Chapter 3: The Coolest Croc in all Kanto
After surviving Diglett Cave, and escaping from the many, angry, territorial, Digletts and Dugtrios, they arrived at Vermilion City. Roc let out a sigh of relief as they climbed back to the surface. "Krow..."
Cerberus nodded "Dour."
Ash chuckled "Well, we are here now." He dusted himself off "Let's go to the Pokémon Center already. I need a shower."
As the doors of the Pokémon Center opens, they witnessed how crowded it was. A lot of trainers were there looking worried, some even crying. Ash walked to Nurse Joy "What happened?"
Nurse Joy sighed "Surge happened. I keep telling that man to hold back just a bit, but... you can see what happens."
Ash nodded "Well, can you give me a room? I need to plan to avoid my team ending like this."
Inside the room, Ash was looking what moves Cerberus can learn. Naturally, Roc will not fight here, so Cerberus will be alone against whatever Surge has. And he doesn't like his chances. Cerberus might be able to take out one Pokémon at the very least, but he knows how strong his Raichu is.
He groaned and laid on the bed "What to do..."
Cerberus jumped to the bed "Hound!"
"Krow!" Roc said as he landed next to him.
"Maybe you guys are right. Let's think this over tomorrow, the cave let me tired as hell."
The next morning, Ash was exploring Vermilion with his team as someone rushed into them "Hello young trainer! Tell me! Do you know about Medal Rallys?!"
Ash starred at the man in front of him "A what now?"
The man laughed "A Medal Rally! The most exciting new activity from the Unova Region! Want to learn more about them!?"
"Not really-"
"I don't care! I will tell you anyway!"
Ash starred at the over-excited man and walked past him. "H-Hey! Where are you going!? I haven't even started!"
"I'm busy to hear your medal thing." Ash said as Roc nodded on his shoulder.
"What if I gift you a Pokémon if you listen?" Ash stopped and looked surprised at the weirdo.
"You're serious?" Ash asked and the man took out a Pokéball.
"Yep! Interested now?"
Ash looked at his team that shrugged and he knows he needs something to fight surge "What type is it?"
"Ground dark."
"Okay! I am all ears!"
One hour later, the weirdo was done, gifted him a medal and the Pokéball. He went back to his room and opened the ball.
"Sandile?" The small crocodile looked around as Ash smiled.
"Hey buddy, how are you?"
The Sandile looked at him "Sand-Ile?"
"Well, you were gifted to me. Ash is my name, and this are Cerberus and Roc." Ash introduced his team.
"Hound!"
"Krow!"
Sandile looked at them and huffed "Dile!" He said as he turned around and laid on the ground.
Ash frowned "Everything alright?"
"Sand-Sand!" The Sandile said and Ash traduced to;
'I ain't no gift, I ain't no product.'
Ash nodded "Fair enough." He said and the Sandile turned to him confused "I would also hate if someone just give me away for some stupid reason. But hey; why don't make the best of this bad situation?"
Sandile hummed and nodded "Sandile."
Ash grinned "Great! Do you want a nickname?"
Sandile nodded coolly "Sandileee."
"So... what about Sobek?"
"Sand!"
'No way!'
Cerberus looked at him "Hound?"
'Why?'
"Sandile."
'Nerd's name pal.'
Ash smiled "So what? Do you want to be named Chad?"
Sandile thought about it and nodded "Sand-Sand!"
Ash laughed "Fine, Chad is it. Let me register you on the Pokédex."
"Sandile, The Desert Croc Pokémon. They live under the desert sand to avoid their body temperatures from dropping, a dark membrane shields their eyes from the sun. This Sandile has Moxie as an ability and knows, Bite, Dig, Scary Face and Hone Claws and it is male."
*Next Day*
"Sand-Ile." Chad was wearing black sunglasses that Ash gifted him to boost his dark attacks. Roc was on his shoulder and Chad and Cerberus next to him as they entered the gym.
"Oh? A baby came in?" Lt. Surge said as he spotted Ash. "How many badges do you have?"
Ash smirked "I came for my first one actually."
Surge laughed "Oh that's new! Fine! I will use two Pokémon, and you?"
Ash looked at Cerberus and Chad. Cerberus was showing his fangs and Chad was smirking lazily. "Two."
As they got on the platforms Surge threw a Pokéball "Go Pikachu!"
"Cerberus! Go!"
"Houndoor!" Cerberus jumped to the arena and growled at the Pikachu.
"Pika..." Pikachu glared back as the match began.
"Pikachu! Quick attack!"
"Cerberus, smog!"
Pikachu went at an amazing speed as Cerberus breathed out a poisonous purple cloud that stunned the Pikachu "Pika?"
"Now use crunch!" Cerberus jumped on the Poisoned Pikachu and bit him multiple times.
Surge gritted his teeth "Pikachu! Use Spark!"
"Pika!" The Pikachu released a powerful electric wave from his body making Cerberus go.
"Come back!" Surge was about to recall Pikachu and Ash smirked.
"Cerberus! Pursuit!"
"What?" Surge asked.
"Hound!" Cerberus moved with a dark aura as he tackled the Pikachu towards the wall, knocking him out.
Surge whistled impressed "Not bad, not bad. Go Raichu!"
"Rai-Chu." The massive Raichu smirked as electricity came from his cheeks. Cerberus glared and growled at the rat in front of him.
"Cerberus, come back. Go Chad!"
As Cerberus backed away and Sandile jumped in the arena and gave the cocky Raichu a lazy look.
Surge laughed "Is that the best you have?"
Ash smirked "Sandile! Use Scary Face!"
Sandile smirked as his eyes turned yellow and the Raichu gulped lightly "Rai..."
Surge frowned "Raichu! Thunderbolt!"
Raichu shoock his head and Ash smirk grew "Chad! Bite him!"
Before Raichu could attack, Chad jumped on him and bit his side, making Raichu flinch but still attacked "Rai-Chu!"
A powerful bolt of electricity hit Chad that... he shrugged off. Raichu glared at the cocky Sandile who wriggled his eyebrows. Surge gritted his teeth "What is that Pokémon?"
Ash didn't answer "Chad! Use Dig!"
"Sand!" Chad let go of Raichu and made a hole as he went underground. Raichu was looking around, waiting for the lizard to pop out, when he was tackled from behind, sending him flying to the wall and once the smoke dispersed, Raichu was knocked out.
Chad smirked lazily "Sand-Ile."
Surge laughed as he recalled Raichu "For a baby you were pretty good. Here, as a showing you beat me, I give you the Thunder Badge."
As Surge handed Ash the badge he grinned and turned to his team "Great job guys! We are on the way!"
"Krow!"
"Hound!"
"Sand."
Surge laughed and patted Ash on the back, maybe too heavily "Also, for being the first one to beat me this month, you won a dinner with Lance."
That caught Ash by surprise "Lance? Like... Lance the Champion Lance?"
Surge nodded "That one. They asked me to go even more hard on trainers so that the winner will get this chance. Don't waste it kid!"
Ash nodded "I won't! Thanks."
"I'll call the league to inform them we got a winner. In the meantime, be my guest and let me help you train for a bit. You might beat me, but you look weak."
"Okay?" Ash didn't understand but who cares?! He is going to meet his hero!
He is meeting Lance Wataru!
