After the Ralph reveal (ugh), I couldn't get this one line from the premiere out of my head; namely, the one where "Agnes" mentions avoiding her mother-in-law right when she first greets Wanda. While I'm pretty sure that Agatha went straight to Wanda's house when she arrived in Westview (as shown at the very beginning of 'Agatha All Along'), and therefore would have taken over the house next door afterwards, I couldn't help but imagine if "Ralph's mother" was actually in town. Combine that with my '"Ralph Bohner" is just Peter's sitcom character' theory, and I got to thinking over who would play said mother…
And, well, this is what I came up with. Just imagine that Agatha got her home base set up first. It would make more sense, anyway, to set herself up in a house instead of just showing up and claiming to live there when, for all she knows, the real residents interacted with Wanda before she showed up.
This is in the same continuity as 'Payback'. I know, I said I had no plans to add on to it, but that was then, and this is now. I started writing this one a little over a month after writing and posting 'Payback'.
While this is obviously not finale-compliant, I will be taking some elements from the final episode, and re-working them to fit what I've already put in 'Payback'.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own 'X-Men', 'WandaVision', any of their characters, Xbox, or 'The War of the Worlds'.

"Forgive me for not stopping by sooner to welcome you to the block; my mother-in-law was in town. So, I wasn't."
– "Agnes", 'Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience'
On an all but deserted suburban street in the late afternoon, no one even notices when the air ripples and a young blonde woman in slightly dated clothing suddenly appears out of nowhere. Only one person is even out on the street at the time, and he has his back to her when she appears. If anyone can see her through their windows, well, they don't come bursting out of their house to make a fuss.
Like any rational person, she quickly moves from the middle of the street to the sidewalk, walks past the bare concrete foundations of a new house that was obviously never completed, and marches straight up the walkway to the house next door. Pressing the doorbell, she huffs as she waits impatiently for an occupant to open the door.
She's barely gotten the huff out, however, when the door does open, and a man who appears a few years older with oddly-coloured hair and a slack-jawed expression is standing there in front of her. "What- How- You're here!" He's giving her a tight hug before she can even blink, and then he hurriedly ushers her inside.
The woman raises her eyebrows as she takes in the interior of the open-plan house. Much of the furniture within it looks like it should belong in a showroom; the only areas that looked even remotely lived-in, of those that she can see, are the kitchen and the living room, which has a TV with some sort of alien-themed video game on pause. "You've been living here?" she asks questioningly, "Wow. I had no idea that you had such… classy taste in end tables."
The man blows a raspberry, running his fingers through his silver hair. "I didn't choose this stuff. After the authorities figured out that I wasn't, you know, from around here, they handed me off to the FBI and Witness Protection. This is just the safe house they set me up in." The words spill from his mouth at a rapid pace that might put some people off, but the woman doesn't look at all fazed. "But how did you even get here?! I'm still not even sure how I got here!"
The woman smirks, raising her voice just a little bit to be heard over the sound of a car passing by outside. "One of these days, we're gonna stop being amazed by the things that Hank and Jean can pull off when they combine his brains and her power. Today is not that day."
The man flashes her a relieved grin, then he's suddenly gone, a sudden breeze ruffling the woman's hair. Like with the speed-talking, she doesn't seem to be surprised in the slightest by this strange development. Of course, given that she just popped up out of thin air a mere minute ago, that's to be expected.
When the man appears in front of her again, he's wearing an unusual black-and-silver leather getup and carrying a stuffed backpack. "So, how're we getting home?" he asks, popping a bubble in the gum he's now chewing.
The woman raises an eyebrow at him, now. "You do know you don't need to wear that, right? We're gonna jump straight from here to the school. Hank gave me this doohickey that'll- What are you doing?" She stops her explanation short when she sees the man trying to stuff his Xbox into another bag.
"What's it look like I'm doing? You would not believe the video games and tech they have here! So, sue me for wanting to bring some back home! The kids at the school are gonna love these!"
Now the woman huffs in exasperation and plants her hands on her hips. "You are not taking that thing back with you! You have a perfectly good gaming system at home, and who knows if that one'll even work with our TV?! Just leave it and let's go!"
The man rolls his eyes, pushing some of his silver hair out of his face. "Geez, Mom, who thought you'd be such a-"
The sound of an anguished wail comes from outside, interrupting his complaint as they both look over to the right side of the house. Before they can react in any other way, however, a wave of red light washes over them and the inside of the house.
"Honestly, Ralph," the woman continues, her voice now projecting as though to be heard throughout the entire house, "How will you find a wife if you can't find a decent job?"
"I have a job, Ma," the young man retorts from his position in front of the television. 'The War of the Worlds' is on. His dark hair is somewhat mussed up, a sight that deepens his mother's frown.
"Your father didn't work all those hours to pay for your schooling so that you can bounce from audition to audition while working in a diner for the rest of your life!" She smooths her apron before turning to the kitchen. "Now, I will start getting dinner ready. By the time I finish, I expect you to have found at least five respectable job listings in the Classifieds." She bustles over to the kitchen and tuts at the nearly bare shelves in the cupboards and the ice box. "Looks like a trip to the grocer's is in order," she murmurs to herself. Of course, that murmur can still be heard clearly throughout the kitchen, as if for the benefit of an invisible audience.
The mother takes her apron off and sets it aside, and takes her coat off the coatrack and picks up her pocketbook. Her son looks up from the television, mildly confused.
"I'm going to the grocer's to get the ingredients I need for a casserole," she explains, "That should be enough time for you to find two additional job listings."
She ignores her son's put-upon sigh, and goes to open the door and leave…
Only for the door to open from the outside, startling her. "Oh! Hello, may I help you?"
The dark-haired woman smiles wickedly at her as she confidently steps into the house without so much as waiting for an invitation. "What a lovely home!" she comments, "Oh, yes, this will do just fine!"
"E-Excuse me?!"
The son stands up and starts to come to his mother's aid, but the unfamiliar woman waves her hand, and a dark purple mist engulfs the two of them.
Fun fact: Jennifer Lawrence is actually 3½ years younger than Evan Peters. So, yes, having her play his mother in the sitcom would be just stupid (as Wanda wouldn't know about the shape-shifting or the fact that Raven is actually older than Peter). But imagining Mystique's indignation at being cast in such a role was too good to pass up. Imaginer what TVTropes calls 'Dawson Casting', taken to extremes.
I was originally planning for this to be a one-shot, but it just didn't feel like a one-shot to me. While I haven't completely finished writing it, I am just wrestling with the climax and already have some of the final scene written. As things currently stand, there will be at least 5 chapters, possibly 6 or 7. (6 is the most likely.) Updates will be every Friday, just like the show.
I know I'm not exactly keeping consistent with how Wanda's control over Westview is portrayed in the show; in canon, the townspeople not immediately involved in her current scenario are frozen, instead of acting out their own unseen scenes. I'm relying on the fact that Raven and Peter are right next door, and Agatha's presence, to keep them active even when Wanda doesn't need them.
All the chapters will be fairly short, between 1,000 and 1,100 words, and the chapter titles will (mostly) be taken from the various theme song lyrics, except the next chapter's, because I couldn't find one that fits it.
