...
Three days later.
Saturday, 13, January. 7:15am.
Sometimes, Catherine just wanted to throw up just to look up at the window from the passenger seat as the car was drove. She frowned at the picture. Anything that rhymed with goody and lovey dovey feelings, just wanted her to puke. It didn't mattered if it had seven o clock of the morning when Tess had awakened her up with such an alarming call and hard enough to wake up a dead person. And get her ass on a case with her partner. A early call from a old lady stated that she heard a few screams from the next building. A man and a woman screaming to each other like crazy. Was it of domestic violence? Cat wasn't so sure, it wasn't her kind of work. However, the precinct had been busy lately. Her words, not mine! She frowned back as she looked back at the glass where snow was wipping onto the car's passenger's door.
And to see couples holding each other's hands and exchanging kisses-Yuck!
And since Valentine's day was coming in a month, the whole world would be celebrating here and much to her own misery. With the hard job she has been doing, it was just hard enough to hold on altogether with a brave face. And even if her partner Detective Max Parsons was just a good and nice guy who was ready to ask his girlfriend to get married, it just didn't count.
Nor when he even paid an fresh new coffee with an handsome but nervous grin. A grin which it was to tell that he also shared the pain of being bounced out of bed, at early morning when it was his day off. Much like she was about to spend as well.
She just groaned at that thought. Maybe I'm just gonna be left alone and grow up like an old lady..
"Good thing, huh?"
"What?"
"I mean; that it doesn't rain, no?" Max had tried to cheer her up her own spirits here, as he held on onto the wheel with one hand with his eyes over the road."Heard it was about to rain a few days ago and the road would have been turned up onto ice, due to the cold weather, you know?"
"Wouldn't it changed anything?"
"Yup. More car accidents on the way.." He turned over to see her as she frowned even deeper. was an handsome young man in his early thirties, had a short brown haircut with brown locks falling onto his hazel eyes way. A beard of three days over his strong jaw, tiredness had shown up his through his features with the dark circles. Long daytimes and nightimes throughtout the job as Cat would have figured he was build enough, but lean over his shoulders. Wore a brown coat and jeans that carressed his own ass.
Attractive young fella. Young man whom had come up here from New Mexico, leaving the wildness from there to come up to an even more scarier and troublesome place like New York, Manathan. Figures. She brought back her attention to the glass as she put her chin onto her palm as her elbow held onto the door. By watching the endless falling snow over.
Oh, and by the way, Max was right in one way though. It didn't rain, cause if it did, her own heart would be breaking into a thounsand of tears by now. Enough to fill up a river. No wonder she hated these people who exchanged awaiting kisses right in front of her faces, when all she wanted to do was to puke her stomach out.Vincent.
Where he could be by now? It's been three years already, ever since they parted ways out. Out of fear. When she contacted that number and the very one that Tess had gave her many years ago, when they were partners. A number throughtout the witness protection coming from an retired FBI Special Agent, Diane Bennett and to which she managed the program before and still does, today. She had to make that call before, his life could've had been at anymore risk than it already been before. It was difficult, but she had known she had to do it.
Because she had loved him.
No. She still loves him.
No past tense meaning.
And yet missed him. Still.
Those eyes and the exact same ones that Max bore today, she still couldn't managed to forget them. The very same ones who begged her to not sent him away as he still laid onto that hospital bed when he was recovering from the injuries he had gotten himself into. includding the gunshot which had been meant for her, but as he had taken over after her father's wedding's reception and escapade when she drove up to catch him walk through the darkness.
And from where they had their silly fight and first kiss. First kiss, that she wouldn't let herself forget. A passionate kiss that she would cherish for the rest of her the car accident had come along. The gunshot. Evan coming in the way and saved Vincent. And then. Him gone from her life, ever since that night. The young brunette cop just closed up her eyes as she shook her head with disgust. At least, Tess didn't woke me up with an stupid and harsh hangover.
Cause, she felt like she needed a drink, but it wouldn't have had helped anyways. And even if her own sister wanted to drag her into clubs over meeting new people, she still didn't wanted any of it. Cause, there was only one guy that had taken her heart and nobody had been strong enough to replace him. Nope. Nobody was ready to replace Vincent Keller. At least for Cat, nobody was strong.
It's been three damn years ever since she last seen him as he had been drove off away with an new identity, a new life away from New York or whatever he had been sent to. He had been sad just to be pushed away by her, cause as long he decided to stay under hidding, his life would still be in danger, cause Murfield would still have been to track him down. Back then, when they've discovered he was still at large and from the way she had been by his side, now that she had found him after a nearly decade. After her mother's murder which it had come into full closure now the Special Forces group, or mostly the few agents from Murfield had been charged up by Homeland Departement Security. A little far too late. She growled with disgust. Deep down, she wanted to cursed them all of them. All the universe.
She had spit onto their own appolegizes. Lies. All of them were lies. They didn't even cared about her own family's suffering. Not hers as well. Try, and look for unanswered questions for ten years, at least and then we'll talk..
Too late. Cause many lives had been stolen by them and the goverment still hadn't done nothing to stop them. How much, Catherine wanted to rip them apart like a real and vicious lynx. A wild and uncontrolling beast. Make'em pay for their irreparable mistake of ever being stupid to let these monsters taking people's lives away when they were brought up to go and serve by protect their country. Did Vincent had forgotten or worse, hated her for putting him away?
Was he still a beast?
Why wouldn't he be? She wouldn't know about it. Whatever he still was or not? When they have had been thinking about their fake lives, together? What if? What if-
Catherine had felt herself being pushed off by her seatbelt, under sudden alert. She blinked off as a suprise yelp came out of her mouth. The car had held up back into a sudden stop, here. And enough to make her heartbeat go nuts. Still bafleed, she whirled around to look over at her partner who compared to her looked grim and unimpressed. His turn to frown or more like he was pissed here.
"Max! What on earth?"
"I've called you up, many times until now. When I saw those kids running to our directions, I had to make a stop here."
"Kids?" Cat had asked up still shaken by the sudden stopping alert when her head whirled back to the window as a few kids, three of them, had come up to her window and started to knock over her window with their mittens. One of them, though. Kids. Yeah. Close to be in their early pre-teens or even younger as she stated back. She rolled down her window when the cold air had came inside the car.
"Are you guys cops?" Had called one of them. A brown boy with red cap and with a blue winter coat and purple mittens.
"Yup, that's us.." Max had informed them back before Cat could've had as she pushed her locks of hair away from her eyes as she breathed out to calm down her nerves.
"A few screams were heard right up over there from the other building."
"A guy yelling like mad. Kept screaming like crazy here. It scared everybody!" A girl with dark hair and similiar eyes like Cat's with a purple coat and hat was pointing up to the building to their left side.
"Okay, okay.." Cat had tried to calm them down."Do you know who called the cops, I mean like us?"
"My grandma did. She said she could have had heard the neighbourhood hear the screams." The brave boy had said back. Must be about the call that Tess had mentionned. The domestic abuse thing and from the old lady's calling, an hour ago.
"And you mean from this building? The one over there?"
"Left yeah."
"Okay, buddy. You guys did good and leave it up to us, now." Max had followed up back and right next back to Cat."Time to show up, kitten." To which it made her frown.
"Don't call me kitten, kiddo.." And to which made Max smirk with amusement as he pushed his door open and had got himself out. Kids. With an annoyed grunt, Cat pushed the door out and got out. With her gun hanging onto its hostler and to finally hear the screams even way more louder once she reached outside view.
And from where they have been standing they've seen from the second balcony from the second floor, a young man with dark hair in his pajamas screaming with madness but with pain as he held out onto the bars like he was in prison.
"Good Lord.." Cat looked disgusted as much like her own partner was.
"You tell me, gal.." Max had called back before he took out his phone to call up for back-up. He was as much disgusted as she was now. It didn't mattered if it was modest neighbourhood.
Such as.
...
Max walked upstairs first along with Cat as they were walking up through the second floor with both guns onto their hold, and made it through the hallway.
"It's the third one?"
"With the number three on it? Could be. Let's knock and check, kitten-"
"I said; Don't call me kitten!"
"Just to annoy you, Cat..You look cute when you get all pissed of, you know?"
"Shut up and knock onto the door!" If this guy kept calling her a kitten, she might lose her shit and push right onto the face. As if she wasn't afraid of. But might make people afraid if they kept calling her a cute kitten. When she wasn't. She was an very pissed off kitten. Max stopped himself to the third door at the right and to where the number three was hanging upside down and knocked over while she stood to the other side, left and while he stood to right one.
"NYPD!"
But there was no answer.
"Think we should break in?"
"Knock again, and we'll see.." Cat muttured back through her lip which pulled up to her chin, as she tried to hide her annoyance. Max nodded back up again and brought up his fist to the door and knocked on it. But still no answer. Max turned up back for any needy help as the female detective hust shrugged back.
"Kicked it.." She advised back, but the young man had went the other way; He pushed the door wide and way open. Much to her irritated expression. Okay, but now whose gonna pay for the damage? Definally not me!
"NYPD! Police!" Max had went inside of the appartement whom seemed to be all quiet. As well, as Cat had come along into the place, ready to shoot to any misplaced surprise. The entry looked way too much quiet, and the table from the kitchen room looked all messy with the dishes and the mugs that had been left or more like they had been dropped onto the table. Much to the ustensils that looked like they had been dropped onto the floor. More like it as the cover from the table was being pulled off from the halfway down and the chairs pushed down onto the floor.
Yup, a fight had been occurred up. And somebody had gotten injured. Cat had figured out. Mostly it was the guy's fault or the girl's. She gulped up at the mess. Messy event. From what she guessed. What you see is what you get as they often say. And to which it made her second guess about their way in.
"NYPD! Hey-OWWW!" Max had yelled up again as she whirled around to see an pretty and slim brunette into her lacy but dark nightgown surfed all up to the picture as she attacked Max with a frying pan. What a damn surprise it looked like as the man curled over with a grunt. Pain in the ass, but not so much as the woman was ready to attack up again wiith the damn frying pan. Hey gal, we're not into some disney flick movie, heere!
"The crazy son of bitch, has been standing over there screaming and damn pain of his own damn ass and you make up the heck of a time-"
"And you might get yourself arrested for assaulting an officer of the law, you know?" Cat had spat out when she saw the poor man trying to get back with his senses. But the brunette woman hadn't wanted to hear anything. Better to call back-up and fast. Before anything bad can happen, once again. But where was the guy? The one screaming with pain?
"As if you could ever get any better than him freaking around with that freaky blond haired bitch, and you'll see-"
"Don't you ever shut up? Get ahold of yourself!" Max had rose up and tried to stop the brunette woman as she fought him back. Or tried to arrest to grab her both wrists from attacking anybody else or mostly his face. It took that moment for Cat to move away from the scene and made her way out to thebedroom where shorting breathings sounds were heard. Stay under guard. Cat followed up each step and until she reached the bedroom's soor whom was left wide open and from where she could see the drappes stained with blood here and from where her eyes lifted up down to the bed where an dark haired man was holding his private parts with the white sheets from the bed, with fear as he curled up like a kid, here. Unless, the wife did tried to kill him off for cheating onto her.
"Sir-"
"She done it-"
"What?"
"She's done it. She cuted it. She cut it. She cut it out.."
"Cut? What-" But Cat didn't needed to know as her eyes went down to the stained sheets with strickened fear. Oh God. Her eyes widened with fear and disgust. She gulped hard here when she finally saw crazy and wife bitch here had managed to cut his balls.Crap..
"Crap. What the hell?" Max had come up right behind her. But she was too strucked to even be able to move or to speak out. Cause she felt like she was gonna be sick here.
"She cut' em off..She'd done it.." All damn right, she had done it. And it was a man's worst nightmare. While the two officers of law felt their stomachs rolling backwards. There was a reason why Cat had never went through SUV, it's because of these hard cases like had often ended up bad.
And especially when a man was in fact the victim into the domestic abuse relationship. No wonder, she hated these cases. Cause her stomach was about to make her feel sick and throw up.
Not to forget, Max couldn't hold on as well.
...
"So, I presume, the guy went to the hospital. No?" Tess Vargas's stern voice was heard when her feet walked up to their desks into the precinct, after a few hours later. And yet, Cat felt like she wanted to die here. And wasn't quite ready to even be able to forget the scene she had been witnessed as a cop before. From all her entire career, she hadn't and never had to experience that sort of thing. And neither did Max.
"Internal bleeding through his private parts.."
"Private-"
"One of his testicles aka jewerly stuff had gotten cut off by his crazy and jealous wife, that's what Cat has been trying to say, you know?" Max had followed up after he took a sip from his coffee, he still looked green from the last event that had happened and close enough to have had fainted like a girl. Much like Cat had as well. Not the fainting part but had followed him after he had thrown up into the bedroom here right after the back-up forces had bursted inside and had arrested the woman whom claimed she had cut her husband's penis. In self-defense. Gee, yeah right. The knife had her prints and her husband's blood and sucky private parts onto it. Oh God.
"Don't make me spell the beans, here. I already feel sick, here.." Cat made a face back to her annoying captain."You do well know that I hate these cases. Domestic abuse among lovers.."
"And do you know what had happened where 'it' fell off.."
"Fell off, what?" Max had replied back with a wince much as he didn't remember the missing item that had been found a few miles away and down from the balcony, here. And neither did Catherine wanted to know that either. Thank God, they weren't the ones whom looked it out for 'it'.
"You know." Tess developped a smirk through her features, she was enjoying this. Not kinda compassionate, through."The man might never feel himself like a normal guy without it. And I mean, 'It'."
"Might sleep with an open eye, now." Max had suggested back as he rubbed his eyes, tiredly.
"For what? To make sure his wife doesn't kill him again? If there's still a marriage in the air.." Cat had clearified with a frown as she pushed her hair locks away from her face."Unless, he pushes it to divorce-"
"Unless, he survives the stabbing, you mean to say.." Max had cut her off, in the middle of the conversation when she gave him a mean look and took a sip of her coffee drink, when she heard Tess's snicker through their bickering. Her best friend had just got herself promoted as the first lead and female captain here with her white longsleeved shirt and sexy jeans along with her long curly hair and brown eyes, in this precinct just a few months ago. But had somehow missed the action and the adrenaline she felt whenever she and Cat had to go through together as partners. Looked like being a captain had often taken her out from the glory here, but she was more under the control of the place here on her own.
DEspite being single. Still. Beautiful women don't stay single forever. But Cat might.
"Okay, okay. Take it easy here, kids. No fighting here. Let's just see if the guy Mauricio makes it out through surgery and we'll see if the wife, Marcella is seen as a suspect."
"She is.." Cat had been convinced here but not as much when it came to Max.
"She just tried to kill the poor guy-" He rose his voice back as he almost brought up his fists onto his desk as his arms were showing up through his white shirt.
"By cutting off his balls, you mean?" Cat had warned back with a fake cough here when it came to Max's turn to make a frown. As Tess waved off her hands in defense.
"Whatever. Be nice guys. We don't need any other fighting here, so.." Tess's voice stopped up when her eye noticed some male blond haired cop in uniform waving up at her with another cop with dark hair and dark winter coat that had just gotten back from the winter blowing snow."I've got work to do here, if you excuse me here." She walked off through Cat's and Max's eyes as they observed her talking with the blond cop and the dark haired man here which they had recognized.
"Looks like Stamatakis is looking up at you, Cat.."
"Sorry, but I'm not interested here. Or else his girlfriend wouldn't take it easily.." She rose up her purple longsleeves and went to open up her computer, here.
"Don't take it the wrong way, Cat, but you're a pretty and smart woman here. It'll be a shame if you turn to be a old lady onto work." Max had called back, trying to be nice here which she waved off.
"Don't mind it. I've dated and kissed many frogs before, so I know that I'm not interested." Still, she declined his offer when her eyes went down to her open computer here.
"Liz knows a few guys from work, you know? She can introduce you a few, and maybe-"
"No, thanks.." She waved him off. Still not interested here.
"Come on!"
"No, freaking way! I'm good on my own, here. I don't need a man to survive or to make sure if my eggs are still doing okay.." Typical gal. Yeah, right.
"Unless, if you want to re-think it again." Max had waved up with a pencil to make her whirl around but she hadn't wanted to do or so. Still thinking that her partner wanted to fix her up with somebody-
"Nope. Ain't gonna happen-"
"Unless, it wouldn't be for a few questions, Cat." Tess had recalled once again when she walked back here, but looked damn serious here, this time when the brunette female cop had whirled her head at her best friend and to the dark haired cop with the winter coat. Orfeas Stamatakis. One great cop from Greece, or mostly Crete descent, was staring back down at her and from how his expression looked to be, it seemed serious. Was she into trouble here?
Something was not right here.
"Hey Stamatakis, so you've proposed?"
"Nope." He shrugged off with a sigh to Max's question. Distracted one anyways, but it quite didn't worked as his eyes kept onto Cat's.
"Why?"
"Cause, I've pissed right through my pants.." He sarcastically said back. As a lame and pissed joke.
"For real?" But not so much when the dark haired cop turned around to face Max as he waved his hands off.
"What do you think? Nope. I've hadn't gotten the time to do it, because my mind had been into the same case I've working from three days straight here..So, I couldn't give Tina a straight answer, because my ass was focused under a case." Stamatakis had rubbed his face and could probably use a coffee mug by now from what Cat figured out from his dark circles under his eyes.
"Tell'em what you've told me, Stamatakis and especially to Detective Cat Chandler, Stamatakis. She needs to know." Tess had told the man whom had sighed deeply as he had avoided her face.
"What do I need to know?" Cat felt herself concerned here, even if she didn't wanted to let it be shown here. Even if this tall and lean man here was making her feel like it. Did something had happened with her father or with Heather or Brooke, her youngest stepmother here?
"Cat-"
"I think's better if we take this conversation into somewhere private, it's not very safe to be heard here." Stamatakis had whispered out loud here. To which she rose up from her chair, with her eyebrows furrowed under suspicion.
"Am I under trouble here?"
"Nope."
"Then, you can tell me right here. I don't keep secrets with my partner here."
"She sure doesn't pal.." Max had warned the man about it as he folded his arms agaiinst built chest.
"It's not as easy to say when your partner's name and number was into the victim's phone here." The dark haired man had warned her partner with a glare."And EMT thought he wouldn't have had made it when they've reached up to the crime scene." That sentence had caught up Cat's attention here. The victim was a man? And he had her name and phone number? Since when?
"What the heck are you talking about?"
"Does the name Vincent Keller rings you a bell?" The dark haired man had cut her off a bit out of nowhere, rude true and right through her reply when her eyes had widened into shock as she held herself by the chair. Close as if she was about to have a heart attack here. "Because it sure was when it was found through his phone records. Valdez and I went right through the crime scene. Keller was still breathing. However the drunk driver wasn't. Some guy had wtnessed the scene and called the cops, dragging us here in the first place.." Stamatakis had followed on which it almost left the brunette female cop almost into shock here. Cause it did shook something deep down.
After three years, he had come back here after she had forced him to go away for him to be safe. He had come back, which it meant that he was safe to be himself and without being a threat to anybody. But how to explain that he had been involved into accident? Was he even alive? How badly she wanted to rush up to him right here and now. He was back.
Her heart felt like wanting to explode here and even felt alive after ongoing three and tiring years, of wondering if he was even alive. Elsewhere. She even felt him calling her through her dreams wanting to reaching her out.
"Cat?"
"Yeah? I'm sorry." Oh Damn. She didn't even realized she almost passed out through thin air here. And right through her friend captain and two male cops here, who were staring up at her strangely. Unless, Tess wanted to man up and take her defense here, but she didn't. Cat was on her own.
With her own stupid mixed emotions. And how badly and loud her own heart was beating up after such a longtime.
"Through his phone calls, he seemed or more like he wanted to reach you up before the accident had occurred up." Stamatakis had followed up after he felt her discomfort."Think, you would know this man, so that he would have wanted to reach you up?" Oh Boy. Somehow, Catherine felt like this conversation should had been kept in private instead being exposed through many eyes here. As they were staring right back at her for an wanting answer. But the feeling of exposing Vincent was out of reach here. She couldn't see herself doing that, even if he was free of any danger or not. But if he came back it must have had been for a reason. But for what?
"No."
"What was that, Chandler?"
"No. I don't know this guy." She had lied through her breath as she stared right back at the dark haired man here with defiant eyes here. Hoping he wouldn't figure out that she was lying right through his face. "And I don't know how the heck he had found my own number.."
...
Sorry, it's been hard to update lately. I wasn't feeling much too great. I've got myself a few heat rashes onto my neck due to the stupid and hot weather here, had been ordered to stay into bed rest until it had gotten better and started to working out my legs muscles once again. I've lost my uncle, a month ago and to which I still miss having him around now.
However, VinCat has been into my mind, I haven't forgotten about them or my fanfics. I've been working on a few chapters lately. One from The Villian One, another from Twisted Blood and another from One way or Another. A few from VinCat OneShots Collection. From where you can see from where Max Parsons comes from. Date Night from Manga Anime, InuYasha. Just A Few Crazy Hours, Before Midnight from Beyblade. We Never Have Sex Anymore, from Naruto and Sorry Is Not Enough from Carrie. Too many stories all at once. But enough to keep my mind in good position. Unless I wanna cry and be alone with my own misery..But thank you again, for your support and love, Beasties.
Think Cat would go and see Vincent? Now, that he's back? That's up to you to figure it out! Until then, see ya!
