Viggo's pov:
We finally arrived back at the island, I looked at Hiccup who was still fast asleep. I shook him awake to tell him that we had arrived home. Hiccup was still unsure about getting used to his new home but I promised him that everything would be ok. Toothless joined us as we headed out of the ship. Some of the soldiers had crossbows and nets aiming right at my son. I told them to stand down, I lied and said that Hiccup is my guest and he will be staying for a while.
They bought it but as we were walking most of them were giving my son death glares. I took him to my hut and led him to the guest room since he didn't have his own room. "You should've let them kill me." Hiccup muttered.
"Not happening. I lost your mother, I will not lose you too. I know this will take some time to get use to everything here. But I promise son, no one will hurt you." I stated.
Hiccup looked at me like he didn't have much of choice. I left the room to let Hiccup get settled in with Toothless. As I closed the door, I saw that Ryker was waiting for me. He demanded to know why our enemy was here, I told him the truth, I told him that Hiccup is my long lost son. Ryker didn't believe me until I showed him the prove that this is mine and Valka's son. Now Ryker believed me, I made sure to tell him that he is to guard my son if he ever steps out of the house.
Hiccup's pov:
My skin was crawling, almost every single hunter wanted me dead and Viggo just steps in and lies for me. Maybe he had a heart there somewhere, What are you thinking?! He is still your enemy! I had enough being in this room, I opened the door a crack to make sure that Viggo wasn't around. I opened it more now that he was gone and I went deeper in the hut. I came across a room that made me curious. I slowly opened it and inside was an old nursery that had been collecting dust. I walked inside to look around, the room was filled with toys, clothes, and blankets.
I stopped when I saw a small wooden crib and inside it was an old photo. I picked it up and it was a picture of Viggo and my mother who was pregnant. "This was supposed to be your nursery." A voice said behind me.
I jumped a little when I saw that Viggo was watching from the doorframe. "A little warning would be nice." I snapped.
He just came to check on me and found out that I had found my old nursery. "Your mother and I were excited when we heard the news. She made a couple of the items here. The rest was from our people, they went a little over board." Viggo stated, "This was where your mother and I would have had with you, teach you to walk, hear your first words, teach you to play Maces and Talons. But we missed it all."
I guess it would have been nice to have both loving parents without any craziness, but I still would have refused to kill any dragons. Viggo walked me out of the nursery and told me that Ryker wanted to see me. My heart stopped, the same hunter that had been trying to kill me and the other riders wanted to see me. I told Viggo that I wasn't ready to even see the rest of other island. But Viggo insisted that I try to get along with Ryker since he is family. Reluctantly, I agreed to try and make peace with Ryker.
Surprisingly, Ryker actually apologized for all the pain he had caused me and the riders. He did offer to give me a tour of the village. I guess I could trust him for now. I agreed to the tour and he kept his word that he wouldn't let any of the men hurt me or Toothless. I had to beg and plead Viggo to let Toothless come and he caved in. "Yep. He is Valka's son. I remember she used to do the same thing with Viggo." Ryker stated.
I turn to him in shock "Mom did that?" I asked.
"She used to beg Viggo into joining her on dangerous adventures or when there was a dance she would bat those eyes of hers. He did have a weakness for green eyes." Ryker answered.
Viggo turned red with embarrassment as I laughed so hard. The Great Viggo Grimborn taken down by people with green eyes. Viggo practically shoved the both of us out of the door to save himself from more embarrassment. I think I could get use to things around here, even if it means hearing embarrassing stories about my parents. Ryker gave me a tour around the village and it was not what I had expected. Everything looked so normal, no weapons pointed at me or Toothless.
Instead everyone just acted so friendly towards us, it was both nice and creepy at the same time. There was something strange going on here but I shook the thought out of my head. Some of the village kids started playing with Toothless and I didn't really mind. Ryker took me to the catacombs where all the dragons were locked up. Some of them were covered in gashes and scars while others seemed to be ok. At least a few of the dragons weren't hurt or being neglected.
I saw that a Monstrous Nightmare was roaring at some of the guards. It looked like it was in pain from its jaw, must be a bad toothache. I ran over to the guards and pushed them out of the way. "Hiccup! Get away from there!" Ryker shouted.
I didn't listen to him, I walked slowly to the Monstrous Nightmare and held my hand out. I waited for it to put its snout on my hand and it worked. I made sure to keep it calm as I looked at his mouth, I found the tooth that was aggravating the poor dragon. I used all my strength to pull out the tooth and seconds later, the Nightmare finally felt better. Ryker and the guards just stood there with their mouths wide open with shock. The Nightmare pressed its face on my arm, thanking me from freeing it from pain.
The guards asked me if I could take a look at some of the other dragons here. They were actually interested in what I could do with the dragons. I followed them to a couple of cages and started treating the dragons.
