Chapter 3: Ruby's awakening

I was the first one to wake up after what happened yesterday, still coming to terms if everything that happened was real or not, I mean human sized Eevees standing up like people and being capable of speaking human language is kinda hard to believe and would definitely land me in the nut house if I dared to tell someone, IF Eleanor doesn't kill me first

NOTE: Eleanor was the one that threatened Jacob in the first chapter

While I laid there still trying to get a grip on reality wondering if any of this was real or not, I hear movement followed by a groan and look to see that Ruby was finally starting to wake up

"Ow, my head" she said as she sat up slowly while rubbing her head "Wait a minute" she finally realized she wasn't outside "Where am I?" she said with a bit of panic in her voice

"Uh..." She quickly looks at me and gets ready to attack before I raise my hands up in panic

"Wait wait wait I'm friendly!" I yelled, she still looked like she was about to attack but her eyes softened slightly

"Where are my sisters and who are you?" she said

"I'm Jacob I live here and if you look down, you'll see your sisters are here too, they went to sleep watching over you" She finally relaxed after looking over her little sisters and smiling.

"How did we get here?" she asked.

"If you don't remember, you were nearly crushed alive by a tree that got hit by a bolt of lightning and I helped them get it off of you after hearing one of them cry out" I said.

"Huh, that might have been Grace since I pushed her out the way and took the hit for her and I assume they told you their names while I was out" she said.

"Yeah...Eleanor told me" I said as I scratched the back of my head in embarrassment.

"of course, she did" she said as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Well thanks for helping but we need to go as soon as everyone wakes up" she said.

"Wait why?" I asked, she had a serious look on her face.

"Look I and most likely my sisters have already told you enough but we're still in trouble and if we stay here it's going to be your trouble too" she said seriously.

"But don't you think being out in the open in broad daylight is even more dangerous if your being hunted? I mean I'm pretty sure Alola doesn't have many good places to hid at, besides I don't think whoever is chasing you is gonna randomly go around knocking on doors and asking people if they've seen human sized Eevees without looking crazy." I said. she looked skeptical for a bit before continuing.

"Alright but tell me how you plan on hiding 8 jumbo sized Eevees in here" she said.

"This mansion is big enough to have more then 15 people in it so I think hiding 8 super intelligent Eevees capable of speaking human language inside of it won't be very hard" I said. she was taken by surprise after being told how big the place is.

"how did you end up with a house this big!?" she said full of surprise, Her expression suddenly changed after seeing I got sad after remembering something.

"I inherited it from my grandmother who passed away a year ago, she had this mansion because she was a retired Pokémon world champion and gave it to me, and to this day I still haven't found out why and I still haven't figured out what caused her death, but all I remember is her telling me that the most unlikeliest of things can bring a blessing in disguise" I said with a smile on my face as I remembered her words before she passed but I was interrupted after suddenly feeling a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm...sorry about your loss...I know how you feel" she said in a sympathetic voice.

"Did something similar happen to you?" I asked. This time it was Ruby's turn to be sad and I jumped a bit after seeing a tear in her eye before she brushed it away.

"Oh! I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"I was stopped by Ruby putting her finger over my lips.

"It's ok... you didn't know, I want to tell you but...I don't know if I trust you enough," she said taking her finger away from my lips. "but hopefully I can tell you in the future," she said with a small smile.

"What about your little sisters? they said they don't have the whole story." I said. she looked over her sisters with a sad smile on her face.

"They aren't ready to know yet...especially grace...it would break her heart" she said as she looked at the littlest Eevee curled up next to Eleanor, I looked at Ruby and smiled

"I may have just officially met you but I can tell that your a great elder sister" she smiled back at me until we both heard the others getting up.

"Ahh~ that was the best sleep I've had in ages!" Layla said as she got up and stretched out before looking at where Ruby was sleeping before panicking "GUYS WAKE UP RUBY IS MISSING!" she yelled as she ran around violently shaking everyone awake, completely unaware of me and Ruby sitting on the sofa in front of them.

"Ahem" Ruby cleared her throat to get everyone's attention...which probably wasn't the best idea because of what happened after she got it.

"RUBY!" they yelled. I managed to jump out off the sofa as Ruby got jumped on by her little sisters.

"OW! I'M STILL SORE!" Ruby yelled out, causing them to get off her and apologize.

"Sorry it's just we're so happy that your ok!" Stella said happily while the others agreed.

"d-does this mean we have to leave?" Grace said in a sad tone.

"No" I said as I stood up causing them to stare at me in shock "Ruby told me what you all been through and I can't imagine being on the run for more then ten years while living in fear, if you'd like it I well let you stay here as long as you want, there is more then plenty of room here" I said.

Everyone was quiet till Grace ran up to me and hugged me, surprising me.

"t-thank you...Jacob" she said while hugging me

"Your welcome" I said back.

"Are you sure you don't mind us staying here? Victoria said.

"of course! I can't just leave you girls to be hunted again after hearing everything you've been through" After I said that it was my turn to get jumped on by Stella with Grace just barely getting out of the way.

"THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!" Stella yelled while squeezing me.

"OW OW OW!" I yelled in pain.

"Alright get off him before he changes his mind" Ruby said as her and Grace stood to the side the whole time.

"Sorry" Stella said as she got off me while Grace helped me up.

"And now you know how I felt" Ruby said with a teasing smile on her face.

"It's ok, I'm sure I'll get used to it" I said as I stretched to ease the pain where Stella squeezed me at a bit "Alright! everyone ready for a tour of the house?"
