So... I should have had this out a week ago, but my life fell into chaos. So, here you go! The first chapter of the last season! Sadly though, I don't think I'll get through the season before I leave for a year and a half, so I'll post as much as I possibly can! I'm hoping to post at least three chapters today since I did finished the chapter I was stuck on Monday night. It was way too late to post then and I've been stressed. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! Also, the next chapters won't be up until later today. Their not going to come up soon since I'm cooking dinner right now.

Warnings: None. If this is wrong, tell me. Does have very small sad parts, but their very small... and a bit vague I think.

Disclaimer: I'll never own Pokemon because I'll never be rich enough to actually buy it. Autumn is mine though.

-Autumn's P.O.V.-

The topic of birthdays appeared early in our adventures in Alola and it's where we learned everyone's birthdays, "When's your birthday Autumn?" Kiawe asked.

It seemed like a harmless question, but, "I don't know," I admitted, "I just know I was born in fall, but I don't know the official date."

"Then let's make a date!" Mallow beamed.

I seemed to be the only one confused, "Make a date?" I asked.

"We'll choose a day for your birthday and celebrate then!" Lillie explained.

Sophocles nodded, "Everyone deserves to celebrate their birthday! It doesn't even matter if it's the correct day!"

"How about the first day of fall?" Lana suggested, "It's easy to remember and I won't forget it."

Mallow chuckled, "You do have a hard time remembering birthdays and holidays."

Lana just shrugged, "Days go by too fast some times and mess me up."

"That's true," Ash slumped in his chair, "Once, I nearly forgot Christmas because of how fast my days seemed to go by."

We didn't bring up birthdays again until the first one to have a birthday came, "Happy Birthday Ash!" I told him as I entered the classroom, a bit late because I wanted to make sure Ash's present was ready.

Ash turned a bit red from embarrassment, "Thanks Autumn."

Everyone else freaked out a little, "It's your birthday today?!" Sophocles asked.

"Why didn't you tell us?!" Lillie wanted to know.

"Congrats on being another year older!" Mallow cheered.

"How old are you now?" Kiawe asked.

"17," Ash answered.

"That makes you the oldest in the class," Lana smirked.

Ash groaned, "I don't wanna be though! I like being young!"

I rolled my eyes and gave him his present, "Here, this is your present. I hope you like it."

"I always like your presents Autumn," Ash ripped the wrapping paper off and opened the box, "A… new hat?" He seemed confused.

I chuckled, "The one you're wearing now is getting worn, but you have to look further in the box."

He seemed confused, but looked anyway as his eyes widened, "H-How did you get this?!" He asked, pulling out a picture frame of him with all of his friends, "Where did you get this anyway?!"

"There's a few editing programs I used to make it," I admitted, "I thought you would like it since you're scared that you'll forget about a friend, which you wont. Just look on the back," He did so as I told him what it was, "It tells you who is who!"

Then I was tackled in a hug, "Thank you so much Autumn! This is amazing!"

"Your welcome Ash," Then I pulled out another container from my bag, "Now, who wants cake?"

The next person was Kiawe surprisingly. Although, since everyone knew this time, we prepared in advance and decorated the classroom (with Professor Kukui's permission of course) and, once he made it we cried out, "Happy Birthday!" Surrounding the red velvet cake with 17 written all over it.

Kiawe immediately started to tear up, "Thanks you guys!"

"On to the cake!" Sophocles cried out, barely resisting eating a slice (mainly because Lana was holding him back).

We all laughed and sang 'happy birthday' to him. He was also the first person to get a slice of cake, any slice he wanted. After that it was time for 'presents'. I was the only one who brought one, but I found out why when I pulled it out, "You didn't need to get me anything Autumn!" Kiawe protested, "The party is enough!"

"Don't forget, we're also doing your chores at your family farm today!" Ash added.

I just smiled, "It's your birthday! Besides, I thought you would like it!"

Slowly, he opened it. His eyes widened as he saw what was inside, "Really?" He asked me.

I nodded, "Yep. You are officially a black belt."

He pulled out the official black belt, "I've never felt more grateful in my life!" He told me, pulling me into a hug.

I smiled, "You're officially able to use all martial arts and can protect anyone."

Ash's eyes widened, "Really?! He's a black belt?"

"Can you show us?" Mallow asked eagerly.

Lana nodded, "Spar with Autumn!"

"If they spar then Autumn's going to win," Sophocles pointed out, "No one can beat her."

"Actually, we're on the same level," I admitted, "I win some and he wins others."

Lillie's eyes widened, "Really? But he's only been able to train for a few months! Doesn't it take years?" We had to prove to Sophocles that Kiawe had progressed that fast when he looked it up.

After Kiawe, Lana came and we sort of did the same thing for her. The differences were that the cake was vanilla flavored and we were at the beach all day instead. Somehow, we convinced Professor Kukui to spend the entire day there, but we also thought he had planned for it as well since it didn't take long for him to agree, "This is the best lesson ever!" Lana cheered when she came up from another dive.

"I don't think she's going to come out any time soon," Sophocles muttered.

Mallow shrugged, "We are here for her birthday. She can do whatever she wants!"

"That's true," Kiawe mumbled as he lay on the sand, "It's an unspoken rule for birthdays."

"Is anyone else a bit worried that she can get her license now?" Lillie asked, a bit scared.

All of us froze, "That's right," Ash breathed, "She's 16!"

"Does she even want one?" I asked, getting my present ready by finishing the bow.

Mallow nodded, "She want's one just in case an emergency comes up. Other than that she doesn't want to drive. It scares her."

"She would much rather be on the water instead," Sophocles nodded.

"Lana!" I got up and ran over to her, giving her the gift I made, "Here you go! Happy Birthday!"

Once she opened it, she frowned, "Thanks."

"You can wear it in water," I added, clipping the charm bracelet around her wrist, "The chain won't rust if you don't dry it and Sophocles make it so that any charm on it will be protected in a little ball so it doesn't get wet and only lets it out when it's dry."

Now she was beaming, "Thank you!" Immediately, she put on the charm she always wore and watched as it was covered in a protective ball, "Now I don't have to worry about it being stolen while I'm swimming or fishing!"

The next lucky person was Mallow. Her party was just out in the field with a vanilla cake once more, "Steenee! Look! They even created a mini you!"

"Really?" Steenee asked, then clapped, "It looks amazing!"

Mallow took it off the cake, "It looks too good to eat, so no one can eat it!"

"Then eat the cake already!" Sophocles whined, "It looks delicious!"

All of us laughed as Mallow grabbed a piece of cake and gave one to Steenee as well, "Everyone, dig in!" She gestured to the cake with a smile.

It was delicious as usual and afterwards we played a few games that she liked, "We forgot to mention," Kiawe told her, "We convinced your dad to give you today off from your family restaurant."

"What?!" She asked, shocked, "But who's going to help him with the orders and food?!"

"We are!" Sophocles answered.

Ash nodded, "We're going to be the waiters while Lillie and Autumn help in the kitchen!"

"Don't worry, we have everything planned out," Lana added.

I quickly pulled out a box from my bag, "I nearly forgot! Happy Birthday!" I handed it to her.

Inside was a green headband with a pink flower on it that she could wear to let her hair down while working and there was also a dress that she could wear that had a sort of built in apron that she could take off and use it as a semi-formal dress as well, "It's beautiful!" She held the dress up to herself, then gasped, "You even made one for Steenee!" She pulled out Steenee's dress and gave it to Steenee who held it in front of her, "We're going to wear these tomorrow!"

She did, but she also kept her hair down and wore the headband as well. Lillie took a picture and waited until her birthday when he came to see her, "Gladion," She asked, "What do you think of this?" And he turned red.

All of us were laughing except Mallow, she was just flattered, "Why does no one start with the cake?!" Sophocles asked sadly.

Lillie laughed, "You can have the first slice if you want to, Sophocles. I don't mind."

Despite wanting to eat the cake, he disagreed, "Nope! It's your birthday so you get the first slice!"

"Here!" Mallow gave Lillie a plate with a slice of cake on it, "Taste it!"

Lillie quickly did and everyone grabbed a piece, "Hey, Gladion?" Ash asked, "How long are you planning on staying this time? Could we have a battle?!"

"Maybe later," He shrugged, "I'm here for my sister."

Speaking of which, "Here Lillie," I handed her a semi-small box, "Happy Birthday."

Lillie smiled and took it, "Thank you Autumn," After setting her plate down, she opened it and gasped.

Inside were matching 'bandanas' that she and Snowy could wear around their necks. They were mainly blue with a white snowflake in the corners. I had also made her a simple silver headband with a sparkling snowflake on it, "You look really good with your hair down," I told her, undoing her braids and putting the headband in, "I figured this way you could keep it out of your face if you ever decide to wear it down."

"Woah," We both turned to see Ash staring at Lillie, "Lillie you look…"

Gladion glared and stepped between them, "Stop right now," He growled.

Lillie and Ash were horrified while the rest of us just laughed, "Gladion!" Lillie reprimanded.

Finally, it was Sophocles' turn and he was ecstatic, "Finally! I'll be able to eat the cake first!"

"You even get to take the leftovers home," Lana added, smiling.

He took a bite a second later, "This is delicious!" His cake was chocolate and he didn't really want to share, but let all of us have one slice, "I want to give some to my parents," He admitted.

"That's a great idea!" Kiawe smiled, "They'll love it just as much as you do!"

"Just make sure you don't eat the rest of it tonight," Mallow cautioned, "You could get sick if you do."

"Don't worry, I know when to stop eating," He smiled.

"Time for presents!" I called out, giving him a box.

Everyone just smiled, "Autumn, you're the only one who keeps insisting that we all get a present," Lillie admitted, "Besides, Sophocles told us that he just wanted us to be here and celebrate."

"Everyone deserves something on their birthday!" I protested as Sophocles opened his gift, "And parents don't count because they always give something."

Then Sophocles shrieked, causing all of us to jump, "Autumn! Can I give you a hug?"

I blinked, then slowly nodded, "Sure? But-"

I was cut off when he crashed into me and gave me a hug, "Okay, what did you get?" Lana asked.

Sophocles quickly showed them, "A limited edition Masked Royal Pokeball and a super rare t-shirt that the Masked Royal himself took part of and they're both signed!"

Everyone else promptly freaked out, "No way!"

"That's so cool!"

"Autumn! You have to find a way to let us meet the Masked Royal in person!"

My entire face was probably red, "Well, I actually already did," I admitted.

Everyone stared as Kukui, dressed as the Masked Royal came in, "Hello everyone," He waved.

Sophocles talked about that day for over a month afterwards and I was glad he was happy. Then came the fate filled day, "Happy Birthday Autumn!" Everyone cried out when I entered the classroom, late since my alarm didn't go off for some reason.

I jumped and looked around to see the classroom decorated once more with a cake on my desk and everyone standing around it, "What's going on?" I asked, confused.

"Ash told us your birthday!" Mallow answered excitedly, "So, we decided to throw you a party!"

"Oh, right," I forgot that I learned my birthday from the letter my mom left with the Totem Pokemon.

Ash smiled and pulled me forward, "Today, you get to decide the rules! And you get to have the first slice of cake!"

I smiled slightly, then noticed something, "The cakes on fire!" I pointed out and was ready to douse it in water when Kiawe stopped me.

He was smiling, "Their candles. You blow them out and make a wish."

"What kind of wish?" Now I was intrigued.

"Anything!" Sophocles answered, "But you can't tell anyone what it is or it won't come true!"

That was confusing, but they knew more about this than I did, "Okay."

I took a deep breath, ready to blow them out when Lana stopped me, "Wait!" And I let it out slowly, "We still have to sing happy birthday!" She protested.

So, Ash started everyone off and they sang, I blew out the candles and we ate cake (which turned out to be three layers, vanilla, chocolate and red velvet). After cake it was time for presents, "You didn't have to give me anything!" I protested, "Seriously! It's fine!"

"I'm going to say something you told us," Kiawe said with a smile, "It's your birthday! You deserve something today!"

That was something I couldn't argue with, "True… but you didn't have to give me anything! The cake and party are plenty!"

Lana shoved a box into my hands, "We did this because we wanted to. Now, open it!"

So, I opened it to see perfect sized cuddle stuffed Pokemon, each of them looked like mine, "Where did you find these?" I asked her, hugging all of them at once.

Lana smirked, "I've got more talents then just fishing you know."

All of us looked at her and blinked, then, "You can sew?!" Sophocles asked, shocked.

Lana nodded, "I can only really do stuffed Pokemon, but my sisters love it so I haven't branched out yet."

"This is perfect Lana!" I told her, "Now I can just squeeze these whenever my Pokemon aren't around or they're busy and I want to hold them!" Which happens a lot as everyone could tell by their relieved faces.

"Open mine next!" Mallow beamed, giving me another wrapped gift.

Slowly, I opened it, not used to getting more than two gifts on Christmas from Ash and Delia since they were a bit tight for money and didn't let me give them the money my mother left for me. I nearly cried, "How did you get these?" I flipped through the book to see every single one of my mothers recipes written out clearly with protective covers on them so they won't get dirty quickly.

Mallow smiled, "Rotom and Roxy helped! I got the idea after you told us that the chocolate cake was your mothers recipe and wanted to know if you had them written down somewhere."

"I used to," I admitted, "But the notebook was destroyed when I was helping Delia in the kitchen."

"Oh! Right!" Mallow pointed out one more thing, "These protectors protect paper from anything, including Pokemon Attacks and fires so you don't have to worry about them being ruined over time! My dad and I use those for our recipes even though we don't look at them all that much."

"Thank you, so much," I had a feeling I was going to just give everyone a hug after all the presents (and there were still more because there were still more things on the table that were wrapped) since I was barely keeping myself from jumping up and giving them all one right now.

Then Sophocles placed one in my lap, "Here you go! Made in Sophocles Laboratory! I hope you like it!"

When I opened it, I was confused at what it was since all I could see was a light with a very small stand underneath it, "Sorry Sophocles, but… what is it?' I pulled it out and tried to figure out if it did anything special.

All I could find was a hole in the side right above the light that you could slide something into, "That's because there's more stuff in it!" He answered, beaming and pulling out metal sheets and slid one into the little slot, "When you turn the light on, it shows you the constellation wherever it's pointing! This way, you can still stargaze when you can't see the stars in the sky!"

I tore through the box and looked at all of them, "There's every constellation I can think of! Even some that no one refers to any more!" I beamed and put the Riolu one in it and turned the light on, pointing it towards the wall, "This is amazing! They look just like stars!" The exact Riolu constellation was on the wall with the 'stars' looking a lot like actual stars in the sky, "Thank you Sophocles!"

"I can't let my Space Friend down!" He proudly answered. Once we both realized we were a bit crazy about space (or at least constellations), we agreed that we were Space Friends and talked about space with each other at least once a week, if not more.

Then Lillie raised her hand like we were in class, "Autumn, would you like to open mine now?"

Right, there were still more to open, "Sure Lillie. What is it?"

"You have to open it to find out!" Ash protested before Lillie could answer, "You can't be told what it is!"

I rolled my eyes as Lillie smiled, "I don't mind telling her. She's going to find out anyway once she opens it."

"Yeah, but not knowing what it is while opening it is part of the fun," Sophocles stated.

Before anyone could say anything else I opened it and nearly cried once more. Inside was a key chain with a red flower frozen in a clear ball. After the incident with Stoutland, Lillie tried to give me back mine, but I refused, "You need it more than I do," I told her, even when she tried to give it back to me after she could touch Pokemon freely again.

Lillie smiled, "It's from my first Comfey flower necklace. I thought I could return the favor and give it to you so you can remember how it felt to touch people again whenever you're having a bad day."

"That is it!" I stood up and started with Lana then hugged Mallow, Sophocles and finally Lillie, "Thank you all so much! These are all amazing!"

"You're welcome," Lana and Mallow said, smiling.

Sophocles turned a bit red, "It was nothing. I just gave you something I knew you would like."

Lillie was red as well, but more than Sophocles, "It's your birthday. You deserve something."

I clipped it onto my belt on the front right side, "I'm carrying this everywhere I go now!"

Lillie was smiling as Ash bounded forward, "Open mine!" Then he paused, "Well, actually, it's a present from me and my mom, but you'll love it!"

Taking the present he handed me, I opened it and let a few tears out. It was a picture book of every picture I had ever taken, including the few I had taken with my mom, like the day I was born, "How did you find this?" I whispered, staring at the picture of a baby me in my mothers arms, "This… this was destroyed before I could make copies of it."

Ash smiled, "You can thank Riolu. She made multiple copies of every picture you have of your mom and you and gave them to us to put in here. The sheet protector things are like the ones in the recipe book Mallow gave you so you don't have to worry about them being destroyed."

It was hard to keep the tears in, but I still pulled him in for a hug, "Thank you, so much," I whispered.

He hugged back and whispered back, "You deserve it."

When I let go, Kiawe nervously came forward, "Well are you ready for your last present?"

"I don't know," I admitted, "All of you have given me amazing things and I don't think I'll be able to stop the crying if I see yours."

Kiawe smiled, "Well, I hope their happy tears," He answered, then gave me a small plant pot with a small bush inside of it, but I could already tell what it was because of the small roses already growing, "I couldn't think of anything else I could possibly give you that everyone else hadn't already taken, but then I remembered you telling me about a rose bush your mother planted and thought-" I crashed into him with a hug.

Tears were definitely falling from my eyes, "Thank you," I whispered, "For bringing this back to me."

I didn't see his reaction, but he did hug me after setting the plant down on a nearby desk, "I already asked the Professors, you can plant it outside your room window," He whispered and I just cried a bit more.

When I finally let go, Lillie asked, "Your mother planted a rose bush?"

I nodded, wiping the remaining tears from my eyes, "Yeah. That was the only thing I was able to convince… him not to destroy just as long as I took care of it. I… figured it was a good way to repay her for everything she did for me. And… whenever I was taking care of it it just… helped me feel closer to her even though she was gone."

Mallow smiled sadly and was also crying, "Yeah, I go on walks in the forest sometimes to help feel closer to my mother."

After playing a few games (which lifted the mood tremendously) we went home and the first thing I did was plant the rose bush. Kukui came out to join me, "Hey Autumn, did you enjoy your birthday party?"

I nodded, "It was amazing! The first one I've had actually! Since we didn't know when my birthday was until recently, Ash and Delia didn't do anything for it. Despite how much they tried to get me to agree to something it just… never felt right."

"I understand that," He nodded as he helped me pack dirt around the bush, "One year we celebrated my birthday early because we would be elsewhere on my birthday, but it just felt… wrong to celebrate on the wrong day."

"Now, since this rose bush is planted," He stood up and helped me up as I dusted off the dirt from my hands and clothes, "Are you ready for another present?"

I looked at him with wide eyes, "You have a gift for me too?!"

He nodded, "I do. You'll get it today, but only when you feel ready for it."

"I think I'm ready," I admitted, "What is it?"

"You'll see," He smiled and led me inside towards his room. Gently, he gave me a box, "I found these a few weeks ago and thought you might like them," I opened it to see a lot of different things, "Everything in there were things your mother wanted to pass down to her future children," I gave him a hug,

Slowly I let him go and looked through them with a teary smile, "Do you know why?"

"I do," He told me the story and meaning behind every thing in the box.

He finished just as Burnet came in, "Autumn! Happy Birthday!" She handed me a CD, "I hope you enjoy this one. With Roxy and Rotom's help, I compiled all of your recorded songs together and put them on here."

My eyes widened, "I've wanted to do that for a while now!" I admitted, "Thank you so much!" I gave her a hug, "Now maybe I'll start creating the videos for them!"

Burnet laughed, "I'll help in any way you want, just give me a warning alright?"

"I will, promise!"

That night, I went to bed hugging all my new stuffed Pokemon animals with the Riolu constellation on my wall next to my window so I could look at the rose bush outside with everything else on the table next to my bed. The recipe book was standing up to show it's cover while the photo album was opened to the page that had my mother and me on one side with the others on the other side with me in the middle. My new key chain was clipped on the recipe book. I fell asleep with a smile on my face from the best birthday I had ever had.
