Making haste through the forests, to the large estate within her line of vision, Gatomon dashed upon all fours, an expression of concern never leaving her face.
Trying to drown out the cries and pleas of the Digimon around her, the feline Digimon knew she was unable to save anybody, and that only the Digimon who had raised her since she was a Nyamon was the only one she could think of for possible salvation.
Looking around and seeing the Digimon, dread filled Gatomon, to see floating devices they had come to know as Dark Rings clamping around the necks and body parts of the various Digimon around her.
Once a Dark Ring had latched upon a Digimon, it left their eyes to glow with an eerie red and for their minds to fall under the dark power and the enslaving influence of a new evil, the Digimon Emperor.
Too caught up in the Digimon now turned against and chasing after her, to capture and turn her into another Digimon slave, Gatomon failed to take note of the brainwashed Quetzalmon swooping down at her.
Bearing a Dark Ring around its tail and looking upon Gatomon with a similar pair of red eyes, Quetzalmon was left to do as commanded, to attack those who defied the Digimon Emperor.
"Freezing Wave!" Gatomon then heard the Quetzalmon bellow, the expressed rage and fury causing the feline Digimon to turn, just in time to see the icy blast fired down upon her.
Had this been any other Digimon, the icy blast would've struck its target dead on, but having been trained and having endured many battles during her adventures with a certain Digidestined of Light, Kari Kamiya, Gatomon swept past Quetzalmon's energies with a graceful backflip.
Landing however, Gatomon found herself in peril.
Although a cat always landed on her feet, the Digimon of Light was struck once again by the mind controlled Quetzalmon, who slid around and coiled its body around Gatomon's own.
Struggling to free herself from the serpent-like Digimon's hold, her fears growing to see Quetzalmon's maw drawing closer to her and looked ready to finish her off once and for all, the fears residing within Gatomon eased themselves when a familiar voice, a voice she trusted with all her heart, then called out protectively and with might.
"Thunder Bomb!"
With a loud bang and a sudden uproar of explosive energy, the electrical blast struck Quetzalmon in the face, the sudden attack sending the slave Digimon flying backwards and also releasing Gatomon from its grasp.
Landing back onto the ground and turning to her savior and the Digimon she viewed as her mentor and friend, Gatomon couldn't hide her bright smile.
"Wizardmon, you're alright!" The Digimon of Light said, her tone of relief to know Wizardmon hadn't fallen under the Digimon Emperor's control, or worse.
"I am also relieved to see you are safe, Gatomon." Wizardmon replied, the spellcaster Digimon sharing in the relief to Gatomon's well being, before he hurried himself over to his long time friend and apprentice, who then expressed a further faith within his tone, telling the feline Digimon. "And we are not alone."
Turning her attention toward the direction Wizardmon was looking, Gatomon's eyes widened, surprise filling the Digimon of Light, not only see the Digimon of Courage, Agumon, rushing toward them , to assist in their troubles, but Gatomon was further surprised to see a human by Agumon's side, a familiar brunette she hadn't seen in years.
"Agumon? Tai?" Gatomon just managed to express, the return of the Digidestined of Courage left her wondering if her partner was also nearby.
Taking a stand by Agumon's side, his Digivice drawn and ready, Tai looked around the area, scowling at the number of Digimon now turned against them.
"We can catch up later, right now we have bigger problems to deal with." He told Gatomon, scowling to see that amongst the seemingly increasing numbers of slave Digimon, the Quetzalmon Wizardmon had attacked had shook off and recovered from its injuries.
"Let's see if we can match fire with fire. Ready to Digivolve, Agumon?" Tai then asked with a serious tone as he looked down and upon his partner, to see the same seriousness within Agumon's eyes.
"Ready, Tai!" The reptilian Digimon said back and expressed a shared emotion and determination as his partner.
"Agumon, Digivolve to...!" He then declared with a further emotion in his call, but found that despite his efforts, he couldn't sense the power of Digivolution flowing through him, a feeling Tai failed to pick up on himself.
"There is a dark energy around the area, it is preventing you from Digivolving!" Wizardmon told the Digidestined and Digimon of Courage as he sensed the powerful force now blocking the power of the Digivices, the Digivice within Tai's possession remaining in an inactive state.
To Wizardmon's information and knowing that their chances of overpowering such a force was against them, frustrated, but thinking logically, the brunette faced Wizardmon and said. "We need to find shelter."
"Follow me, I know of a safe place." The spellcaster Digimon then informed, this causing Tai to set his Digivice aside and back within his pocket and for him, Agumon and Gatomon to follow after Wizardmon and to safety.
From a ridge and looking down during the conflict between the slave Digimon and those yet to fall under a similar controlled state, a human boy, dressed in a black jumpsuit, decorated with a matching black jacket draped around his body, looked down upon the fleeing Digimon and lone human with a wicked and vicious smirk, the individual looking forward to crushing any who stood in his way.

.
It was around seven in the morning back within the Real World, and currently within Odaiba, and one particular residence, the Digidestined of Hope, TK Ishida was preparing for his classes at the new school he would be attending, Odaiba High.
Slipping on a new hat and remaining with hope, TK was excited to his first day, the blond knowing not only was Odiaba High an exceptional school, but from its location, it would allow him to catch up with his friends, and to even make a few new ones.
"Hey, TK!" A familiar voice called out from behind the blond, who turned and smiled to see his older brother, the Digidestined of Friendship, Matt Ishida, walk up to him and look over his sibling with a caring smile.
"Try and stay out of trouble." Matt said, keeping a care within his expression, which left TK to chuckle a little.
"Matt, it's just a new school. It isn't exactly the same as saving the Digital World." The Digidestined of Hope replied jokingly.
"Still, you should listen to your brother on this." Nancy, the boys' mother, called out from the kitchen as she was busy and hard at work, making sure things were perfect for dinner later when she and her husband would come off work and be able to spend time as a true family later that night.
"I'll be fine mom." TK called in reply, knowing his family were just looking out for one another, but there were times Matt and their mother seemed overly protective.
"You should get ready for class too, slacker." The Digidestined of Hope then told Matt with a further whimsy in his voice.
Looking Matt over, TK continued to smile, to see his older brother wearing his own high school uniform, only Matt hadn't done up his tie just yet, his clothes were a little wrinkled up and he had his jacket casually hanging over his shoulder, opposed to actually wearing the item.
Grumbling in response to TK's teasing, and knowing their mother would be all on him about his appearance, Matt went back to his room to finish changing, while TK exited the apartment and made his way to the elevator.
Entering the elevator and pushing the button to go down to the first floor, the blond acted on instinct, his hand outstretched and keeping the doors from closing as a panicky voice called out. "Hold the elevator!"
Allowing the individual to rush herself inside and to catch her breath, TK took a moment to take in her appearance, seeing the girl had long purple hair and a pair of glasses covering her lively brown eyes.
Dressed in a buttoned up green top and a matching green dress, this being the standard uniform issued to the female students of Odaiba High, this allowed the Digidestined of Hope to express a more open and welcoming side as he flashed the purple haired girl a kinder smile and asked her. "Looking forward to the first day of Odiaba High?"
Having caught her breath and looking the blond considerate enough to not just allow the elevator doors to slam her in the face, the purple haired girl shared in TK's kindness, telling the Digidestined of Hope. "I'm pretty excited, but if the elevator doesn't speed up, we're going to be late."
A little puzzled by the girl's worries and trying to remain supportive, TK pointed out, his voice expressing a further kind and collectivism. "You do know classes aren't until eight, right?."
"I know, but as the head of the Odaiba High school rally committee, it's my responsibility to make sure everyone supports the soccer team as I do." The purple haired girl said in reply, all the while expressing a clear pride in her work.
Looking toward TK, a burning passion filled the purple haired girl's eyes, who then practically insisted. "And it needs to be perfect if I want to impress him!"
Confused only further toward her sudden outburst of passion, and about to ask her who she was talking about, TK felt the elevator come to another halt, the doors opening and revealing a more familiar face, one TK was looking forward to seeing once again, the Digidestined of Light, Kari Kamiya.
"Good morning, TK." Kari said with a continued warmth within her expression and her voice, before the brunette then noticed the company within the elevator, which left her flashing the purple haired girl a sweet, but dangerous smile.
"And good morning to you, Yolei Inoue." The Digidestined of Light said, allowing TK to learn the name of the purple haired girl, but this only furthered the tension he could sense between the girls.
"Morning, Kamiya." Yolei merely said back, expressing less enthusiasm in her voice compared to Kari, but the unsaid hostility only furthered between her and the brunette.
Uncertain to why the atmosphere between Kari and Yolei had changed to a sudden tense situation, one he wasn't too comfortable in, TK looked between the girls, speaking what thoughts came to mind and spoke up. "So... I assume you two know each other...?"
"More or less." Kari replied with a smile as she looked at TK, where the blond still felt the tension between the girls, and wondered what was going on between them.
"We were both listed for the Odiaba High cheerleader squad, but the judges must've made some mistake and allowed Kari a reserve seat." Yolei said in reply, her words causing Kari to smirk slyly, a sight that left TK quite confused.
Throughout their years together and building a close bond as friends, TK had never seen the brunette so confrontational with anyone in his life.
"What can I say? I guess they just saw my talents." Kari said in reply, her smile remaining, but furthering the tension TK felt between the Digidestined of Light and Yolei.
Whatever the cause of this, TK hoped it would work itself out by the time they arrived for their first day at Odaiba High.
.
.
.
About thirty minutes later and talking amongst one another, learning more about Yolei Inoue and some of her interests, the trio arrived around the front of the schoolyard.
While Kari and Yolei went their separate ways, to prepare themselves for their classes, this left TK to roam the outside of Odiaba High and to familiarize himself with the area.
"Heads up!" A voice then called out all of a sudden, the warning causing TK to quickly turn and to see a soccer ball heading straight for his face.
Acting on instinct, the blond quickly brought up his hands and caught the object before it struck him, who then let out a sigh of relief in the process.
Looking around and toward the soccer field, to see where the ball had come from, TK took notice of the maroon haired boy who was currently rushing his way.
Taking in the maroon haired boy's appearance, TK could see the student, though out of uniform, was wearing a red t -shirt, a matching pair of red shorts and a pair of trackshoes, no doubt to TK this boy was one of the players amongst the Odaiba High soccer team Kari and Yolei had talked frequently about during their walk.
However, the most notable feature TK could see upon the student were the set of square framed goggles strapped around his head.
"Great reflexes." The boy then said with a smile, before asking with a further friendliness in his tone. "Ever thought of joining the soccer team?"
"Thanks, but basketball is more my game." The Digidestined of Hope replied, expressing a clear modesty in his voice as he handed the ball back.
"No problem, but if you ever change your mind, just ask." The maroon haired boy said in reply, all the while continuing to share a kindness toward TK.
"By the way, my name is Davis, Davis Motomiya." The student, Davis then said, introducing himself and offering out his hand in a show of friendship, the action TK copied and took the goggleheaded boy's hand into his own, shaking it.
"TK Ishida, nice to meet you." TK replied.
Their introductions out of the way, but remaining curious to Davis' accessory, the Digidestined of Hope had to ask. "So what's with the goggles?"
"Oh this?" Davis asked back as he pointed to his goggles and then said with a smile. "They were a gift from a mentor of mine, Tai Kamiya.I think he gave them to me as a joke, but I really like them. I almost feel like Tai is around me when I wear them."
Now understanding and truly supportive toward Davis' decision, TK then asked. "Oh, you know Tai? I'm actually friends with him, and with his sister, Kari."
"Tai's sister?" Davis asked, putting the name to a face.
"Short brown hair, hazel eyes, about so high and just joined the cheerleaders?" He then questioned, raising his arm to around TK's shoulder height, the description causing the blond to nod in reply.
"That's her alright." The blond said in reply, the warmth in his expression never fading as an idea came to mind. "I think she's at her locker, if you want to meet her?"
"Let's just say I have met her already." Davis merely said back.
"Anyways, I need to get my bag before classes start, it was good meeting you, TK." The maroon haired boy went on to say, expressing a continued friendship in his voice.
TK then watched as Davis ran back to the field, ready to get his bag and change for classes, leaving the blond smiling to have made another new friend.
Upon turning, however, TK was then confused by the sight of a dozen girls watching Davis as he returned for his supplies, hearts filling their eyes.
Puzzled by the group, TK decided to ignore the sight as he made his way into the school and to his first day of classes, unaware of what was in store for him and the friends he had made.
.
.
.
Standing before the boys and girls within his class, TK looked amongst the students with a friendly and welcoming smile.
"I'm TK Ishida, it's nice to meet you all." The blond said, bowing in a show of respect, before facing his teacher, who then said to the Digidestined of Hope.
"And it's great to have you in our class." The teacher replied kindly, before taking a more affirmative role and asking his student. "Now, why don't you take a seat beside Ms. Kamiya?"
With no argument or reason to complain, TK walked past the first row of students and sat beside Kari's left.
"Looks like we're together again." He said happily, glad to be close to a more familiar face.
However, expecting Kari to reply with her own welcoming, TK found the Digidestined of Light wasn't paying any attention to him, her eyes focused ahead of her with a dreamy smile.
Looking ahead of himself and in Kari's direction, TK could see Davis sitting before the brunette, the maroon haired boy paying clear attention to the lesson and even began taking notes.
Looking back at Kari, however, the blond saw the same expression upon Kari's face as the girls from outside, his eyes were then drawn to her notebook and seeing that instead of notes, Kari was scribbling instead.
Scribbled amongst the various pages included heart shapes, with writing such as 'Mrs. Kari Motomiya', 'Kari + Davis' and even a somewhat detailed drawing of Davis' face within one of the corners.
It didn't take long for TK to put two and two together, to realise that Kari was head over heels and in love with Davis Motomiya, surprising the blond to see the brunette act this way with a guy, half expecting this kind of behaviour from Sora when it came to Tai.
But refocusing on the lesson, TK began taking notes himself, mentally knowing that this would be an interesting year.
.
.
.
After the bell rang, their classes having ended for the day, but deciding to remain back at school for some extra study time TK found himself in the school's library and hanging out with Kari, the brunette snapping out of her state of daydreaming once Davis was out of sight, which allowed the two Digidestined to catch up with one another and to study over their class notes.
"So, Davis...?" TK then began to ask teasingly, the mention of the maroon haired boy causing Kari's head to snap up as she began looking around, hoping her crush was nearby.
But realising this was more TK addressing Davis as a topic of discussion than acknowledging his presence, the brunette expressed a similar unsaid hostility as expressed within the elevator as she glared back at TK.
"Don't do that!" Kari quietly snapped.
Surprised, TK found himself with a returning concern to see Kari acting in such a way.
Throughout their adventure and fights against the evils of the Digital World, Kari had never expressed such an ill tempered emotion toward him.
Pushing past Kari's silent outburstand looking over her shoulder, a smile retired upon TK's face, the Digidestined of Hope then saying with a smile. "Hey, Davis."
About to snap at TK again, believing the blond was teasing her again despite her warning, Kari was then silenced as she heard the boy of her dreams say behind her. "Hey there, TK. How was your first day?"
Turning around herself, Kari's face flushed again, her mind turning to a light haze to see the maroon haired boy in her presence.
Looking Davis over, Kari felt her heart rate increase drastically to see the warm smile the maroon haired boy then shared toward her.
"Pretty good." TK replied, answering Davis' question.
"By the way, this is Kari." The blond then said, introducing the Digidestined of Light to the maroon haired boy, the brunette's eyes filling with stars to hear TK formally introduce her to her crush.
Focusing his attention toward Kari and looking over the blushing brunette with an endearing smile, Davis said in reply. "Yes, we met a few years back during a soccer practice session I had with Tai. Nice to see you again."
It took everything Kari had not to squeal in joy to have her crush finally acknowledging her, even showing an attempt to establish a bond with her, while TK sweatdropped at the sight, never having pictured Kari of all people to act as such a fangirl to anyone in her life.
Paying little attention to the way Kari seemed to freeze up around him, witnessing the brunette acting similarly in the past, Davis slid the chair beside Kari and asked politely. "Mind if I join you?"
"Go right ahead." TK said in reply, speaking for himself and on Kari's, the welcoming attitude allowing Davis to take his seat beside Kari, who felt her blush increasing.
'Keep it together, Kari! You fought The Dark Masters and Apocalymon, you can get through this.' Kari mentally scolded herself, the embarrassment she felt furthering to the continued way she acted so off toward Davis.
Unsure of the reason Kari seemed a little distracted, Davis broke the silence and asked the brunette with a curious and kind voice. "So, TK mentioned that you and Tai knew him for a while now, how did that happen?"
Laughing nervously, TK and Kari weren't sure how to respond to Davis' question, each knowing that they couldn't exactly tell the maroon haired boy about their adventure in the Digital World.
Luckily, TK thought past all the events within the Digital World, telling Davis he and Kari had met during the time they had spent alongside Tai at summer camp together, this however, left Davis to ask a few follow up questions.
Although he was just being nice, it was growing harder and harder for TK or Kari to spill their secrets.
.
.
.
Their first study session over and now walking down the hallways of Odiaba High, Davis, TK and Kari were preparing to leave for the day, the Digidestined of Hope and of Light saying their goodbyes to the goggled headed student.
"Alright, I'll catch you guys later." Davis said after retrieving his backpack from his locker.
"Are you sure you can't stay with us?" Kari asked again, the brunette now a lot more comfortable around Davis and able to talk to her crush.
"I'd love to, but I can't skip training." Davis replied, taking his responsibilities and commitments as the captain of the Odaiba High soccer team very seriously.
Closing his locker and looking toward TK and Kari with a soft smile, Davis then told the duo. "We can always hang out tomorrow."
Supportive of Davis' friendship, TK shared his own smile and joked a little in reply. "Right. One day down, just three hundred and sixty four to go."
As the trio made their way to the exit, a loud cry caught their attention as Davis looked to see a ladder before him wobble, and someone setting up a banner fell off.
Acting quickly and rushing ahead, Davis managed to catch the falling girl before she could hit the ground and allowed her to land safely in his arms.
Remaining with his own concerns from the sidelines, TK quickly realised who it was that Davis had caught, to see it was Yolei now in Davis' arms.
From her position, Yolei's face flushed deeply, time seemed to move slower as she looked over the goggle headed boy and her secret crush, who had come to her aid.
"You alright there, Yolei?" He then questioned the girl in his arms, who remained staring at Davis with small hearts in her eyes, to be held within a bridal style position within Davis' arms.
Quick to reply, less Davis thought she was just another of the obsessed girls in his fanclub, Yolei replied with gratitude. "Yes, thank you for saving me, Davis!"
Enjoying the position she was in far too much to give it up so soon, an idea came to the purple haired girl's mind.
Rubbing her thigh, Yolei told Davis. "I think I sprained something. Do you think you could carry me to the nurse?"
From the side, TK looked around and saw the envious expressions coming from all the girls who had caught the sight of the incident as they looked at Yolei in Davis' arms, before his attention turned to Kari, the blond gulping lightly to see the look of pure rage within the brunette's eyes as she glared at the purple haired girl.
It was at that moment that realisation clicked in TK's head as he now understood the tension between the two girls, that both Kari and Yolei had crushes on Davis and were rivals for his affection and love.
"Sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." A younger voice then apologised.
Looking beside the fallen ladder and banner, the group saw a young boy with short brown hair and green eyes, his expression evident he lamented his actions.
After a moment and now knowing where he had seen the boy before, TK quickly realised it was his next door neighbour, Cody Hida.
Approaching the young boy, TK told him with a smile. "It's alright, Cody, no harm was done."
From her position, Yolei meanwhile, was in a cross between anger and thanks to the young boy, anger for almost killing her, and thanks for giving her the opportunity to be in the arms of her beloved, which sadly ended as Davis finally brought her down to her feet.
"You recovered quickly." Kari commented, expressing a faint suspicion within her voice, which left Yolei staring Kari's way, a false smile on her face and replying. "I guess it wasn't as bad as I first thought."
Breaking her suspicions from Yolei, Kari's attention was then drawn toward Cody.
"You're Kari Kamiya, right?" The younger student asked as he looked toward the Digidestined of Light.
Nodding in reply to Cody's question, the brunette then handed a piece of paper to Kari, telling her. "Izzy Izumi asked me to deliver this to you from the computer lab, he said it was from Tai."
Quickly opening and reading over the message, with TK looking over her shoulder, the eyes of the Digidestined widened as they saw what the message said, this causing Kari to say with a seriousness in her voice. "Tai's in trouble."
Concerned for the older Kamiya sibling and not waiting to explain the situation, TK and Kari quickly hurried off and away from Davis, Cody and Yolei.
Remaining curious from the sudden concerns TK and Kari had expressed, and concerned for his mentor, Davis followed the pair toward the computer lab, while Yolei and Cody, both curious from their own perspectives, took off after the three, unaware of what fate had in store for them.

Returning to the Digital World and now deep under Wizardmon's estate, Tai, Agumon, Gatomon and the spellcaster Digimon were joined by the Digimon of Hope, Patamon, who was waiting for them at the entrance as the group now journeyed deep within an underground passage, a section of the domain not even Gatomon knew of.
Amazed to the sanctuary, but remaining respectful toward her mentor, Gatomon asked. "Wizardmon, just what is this place?"
Answering his student's question and continuing to traverse further within, Wizardmon told the feline Digimon and those present. "This is the remains of the Digi-Altar of the Chosen. Before the Digital World was torn apart by the darkness, this entire site was dedicated to watching over another power of Digivolution."
"And only the one who is worthy can remove the Digi-Egg, or so the legend says." The spellcaster Digimon then said, approaching what looked like a white Digi-Egg, only its shape was completely different as it had two horns sticking out of the top.
Bearing a teardrop shaped symbol with a smaller circle within upon its form, a set of small wooden blades rested under and supported the mysterious Digi-Egg, the sight furthering the interest to Tai and the present Digimon.
'And now I am wishing Mimi was here.' Tai then thought begrudgingly as he looked at the Crest upon the Digi-Egg, this being the Crest of Sincerity.
Looking at the spellcaster Digimon, Tai was then filled with some confusion.
"Why weren't we shown this place the last time we were here?" The brunette questioned, failing to understand why Wizardmon held back a power that could have helped them against Myotismon and the Dark Masters.
"Its power was not yours to bear at the time." Wizardmon simply said in reply.
Backing from the Digi-Egg and offering Tai a chance to prove if he was worthy of its power, the Digidestined of Courage slowly approached the sacred item.
"Everything will be fine, Tai." Agumon told his partner with care and reassurance, the trust within his partner's one causing Tai to flash the Digimon of Courage a small smile.
Encouraged not only by Agumon, but by the other Digimon present, Tai gently set his hands upon the side of the Digi-Egg and was about to try and retrieve the item.
The second his hands made contact with the Digi-Egg, however, a sudden light illuminated around the Digi-Egg, which broke into three separate lights and shot out from the area, the sight, although amazing, furthered Tai's confusion and Wizardmon's interest.

Arriving at the computer lab, TK and Kari saw a familiar redhead sitting in front of one of the computers, who, after typing in another series of various codes and commands then turned and let out a sigh of relief to see the Digidestined of Hope and of Light.
"Kari, TK, it's good to see..." Izzy Izumi, the Digidestined of Knowledge, started to say, only to fall silent as he then saw Davis Motomiya and two other kids then rush in and regroup alongside his friends.
"Davis? Why are you here?" Izzy found himself asking, not sure why the soccer team captain had arrived alongside TK and Kari.
"I heard Tai was in trouble and wanted to see how I could help." Davis said in reply.
Before anyone could ask anymore of their questions, however, the screen before Izzy then lit up, shocking the redhead as a trio of lights suddenly shot out and into Davis, Yolei and Cody's hands and forming a new type of Digivice, much to the confusion and awe of the Digidestined present.
Puzzled themselves and looking the items in their hands over, Davis, speaking for himself, Yolei and for Cody then questioned. "What exactly is this thing?"
Kari was shocked, happy and slightly annoyed at the same time, shocked to see that there were three new Digidestined, and overjoyed to see that Davis was one of them, but also annoyed to see that Yolei was one as well.
But looking at the screen and knowing her brother, and possibly Gatomon, were in serious danger, Kari replied as she then expressed her concerns, telling Davis and the others. "We'll explain everything later. Come on Tai needs us!"
Pointing her old Digivice toward the screen, closing her eyes and concentrating her mind, Izzy was then taken aback again as the screen lit up and illuminated through the room.
Surprised Kari was able to find a Digital Gate to the Digital World, Izzy was further astonished, not only to find Kari and TK sucked into the Digital Gate, but to see that Davis, Yolei and Cody were drawn in as well.
Now left alone in the computer lab, the red haired Digidestined of Knowledge tried his best to wrap his head around and to figure out what had just happened, all the while mentally berating himself for leaving his Digivice back home.
.
.
.
Unfamiliar with their new surroundings, deeply confused to how they had seemingly teleported from the computer lab and to a forest, Davis, Yolei and Cody shared a collective puzzlement to their position.
Understanding the confusion of their friends, but somewhat perplexed from their own positions, to see that though the Digital World was almost as they remembered it, their styles of clothing had clear changes.
No longer wearing the standard Odaiba High uniforms, but wearing new clothing all together, TK checked himself out, finding he now wore a teal green jacket over a yellow t-shirt, alongside a pair of blue jeans and a pair of teal trackshoes.
From her own position, Kari found herself wearing a jacket of her own, a white and black detailed outfit around a light pink top, but showing off her body, alongside a pair of yellow shorts, which further showed off her slender appearance.
Had Kari taken the moment to look up, she would have blushed to see Davis taking in her appearance for a moment, before looking to see his own change in attire.
Just as TK and Kari had seemingly replaced their Odaiba High uniforms, the maroon haired boy found himself in a new style of clothing, which featured a sleeveless and light red jacket over a deep blue t-shirt, while a pair of olive green shorts covered his legs.
Feeling around his head, Davis sighed in relief, to feel his goggles still remained fastened around his head, the smiles shared by Kari and Yolei, who then took their sweet time to check Davis out, to take in and admire his muscular arms and legs.
Breaking her attention away from admiring Davis' body, Yolei allowed herself a moment to check out her new attire.
As a deep red top covered her chest, and perked up her breasts, a pair of black shorts covered the purple haired girl's lower region, showing off her slender figure, similar to Kari's own.
Adding to Yolei's sense of fashion and appeal, a saucy red beret adorned her head.
Being the youngest and not overly into fashion, Cody's style of clothing was far more simplistic, with the younger boy now wearing a simple deep purple t-shirt and a pair of beige pants.
Finished checking out the alterations to their clothing, and thinking this could be her chance to impress Davis, Kari told the maroon haired Digidestined and their present company. "Welcome to the Digital World."
"The Digital World? Is this some kind of amusement park or something?" Cody asked with further confusion.
Smiling and understanding Cody's confusion, TK joined in as he helped Kari to explain the Digital World to their new friends, along with their adventures of four years ago, with Davis now understanding the past between the two Digidestined, Cody listening with awe, and Yolei grumbling at how Kari was able to impress Davis.
Withdrawing and looking over the Digivice in his hand, Davis then asked. "So some light chose us to become Digidestined ourselves, to protect the Digital World from some new form of evil?"
"That's pretty much the gist of it." TK said in reply.
Remaining full of questions and hoping TK and Kari had their answers the sound of Davis' new Digivice then made a beeping sound, this drawing the attention of the goggle headed boy and the others.
Holding his Digivice outward for the others to see and looking upon the screen, with what looked to be a map of their location then appeared, highlighting a spot nearby with a blinking red dot.
"Looks like we've got our first point of interest." Kari commented with a further comfort in her tone, the Digidestined of Light looking forward to reuniting with her partner, teaching the new Digidestined all she could and to spend more of her time alongside Davis.
Nodding in reply, Davis then took his initiative, the maroon haired Digidestined taking the lead and escorting TK, Kari, Cody and Yolei through the lush plant life.
Making their way through the forest and getting a better view of their surroundings, to see many of the features of the Digital World similar to their own, this included snack and soda machines, which were just lying around the area and seemed to be fully operational, their cords plugged into the soil and giving the machines power.
The sight, though a little confusing to her, Yolei felt a little thirsty and decided to get herself a drink from the nearby soda machine resting beside a tree.
Having no money on her person and trying her luck, Yolei reached within the vending compartment, only to quickly reel her hand back and to scream frantically from the sudden outpour of green slime creatures, the Digimon known as Numemon.
Freaked and grossed out by the Numemon mass, which paid the humans no attention and continued about their business, the purple haired Digidestined remained in her startled state and cowered behind Kari, the sight of Yolei's panic and in front of Davis left a faint smirk upon the brunette's face.
Hiding behind Kari and refusing to let any of the slime based creatures make any contact with her, Yolei asked. "What are those things!?"
"Those are Digimon." TK replied, adding as he then explained to Yolei and the others. "More accurately they're known as Numemon, a mollusk Digimon which prefer to travel in large groups and aren't too keen on direct sunlight."
Allowing the last of the Numemon to pass and further curious to what to expect of the Digital World and being a Digidestined, Davis remained ahead, leading the group to the map's indication, all the while oblivious that a Dark Ring was close in their vicinity and monitoring their every movement.
.
.
.
Watching from the dark recesses of his base, the dark haired boy now known as the Digimon Emperor sat before a collection of monitors, a dark smile on his face to see the unknown individuals now in the Digital World.
"It appears we have company." A voice then said from the Digimon Emperor's side, revealing a small insect Digimon that resembled a green worm with antennas and legs coiled upon the armrest.
"Then I suppose we'd better send them a welcoming committee." The Digimon Emperor said in reply, all the while typing upon the holographic keyboard ahead of him, displaying the imagery of the countless Digimon now under his force service.
"Yes, this will do." The dark haired boy commented to himself as he looked at the final imagery of one of his servants.
Selecting the image on the screen and deep within the forest, the Digimon in question then opened its eyes, showing the bright red hue within as it sought to find its Master's foes and to eliminate them.
.
.
.
Furthering their adventure into the wilderness and coming to a sudden stop, Davis looked between the map imagery upon his Digivice and the small house ahead of him.
Alongside Davis, Yolei and Cody assumed the building was their location, while TK and Kari expressed further comfort in their expressions.
"That's Wizardmon's old place." TK informed, his tone remaining of hope and telling the new Digidestined. "From the look of things, Wizardmon's still able to keep the enemy away with his energy barrier."
"And if Gatomon and the others would seek shelter, they'd be safest here." Kari added in reply, expressing her own trust within Wizardmon and hoping to reunite with her partner soon.
"Kari/TK!" A pair of voices filled with joy then yelled from the side.
Turning to the joyous voices, Davis and the others found another pair of Digimon rushing over toward them, the warmth of the Digimon caused the Digidestined of Light and of Hope to hold back their tears and to quickly run toward the jubilant Digimon.
"Gatomon/Patamon!" Kari and TK called simultaneously and allowed their Digimon partners into their embraces.
Holding Patamon close to him, TK hugged the Digimon of Hope, who couldn't hide his warm smile, a feeling Kari and Gatomon expressed together as the brunette scooped Gatomon in her arms, spun around a little and then wrapped her arms softly around the feline Digimon.
Showing just how much she had missed Kari, and showing her feline side, the Digimon known to the new Digidestined as Gatomon nuzzled her cheek to Kari's, her purrs growing in affection.
From the side, Davis, Yolei and Cody watched the scene with smile, with the maroon haired boy seeing the bonds TK, Kari and the Digimon seemed to have with one another, before looking to see a familiar face being accompanied by two more Digimon heading towards them.
"Davis? How did you get here?" Tai questioned as he looked amongst the group, the Digidestined of Courage puzzled to see the three new humans amongst Kari and TK.
"I'm not exactly sure, but we think it has something to do with these." Davis said in reply, withdrawing and displaying his Digivice out, the action copied by Yolei and Cody, the sight of which caused the Tai's, as well as Agumon and Wizardmon's eyes, to widen in shock and surprise.
"It seems the Digital World has called upon new champions for this threat." The spellcaster Digimon thought silently as he looked upon the newer model of Digivices.
Curious to the new humans and believing one of them could be linked to unsealing the Digi-Egg of Sincerity and its power, from her position however, Gatomon tensed up to see the item more familiar to her.
"What is going on here anyway?" The Digidestined of Light then asked, wondering what was threatening the Digital World now.
"A being calling himself the Digimon Emperor has been causing havoc and using devices known as Dark Rings to enslave all the Digimon and turn them to his will." Patmamon informed, the Digimon of Hope expressing a growing solemn attitude within TK's arms. "His power also seems to keep us from Digivolving and leaves us helpless."
Sharing in Patamon's lament, but looking over Davis, Cody and Yolei with suspicion, Gatmon removed herself from Kari's embrace and approached Davis, her expression accusatory.
"I've seen the Digimon Emperor using the same kind of Digivice as the ones you own." The feline Digimon then said, her claws drawn as she questioned with further hostility. "Are you three working with him?!"
A little nervous to Gatomon's threatening attitude and wishing to reassure the feline Digimon they were on the same side, Kari then stepped in.
"Gatomon!" She called with a small anger within her tone that her partner would accuse Davis of being the enemy when she just met him.
"It's alright, Kari, her anger is understandable." Davis assured, understanding where the feline Digimon's mistrust was coming from.
Crouching by her side and looking upon Gatomon with a calm expression, Davis then told her with a trusting tone. "I promise you, we are not your enemy, Tai, Kari and TK can vouch for that. In fact, we are here to help in any way we can."
Looking into Davis' eyes and seeing the trust within matching a level of trust established amongst Kari and her friends during their time together, Gatomon nodded in reply.
Although pleased to see Gatomon's tension die down, Wizardmon gathered the attention of Davis and the others, telling the group. "Quickly, we need to get back inside before one of the Emperor's slave Digimon sees us."
To the mention of the term slave Digimon, this furthered the concern within Kari's heart, a feeling TK and the new Digidestined shared.
But listening to Wizardmon's words and following the spellcaster Digimon, the Digidestined and Digimon present made their way back within the protective sanctity of Wizardmon's domain.
Upon entering and after being led to the altar hidden deep within the sanctuary, TK, Kari, Davis, Cody and Yolei saw the Digi-Egg resting ahead of them, the sight left the Digidestined further intrigued.
"We believe that amongst all of you, one was chosen to master the power of this Digi-Egg." Wizardmon told TK, Kari, Davis, Cody and Yolei, who remained in a shared and understandable state of bewilderment.
"Tai touched the Digi-Egg and three lights came out of it." Patamon then informed, the added information Patamon provided caused Davis, Yolei and Cody to then withdraw and look upon their Digivices, now understanding what the lights were.
Curious, Kari asked. "Has anyone else tried to remove it?"
"I already tried, and the thing wouldn't even budge for me." Tai informed his sibling, before Agumon added. "And it appears to only show some interaction when a human makes contact."
Looking amongst the Digidestined, both the newer and more familiar within the group, and knowing the kindness within his heart, the Digidestined of Courage focused his attention upon TK, offering the blond. "TK, why don't you give it a go?"
Approaching the Digi-Egg and planting his hands firmly on the sides, TK gave his own attempt to withdraw the legendary item from its sealed state, but found that like Tai, the Digi-Egg seemed to disapprove of his worth.
"Nothing." TK sighed, rejoining Kari and the others and then commenting. "I guess someone else was meant to use this power."
Thinking for a moment and remembering that there were newer faces amongst the group, Tai looked to Davis, a confident expression gracing the brunette's face as he then said to the maroon haired boy. "Alright Davis, you're up."
About to approach the Digi-Egg of Sincerity, but coming to a sudden halt, the goggle headed Digidestined turned back, facing Kari and Yolei.
"Why don't you two give it a shot first?" He suggested, trying to express his continued confidence within his female friends and viewing the girls as valiant members amongst their newformed team.
Flattered by Davis acting further as a true gentleman, Kari and Yolei stepped forward and approached the Digi-Egg together.
Placing her hands upon the Digi-Egg of Sincerity and making sure she had a firm grip, Kari prepared herself physically and mentally.
Her mind drifting ahead of herself, Kari saw herself uplifting the Digi-Egg of Sincerity with ease, the sight of her clear worth as the chosen Digidestined causing Davis to cheer her on.
However, before she could pull the Digi-Egg and carry out her daydream, Kari looked to see another pair of hands upon the item, to see ahead of her was Yolei, who too had taken hold of the Digi-Egg and was glaring Kari down.
Returning the glare and both refusing to relinquish their hold over the Digi-Egg of Sincerity, Kari and Yolei thrust themselves upward, the pair trying to outdo the other and to uproot the item from the altar.
Losing their grips however, Kari and Yolei each found their efforts unsuccessful, the girls falling back and landing on their butts.
Placing his hand over his eyes, Tai expressed a small, but frustrated sigh at the scene before him, the Digidestined of Courage well aware of Kari and Yolei's rivalry and crushes on Davis, and knew that played a big part in the small struggle before him.
Frustrated in themselves, that they had humiliated themselves and in front of Davis nonetheless, the dissatisfaction Kari and Yolei each shared within quickly faded when the girls saw their crush crouching before them and holding his hands out.
"That was a nice try and a smart idea to do it together." The goggle headed Digidestined said, trying to be supportive toward Kari and Yolei as the girls placed a hand upon Davis' and allowed their crush to return them to their feet.
Once again, Tai lightly grumbled as he placed his hand over his eyes, now frustrated at Davis either being oblivious or not caring that the girls were fighting over him.
'Then again...' The Digidestined of Courage then thought to himself as a certain orange haired girl, one he was more than certain had a crush on him, came to mind, which left him to express some understanding in his thought process. 'I'm not one to judge.'
With no successes in removing the legendary item from its sealed state and seeing the humans and Digimon present showing their support his way, it was Davis' turn.
Grasping the Digi-Egg and giving a great pull, the maroon haired Digidestined was taken aback when he easily removed the Digi-Egg from its sealed state, the sight of which astonished everyone else present.
The bewilderment then grew as a great pillar of light shot out of the altar, which glowed with a powerful shade of light blue, before the group saw a new being, a Digimon, form within.
Rising from out of the deep hole hidden beneath the seal revealed a small and blue skinned draconic-like Digimon whose height matched Agumon's own.
Taking in the appearance of the new Digimon, he had pointed ears and small yellow markings around his eyes, with a most notable V shaped mark upon his forehead.
His body coiled up and looking to be in a state of suspended animation, the Digimon then opened his eyes, revealing a deep red and bright shine within his pupils, before spreading his limbs out, allowing himself to move freely after being sealed away for so long.
As everyone else present looked upon the new Digimon with awe, Gatomon in particular felt her cheeks flush as she looked upon the V marked Digimon, where a lone thought roamed in her mind. 'Wow... he's kind of cute...'
Landing on the altar and allowing his vision to adjust to the sights, and to those present, the new Digimon looked to Davis with a bright smile, before bowing respectfully as he then said to the maroon haired boy. "It's an honour to finally meet you, Davis. I am Veemon."
Remaining in his state of surprise and now knowing the name of the entity sealed beneath the Digi-Egg, Davis overcame his initial astonishment and returned the kindness the Digimon known as Veemon had expressed.
His hand gestured out and expressing a welcoming smile, the goggle headed Digidestined said back. "It's nice to meet you, Vee..."
Watching the bond now established between Davis and Veemon, to see the pair already getting along so well brought a comfort amongst the others.
"A Veemon?" Wizardmon said with shock, adding as he mused to himself. "I thought they were just legends."
Before anyone could ask their questions to the unsealed Digimon, however, the entire chamber began to shake violently, the trembling causing Yolei to rush over hand hold onto Davis in her panic, much to Kari's anger, as the purple haired girl called out. "What is happening?! Is this an earthquake?"
"No, the outer perimeter is under attack!" Gatomon informed in concern.
Although the Digimon of Light knew Wizardmon's defensive magics were quite formidable in repelling attackers, there were only a few types of Digimon in the area which could cause such a ruckus, and they were no doubt under the Digimon Emperor's control.
Deciding not to just sit back and allow the attacker to continue in their assault, the Digidestined and their Digimon partners vacated the sanctuary and Wizardmon's domain, arriving back outside to see a hulking behemoth of a Digimon smashing its fists upon Wizardmon's magical barrier, trying to break it down and get inside.
Taking in the appearance of the attacking Digimon, a gargantuan sized being with a body made of rock, which continued to slam furiously against the magical barrier, a dark fog poured from out the four smoke stacks on its back.
"That's Golemon!" Agumon declared as he looked to the new Digimon, before seeing a familiar item, a Dark Ring, around the rock Digimon's left arm, as well as his glowing red eyes, letting the Digidestined and the Digimon know that golemon was under the Digimon Emperor's control.
"What it lacks in brain power, it more than makes up for in attack power. One hit from its Rock Punch and it's lights out!" Patamon added, the Digimon of Hope expressing his own warning toward TK and the others.
With another loud and powerful roar, the Golemon then slammed his fist once again into the barrier, causing it to shatter like glass, before the enslaved rock Digimon then moved inside, his red eyes glaring down at the Digidestined, their partners and Wizardmon.
Bringing his right arm up and swinging his fist back down upon the Digimon he now perceived as enemies, Golemon tried to crush Agumon and the others.
"Rock Punch!" He bellowed as his fist struck the ground, the impact of his attack causing the ground around his fist to collapse and shatter apart.
Managing to just avoid the destructive might of Golemon, Agumon, Gatomon, Patamon and Veemon all charged toward their opponent, uniting their attacks in an attempt to stop the rampaging Digimon.
"Pepper Breath!"
"Lightning Paw!"
"Boom Bubble!"
"Vee-Headbutt!"
As Agumon and Patamon kept some distance in their attacks, casting forth a combination of flame and air upon Golemon, Gatomon stuck close to Veemon, acting as both his guide and backup as the pair prepared to deliver a set of powerful right hooks to the device binding Golemon to the Digimon Emperor's will.
Despite their united efforts and their determination, the strength of the Dark Ring was greater than the Digimon had anticipated, astonishing the Davis and the others to see their attacks didn't even scratch the surface of the wicked device.
In response to the Digimon attacking him, Golemon then brought his left arm up and swiped forward, his fist almost striking upon Gatomon.
But acting on instinct and to ensure the safety of his new friends, Veemon quickly wrapped his arms around the Digimon of Light.
Pressing himself around the feline Digimon and holding her close and pushing his body from the attack, the sight causing the others to let out sighs of relief as the pair dodged the strike from Golemon's relentless pummeling.
From her position within Veemon's arms and feeling his hold only tighten around her, amongst the emotions dwelling within her, Gatomon felt her face flushing and her heart racing.
Time almost seemed to slow down and stop as she gazed upon Veemon as the V marked Digimon kept his eyes ahead and focused for a safe position to land.
Although they had just met, but certain of the feelings growing within her, Gatomon knew she was in love, and that Veemon was meant to be her mate.
Breaking from the sudden romantic state she was in, after Veemon guided her back to her feet, the Digimon of Light turned back to Golemon, who continued in his onslaught.
"Magical Game!" Wizardmon then announced as the spellcaster Digimon joined in the battle.
Refusing to allow his student or those he had befriended any harm,Wizardmon withdrew his sceptre and released a series of thunderbolts from the weapon upon Golemon.
Although his power was above many Champion Level Digimon, the spellcaster Digimon saw his attacks had no effect on the rock Digimon's being, the blasts of thunder repelled by the thickness of Golemon's body.
Further infuriated by the attacks, Golemon brought his arms up once again, his hands clenching together as he swung his fists down and together in a further display of rage and power, which further tore up and destroyed the area around Wizardmon's domain.
In an attempt to retreat and to ensure Gatomon didn't have to worry about her, Kari tripped over a section of debris torn up from Golemon's pummeling which was sticking out of the ground.
The brunette let out a pain-filled cry as she fell forward, the small scream drawing the rock Digimon's attention, as well as the others, who looked in fear as the giant Digimon made his way toward the fallen Digidestined of Light.
Concerned for his sibling, Tai yelled with panic. "Kari, hurry and run for it!"
"I can't... I think I sprained my ankle..." Kari said through her clear pain, clenching her hands around her lower leg and looking to see Golemon advancing her way.
Worried about her position and believing she would be the first human casualty to this Digimon Emperor, bewilderment and confusion filled Kari when she saw Davis rush ahead of her and spread his arms out in a protective stance, all the while keeping the Digi-Egg of Sincerity grasped firmly within his right hand.
Expressing her shock, Kari expressed her concerns further, telling the goggle headed Digidestined. "Davis, what are you doing? Run away!"
Keeping his back to Kari, the confusion within the Digidestined of Light furthered to see Davis refusing to budge.
"I don't back down from defending those I care about." Davis told the Digidestined of Light, his words causing Kari to fall silent and to allow the maroon haired Digidestined to further express his bravery. "Kari, you're my friend, and I will keep you safe."
Taking Davis' words to heart, Kari felt her cheeks flush with a bright blush, her heart rate increased as she looked upon her crush with a newfound and deeper love.
To hear Davis tell her that he cares about her, Kari knew that in her heart that they were meant to be together.
Meanwhile, as if reacting to his emotion, the Digi-Egg of Sincerity illuminated with another powerful flash of light blue energy, the sight leaving Kari, Gatomon and the others in further awe, this even surprising Davis, who looked upon the aura infused Digi-Egg.
From his position, Davis felt the power surging through the Digi-Egg of Sincerity, but was unsure what to do with it.
"Davis, if you want to use the Digi-Egg's power, call out Digi-Armour Energize!" Veemon then told his new partner.
Doing as Veemon instructed and guided by his determination to protect Kari, Davis brought his arm and the Digi-Egg of Sincerity forward, announcing with a further might. "Digi-Armour Energize!"
Reacting himself to Davis' call, Veemon's body was consumed by the power now released from the Digi-Egg of Sincerity, the sight leaving the maroon haired Digidestined, Wizardmon and all witnessing the events play out in further amazement and intrigue.
"Veemon Armour Digivolve to..." The V marked Digimon declared, expressing a further might in his voice as his being was then altered by the great power within the Digi-Egg of Sincerity.
Standing in place of Veemon was another new Digimon, its appearance resembling a mighty warrior clad in a pair of light grey pants which remained fastened in place by a set of black belts.
Green ropes were wrapped around the new form of Veemon's further developed chest, supporting a small plush bear upon his back
And even though the Digimon's face was concealed by a white mask which supported a set of spiked horns, there remained an unyielding spirit within his eyes.
Showing his skilful swordsmanship, through the two wooden blades within his grasp the new form of Veemon swung the blades around with swift and graceful movements, before he then announced his name, to allow his friends and his enemies to know who he was. "Yasyamon, the Twin Swords of Sincerity!"
Taking in Veemon's Digivolved form, Davis, Cody and Yolei were in awe, the trio bewildered to how the small V marked Digimon was able to alter his form in such a way, while Wizardmon and the more experienced to Digivolution shared a similar astonished expression.
"He... he Digivolved?" Patamon found he had to ask, surprised to see that Veemon had managed to break through whatever power the Digimon Emperor had used to block his own Digivolution.
Although Yasyamon's appearance would no doubt assist in their conflict, the Digimon of Hope remained puzzled as to how Veemon was able to become this new Digimon.
"Armour Digivolution." Wizardmon told the Digidestined and their partners.
Having only heard of such a power in ancient scripture and legends,Wizardmon believed he'd never bear witness to this form of Digivolution.
From his position and seeing the small draconic Digimon had changed form/Digivolved, Golemon turned his focus to the new foe.
And through the Dark Ring, watching and witnessing this turn of events, the Digimon Emperor found himself intrigued.
"It seems they found a way to get past the Digivolution Blocker." The dark being commented, only to smirk as he then stated. "No matter, they'll be crushed all the same. Destroy them, Golemon!"
Obeying the Digimon Emperor and bellowing with another fierce roar, the smokestacks on Golemon's back erupted with the dark mist, the majority of the fumes gathering within the Rock Digimon's mouth.
"Sulfur Plume!" Golemon declared as the dark heated mist shot toward Yasyamon and looked ready to consume the Digimon of Sincerity.
Remaining in place and countering the attack, Yasyamon brought his wooden blades together as they glowed a dark blue aura.
"Double Strike!" Yasyamon announced in retaliation as he swung his wooden blades forth and created a cross shaped blast of blue energy that then surged forwards.
Striking through the dark mist and striking Golemon in the face, the power from Yasyamon's attack caused the rock Digimon to stumble backward from the pain inflicted to his being.
Quickly regaining his barings, Golemon then moved to strike the Digimon of Sincerity head on.
"Rock Punch!" The controlled Digimon declared with a further fury as he slammed his fists down and upon Yasyamon.
However, to the enslaved Digimon's annoyance, Yasyamon easily dodged the onslaught of Golemon's punches, the Digimon of Sincerity moving at speeds the other Digimon and the Digidestined could barely keep up with as he struck at Golemon from various sides, moving faster than he could react.
From her position and finally snapping out of her stupor to see the handsome and mysterious form that was Yasyamon clashing against Golemon, Gatomon looked upon the Digimon of Sincerity, telling the evolved form of Veemon. "Yasyamon, destroy the Dark Ring!"
Taking in Gatomon's words and nodding in reply, Yasyamon then turned to face Golemon, just as the rock Digimon's fist slammed into what he thought was his foe.
Delivering another earth shattering strike and causing the ground around his fists to burst in an uproar of dirt and debris, Golemon believed he had finished off his opponent.
However, to Golemon's shock, Yasyamon emerged from the dust and ran up the rock Digimon's arm, where he then leaped off and brought his blades together once again/together in a final attack.
"Double Strike!" The Digimon of Sincerity announced as he unleashed another powerful blast of blue energy that came crashing into the Dark Ring, the impacting force of Yasyamon's attack causing the device to shatter into pieces and fade from existence.
Instantly, Golemon's eyes turned from a glowing red to a pair of soft and kinder blue eyes, the rock Digimon blinking in confusion as to where he was or how he got there.
Landing back on the ground and back on his feet, Yasyamon bowed respectively to his puzzled opponent, before his body was enveloped in blue energy and his being reverting back to Veemon.
From his position and dropping his more protective stance before Kari, Davis looked on, watching as the blue energy released from off of Veemon's body then shot into his hand which then turned into a strange white palm held computer.
Looking the device over and remaining in surprise, Davis found the Digi-Egg of Sincerity displayed upon the screen.
"Thank you, Davis." Veemon said as he approached his partner and extended his hand in a further gesture of friendship and bonding. "We make a good team."
"That we do." Davis replied with a smile as he knelt down to Veemon's level, took his new partner's hand and shook it.
From her perspective, Kari smiled at the sight of Davis and his new partner bonding after their first battle, before blushing as the maroon haired boy picked her up bridal style, much to Yolei's inner rage.
"Let's get you somewhere where we can check on that ankle." The Digidestined of Sincerity suggested, while Tai and TK both sweatdropped at the sight.
.
.
.
A short while after seeing Golemon off, reinforcing his protective barrier and allowing Kari to to rest for a moment, Wizardmon and the Digimon escorted the Digidestined toward an old television monitor, the spellcaster Digimon informing the group that the screen would act as a Digital Gate and would take them all home and back to the Real World.
The injury not as bad as first thought, but concerned for Wizardmon, Gatomon and the Digimon, Kari asked. "Will you guys be alright?"
"We'll be fine." Gatomon replied, the feline Digimon reassuring her partner. "For some reason, the Digimon Emperor doesn't strike during the night."
"That's a little odd." Cody commented and found he wasn't exactly sure what to make of the piece of information.
"We'll be back tomorrow, I promise." Davis said to Wizardmon and the other Digimon, before looking at Veemon and asking his partner. "Vee, please watch over them."
"You can always count on me, Davis." Veemon replied with confidence in his tone, this causing Gatomon to beam happily as she looked over the V marked Digimon, hoping to be able to spend some time with him and get to know him better.
Saying their own goodbyes and turning around, Tai then aimed his Digivice at the monitor, which lit up and drew the humans within, each promising to return and reunite as soon as they could and to continue their fight against the Digimon Emperor.
.
.
.
Back in the computer lab, and seeing that the group still wasn't back, Izzy began to panic, not sure how to contact Tai, TK, Kari or the newer Digidestined, and was worried he might have to call the others in.
However, the redhead then looked up just as the computer screen lit up, before Izzy groaned as he soon found himself buried underneath Tai and the others, who landed right on top of him.
"That was amazing! I can't wait to go back!" Cody told the others with a growing enthusiasm within his voice, this causing the others to smile at hearing the younger boy's excitement.
Davis, meanwhile, looked to his new Digivice as he thought about Veemon, knowing that this adventure had only just begun.
.
.
.
Rewatching the battle between Golemon and Yasyamon, to see the final moments before the screen was overtaken with static, the Digimon Emperor kept a grin on his face, actually amused by how the battle had played out.
"Looks like things just got interesting." The small Digimon beside the Digimon Emperor remarked as he watched the battle.
"You're right about that, Wormmon." The Digimon Emperor remarked, lightly petting the small insect Digimon's head and then declaring with a sinister smile. "But in the end, we'll crush them all."
