A/N: This came to me while watching a rerun of a show and just thought it would be a good story for the blind date part of samcedes week.

Sam entered the bar for the mixer Patti set-up for the searcher and searchees to mingle. Sam eyed the room as men and women worked the room while waiting for the mixer to start. Sam saw a group of women laughing around a small table and decided to approach them.

"Hi I'm Sam, and I don't like green eggs and ham." Sam introduced himself and the women immediately stopped their chatting to eye him like asking if he was serious.

Sam silently walked backwards away from the group with his hands up when he bumped into somebody soft. He quickly turned around and saw a woman down on the floor picking up her tray and napkins that scattered.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to knock you over." Sam frantically apologized as he helped the woman.
"Don't worry, nothing spilt luckily!" The woman replied whispering the last bit.
"Please let me." Sam took the tray and helped the woman up.

Electricity travelled his body as soon as the woman placed her hand on his. The woman herself shivered which didn't go unnoticed to Sam. Their eyes locked and at that moment all Sam could think was how beautiful her brown eyes were. He could drown himself in the pool of her chocolate orbs but first he must know her name.

"Um... thank you, but I better get back to setting up the cocktails. Enjoy the mixer." The woman grabbed the tray and quickly excited to the kitchen.

Sam watched her leave with his mouth open. He was about to ask her name but she proved faster than he is and now he has missed his opportunity.

Sam continued to mingle around the room with one eye at the kitchen door in case the woman came back out. Sure enough she came back with refreshments on hand and started offering it to people. Sam quickly made his way to the middle of the room and pretended to join a group conversation as he waited for the woman to make her way to them.

"I really hope this millionaire is fine 'coz I didn't make all this effort for a dud." One of the women said to the group.
"Well I for one don't care what he looks like as long as he has the money to spend on me." Another woman said which earned giggles from the others.
"Wait, you're all here just for the guy's money? Aren't you here to find love or something?" Sam interjected not believing what he's hearing.
"Honey, you must be new to the game. Let me give you an advise, finding love, soulmate, match whatever you want to call it has nothing to do with it. The fact remains these people are rich and they need somebody to spend it with." A tall blonde woman explained.
"You look like a nice man, a little dorky but I think the millionairess will overlook that because you are foine!" A Naomi Campbell lookalike added.
"I can't believe you'd come to this expecting a guy to fall for you and spend all his hard earned money." Sam reprimanded the women.
"You better go on and just sit on your own. Obviously you're not cut out for this. Good luck on getting your millionairess 'coz the way you're acting, it's never gonna happen. Buhbye!" The blond woman shoved Sam out of the circle and the women closed to keep him out.

Mercedes had to calm herself after the interlude she had with the handsome man at the mixer. She knew that these people are here to meet the millionaire/millionairess looking for love. She has seen far too many of these mixers to know that these people are ruthless, but the moment they touched and locked eyes some part of her wanted to believe there was magic. Mercedes finally came out of the kitchen carrying refreshments to serve to the searchees. Mercedes was making her rounds when she heard what the women were saying to the cute blonde man and then they pushed him out of the circle. Mercedes quickly went to the guy to check if he's alright.

"I guess you are new here. Don't listen to any of them. They are as we call in the business hustlers. There are however a few nice ones that haven't joined their circle, so I hope to God those are the ones the searchers pick. Canapés?" Mercedes offered.

Sam wanted to say something to this woman but his voice just wouldn't come out of his mouth. He's so overwhelmed that he finally got another chance with this woman and she'd think he's a nut case for opening and closing his mouth trying to make sound come out.

"I guess you're alright. I better get back to work." Mercedes politely smiled and turned around as fast as she could to avoid the awkwardness.
"S-Sam! My name's Sam." Sam blurted out as he watched the woman leave him in horror.

Mercedes heard the man speak and quickly turned to face him.

"Mercedes. Nice to meet you Sam!" Mercedes introduced herself and made her rounds leaving Sam with a plastered smile on his face.

Sam couldn't make himself look at anybody else but Mercedes. He was standing at one of the tables trying to catch Mercedes' attention when he heard his phone beep.

Where are you? We're about to start soon!

Sam looked at the text message and quickly replied.

I'll be there soon!

Sam placed his phone back in his pocket and was surprised to see Mercedes at his table smiling.

Mercedes was making her rounds and she couldn't help but feel giddy as she felt Sam's eyes on her. She would quickly look his way, which wasn't hard because Sam stayed in one place the whole time; and he would be looking at her with a big ass smile on his beautiful face. Mercedes kept trying to find a way to approach Sam when she finally decided to bring him a drink.

"I brought you another drink. There's a 2 per person limit in these events, but if you don't get lucky with the millionairess come and look for me and I'll slip you a free drink." Mercedes winked and left Sam alone.

Mercedes felt like a school girl as she left him to think about what she just said. Sam took a sip of his drink, still with a goofy smile on his face watching Mercedes sway her hips as she walked away. Sam held on to his drink as he made his way to the back of the bar.

"Where have you been? We've been waiting for ages! I know this mixer is for you and your twin sister Quinn but I don' tolerate tardiness without a good excuse!" Patti reprimanded Sam as soon as he entered the green room.
"I have a good excuse! I think it's even perfect Patti. Listen to me please, I found her! I found my soulmate!" Sam exclaimed.
"What? When did this happen?" Quinn quickly stood up to interrogate her brother.
"Wait! I want to hear this too, what do you mean you met your soulmate? There's 20 women here we think will be perfect for you and you're throwing that away 'coz you think you found your soulmate?" Patti stated as she waited for Sam's response.
"None of them are perfect for me Patti. I just spent an hour there trying to mingle and see what they really are like before knowing who I was. Most of them were gold diggers, some wanted a trophy boyfriend, while the rest wanted to find someone among the other searchees. But she's here Patti and I don't think, I know she's the one!" Sam professed with passion and flare.
"What do you mean she's here? You just said none of the women we chose for you are suitable!" Patti replied confused.
"Sam! Don't tell me you brought her here in the mixer for you? What could you possibly be thinking!" Quinn reprimanded.
"No I didn't! Just believe me on this one, let's go out there and I'll introduce you to her Quinn. I think you'll like her a lot!" Sam smiled brightly at his sister.

Quinn looked at her brother intently. She has never seen him this happy and he seems positively glowing as he talks about this girl.

"Ok let's go! I just wish I went with you and could have found my soulmate too." Quinn pulled her brother closer and leaned on his shoulder as she placed her hands on Sam's arm.
"There are plenty of good guys out there, just try to have fun." Sam told Quinn as he kissed the top of her head.
"I myself is curious of what's going on. I want to meet this girl and see if she's legit. C'mon lets get out there!" Patti wedged herself between the two and laced her arms with theirs as she led them out to the mixer.

Mercedes did her rounds and felt a bit panicked as she couldn't find Sam for awhile now. She felt her stomach twist in knots thinking that she'll never see Sam again. Mercedes stood in the shadows as she heard the crowd quiet down and assumed Patti was making their way to the mixer with the searchers.

"Good evening everyone, I'd like to introduce our millionaire and millionairess for today. They are old money rich and something we've never done before. They are paternal twins and both looking for serious relationship, ladies and gentlemen I present Samuel and Quinn!" Patti introduced the pair.

The women gasped as they saw Sam enter the room with his sister. Mercedes was at the back of the room with her head down when she heard the uniformed gasp. She tried to see what was going on but the men at the back are just too tall. When Patti told everyone to mingle, Mercedes slowly walked towards the kitchen when she felt sparks zap her body as a hand was placed on her shoulder.

"Hi Mercedes!" Sam lit up as he said her name.

Mercedes turned around and saw Sam holding a beautiful woman's hand. Her heart dropped on the floor as she tried to put on a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"Uhmm hi Sam. Do you need anything?" Mercedes tried not to look at Sam afraid her disappointment will show through.
"Yes, I'd like that drink you promised. This here millionairess is my sister. So you see I don't think she'll pick me!" Sam confidently told Mercedes.

Mercedes quickly looked up in shock and saw Sam's wide smile and the beautiful woman behind him grinning widely herself. Mercedes was about to say something when Sam interrupted her thoughts.

"So about that drink?"
