*Bella POV* (I think Bella has more of an excuse to not put two and two together. I mean, she doesn't remember anything about her human life. Thats why she didn't know she was a vampire until she read that letter.)
I just couldn't shake the feeling that the odd girl seemed very familiar to me. I've never smelt anything like her before! It's like she was... half human and... half vampire! Crazy! I'm sure glad we got each others numbers. I'm definitely going to call her to hang out so I can get more information about her. How strange...
It's really bothering me though. I was now at home, getting ready for work. I put a few curls in my hair, and put half of it up, and left half down. I didn't need makeup; I was beautiful enough already. I wasn't trying to sound cocky, but it was kinda true. You see, when you become a vampire, you become breathtakingly beautiful. Something about making your prey attracted to you, so you can get them alone and, well, you know the rest. That of course doesn't apply to me, or any other golden eyed vamps.
My outfit was simple, since I was going to be putting a white coat over it anyway. Just a blue sweater dress, since it was the season where humans were cold. It didn't bother me, of course, but I wanted to do my best to blend in. Not so sure my looks and rich house and car was helping. Oh well. What can you do.
I went to go look at the pictures again. I wanted to get them etched into my brain, just in case I so happen to come across one of them. I'm sure its going to happen sometime, because we live forever, but I haven't had much luck since. There was names on the back, so I at least could call to them if I saw them.
My clock beeped signaling it was time to head to work. I could easily run there, because, lets be honest, I could literally be there in seconds if I run. And, I could use the excuse that I walked, because the hospital is only a few blocks away. But, I still like to drive my car. Partly just because it looks cool. And I love my car. Its blue. I feel oddly drawn to the color blue. Maybe I liked it in my human life.
Today was actually very busy. At least it kept my mind off a lot of things. Well, not really, because my vampire mind is so vast that it can hold anything and everything imaginable at the same time, but it was very little that I thought about my human life, since we were so busy.
I had to try my hardest to work at a humanly rate. I just wanted to get everything done with today so I could just go home and think by myself. But unfortunately, humans would frown upon me getting stack upon stacks of work done in just mere minutes. So would the Volturi-whom Sadie told me were like the vampire royal police or something. So I just work sluggishly. For me, anyway.
"Hello, miss?" A smooth male voice said. I looked up swiftly, and barely had time to stifle my gasp. Thank God I did. He looks awfully like one of the guys in my pictures. Carlisle. I knew his name right away. Wouldn't he recognize me? Probably not, since he's never seen me as a vampire. I smiled.
"Hey."
...
*Renesmee POV* (sorry. :])
When I got home from the mall last night, everyone could tell something happened that bothered me. And, something did. That girl I met... but she looked no more than a year older than me! So it couldn't be possible...
She was 18 when she carried and had you... my Dads thoughts from long ago ran through my mind. I felt a sense of hope rush through me. I know Jasper felt it, because he suddenly fixed his gaze, intent, on me, waiting for an explanation. I quickly hid my thoughts from my Father. Years of practice.
Tried to get as much venom as I could inside her... but I was just too late... my Dads words that followed straight after the earlier words filled my mind, and every bit of hope I'd just had vanished. How crazy of me to think such a thing. I'm so stupid. I always get my hopes up, and then I know I'm just setting myself up for disappointment. I hate myself.
I really want to talk to Alice about it though. I couldn't tell my Dad because, well, you know why. And Alice was the best one about hiding her thoughts from him. I made the decision to go to my room, assuming Alice would see. She's practiced seeing me, and she's gotten swiftly good at it. She gave me a look of knowing. Luckily my Father was engrossed in something else that he didn't notice.
"Nessie, I saw you bought almost everything you could manage, so I'll go help you bring stuff in, and put everything away." Alice offered. I nodded, truly grateful. Even though I had a pretty keen fashion sense, Alice was way better at this stuff than me.
We got everything in with just one trip, and then we proceeded to put everything away. Everyone was off doing their own thing, and Carlisle had just left for work. Half way through sorting through my clothes, Alice could tell there was something on my mind.
"Alright, out with it. Tell me." She demanded-in a nice way, of course. I nodded towards my Dad downstairs, silently motioning that he would hear, and she tapped her head, indicating that her thoughts were sealed. She'd keep him out.
I took a deep breath, and placed my hand to her cheek. I let the whole shopping experience flow from my memory, into her head. I stopped right before I got to the part about the girl.
"Go on." She said. I could tell she was proud of my successful shopping. I took a deeper breath, and gulped, and positioned my had right back on the spot it was before.
I replayed every memory I had with that girl, not leaving out a single thing. From the point I almost ran into her, to the point she left to get ready for work. When I finished, Alice's expression was something of which I could not decipher.
"Alice?" I asked, softly. Hoping she might have a say of this indescribable event.
She opened her mouth and tried to speak. "I..." But she couldn't find the words. This was the first time I've ever seen a vampire left speechless. So. In the past 24 hours, I've met a vampire that couldn't remember, and one that was speechless. This is just insane.
Then her face went blank.
And I knew she was having a vision.
Sorry, again. (:
But I swear, I'll get another chapter up here pretty soon. I'm really into writing this story. It's fun. (:
anyway, please review!
Oh, and I try to make a "heart" with the little greater than/less than sign and a three, but it seems as the three's the only one that shows up.. .
So, whatever.
Anyway, thanks for reading. 3 (just know when you see a lonely three, its supposed to be a heart. So pretend. :])
