It was... awkward at the dinner table. Luz and Amity sat on one side and their siblings sat on the other side. The parents could see the tension with ease.
'This silence could kill a Slitherbeast.' Eda thought before she decided to start a new conversation.
"So, how was everyone's day? Anything interesting happen at school for you kids?" Eda asked them.
"No." They all said.
"Okay…..what about after school?" Eda asked them.
"No." They all said.
Though that was a small lie, Luz didn't want to share her date with her family. Even if Skara and Emira already knew because the former was turned into a purse and forced to go as an accessory.
"Well, it seems that everyone is a little tense." Camila said, "I think this would be a good time to talk about everything that happened over the past few days."
"What's more to talk about? We all know what happened." Amity said, glaring at her older siblings.
"Now Mittens-"
Odalia was cut off, trying to stop any arguments clearly didn't work as Amity stood up.
"Shut up." Amity said, "These three caused Luz to get hurt, that isn't something that I'll forget overnight!"
"Do NOT tell your mother to shut up!" Eda said as she comforted a shocked Odalia.
"We're not saying you should forget it; we're just saying this needs to be properly talked about or things will never heal between you." Camila said.
"Maybe things won't heal." Amity said.
"Amity, we didn't-"
"Don't even say you didn't mean to; you know exactly what you three did." Amity said.
While this was going on, Luz snuck away and went to her workshop. Once again, she felt like the main source of conflict in her family and didn't want to deal with hearing it again. Not unless she gets the stupid thought of leaving the mansion again. She slid down the wall and cried, this is really a horrible place she's found herself in.
'Why did I have to open my big mouth?' Luz thought, remembering how she forced her siblings to reveal who they were dating.
Luz used her good arm to wipe the tears away.
"I really am the world's worst sibling."
Suddenly, she felt arms wrapped around her in a hug.
"No, you're not, kitten." Raine said, holding their daughter close.
"H-h-how did you get in here?" Luz asked.
"Don't tell Edalyn this but I picked up on some of her lock picking back in our youth. I saw you I slip away during the commotion and came to check on you." Raine said as they brought Luz into their shoulder. "And right now, I'm glad I did."
"Why did this have to happen?" Luz asked.
"I'm not sure, kitten but it was never your fault." Raine said as they caressed her hair.
"Then why does it feel like it?"
"Because you keep thinking that blaming yourself will make things right when you know they won't." Raine said as they kissed Luz's forehead.
"Will this ever get fixed?"
"It will. Just have faith and stay strong, like always. You're so much stronger than we were in our youth. Me and your mothers." Raine said as they continued to hold each other.
Luz cried until she fell asleep in Raine's arms. Raine saw she was asleep and gently picked Luz up to carry out of the workshop upstairs. No doubt everyone noticed they were gone by now and they could now put their worries at ease. Raine went up the stairs and placed Luz into the bed.
"Good night, my little potioneer." Raine said.
Raine exited her room and closed the door softly before heading to their room. This was going to be a very awkward few weeks. As Raine got to their bed room, they found all of their wives waiting for Them with angry/concerned looks in their faces.
"Where were you?" Eda asked.
"I saw that Luz slipped away during the argument and went to check in her." Raine said, "You couldn't possibly expect me to let her go and not see if she's alright."
"We didn't but you could've told us you did. We were worried." Odalia said to them.
"Plus, if Camila didn't calm things down at the dinner table, it would've ended in a foot fight." Eda said as she shivered a bit. "That would've been one nasty mess."
"I don't know how this situation is going to end." Camila said.
"With them being on good terms again but it won't be easy." Odalia said.
"Can't you look into the future to see into the future to make it easier?" Eda asked Odalia, being an Oracle witch and all.
"Yes, but that is dangerous." Odalia said, "I only look a couple hours into the future in order to avoid messing something up."
"Shit." Eda said as she collapsed in the bed. "There to be something we can do or else our kids will hate each other forever."
"We'll think of something." Odalia said, "We have to."
The parents continued to talk about potential ways to help their kids make up, mainly trying to get Amity to not be so angry at her older siblings even though it was justified.
