Chapter 16: Secret of the Golden Egg
The month of December has passed as the month of January has arrived. Despite the holiday festivities, that didn't stop the teachers giving out holiday homework as they dreaded doing all the work of course. But it's even more stressful considering that on February 24th, the second task begins, as the golden egg the champions won in the first task holds the secret. "How are you holding up, with finding the secret of the egg?" Hermione asks her best friend/boyfriend. Yup it turns out that after the Yule Ball, the two actually started dating, although they're taking it slow as they're still young. Naruto turns to her looking a little bit stressed, "So far, I feel like I'm stuck in a roadblock, cause every time I open the egg, it always screeches," he said. Naruto sighed, "Honestly, I don't know if I'm going to pass the second task or not, cause this whole thing is keeping me up all night, and we still haven't found out who put mine and Harry's name in the goblet."
"Maybe you should take a break Naruto? You know, clear your mind from this whole thing," Hermione offered. "Yeah you're probably right. Oh I know let's go to the Howling Forest, I could use a nice change of pace," Naruto said. So the two decided to go to the Howling Forest, with Naruto carrying the golden egg as he figured he could probably ask the wolves if they knew what it was. The two were summoned to the realm and were greeted by Thorn and… the Quetzalcoatl?! "Uh Thorn, what's the Quetzalcoatl doing here?!" Naruto asked, not that he was glad that his new summon was in this realm. "Right, I forgot to mention that since you have both the Wolf and Dragon Summoning contract, these two realms have converged together, meaning the Wolves and Dragons belong here together," Thorn explained. "So Quetzalcoatl, how's this realm working out for ya, now that I can summon both of you guys?" Naruto asked. "Eh it's not bad… it's just that it has been a while since we had an Uzumaki that can hold two summoning contracts, so if anything it feels kind of weird, but at the same time kind of refreshing ya know," Quetzalcoatl stated. "How are the other dragons doing or feeling, after I became one of your new summoners?" Naruto asked. The Quetzalcoatl smirked, "So far the dragons aren't complaining, and if anything, some of the dragons want you as their personal summoner, as you have gained their respect after what I have told them about you." Naruto was thoughtful, "You know, one of these days you got to show me the other dragons as I want to meet them," Naruto stated. "Don't worry kid, you are always welcome to see us," Quetzalcoatl stated.
"Anyways, what brings you two over here?" Thorn asked. Hermione explained everything, including the golden egg, which intrigues the two giant summons. "Why didn't you say so? You know, Naruto, we could help you out with this clue," both Thorn and Quetzalcoatl offered. "Wait really, you guys can help me out with this?" Naruto asked, as the two nodded. "Naruto, what you have to do is go inside a pool of water, with the egg of course, and then you will find the secret," Thorn explained. "Ok then lead the way!" Naruto proclaimed as both him and Hermione were following the wolf and dragon to where they were leading the two. They arrived at a lake that was nearby the forest. "Ok Naruto, do you by any chance have swimming trunks?" Thorn asked as she along with Quetzalcoatl don't want to see their summoner's junk. Naruto nodded, but then he remembered that Hermione was there as well. "Uh Hermione… can you… you know…" Naruto was trying to say what he wanted to say, but was having a difficult time explaining it. "O-oh y-yeah sure…" Hermione said blushing as she knew what Naruto was trying to say. She went to the forest and closed her eyes as Naruto changed. "Ok you can come out now," Naruto said as Hermione came out of the forest, and boy she was surprised. 'Hot damn I really got lucky!' Hermione thought as she blushed, while trying to not get an anime nosebleed. Naruto was really ripped from all that training, as he had developed a six pack. Luckily Naruto was clueless as to what she was thinking, "Uh is something wrong?" he asked obliviously. "Um n-nothing…nothing wrong is-happening, besides don't you have to see what the secret of the egg is?" she asked. Naruto nods, "Right, well here I go then," he said as he ran to the lake and jumped inside, with the egg in his hand.
Naruto was in the water as he looked at the golden egg. However the golden egg wasn't actually a golden egg. It was just a shell casing revealing an egg shaped globe from the inside. But Naruto heard something from the egg and it was some sort of melody. 'Is this… a song?' Naruto thought to himself as he kept hearing the melody. The egg globe was showing something, and from what it looks like, something was happening underwater, as there was something swimming. From what it looks like, it was a half woman and half fish like creature. As Naruto kept looking closer the creature turned and scared the living crap out of him as it bared its sharp teeth and hideous eyes as it screeched. "Ahhhh!" Naruto screamed as he went back to the surface and headed to the mainland. "Naruto! Are you ok?!" Hermione asked worryingly as she went to see what was wrong with her boyfriend. Naruto was hyperventilating, but after Hermione calmed him down, he was back to normal. "I found out… the clue for the second task," Naruto stated, which surprised Hermione.
"What is the clue you found?" she asked. "The clue for the second task is to find what we miss, and we have to take it back, before the time finishes, or else it will never come back. From what I heard, it sounded like a song, but what I saw was horrible, it was a hideous creature lurking in the water," Naruto said. This intrigued the two as they wondered what it all meant, but soon they headed back to the dorm. They found Harry and Ron and explained everything about this clue. So far this further complicates things.
