Five Times Blaine Sings Teenage Dream to Kurt and the One Time They Sing It Together
One: When They First Met
Kurt hadn't really known what to expect from Dalton. He'd only been exposed to the joys of public school, so he felt out of his depth stepping foot in such a luxurious private academy. There were boys everywhere with blazers and ties, grey trousers, and dress shoes. The uniform was ill-fitting though, which made Kurt scrunch his nose up in judgment.
Kurt had nothing in his closet that could closely resemble such an ensemble, so he had to make do with what he found. Upon further inspection, Kurt notices he sticks out like a sore thumb. Not exactly the best scenario when you're trying to blend in.
As Kurt is walking through what he assumes is the main hall, he notices all the boys suddenly rushing to get somewhere. It was like a very organized stampede of preppy boys. Kurt was confused.
Is this some sort of academy ritual? Kurt wondered.
Next thing he knows, he's walking down a spiraling staircase. Kurt takes his time down the stairs, taking off his sunglasses in an attempt to further blend in. He really has no idea where he's going but this academy really is fancy. It looks like a castle, and for a second, Kurt actually believes it used to be one.
Kurt gives up in trying to look like he knows what's going on. Looking around, he notices a short boy with gelled black hair passing by. On a whim, Kurt decides to ask for help.
"Excuse me," he calls out. The boy turns around and – oh. Kurt loses his train of thought. This boy is gorgeous. "Um, hi. Can I ask you a question? I-I'm new here." He hopes the boy takes his stutter as him being nervous rather than lovestruck.
"My name's Blaine." The boy – Blaine – says. He reaches his hand out towards Kurt's and Kurt's breath hitches as the hands make contact. Kurt swears he just felt some sort of electric shock run down his spine. Is this what they mean when they say 'love at first sight?'
"Kurt." He breathes out. Blaine pulls back and Kurt feels a sense of disappointment. He looks around to mask his face, looking back at Blaine once more. "So, what exactly is going on?"
"The Warblers!" Blaine exclaims, explaining how the Warblers throw impromptu performances every once in a while.
"So, wait the glee club here is kind of cool?" Kurt asks in disbelief.
"The Warblers are like rockstars." Blaine says enthusiastically, Kurt raises an eyebrow. Blaine seems to notice Kurt's hesitance and offers his hand out once again. "Come on, I know a shortcut."
Without really waiting for an answer, Blaine takes Kurt's hand anyway and starts leading them down one of the many corridors. If you asked Kurt, it seemed like they were taking quite a while to get to the Senior commons. Then again, Kurt doesn't go to the school and Blaine seems to know where he's going.
They finally reach a set of double doors and Blaine walks through like he owns the place, Kurt follows. Kurt looks around at all the boys in the room, looking down at his outfit once more.
"I stick out like a sore thumb," he voices his thoughts from earlier.
"Next time don't forget your jacket, new kid." Blaine reaches out to straighten Kurt's jacket collar. "You'll fit right in." The words were accentuated with a pat to his shoulder and a wink thrown his way.
Kurt was floored. He's never had another boy talk to him and interact with him so freely without preamble. It took a year for Finn to be comfortable around Kurt, and he struggles with it even now. All the boys in the glee club don't really care for him all that much. Hell, he was kicked out of the boys' group meeting without even having a chance to explain his vision.
The start of a semi-familiar melody snaps Kurt out of his thoughts. He'd heard this song on the radio a few times whenever he goes to the mall but he's not really that big of a fan. However, when Blaine excuses himself and starts singing, Kurt falls in love with both the song and the boy in front of him.
"Before you met me, I was alright, but things were kind of heavy. You brought me to life, now every February, you'll be my valentine, valentine," Blaine sings, dancing along to the basic Warbler choreography.
Blaine really does have a beautiful voice. He sings that song perfectly, hitting every note flawlessly. He keeps looking in Kurt's direction and Kurt can't stop smiling. This boy he just met is basically serenading him. Kurt feels like his head is in the clouds. He actually is enjoying this performance and makes a mental note to add the original song to his playlist.
Neither boy knew it at the time, but this song was about to hold a lot of meaning for their relationship.
Two: Their First Anniversary
To anyone else, this was a normal day. To Kurt and Blaine, this was one of the happiest days of their lives. After their first meeting, the boys had been on a whirlwind romance for the past year. It took a while for them to start dating, but once they did, it was as if they had been together their entire lives. Although they did their best to not act like a couple in school, neither boy could their excitement for what they had planned. For their anniversary, the boys had decided to do something special but simple. Since they couldn't exactly be public, Burt had given them permission to have the house to themselves. Burt had gone to DC with Carole for the weekend, and Finn and Sam were going to spend the night at Artie's for a game night with the rest of the boys.
Their day was filled with the usual brushes of the hands, secret smiles, and longing glances. They even dared to kiss when they were sure the hallway was completely empty. Neither boy paid attention during Glee practice, which left the New Directions wondering if there was something going on between them.
"Are you and Blaine okay?" Mercedes cornered Kurt before they could leave the auditorium. She had taken the opportunity once Blaine had finally left Kurt's side to run to the bathroom.
"What do you mean?" Kurt asked back, going over some of the choreography.
"I mean that you and Blaine have been acting weirdly attached to each other all day. It's not healthy." Mercedes elaborated.
"Blaine and I are fine, Mercedes." Kurt scoffed and shook his head. "I appreciate your concern but there's nothing wrong between us."
"If you say so. But if the hobbit does something to upset you, I will not be held responsible for my actions."
"Careful, you're starting to sound like Santana." Kurt snorted.
"You know what I mean," Mercedes laughed.
"Thank you, Cedes. But you don't have to worry about that."
"Worry about what?" Blaine had come back, taking his place next to Kurt.
Mercedes opened her mouth to come up with an excuse, but Kurt cut her off. "About our relationship being on the rocks."
"Oh, there's absolutely nothing to worry about Mercedes." Blaine winked, gently correcting Kurt's form. Mercedes smiled sheepishly and grabbed her bag before leaving.
"I wonder what that was about." Blaine commented. His hands were still on Kurt's waist, and as much as Kurt hated to admit it, the touch made him feel warm inside.
"I have no idea." Kurt replied. Blaine finally noticed his hand placement and subtly dropped his hands from his boyfriend's body, much to Kurt's disappointment.
"You have your stuff?" Blaine asked. Kurt nodded and picked his bag up off the floor, swinging it over his shoulder.
"And since we're the only ones here…" Kurt trailed off. He stepped closer to Blaine and Blaine knew where this was going. Blaine tipped his head up as Kurt leaned down, effectively bringing their lips together.
Kissing Kurt was Blaine's favorite thing. He will never get over the way their lips fit perfectly, like they weren't meant to kiss anyone else. He loves the way Kurt pecks him first, then goes back in for a deeper kiss. And the way Kurt is kissing him now is his favorite of all. He loves it when Kurt kisses him slow, taking his time. And when Kurt (finally!) licks Blaine's lips to ask for permission, Blaine opens his mouth without hesitation. Blaine's knees buckle as Kurt's tongue makes its way into his mouth. Kurt hums and the vibration makes Blaine's eyes roll to the back of his head. Kissing Kurt is definitely his favorite thing. And if Kurt is kissing him this way now, in a school auditorium, Blaine is excited to see the way Kurt will kiss him when they get back to the house.
As the boys come up for air, Blaine is left panting inches away from Kurt's mouth. "Wow."
"Happy anniversary, B." Kurt laughs breathlessly.
Right then and there Blaine is struck with an amazing idea. He pecks Kurt one more time before pulling out of Kurt's embrace and locating the piano that was pushed to the back corner.
"Blaine, wha-" Kurt's question is cut off as his boyfriend sits down at the piano, beginning to play a very familiar melody. "Oh my god." Kurt laughs.
"You think I'm pretty without any makeup on," Blaine begins, playing the piano to perfection. Kurt opens his mouth to sing the next line, but the look Blaine shoots him is enough to silence him. There is so much love in that gaze. Over the past year that they've been dating, Kurt has become accustomed to being the subject of many of Blaine's gazes. He has never seen one as beautiful and as intimate as the one he is looking at now.
"You think I'm funny when I tell the punchline wrong. I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, down." Blaine closes his eyes as he sings. Kurt starts to see the moment Blaine is transported to that fateful day at Dalton. Kurt closes his eyes too, losing himself in his boyfriend's beautiful voice.
They both had heard this song many times since that day but hadn't dared to sing it themselves. The song now holds so much meaning to them. It reminds them of their many dates, kisses, late night confessions and intimate moments. It's the beginning of their relationship, the moment they fell in love and the moment they are in right now.
As Blaine finishes the song, Kurt's heart swells at the love he feels in this moment. Blaine finally opens his eyes and is struck with the sight of Kurt's teary smile.
"I love you so much, Blaine." Kurt whispers. He walks over and sits on Blaine's lap. Blaine rests his forehead against Kurt's, giving him a kiss on the nose.
"I love you too, baby. Happy anniversary."
Three: When They Broke Up
When Kurt had opened the door to reveal his boyfriend's face, he was overcome with a joy he hadn't felt since leaving. He'd missed Blaine so much but hadn't had the time to return his calls. Vogue was kicking his ass and he'd been working his ass off trying to impress Isabelle. It was hard adjusting to a new life in a new city with no one but his high school friend. He felt bad for neglecting Blaine and hoped that his beautiful boyfriend would understand.
Blaine seemed different, in a way. Kurt hoped that it was just the distance, and that they would be able to rekindle their relationship when they got some alone time. As soon as he and Blaine embraced, they were pulled apart by Rachel. As much as Kurt grew to love the brunette, he just wanted to spend some time with his boyfriend whom he hasn't seen in a month.
However, before Kurt's wishes could be granted, they had to meet Brody at Callbacks. They made their way out of the apartment and decided to walk there since it wasn't too far.
Rachel finally seemed to gain some sense and dragged Finn to walk alongside her, ahead of Kurt and Blaine. Kurt wanted to initiate conversation, but he knew Blaine was enjoying the silence. After a while though, Kurt started getting impatient. The air around them had been tense all night and Kurt was determined to get rid of it.
"I'm so glad you're here! I've missed you so much," Kurt finally says. He wraps his arm around Blaine's, leaning on the other boy.
"I've missed you too." Blaine replies quietly, sounding close to tears.
Kurt doesn't think he's ever heard Blaine sounds this upset before. It's puzzling to him. Shouldn't Blaine be happy to see him?
Before they know it, their walk comes to an end as they pull up to the local college club.
"We're here!" Rachel sings.
"Come on! I promise you're going to love it." Kurt smiles, dragging his boyfriend inside.
Brody was already there, and he had been saving them a table. As they make the introductions, Kurt notices that Blaine seems a lot less enthusiastic than usual. He's almost drawn into himself and has been extremely quiet. Kurt sees no trace of the energetic, bright-eyed boy that he fell in love with.
As the night progresses, so does Kurt's worry. Blaine hasn't really been interacting much with them at all, sticking quietly by Kurt's side. He can see the concerning looks that Rachel and Finn keep shooting him, but he chooses to ignore them.
Rachel tries getting Finn to sing with her, but he refuses and tells her to sing with Brody instead, much to everyone's surprise. As they sing, Blaine gets more tense. Blaine had been wondering how to tell Kurt and listening to Rachel and Brody's song choice gave Blaine an idea.
He didn't want to tell Kurt about what happened back in Lima, but Kurt deserved to know. This wasn't another Chandler situation. Kurt had been texting Chandler, and yes, Chandler had been flirting but Kurt never flirted back, he simply laughed at the texts. Blaine had been texting another guy and so much more. It never went further than a make-out session. Blaine put a stop to it as soon as he realized where he was and what he was doing but by then it had been too late. He cheated on the love of his life.
Rachel and Brody return to their seats, receiving fake praise from Finn, and genuine compliments from Kurt. Blaine bothered to give them a smile but didn't bother to comment on anything else.
No one else dared to follow that duet so the stage had been silent for a few moments. Blaine decides that's his cue and gets up from his seat.
"Where are you going?" His boyfriend questions.
To break your heart, Blaine thinks, instead answering with, "I have a song for you."
Kurt smiles, clearly excited. Blaine tries to not let that affect him.
Blaine reaches the stage and immediately sits down at the piano. He starts playing the melody before deciding that he should probably say something.
"Um, hi everyone." Blaine speaks softly, "I, um, I wanna sing a song that's very special to me. This is a song that I sang the first time I ever met the love of my life. So, Kurt, this is for you." He finishes his little speech, taking a deep breath before beginning the song.
As soon as Blaine told Kurt he was singing a song, Kurt knew what Blaine was going to sing. When Blaine revealed the meaning of the song and how special it is to them, Kurt couldn't stop the smile that spread across his face.
"He really sang this to you when you first met?" Rachel leans over and whispers. Neither Kurt nor Blaine had ever really revealed how they met. They chose to keep their relationship as private as possible, preferring to keep the moments between them.
"Don't interrupt my man while he's singing," Kurt whispers back. Rachel flushes and shuts up.
"Let's go all the way tonight. No regrets, just love. We can dance until we die, you and I, we'll be young forever," Blaine belts. He was progressively rushing through the song, hoping to not break down in full sobs before he could finish.
Kurt's heart warmed at hearing Blaine dedicating this song to him. The smile slipped off his face and his heart grew colder as the song progressed, though. Something was not right. Kurt felt the dread in his stomach, he ached to know what Blaine was hiding from him.
As the words left Blaine's mouth, tears left his eyes. He noticed the split second it took for Kurt to realize that this time is not like the other times. Blaine isn't singing this from a place of love, he's singing this from a place of guilt and regret.
Blaine finishes the song and takes a few moments to collect himself before heading back to the table.
No words are spoken between them but there doesn't need to be. Unbeknownst to the rest of the group, Blaine had just broken Kurt's heart.
Four: When They Got Back Together
It took less than a year for Kurt to forgive Blaine after that night. In reality, it took Kurt one week to understand why Blaine did what he did. It took him two weeks to forgive Blaine, but it would be six months before he finally stopped blaming himself for Blaine cheating. It took a failed attempt at another relationship for him to realize that for him, there's no one else.
Throughout those months that it took for Kurt to forgive Blaine, Blaine did some heavy self-reflecting. Having Kurt reach out and tell him he's forgiven gave Blaine the push he needed to seek some help. He apologized many times to not only Kurt, but Burt and Carole as well.
Slowly but surely, the two boys began rebuilding their relationship from the ground up and working on their communication skills. Surely enough, at Mr. Schuester's failed wedding, only a little bit over half a year after they broke up, they hooked up. It wasn't planned or anything, but they hadn't seen each other in months and tensions had been running high.
It was only a week after that they announced they had gotten back together. Everyone had seen the way they clung to each other that night during the reception so although everyone was happy for them, no one was really surprised. It was cemented in everyone's head at this point that the boys would have eventually found their way back to each other.
Of course, being back together meant having to do a long-distance relationship since they still lived in different states. Thus, Kurt and Blaine were accustomed to Skype dates and long FaceTime calls. They would often watch reality TV together, alternating picks. Kurt would quiz Blaine on his homework and Blaine would give Kurt notes about his acting.
Sometimes, like tonight, they would simply lie in silence and enjoy each other's virtual company.
"You know," Blaine breaks the silence after a while. Kurt hums and Blaine continues, "It's been a while since I sang to you."
"You're always singing to me," Kurt points out.
"Well, yeah, but…" Blaine trails off, lost in a sad memory.
"Hey. Talk to me, what's going on?" Kurt immediately picks up on his boyfriend's forlorn mood.
"Nothing, just thinking about the last time I dedicated a song to you." Blaine says simply. Kurt freezes at the memory and Blaine nods, having predicted Kurt's reaction. "I shouldn't have brought it up." Blaine shakes his head.
"No, I'm glad you did. We need to talk about it, B."
"I thought we already did," Blaine replies.
"Doesn't mean we can't bring it up again," Kurt notes.
"I ruined the song for us, Kurt!" Blaine exclaims in regret.
"So then reclaim it for us," Kurt encourages.
"You really want me to?" Blaine asks, surprised Kurt wants to hear the song at all after what happened last time.
"Of course, you know I love hearing you sing." Kurt compliments. Blaine blushes and ducks his head. Even after being with Kurt for almost two years, more if you don't count the break-up, he's not used to being the object of affection.
"Okay, but remember you asked for this." Blaine replies. He gets off his bed and goes in search of his acoustic guitar. Kurt smiles as Blaine comes back into frame, this time clutching a guitar. Blaine starts strumming and Kurt is hit with nostalgia as the melody starts filtering through the screen.
Blaine focuses all his energy into the song, pushing back all the painful memories from all those months ago. Kurt is in a trance hearing the song once more. This is so different from all those other times. Blaine is playing so beautifully and carefully, putting his heart into every line.
"My heart stops when you look at me. Just one touch, now baby, I believe this is real," Blaine looks up at the camera as he sings the last line and Kurt falls in love with him all over again. No matter how many times he's heard this song or has been serenaded with it, he has never felt more loved than he does in this moment. He and Blaine have been through so much, especially in the last two years.
He put so much trust into Blaine and their relationship. When they broke up, Kurt thought he would never be able to love again. He's glad he was able to pull himself out of that hole and hear Blaine out. It took him a while to be able to trust Blaine again and he has never been so glad in his resilience. He can't imagine his life without Blaine in it, and now he doesn't have to.
"Let you put your hands on me, in my skintight jeans. Be your teenage dream tonight," Blaine sings the last line. He stops strumming the guitar and the boys go back to sitting in silence. Blaine doesn't need Kurt to tell him how proud he is. He takes one look at the screen, at Kurt's lovestruck gaze, and he knows he did the right thing singing this song again. They have a long way to go but he knows they'll be okay.
Five: When They Got Engaged
Kurt had a problem. He couldn't stop staring at his engagement ring. He's engaged. To Blaine. The love of his life. He's still having trouble wrapping his head around it.
Blaine had surprised him with a big and public proposal at Dalton featuring multiple show choirs singing All You Need Is Love. Call Kurt crazy or call Blaine unpredictable, but Kurt thought that if there was one song that Blaine would propose to him with, it would be Teenage Dream. Kurt was right, in a way. Blaine didn't propose to him with Teenage Dream…in front of everyone. He saved the special moment for the two of them behind closed doors.
As most newly engaged couples do, Kurt and Blaine booked a hotel room for two nights so they could have all the sex they wanted to without parents getting in the way.
Kurt was expecting to ravage Blaine as soon as they unlocked the door to their hotel room, but it seemed Blaine had other plans. Kurt was working on taking off Blaine's vest when Blaine broke away.
"Kurt, wait. Let's slow things down for a sec," Blaine said breathlessly. He put his hands on top of Kurt's and gently pried them off his clothing.
"Blaine," Kurt whined. "You just proposed to me. We're engaged. We're alone in a hotel room and you're expecting me to slow things down?" Kurt asked incredulously. Despite his complaining, though, Kurt abided Blaine's wishes and kept his hands to himself.
"I want you to sit down for a moment," Blaine explained, leading Kurt over to the small pullout couch in the corner of the room.
"Okay," Kurt agreed, a bit confused.
"I know I already did the big proposal, and I am beyond elated you said yes," Blaine began.
"But?" Kurt cut him off before Blaine could continue. Kurt was anxious to see where his boyfriend – fiancé, Kurt corrected himself – was going with this.
"But I wanted to do something a bit more intimate as well. Just for the two of us." Blaine elaborates. He pulls out his phone and connects to YouTube on the TV. Kurt looks over and silently shakes his head when he sees what Blaine is pulling up. The karaoke version of Teenage Dream.
"This song is going to follow us for our entire relationship, isn't it?" Kurt comments sarcastically. He smiles though, which puts Blaine at ease. The last thing Blaine wants to do is bore Kurt or become too predictable. They have a mutual understanding of what this song means for them and their relationship.
Blaine smiles back as the lyrics start popping up on the screen. He doesn't need to look at the TV though, having this song memorized from his Warblers performance all those years ago. Instead, he focuses on the boy in front of him. The words leave his mouth almost unconsciously.
Kurt can see all the memories rushing through Blaine's head. Their first meeting, first kiss, first "I love you," first time, first anniversary and so many more. Kurt is transported back to that fateful day at Dalton. He is suddenly struck with the knowledge that if he hadn't stopped Blaine at the right moment, they wouldn't be here right now. He could've let Blaine walk by and wander around Dalton by himself. He could've stopped someone else on the staircase and nothing would've resulted from that interaction. And not for the first time since he met Blaine, Kurt truly appreciates how lucky he is in finding a man as beautiful and as loving as Blaine.
"You make me feel like I'm living a teenage dream. The way you turn me on, I can't sleep," Blaine winks at that particular line. "Let's run away and don't ever look back, don't ever look back."
As if to truly recreate the first time Blaine sang this song to him, Blaine starts doing the original Warbler choreography. Kurt bursts out laughing and is about to get up and join Blaine when Blaine shakes his head. Kurt understands that Blaine is leading up to something, so he stays sitting down with no protests.
As he finishes the song, Blaine drops to one knee and Kurt finally realizes what Blaine was trying to do. Blaine reaches out and grabs Kurt's hands in his own.
"Kurt, my dearest love," Blaine begins his speech, "I am the luckiest man to have you as my fiancé. I can't wait to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you. You mean so much to me and I will never, ever take your love for granted ever again."
Blaine's voice had wavered through that last sentence. Kurt knew Blaine was holding back tears but couldn't be bothered to hold back his own. Blaine pauses his speech to wipe a tear track on Kurt's face before continuing.
"You are the most amazing man I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. You are one of the strongest and most honorable people I know. I love you so much. You are already my husband in every way that matters to me, but I can't wait to make it official. I am devoted to you for the rest of my life. Our souls were bound as soon as we touched hands for the first time on that staircase. We were always meant to find our way back to each other and I hope we never lose our way. You are the love of my life, the light that guides my way, and my happiness in my saddest times. You are my teenage dream."
Kurt laughs through his tears at that last line. He pulls his hands away from Blaine's, quickly wiping away the rest of his tears.
"B, I can't even begin to tell you how much I love you. I am so so happy to be with you. I can't wait until I can officially call you my husband," Kurt states. He's never been as good with declarations as Blaine has but he hopes it's enough.
Blaine doesn't seem to care as he pulls Kurt into a passionate kiss.
Kurt was finally able to ravage Blaine after that.
One: When They Got Married
The reception had been in full swing with performances from previous and current New Directions members and Warblers. Even Brittany and Santana had sung a beautiful duet dedicated to the newlyweds.
Kurt had gotten his lifelong dream of dancing to Come What May as his first dance with his husband. He refused to let anyone sing it though, so it was the only song of the night that wasn't covered.
After that, everyone took turns dedicating love songs to Kurt and Blaine. The night was filled with nostalgic performances from both show choirs, including Silly Love Songs and of course, Don't Stop Believin'.
Kurt and Blaine had made it a point to let everyone else sing, instead choosing to spend the night dancing with each other. No one dared to interrupt them much, recognizing that they need to be as close as possible. Whenever they weren't with each other though, they were either performing with a group or spending time with friends and family.
Everyone was having a good time enjoying themselves. As the night wound down, Kurt suddenly felt himself abandoned by his husband.
"Dad, have you seen Blaine?" Kurt asked his dad but his dad shook his head.
"He was with you last time I saw him," Burt commented. Kurt frowned in confusion.
Not soon after, they heard the telltale tapping of the microphone.
"Excuse me everyone, if I could please have your attention." Blaine's voice rang out through the microphone as he appeared on stage. Kurt felt himself sagging with relief at the sight of Blaine. His relief quickly turned to confusion when he started wondering what Blaine was doing on stage.
"As most of you know, Kurt and I met at Dalton. What you don't know is that on that same day, I dragged him along through a corridor to the senior commons where the Warblers were doing an impromptu performance." Kurt knows exactly where this is headed, and he makes his way to the stage before Blaine could continue. Once he reaches the stage, he grabs one of the many microphones, interrupting his husband.
"Blaine," Kurt warns. Blaine looks over in surprise.
"Yes, my love?" Blaine asks, deciding to play this moment up for their audience.
"Is this heading where I think this is heading?" Kurt asks.
"Why yes, yes, it is." Blaine smiles. Everyone else was now looking at the couple in confusion, wondering what the hell was about to happen.
"In that case, you may continue." Kurt grants his permission.
"Right, well. I dragged this beautiful man next to me to the senior commons. I told him I knew a shortcut but in reality, I just wanted to spend more time with him. So, of course I took the longest route possible." Blaine pauses, letting their audience laugh before continuing, "I sang Teenage Dream to him that day. The song has since then taken a lot of meaning throughout our relationship. I'll spare you all the details but long story short, I've sung this to him in every major moment in our relationship. Tonight is no exception, so without further ado, hit it!"
The band starts playing the song on command as Blaine starts singing. Kurt stands by the sidelines adoringly, letting Blaine have his moment for now.
Soon enough, Blaine finishes the first chorus and is about to launch into the second verse when Kurt starts singing.
"We drove to Cali and got drunk on the beach. Got a motel and built a fort out of sheets. I finally found you, my missing puzzle piece, I'm complete." Blaine looks over in shock. He clearly wasn't expecting Kurt to join him. Kurt winks at him, clearly ecstatic to finally sing this as a duet.
"Let's go all the way tonight. No regrets, just love. We can dance until we die, you and I, we'll be young forever," Their voices blend beautifully as they belt that last line. K
