Mage A/N: Erm HI !. Please remember that maiming me will prevent this fic or any others I may write from being updated. :D
Wow has it been almost a year? Time flies when University, work, volunteering, and life, other fics, and writers block gets in the way. And boy did I have writers block with this. I really should have tried a different idea but I am stubborn and will admit was stuck on them too.
But, after watching Merlin episodes (and what a final series!) it's written. It's shorter than I'd like and not my best piece but its finally complete.
I would love to thank everyone who has stuck by this and has read, alerted and favourited this fic. I also would like to thank Adelina Le Morte March, LadyDunla, Replica Velocity a.k.a. X5 714, and LittleBounce (who has also sort of kicked my butt into gear whilst cursing me with more ideas :D) for reviewing.
And Herrrreeeesssss KRIP!
Krip A/N: HI! Not much for me to say except that this chap may be short but Mage has done an amazing job as always. I'll start working on another chap as soon as I figure out which subject I'm going to base it on, until then enjoy the awesome work of the mage! :)
Warning: Sort of spoilers for S01EP09, S02EP08, S03EP09, S02EP07 and S03EP05
Magic of Any Kind is Inexcusable.
Many have accused me of being a hypocrite (and in turn have proven that they are not too attached to their heads) but they are blind and wrong. I have never once condoned the use of magic, there is no good reason for anyone to use magic.
I would use this time to clear up some misconceptions. Before the purge, when I was blinded like many poor fools in this kingdom, I was told by someone in the court that they could help me and my dear wife Ygraine with the difficulties we were having in obtaining an heir. I did not know then that she was an evil, manipulative witch. It was only after she had stolen the life of my beloved Ygraine that the truth of her was revealed and my eyes were opened to the realities of magic.
Even magic used for the purest of intentions is dangerous and inexcusable. For example, Alice, who showed great promise in the healing arts. She could have been as great as my good friend Gaius but she chose to turn towards the dark path of sorcery. I can only be thankful that her deceit was discovered before she could corrupt the hearts of others whilst she pretended to heal them. Now if I only knew who has been helping her escape? Maybe Gaius has an idea?
Even the use of magical items should be banned as they are just as corrupting as the main disease. Take for example Aredian. He was once a dear friend of mine and one of my greatest allies in the war against sorcery. Yet the items, which he clearly confiscated from the monsters he was most handsomely rewarded to hunt, must have infected him with their evil, for why else would a fine, upstanding warrior against magic turn to cheap trickery. In fact this contamination ran so deep that it manifested itself in the form of a toad which leapt from my once friend's throat. We should learn from Aredian's mistakes and handle magical objects with care, ensuring they are securely locked up and guarded by the finest of men, the guards of Camelot.
I would carry on and give more examples on how magic is inexcusable but I must go visit my Daug-erm-Ward Morgana. I can not believe the tragedy that has befallen her but I am fully confident in our Physician's abilities and know he will do what ever it takes to heal her. I have the upmost trust in him and know that I never have to keep my eye on him to make sure he never returns to magic to say, heal a dying young woman from a fatal illness ...
