insect who had injured it so.
Clap
The light sound of a clap was the only warning Naruto got as within a split second Reze who had been running next to him was now displaced and in her place was an uninjured Denji. However, beneath the beast's now quickly falling hoof was a smiling Reze.
"Boom,"
All hell broke loose.
The beast's entire hoofed foot was removed at the knee, simply gone in bang. A large explosion removing the immediate danger from his female friend, she grinned again as the smoke cleared revealing her arms and lower legs which were covered in a black metallic like substance.
The goat thing stumbled back, its pain and annoyance clear. However, it hesitated. And it wasn't out of fear.
2 more creatures arrived to aid of the goat-thing. One took the form of a massive snow-white great ape, its arms longer than that of a natural, this combined with the innumerable number of eyes which matted its fat head and the bone spurs which jutted from every spot on its body. The second devil had a body similar to that of a massive grotesque human, yet with twin heads similar to that of a vulture, two massive wings spread across the battlefield as it prepared to engage the smaller devils.
Naruto could feel the smugness of the trio as they used their superior sizes to force Aki and Reze back. The winged Devil took to the sky using its massive wings to generate a large current. He looked up to the sky and began to concentrate, reaching out for that familiar feeling.
Above the city, Thunderclouds began to gather. These were darker and larger than anything seen till this point, lightning seemed to arc from cloud to cloud almost as if it were a snake moving from cover to cover.
Naruto did what was Natural. Lifting his arm so it was perpendicular with the sky.
The clouds funnelled down lightning still arcing around it, the cone of clouds wrapped around his outstretched hand.
"Say its name, wield it with pride"
"Say its name…..."
In Naruto hand formed from the will of the gods themselves, was a three sectioned staff. The section where the staff was held was red in colour yet streaked with veins of gold similar to those of a lightning bolt, stormy grey iron capped the ends of the staff, the chain which connected the three sections being that of a similar material. Naruto swung it once or twice trying to get a feel for the weapon.
"Say its name…..."
The voice continued to speak in his head, almost reminiscent of his first transformation. Then the name of his majestic weapon appeared so boldly in his mind.
"Playful…."
"...Cloud"
The weapon almost seemed to hum at its name being called. Naruto hefted the weapon by its third section, swinging it lightly and watching the gold glow dimly. Naruto grinned and rushed the ape thing first. Leaping high into the air he reached back as far as he could, then he snapped it forward. Swinging with as much force as possible.
The Ape reached up with one of its long arms to block the strike, successfully connecting with Naruto, yet when it reeled back its arm the entire arms seemed to flop over as if it were boneless.
Then it began to rampage as the sheer pain of what had occurred finally reached its puny brain.
Naruto remained in mid-air, his abilities keeping him afloat, he looked at his weapon however. The tri staff seemed to hum but would not resonate with him, it seemed wrong to simply use the weapon.
"NARUTO WATCH OUT"
A huge fist flew over the top of his head, catching some stray hairs and almost blowing him away, Naruto flew back quickly as the Bird thing flew towards him its fist cocked back for another punch, weaving around that one too whilst also remembering the promise Makima had made; Naruto struck back. Playful cloud struck more akin to that of a viper, snapping forwards and crushing the left wing of the monster.
"mY WiNg My BeAuTiFuL wINg" the thing screeched as it plummeted, its singular wing beating furiously to keep itself aloft.
"TaKe tHiS" it reached across and plucked a handful of feathers from its pulped wing and flung them at the scion of lightning.
Clap
The feathers punctured a large boulder which began to tumble from the sky. The avian looked around in confusion, simply not understanding how his enemy could disappear so quickly.
"PRANK EM JOHN"
The shout caught the bird monster off guard as it turned to face the carrot top that had shouted toward it.
What it missed however was the figure floating behind its head lightning coating his form, the tri staff practically glowing and humming with energy.
"YOU ALREADY KNOW"
The bird didn't even have time to react, the enhanced end of the staff slammed in and through its twin skull, pulping its brain to less than mush. Its limp body collapsed, falling toward the ground, crashing down a couple moments later barely twitching as the blow had almost taken off its entire head.
The Pseudo-Monkey howled, its rage and sorrow distracting it. It began to flail about its once wounded arm now mostly healed, struck out slamming into Naruto and sending the teen careening into a wall, the brickwork crumpled beneath his body, he was seeing stars for a moment as the creature charged him to destroy the one who killed its friend.
It never got the chance however, four massive red pikes slammed down into the beast, piercing through its back and chest and immediately piercing the ground anchoring it.
"Bow down before the powerful and immense Power." the strawberry blonde floated down, the last of the group to finally engage in combat, she looked slightly different, however. Her dark crimson horns were much taller than usually, and she seemed more confident overall.
She appeared next to him, her face close to his, her unique eyes staring into his own. An arrogant smirk cut across her face.
"Need some help, newbie? Looks like you're in more than you can manage." she sneered her voice holding no malice but pure disdain as if she were talking down to him.
Behind her the gorilla continued to rage and shake, one of the pillars securing it to the ground began to crack, just as the beast broke through the first a flash of black slammed into its head forcing it back to the ground. Kobeni, Naruto hadn't seen her most of the fight yet the sheer speed that she appeared with reminded him of something.
Clap
He now realised who was doing that teleportation technique, as he watched Kobeni disappear out of the range of the monkey's swing instead it struck a sea mine.
KAKRAMMM
The explosion removed the beasts arm and singed the hair on its upper body, it was weakened now practically no threat, however Power approached it a blade of pure red in her grip similar to that of an ancient European great sword, with a single spinning flourish she removed its head, a geyser of blood poured out practically flooding the small area where they had been fighting.
Something odd happened, Powers' horns began to grow taller, and her body began to grow moving in accordance with her absorption of the blood. She turned to Naruto, her fangs on show.
"I, peasant am the greatest of the blood fiends, bow before my magnificence." She grinned, then her eyes opened wide, and she jumped away as the same goat hybrid that Aki and Reze had been duelling earlier slammed into her previous position. The monster was beaten up and battered its crab arm missing and the stump still spurted blood it still held the flesh spear however and even as wounded as it was the thing was still a formidable enemy.
It tried to rise again however its wounds were too severe. The small group surrounded the failing daemon.
Aki raised his right hand, forming a symbol with his fingers. It seemed the Daemon noticed and knew what the symbol was as it tried harder to rise.
"Kon."
The effect was instant, a pitch-black portal opened beneath the now baying Daemon, Naruto was curious to what the portal and symbol actually did. His curiosity was sated a moment later as the head of an enormous creature burst from the portal swallowing the goat Daemon hole in a single bite, the being was similar to that of a massive fox, however It was covered in a multitude of orange eyes each staring into space, the head seemed to grin at the group before quickly disappearing.
Naruto turned to Aki as they began to leave, the tiredness of the group was on show as they all trudged back toward their houses.
"What the hell were those?" he asked a single eyebrow raised in a questioning glance.
Aki grunted in light annoyance and lit up a cigarette before finally answering.
"Those, were Daemons, the lowest and most impure forms in the underworld, it's unknown where they actually come from but they're like pests, however you have to get rid of them before they get too strong, which is what we just did."
He finished his exposition with a sigh, he turned and looked at the group his eyes and body language showed his sheer exhaustion.
"I'm going to collapse into my bed now, I shall see you all tomorrow" and with that he disappeared. Kobeni and Reze followed suit, Naruto forgetting to ask about the material that she covered her arms with. Reze before she left laid a kiss on his cheek getting him to perk up slightly. Denji himself barely made a sound as he disappeared.
Naruto felt himself be teleported and couldn't even fight it, to his surprise however it was not a kidnapping as he ended up in his room.
However, he was not the only one here. He slowly turned and his eyes popped, and his brain melted. For standing there in the centre of the room was the figure of his new Leader, her long red hair pulled up into a ponytail, her usual suit missing in favour of a dark red leotard which ended at her thick luscious thighs revealing a hint of pale flesh which then disappeared into a pair of black thigh highs, on top of her head was a pair of light red bunny ears.
Her eyes seemed to hypnotise Naruto again, driving him into exhaustion's grip, as he finally conked out.
She giggled lightly and stripped him down to his shorts, easily placing him on the bed, before climbing in herself, wrapping her arms around his upper body.
"Oh Naruto, you remind me so much of him… you're an amazing soul. And you will always be mine…. Always"
