Hello guys, long time no see. First I want to apologize for not updating sooner. It really shouldn't be that hard to frequently update short stories, so I don't really have a good excuse. I hope you like it anyway. Let me know! Oh and there will be a part 2 to this one! (Plus I haven't proofread this one, so I apologize for any stupid and for sure embarrassing errors you might find).
Enjoy!

A Wedding Story (Part 1)
A cold February breeze sent goosebumps up and down Jane's legs and arms. She shivered and pulled her coat tighter. Her brown silk and satin dress was barely reaching her ankles and it didn't do wonders to keep out the cold winter air. She was standing in front of the hotel waiting for their cab, when she saw a tall, dark figure approaching her from the left. She turned her head and smiled. She still couldn't get used to the sight of the Asgardian prince, her Asgardian prince. Every time she saw him she felt like a fifteen year old teenager, her hormones going crazy and her heartbeat doubling its pace.
Today it was even worse. Or better, depending on how one looked a t it. He was dressed in a black thee-piece suit, an emerald vest and a just as green tie over a plain white shirt. His hair, even darker than his suit, was pulled back in a pony-tail and his sparkling green eyes shimmered with vitality. His relaxed posture, one hand casually in one of his pants pockets, the other one carrying and umbrella, showed nothing of the freezing cold weather. He didn't even tremble. Of course, Jane thought, coldness didn't bother him as it did others. She shoved those thoughts to the back of her mind when he reached out for her, putting one arm around her shoulders, squeezing firmly. She looked up to him but his eyes were gazing over the street in front of them, scanning the area. She knew what he was thinking.
"No one is going to recognize you", she said as reassuring as possible. He, now looking down at her, raised his eyebrows in this sarcastic way Jane knew so well.
"Okay, okay. I know what you are going to say but I'm telling you again, no one will recognize you! I hardly recognized you myself in that suit, plus all they've ever seen you wearing was you armor... And you're way less menacing in human clothes, let me tell you that. And less, you know...", she put her outstretched index fingers on either side of her head, mimicking little devil's horns. Now Loki was grinning the mischievous of his.
"Less horny?"
Before Jane could punch him in the arm the fawn colored cab pulled up in front of them, the yellow sign that read "Taxi" on top of it. Once again Jane realized how much fancier regular cabs were in Germany. Loki was frowning as he reached for the door, opened it and waited for Jane to slide on the backseat. With a sigh and one last look at the car he followed her. Inside, Jane had already buckled up and was giving their destination's address to the driver. She then leaned back in the seat, giggling at the sight of Loki actually looking uncomfortable.
"Don't forget to put on your seat-belt", she said with a smile. Loki looked at her questioningly.
"My wha-", he started but Jane was already reaching over him, pulling the seat-belt across and buckling him up. He eyed the seat-belt suspiciously and shook his head.
"As if I'd need those, this is-"
"Oh come on" Jane interrupted him, reaching for his hand. "Just play along for today.!
He sighed but remained silent, staring at their entwined hands.
"What I meant to tell you, before you interrupted me earlier, believing you possibly could know what I was going to say", he stopped as the car jumped over a bump in the road. He sighed again and continued: "I was wondering if there is any particular reason why I can't just portal us there? It would save time and the polluted environment of you planet would definitely appreciate less cars." He said the last words with just a hint of sarcasm. Jane glanced quickly from him to the driver and back.
"Because", she said in a lowered voice, " we're not in Asgard, we're in Munich and we're attending a wedding. A human wedding", she emphasized. "It's much more wedding-like to arrive in a car and not to materialize out of nothing. Your traveling skills will have to rest until tomorrow."
"Very well." The corner of his moth twitched upward. He entwined his fingers with hers and then turned his attention to the outside. Even though it wasn't even noon , Munich was packed and they only made little progress through the city.
"So, what is your part at this wedding again?" This time it was Jane's turn to sigh. She felt like she'd explained it nearly a hundred times already. Well, she might have actually done exactly that. She has been the only Midgardian to attend the royal wedding, except Eric, but he had liked the Asgardian wine a little too much and soon after the ceremony he had excused himself to go to bed. So it has been up to her to explain the Midgardian wedding traditions and habits to the curious guests.
"In those thousand books you've read you've never found anything on Midgardian weddings?"
Loki shrugged and looked at her. "I never consciously looked for it. I've never had a reason to, not until now."
Warmth spread from Jane's heart through the rest of her body. She squeezed Loki's hand as they looked at each other. His eyes were gentle and full of adoration.
"Well then", Jane said with a shaky voice. "I'm Sarah's Maid of Honor, that means I'm their witness of the wedding, just like you have a witness too, and I'm going to sign their certificate of marriage with them. Usually there is one witness brought into the whole thing by the bride, her Made of Honor and one by the groom, his Best Man. The witnesses are accountable by law, in case of a divorce or something. And then there are usually bride's maids and groom's men. In America we tend to have more but Sarah and Martin are going to have two each. We-"
She stopped as the cab came to a halt. "Oh. Well, I guess we've made it."
To be continued!
