*Bella POV*
I know my family would be worried, but Alice would get a vision, and tell them.
So, now I'm just waiting. I know its going to be soon, because my vampire mind could count every second, and every minute of each day. It was now cresting on three days, and I could here my Fathers heartbeat start to slow. The pained features on his newly changed face had softened, and I could tell he was getting a new found tolerant to the burn.
I remember my change; how it felt. I shuddered. It was even horrible just to remember. I felt so much guilt from making my Father have to endure something so violent, but I knew it would all be worth it. It just had to be.
I noticed it was all quiet. No heartbeat. I then knew the transformation was complete. I had succeeded! I didn't kill him! Well, figuratively speaking.
But he wasn't moving at all. Oh, right. He's never even heard of vampires. He must feel how I felt when I'd first awoken, before I remembered everything. I remember the confusion, and awe I felt at being able to smell, and hear, and see everything from such an advanced perspective.
I was holding my breath, and I was alert for anything to set him off.
He slowly, every so carefully, opened his eyes. I knew he sensed me, because he growled, and then looked amazed at the sound that rippled through him. His gaze turned to me. He gasped, and I could see that he noticed it felt weird. My Father suddenly looked at least ten years younger. Wow, I guess the transformation alters aging a little. He still looked a good 45, though.
We were both waiting for the other to speak. I wish I could know what he was thinking. I took a step towards him. And another, and another. But, I felt something stop me. I reached my hand out, and felt, some kind of barrier between us.
"Dad." I spoke. He hissed. "No, don't, please let me explain!" I begged. He didn't listen. He crouched down, and began to grow menacingly. "I'm not going to hurt you!" I assured.
He gently, and slowly, released his crouch, and stood up vampire speed. He noticed his newfound speed, and his eyes widened.
"What, what is thi-" He stopped, listening to his voice. It didn't sound rough like usual. It was ringing, well, as much as a male voice could ring, anyway. He pointed at me, "Who, who are you." He accused.
"Dad, I'm your daughter, Bella." I said, in a soft voice.
"N-No! You, you cant be! She's dead! Bella's dead! I'm dead!" He argued.
"Well, we both are, in a way. But we're both still very much alive." I knew I had to explain this whole situation, so I started.
"Dad, remember when I first moved to Forks?" I asked, and he nodded. Good, he's going to let me explain. Perfect. "Well, when I met Edward, I had no idea what him and his family were, but I knew they were different. I didn't really start to become suspicious until he saved me from the van accident. I then knew something was up. I kept thinking about it, and when I went to a bonfire at the reservation, Jacob told me everything. Well, not everything, but he gave me enough information to ponder about on my own."
"Wait, what do you mean, you had no idea 'what they were'?" He demanded.
"I was getting to that part." I assured. "Well, anyway. I did some research, and what I came up with was unbelievable. Well, it was until Edward confirmed my suspicions."
"Okay, go on. Get to the part about what they are."
"Okay, Dad. Well, the Cullens are vampires. And, Dad, so are we." I said, waiting for his reaction.
"What?" He exploded. I knew if he was human, his face would probably be purple.
"Dad! Chill. Everything is alright."
"What do you mean, everything is alright? What, what the hell, Bella!" He shouted.
"Just let me explain!" I raised my voice. He narrowed his eyes, but took a deep breath, which he also found unnecessary, and crossed his arms. "Well, as you know, Edward and I fell in Love. And, the reason they all left in the first place was to protect me. Which, later, they found didn't do any good at all, because Victoria, the vampire who was out to get me, was still searching for me."
I let that all sink in, and continued. "Then, I went to Italy to save Edward from revealing that vampires exist. I got there just in time. So, after, we came back, and we became even more inseparable. And then, Victoria returned, and we all set up, and finally took her down. Then, Edward proposed to me, and we got married. And then, on out honeymoon, well, I got pregnant, and then carried my baby girl until time to give birth. But, she wasn't a normal baby. Since I was still human, and Edward was a vampire, our baby was half human, half vampire."
"You were pregnant?" My Father boomed. And then softened. "I had a grandbaby?" He smiled.
"You have a grandbaby." I corrected. And he beamed.
"But, wait. How, and why, are you a vampire?" He asked.
"Well, Renesmee-thats her name-, she was very dangerous to me. And, while giving birth to her, I lost a lot of blood. So, Edward tried to get as much venom in me as possible. But, they thought it was too late for me; that I was already gone.
"But I wasn't. The venom just acted slowly. So, when I awoke from my transformation, I didn't remember anything. I only had a note that Alice wrote me. So, I went through my first vampire years alone, except for the friend, Sadie, I had made. And then, when Carlisle was transferred to the hospital I work at, I saw him, and all the memories came flooding back. I was reunited with everyone, including Edward, and my baby girl, and here I am." I finished, smiling.
"Okay, well, what about me?"
"Well, Alice, she can see the future. She had a vision of you trying to kill yourself." I said, accusingly. He shrugged, sheepishly. "Anyway," I continued, "I raced to the cliff, and tried to stop you, but you didn't listen, and you jumped. So jumped, too, and found you. You cracked your head on the way down, and I knew you weren't going to make it. So, I made a last minute decision to bite you myself, and change you into a vampire. And, well, here we are." I concluded.
"Hmm." He said, thoughtfully. "Well, I'm glad that's all over." He said, and I knew he was talking about the burn.
"Oh, yeah. I remember what it felt like too." I told him, and we both shuddered. "Oh, and, Dad?"
"Yeah, Bells?"
"Well, there is a couple things you need to know about vampires." He nodded for me to continue. "Well, we do drink blood, but us Cullens drink animals, not human. That's why our eyes are gold, and not red. Yours will be red for a couple months, since you're a newborn, but the animal blood will slowly soften them to a nice, warm gold. And, also, you may never, ever reveal what we are. Or else the Volturi, the vampire police, will have to destroy the evidence. In that case, the person who came clean. Oh, and one more thing. We don't sleep. Or eat regular food. And, we never die."
He widened his eyes. "Never? As in, we live forever?"
"I know, its pretty crazy. But its amazing." I smiled. He grinned with me.
"So, do I get to meet my little granddaughter? And see Edward, again?" He asked, hopefully.
"Sure! But, first, you need to hunt."
His hand flew up to his throat, and he winced.
"Sorry, Dad." I apologized. "But, just close your eyes, and follow your senses. I made sure I didn't smell any humans, and nodded for him to go.
He raced off, and engulfed at least three deers. When he was finished, he had blood all over his clothes, just like I had on my first hunting trip. At least he had me here to help him. I had to learn on my own! Well, most of it was instinct, but still.
"I never imagined I could run this fast!" He exclaimed.
"It is pretty awesome. And, our hearing and sights pretty great too!" He nodded. "Well, come on, Dad. Lets go meet the rest of them family." I declared.
"Lets." He agreed.
Yo! So, this chapter just flew out from my fingertips.
It was pretty exciting to write.
