Epilogue

"Marcus, Aro! Caius! Come on!" I said, as I poked my head into the throne room.

"Coming, dear one." Aro said stepping down from his throne

"Come quickly, Sulpicia is about to blow."

"Oh, yes. She did seem rather excited."

Rather excited was an understatement. I believe she was more excited to see Jake's kid then I was.

"Well..come on!" I said gesturing to the door.

"We are in the middle of something, Isabella." Caius said glaring at me. I stuck my tongue out in retaliation.

I then noticed the ebony colored vampire that Felix and Demetri were holding between them. Wow, sometimes I could be really unobservant.

"What he do?"

"I was getting to that." Aro said.

"Sorry." Ducking my head.

"Not a problem, my dear." He said before turning his attention back to the vampire.

"You have been brought before the Volturi for-" and then I lost interest. I checked my watch several times.

We were going to be late! Couldn't he do this any faster? I mean really, he's the bloody king(no pun intended) couldn't he make this go along faster?

"Do you deny this charges?" Aro asked.

"No, please! Mercy, I beg of you! I meant nothing by my actions.."

"Ah, yes. I can see that. Still you risked our secret for your own bloodlust-"

"Ahem." I interrupted pointing to my watch. Aro seemed the picture.

"The price for your actions is death." Aro finished. Finally, couldn't he have said that ten minutes ago?

The vampire in question began to struggle, knocking Felix on top of Demetri. He made a mad dash for the door, which I just had to be standing in front of.

Caius was already running towards us, but of course he wouldn't make it in time. No, I would have to deal with this myself. Good Lord, could I have one normal day?
The vampire thrust his hand out to push me out of the way, I grabbed it and pulled until I heard his skin ripping.

No time to play, I needed to get this over with.

With that in mind I flipped onto his shoulders, he pulled uselessly at me legs tearing my skirt. Gods, I would have to change now. Great, just freaking great!

Wrapping my hands around his head, I pulled and pulled until his head started to disconnect. But it was taking too long, It'd been a little while since I'd last fought.

"Caius," I called.

His hands were on the vampires shoulders before I had the chance to finish. He pushed down and I pulled up.

I easily did a backflip as the vampire's body crumbled to the ground, without a head.

"Great, now I have to change." I hissed as I threw the head hard at Felix.

"Sorry, Bells." He said sheepishly.

"Whatever, just burn him. The rest of you need to go meet Sulpicia in the front of the castle." With Caius in tow I headed towards our room.

"Hurry, don't want to be late." Caius teased as I headed towards my closet.

"Haha, so funny." I bit back.

"I thought so too." He called from the bathroom.I swear he spends more time on his hair then anyone else I know.

Looking through my closet I decided it probably be best to not try a dress or skirt again, who knew what could happen once Jake got here. So instead I put on denim skinnies, a

"How do I look?" I asked a few moments later stepping into the main room.

"Great as always, Isabella."

"Thanks."

"Anytime," He said, winking at me. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Come on, Mr. Flirt. " I said as I gripped his hand in mine.

"Does that make you Mrs. Flirt?" He asked a little while later.

"What? No. It makes me Ms. amazing. As in it's amazing I put up with you." I laughed as put my arm through his.

"If you were half as cute as you thought you were-"

"I'd still be better looking than you."

"One day, Isabella. One day."

"You're finally start listening to me?"

"Hardly." He chuckled.

"A girl can dream."

We spent the next few minutes in silence as we walked towards the front of the castle. I was excited and nervous: Excited because I would finally get to meet my Godchild, nervous because I was afraid to see Angela and Jake what if they look different? What if they aren't the same people I use to be bestfriends with?

It was times like these I was glad my heart no longer beated, if it did I would be afraid it leap from my chest.

I could hear the heavy rain fall outside.

"Now the whole castle will smell like wet dog." Caius sneered.

I couldn't help it, I burst out laughing. His face softened lighty, I knew he had only said that to ease his news.

"What would I do without you?" I asked, laying my head on his shoulder.

"Probably die of boredom."

"Probably." I conceded as we finally came upon the front door to the castle.

As it turned out the only people late were the ones we were waiting for.

"Good thing we got here in such a hurry." Caius said a few minutes later, looking pointedly at me.

"Well, unlike some people I can't predict the future." I growled. It had come out harsher than I had meant, but I was starting to get slightly worried. What the hell was taking them so long?

The first ten minutes I was mildly irritated at Jacob for being so late, the next minutes I started to wonder if they were having trouble at the airport, when the clock struck 12:30 telling me we had stood there for a half an hour without any sign of them I was beyond the point of being worried..I was scared.

I quickly walked down the step of the Volturi castle by the time my feet had hit the muddy ground I was followed by the leaders of the Volturi.

"Sulpicia, stay here in case something happens." I heard Aro whisper to his wife.

"Be safe." She replied.

I kept walking, I didn't care who came or not.

"Isabella?" Marcus asked as he came to stand by me.

"Not now, Marcus. Somethings wrong, I can feel it." And I could, I had suppressed the worry before mistaking it for mild jitter, but now as I walked I began to wonder if it was something more.

I speed walked down the road, I wouldn't run. Because if I ran it would be real, if I ran then that would mean I was right. So I walked, I ignored the churning in my stomach and I walked.

Everyone remained silent behind me, but I could feel their eyes on me.

Soon I could hear the hub-bub of the humans, they were as they always were. Except on the edge of town, there the heart rates of the humans was abnormally quick and I could I already smell the blood, but for some reason my throat didn't burn anyone worse than before.

But there was something wrong, the blood...I couldn't place my finger on it, but it wasn't quite right almost as if...it wasn't human.

"Jacob." The words left my mouth before I could even register what I was saying.

"Isabella.." Someone said, but it was slowed. Everything was slower, delayed. I felt someone reach out to grab me, to stop me. But I was already running, I ran too fast for the humans to even see a blur they only felt a sudden breeze, but as I came upon the scene in front of me I slowed.

I stopped. I stared, and I felt my heart break into a hundred pieces.

There, in front of me stood a black SUV. It was upside down, but what really got me where the people.

There was Angela, carmel eyes closed as half her body sat on the hood of the car the other still remained in.

Jacob was on the floor, his body covered in his own blood. A large piece of glass embedded in his throat. He had bleed to death.

A choked sob left my mouth as I took in the scene.

A baby had started to cry in one of the police officers arms, I had first ignored. But then I realized Jake's baby wasn't there, the baby wasn't dead.

"Isabella?" Caius was behind me, setting his hands around my shoulders. But I shrugged him off.

Almost hypnotized I walked towards the police officers, ignoring the cries of my name.

"Emma?" I asked as I stepped towards the baby, as if it would answer. But it looked up, as it understood.

"You know this babe?" One of the officer's asked, his thick italian accent clouding his words.

"Yes, this is my Goddaughter." I answered, but I didn't look away from the baby.

"You will have to file..the paperwork." He said, I knew he was staring at me. I was a vampire, I knew I looked good. But I didn't care.

"Yes."

She had eyes like her father, the same deep understanding brown eyes.

A lot of questions, paperwork, and diapers later I was finally on my way back with Emma.

"Hey, pretty baby. Hi." I cooed at her, bouncing her on my hip. She giggled at me, making me crack a small smile.

I almost wished she understood, I wish she knew what she had just lost. But I suppose it wasn't right to wish such sadness on such an innocent being. No, she didn't deserve that.

Caius stood beside me looking down at her with a weird look on his face, I know this was hard for him. I had practically just adopted a daughter, but what else was I suppose to do? Billy had been dead for years. I couldn't just give her to Sam or Jared. They have families of their own they have to take care of. Plus, I'm her Godmother. I was suppose to take care of her.

"What will you do with the child?" Marcus asked to me left.

"I will raise her, like I promised I would when they named me her Godmother."

I felt Caius stiffen beside me, I hadn't discussed this with him. But what else could I do?

"Your keeping it?" It? He was distancing himself from the situation.

"Yes, what else would I do?" I asked, and for the first time in hours I looked away from the child.

"I don't know! Give her back to the mutts in Washington, or give her up for adoption!" He hissed at me.

"I will do no such thing!" My voice raised higher in defiance.

"I cannot help to raise a child!" He growled, outraged.

"Then don't." I bit back, harshly.

Emma began to cry as Caius rushed ahead of us towards the castle.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey,

You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." I sang softly as I rocked her.

"You will have to talk to Caius." Marcus reminded me as we stepped through the castle door.

"I know." I looked down at Emma, and I knew I could never give her up. Jacob had wanted me to take care of her if anything ever happened to him, I wouldn't let him down.

"Marcus, hold her." I commanded softly as I held her out for him to take. "Mind her head." I reminded.

But he didn't need help, he was a natural. If Caius wouldn't help me, I knew Marcus would.

So, I left Emma in Marcus's capable hands.

It took me a minutes to find Caius; he wasn't in our rooms, he wasn't his office. Instead he was in the gardens.

His tense shoulders and sullen expression seemed out of place in the beautiful garden.

"Caius?" I asked softly as I stood behind him. He sat up straighter, acknowledging my presence. "I'm..you have to understand..she needs a home." I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair.

"I know." He answered. "What I don't understand is why her home has to be here."

"I don't understand why it can't be. Jacob and Angela were my best friends, and I promised I would look after her. I can't break that promise."
"But I didn't, Isabella. I didn't."

"I know." I muttered as I sat down beside him.

"What if..what if I decide I want nothing to do with this?" He asked. My heart clenched as his question met my ears. I knew he heard my sharp intake of breath.

"Then I guess, I would leave with Emma." I could hear the heartbreak in own my voice.

"You would pick the girl over me?" He didn't even try to hide hurt in his voice.

"No. But if you would want nothing to do with her, then your choosing yourself over me." \

"That's not fair." He said.

"No, what's not fair is I just lost my best friends in the world. And now my husband, the love is of my life wants me to give up their child whom they entrusted me with. That's no fair." My voice shook as I ended my short speech.

Neither of us said anything for one long moment, and then I stood.

"Caius, this isn't about you. A little girl just lost her entire you're ready to stop being such a prat, you can come join me and Emma in our room."

I was out of the garden before he had a chance to say a word.

I didn't lose my cool as I headed towards Marcus and the baby: He knew what he was saying and he knew I would forgive him, all he had to do was ask. Still I wanted to wring his neck for putting me in this position.

I felt my temper cool as Emma came into view. She was pulling on Marcus's hair as he sang some song in Italian that I had never heard of.

"Ah, Isabella...this child is a monster." He said, but the words lost are their meaning as he chuckled at her slapping him in the face.

"Oh, look. I've already rubbed off on her." I laughed as I came to stand beside them. "Hi, baby girl." I grinned as I struck my hands out for her.

I didn't neglect to see how Marcus hesitated before handing her over. He already loved her. The big sissy.

"Emma, say goodbye to uncle Marcus." I said in my 'baby' voice.

Instead she decided it been fun to spit up all over my clothes.

"I see I've rubbed off on her too." Marcus said cheekily.

"Oh, haha." I rolled my eyes, before turning and heading back to my room. I had many conversations with Emma on the way, which I suppose is sort of just having a conversation with myself.

"And that, my dear is why you should never trust Uncle Caius with a blow dryer." I amended as I sat her on my bed.

I quickly changed into my pajamas before joining her on the bed. She was already half asleep, and right then I wished I could sleep too. To forget the world and all my worries if only for a few hours.

I almost felt like I was asleep as I laid next to her, both of us under the blanket her warmth making my skin tingle.

It was deep into the night when I flash of blond hair entered our room. Any sense of false sleep left me as I was on full alert for Caius to do something stupid. But he didn't. He crawled into bed, on the other side of Emma and we are laid there.

The only sound in the room was Emma's steady breathing.

I wondered if this was what it was like for people with families, I wondered if Jacob and Angela were like this before. If they had been even a fraction of how content I was in that moment, then their lives must have been completely amazing.

I wondered...I wondered if this was what if felt like to be whole, because since the first time since Charlie's death I felt whole.

Since the first time since Charlie's death, I have a family.

Nothing would take them from me this time, that I swore to.

Nothing, or so I thought.

His eyes burned a dangerous black as he fled down the long, twisting halls of the seemingly abandoned mansion.

He was fast, inhumanly so. The others all stepped out of his way, though none of them fear him they feared them. And that was enough.

The young man's face split into a ferocious grin, baring his canines as he rocketed down the path. Soon he came upon a old, old looking door. He raised his hand, seemed to think better of it, then raised his hand again and knocked.

The pounding on the door seemed to echo throughout all of the mansion, and several ears

perked up for what they assumed would be an entertaining show. They were not let down.

"Come in!" Barked someone on the other side of the door.

The man or seemingly in that moment boy; gulped, looked around, and then hurriedly entered the room, closing it behind him.

If you thought the door looked old, you should have seen inside the room. The floors were horribly cracked and missing several floorboards, the walls deformed with several lumps and the once beautiful floral wallpaper was now dark and falling to pieces.

But all these things wouldn't have caught your eye unless you had been in the room several times, because the two beautiful throne's demanded all the attention be brought on them.

Two men sat on them, sitting tall and determined. And what was worse there full attention was on the young man.

"I have brought news." The man/boy said, his tone hesitant.

"Well? Spit it out!" One of the men called out, his hair was almost white looking, his eyes a deep burgundy from the death he has caused in his long life.

"Indeed, speak." The other man agreed. He looked nothing like the other man, his was slightly latter, not as lean and had dark brown hair. The only similarity in appearances between the two men was they had the same burgundy colored eyes.

Infact everyone in the mansion had those same eyes..except the boy who stood in front of them.

"The planned worked, they suspected nothing. Bella has taken the girl under her wing." He answered.

"It has begun then, soon we will have our revenge-" The white haired man began.

"and you will have your, Bella." The dark haired man ended.

They seemed to think nothing of finishing each other's sentences, but it sent shivers down the young man's back.

He could read minds, and he still could never end someone else's were to close, it made him feel dirty.

But he dealt with it...it was all for her. All for his Bella.

"Leave us, Cullen." The dark haired man, Stefan, said.

"Give Carlisle are regards." The light headed man, Vladimir, chuckled.

"Of course." Edward said, but they all knew he would not. He had told none of his 'family' of his plan, no. For this to work he had to do it alone, none of them would understand.

None of them loved her, not like he did.

Edward gave a slightly bow and then quickly swept out of the room. He walked with less urgency as he departed the mansion.

His golden eyes looking over the rest of the vampires who walked through the halls. All of them, he thought, there to help him get his Bella back.

Of course he had never been so wrong in his life.

A/N: OMG..OMG...OMG...OMG! I finished it, I cannot believe! I cannot believe it! I'm so freaking excited.

Okay, let me explain some things for the very many of you who are very confused right now: Yes, I wrote a revised version and posted it, but I hated so I have now taken it down and just finished this one -which is what I should have done from the very beginning.
