*Bella POV*
The drive from the airport to Volterra would have normally taken about three hours. But, with our speeding, we got there in half that time.
We pulled right up to the gates, and the gate tender came up to us. I rolled down my window, and when the guy saw me, Edward growled. Low enough for him not to hear, though. I knew he was hearing his thoughts. I let up my shield, and Edward gasped.
Babe, pull it together. We can't mess this up. I flickered my gaze to him so fast, that the man still gaping at me didn't notice, and he nodded quickly.
"Hello." I said, when I turned my attention to the man. He look about mid-30s. What a pervert! But then again, everyone is when it comes to us. He gulped, trying to keep down his lunch, I guess, before stammering,
"H-Hello, M-Miss." He looked over at Edward then, and I immediately saw him put himself together. No doubt he was getting death glares from Edward. He cleared his throat. "So, what can I help you with, today?" He grinned. I could tell there was a double meaning to that question, and, he said it a little smug, like he was testing Edward. Wrong idea.
"Excuse me, but that is my wife you are talking to, and I would appreciate it if you would do as such and just keep your mouth closed, and let us in." He seethed. I looked back over to the guy, and horror was plain as day etched on his face. He gulped again, and pushed a button to open the gates, and motioned us through.
He stopped Alice and Jasper behind us, and I turned to see his expression was the same as when we saw me, and, Jasper's the same as Edwards. They went through pretty much the same procedure as did we, and such continued with the rest of the girls and men, until we were all inside the cities gates.
"I swear." Emmett began. "If someone else tries to hit on my Rosie, I don't care what time of day it is, or where I am, I will rip their body to shreds, take it to the nearest forest, and laugh, as an animal eats them up. Then, I'll make the animal puke them up, then set it on fire, and watch all their little chewed up remains get evaporated to nothing." He threatened, and I knew he meant every word of it. I giggled. All the guys agreed with him, and the girls admired that.
"Okay, you guys." Alice laughed. "We can all think of ways to torment our admirers later, but now, we need to focus on why where here." She said, and we all continued on our journey to rescue Renesmee and Jake.
"So..." Grant said, when we got to the main building, where Aro stayed. "How do we get in?"
We all pondered that, and I remembered the little tunnel I slid down, the last time I was here.
"Hey, Alice." I called, she turned towards me, and raised her eyebrows. "Remember last time, when we slipped down that tunnel, and you had to catch me at the end?"
"Oh, yeah! That's just right over here!" She exclaimed, and danced over to it. She looked down it, and yelled, "Yep, this is the one!"
We all hurried over, and when it was my turn to jump, I felt an sense of dejavu wash over me. I shook my head to bring myself out of it, and jumped. It was a new sensation, jumping down it, and not having to have anyone to catch me. It was amazing! I giggled all the way down. I heard Eward chuckle. When I got to the ground, he was shaking his head at me.
"What?" I asked. "It was fun!" He just laughed again, in response, and held his hand out for me.
"Come on. Our daughters waiting." He said, and I gladly took his hand.
We sped off-there wasn't a soul in sight. Most likely the time of day. So, we didn't have to worry about running too fast. Plus, if anyone was here, what would they be doing all the way down here?
We came up to the huge wooden doors. Emmett went up, tugged, but to no avail. He cursed.
"How are we going to get in?" Rose asked. I looked at Alice. She shrugged.
"What do you think I am, a psychic?" She feigned shock. I smirked, and gently punched her shoulder. "Alright, alright." She caved. "I'm sure they already know we're hear, anyway, so, lets just wait for them to come to us."
And, sure enough, within five minutes, the ice witch herself, Jane, was opening the doors.
"Well, well, well. Fancy seeing you guys here. What gives?" She asked, even though it was clear on her face she knew exactly what we were doing here. I narrowed my eyes at her, but thankfully she didn't see. I didn't want to cause any drama, but, hey. I'm running on a Mothers instincts right now.
"Oh, you know, not here to rescue my niece, or anything." Emmet said, sarcastically. Jane's eyes widened in shock.
"Rescue? You make it sound like this is some prison we're running here." Fake. I could just tell she was all fake. I did my best to conceal my lip curling. I did so triumphantly.
"Jane, will you please just let us have Renesmee and Jacob so we can all return home, no harm done?" Edward said, his voice strong and sure. The Witch smirked.
"I'm afraid that isn't possible, dear Edward." I started to growl, but Edward shushed me.
"Why is that?" His voice getting harsh. She still went on smiling sweetly.
"Because, Aro still hasn't been able to decide whether or not she's safe for our kind."
"And what if he decides she's not?" Jasper challenged. But, Jane just grinned, and brought her hand across her neck, making a cutting sound. My vision turned red.
"Give. Me. My. Daughter. Back." I seethed, clenching my teeth together the whole time. Everything was covered in a red transparent shield, making her eyes even more red. That made me clench my fists.
"We'll see." She said, in a smart tone. "Follow me." And with that, she turned around swiftly, and began walking, but seemed like slithering, down the long hallway. Edward came and put his hand on my should, my vision still a little pinkish.
"Don't worry, Love. We'll get her." He reassured. I immediately felt calm, and my sight returned to its normal color. I took a deep breath, and followed the rest of my family, following Jane.
Without warning, she stopped just before the end of the hall, and slowly opened a door to the left. She glanced at us again, smirked, and pushed it all the way open. And what I saw, made me just want to murder everyone with red eyes in this room.
Renesmee, and Jake, bound with what I presume the most powerful chains they could find, tied to chairs. My nostrils flared, and I began to crouch, but a voice I've missed so much stopped me.
"Mom, don't. It will only make this worse."
Sorry. I know it's been long, but, school just started, and I'm already overwhelmed. This is not going to be an easy year. But, because I love you guys, and you all love this story, I'll try to update as frequently as I can. But, I'm not making any promises as to how fluent that will be. Bear with me. I'm a junior in high school. Yeah, thats the hardest year.
Stay with me you guys.
Thanks.
Love, Sarah.
