Mako and June sat out on the beach as they did for the past few nights of Mako's trip. He'd sneak out while Bolin was asleep and jog down to the beach. He'd find her in the same spot. A cove sat to the side of the beach that met with the water line, only lit by the moonlight. He fixed his hair out of eye shot and smoothed his shirt. He saw her sitting watching the moon as she did. Beautiful, he thought.

"Hey." He said as he sat down next to June. "Watching the moon again?" He said, smiling at her.

"As always," she laughs, "Ya know I feel so one with the sun most times that I forget how peace lives in the moon." She said finally looking at him.

He gleaned at her, and moved a piece of hair behind her ear. "You're beautiful in the moonlight."

"Alright waterboy don't get all sappy just cause it's your last night." June says chastising him.

"It's the truth though." Mako said, leaning back looking up at the moon.

"No brooding." She said, popping his thigh.

"Yeah well I leave tomorrow." He says poking his lip out at her. She leaned in about to kiss and moved back at the last minute, leaving Mako with puckered lips.

"C'mon man" he whined. "I can feel sad."

"Yeah but we'll see each other again." June says nonchalantly. Mako somewhat felt out of his comfort zone, usually he's the nonchalant one.

"I gotta atleast get your number?" He said back.

"Definitely." She said getting up. She held her hand out for him and he pulled himself up. She wrapped her arm around his neck and looked into his hazel eyes.

"Yes I'll give it to you tomorrow, it's almost 12 I don't want you to get in trouble." She kissed him slowly and he returned the kiss. She pulled away and gave her goodbyes. "See you in the sun, love." She disappeared into the moonlight, long hair swaying. He was dazed.

Morning came and Mako felt like shit. The week and a half he'd been there was probably the best time of his life and it was thanks to June. He got out of bed slowly putting on his shirt. He started packing his bag and woke Bolin. He then went to get ready in the bathroom.

It was a long ride down the elevator, he tried to hide his sadness but he couldn't. *Ding* the doors opened and he slowly began his walk. He met with Korra, Asami, and Kya.

"Morning Mako." Kya said as he walked up.

"Morning," he said, trying to sound cheerful. Kya pulled her glasses down a bit to peek at him and smiled, putting them back up. "Young love." She thought.

The van pulled up in no time, marking the end of their vacation. Sung pulled up and June hopped out. Mako's mood slightly picked up as he saw his beauty. He threw on a crooked grin as they both walked to the trunk to put everyone's luggage up.

"Gonna miss me water boy?" June said smiling.

"Depends on if I get your number." He said flirting back. He closed the van doors and looked at her.

"Maybe." She touched his hand then walked back to the van. He got in, cheesing.

The van slowed as they approached the ship dock. They all piled out and began to get their luggage. Mako walked to the dock to board the ship as the ship's horn blew to signal, time to leave.

June stood on the dock as the ship's deck rose back up. Mako leaned over the rail.

"How bout it, moon girl?" He smiled. June dug in her pocket and pulled out a piece of paper.

"Here." She reached her hand out to give the paper to him. But she was a second too slow as the boat started to move and the freed paper whipped in the ocean breeze. Mako tried to reach for it but to no avail. June tried to call out her number but he couldn't hear it over the wind. He only caught the last four numbers. "8765". He couldn't believe it. He walked to the common lounge as Amber Island faded out of view. He slumped down next to his friends listening to their useless chattering.

"What's wrong with you?" Bolin asked his brother.

"Didn't get June's number did ya?" Asami said.

"June? What do you mean?"

"Bo you seriously didn't peep that?" Korra said, shocked.

"Hell no!"

"Bro was sneakin on the beach for the past week." Korra said "Damn you're one hard sleeper."

"Where the hell have I been the last week?" Bolin asked incredulously.

Mako didn't wanna hear anymore as he put his headphones in sad.

Mako was brought back from his thoughts as he heard knuckles tap against the door. He looked up, still holding the frame in his hand.

"Ahh no way you still got that picture?!" Korra hopped over to him to look. "Man that was bout 10 years ago!" Korra looked over at the picture once more and noticed June. "Ah your long lost love." Korra said pointing at June.

"Man what! I tried looking up every number that ended in 8765." Mako laughed.

"What made you think about our school trip?" Korra asked intrigued.

"Well honestly it started because I thought about taking a trip, but.." he trailed off rubbing his neck.

"What do you mean 'but'? Go take a trip me and Bo got this."

"Yeah but who's gonna do the accounts and make sure the finances are good?" Mako replied back.

Korra sat in his chair and thought about it for a second. She jumped up and then smoothed out her suit. "Asami!" She said sitting back down.

"What about her?" Mako asked.

"Well she's good the with money thing ya know, accounts and finances. I'll ask her after work, I got a coffee date with her."

"I don't know…" Mako started.

"No fuck that you're going! I'll ask her and let you know, start finding your vacation." She walked out, "Bo!"

Korra pulled up to the coffee shop. She loved the little coffee dates her and Asami have been having every Thursday. She hasn't seen her boys in a few weeks but Asami keeps her updated, she's just happy to keep spending time with her. Korra hopped out of her Jeep and walked in. She grabbed her table by the window and sat down. The door chimed as another person walked in. Korra looked and saw her lover, she waved her over.

"Hi, my love!" Asami said leaning in to kiss Korra. She sat down and crossed her legs.

"Hi babe, how was work?" Korra asked.

"It was really well actually! After the launch meeting for the new Sato laptop everything has been pretty chill, now we're just waiting for the day they hit the market." Asami finished. She leaned in and placed her hands under her chin. "How was your day?" She asked.

"Pretty quiet also, other than Mako may be taking a trip." Korra said as the waitress, Ino came. Since they were pretty much regulars now Ino was their waitress and she had already known their order by heart.

"Thank you," they both said in unison.

"Wait, Mako? A Trip? You sure about that?" Asami asked, shocked.

"Yep, Yep, I walked in on him looking at the photo of our College trip to Amber Island. I told him he might as well go on a trip but he's having doubts." Korra finished

" What Amber Island! That feels so long ago. I feel so old." Asami reminisced.

"Man what, it was 10 years ago." Korra said feeling her age creep on her.

"But what do you mean by doubt? He's always working. Why not go have fun?" Asami asked

"Well he's worried about the finances and accounts."

Korra said.

"Yeah, well I mean I'd be worried too with you and Bo, but why not just hire somebody temporarily?" Asami said, sipping her coffee. Korra threw a big grin across her face.

"Wellllll, that's where you come in. I know you're good with this kind of stuff so might as well have you fill in. Pleaseeee?"

"Ahh well I don't know Korra, I would have to get trained on how you guys do things and I also need to see how long Mako is gone."

"Okay, Okay just think about it, I doubt he'll be gone for more than two weeks. But you did say work has calmed down so it shouldn't be that bad huh?"

"Yeah but what about the boys? I have to pick them up after school and if I have to worry about my job and Mako's I won't have time to get them."

"I will! I can get the boys and I can make sure Jinora and Kai are there and I can be back at work. I'll just take my lunch break later. C'mon Sami, it'll work out!" Korra said half pleading. It was like a two for one: Working with her girl and being able to see her sons. What could be better? Korra kept on with the puppy eyes until Asami gave in.

"Fine Korra, Two weeks, and tomorrow meet me at their school at three so I can show you what you'll be doing."

"Yes!" Korra fist pumped. She gets to work with her lady and see her kid full time for two weeks? Perfect.

"Pipe down, pipe down. We still gotta work out the details and the boys aren't just kids. They have personalities so it's gonna be a handful. " Asami laughed.

"Hey, hey you don't think I can do this huh?" Korra said, turning up her nose.

"We'll I mean… you haven't exactly done the parent thing, soo.." Asami said, trying to hold a laugh.

Korra turned to her with a determined face. "Is that a bet Ms. Sato?"

"Ha that's funny you know that wasn't even suppose to be my last name right now." Asami said, getting up smirking.

"That, that was cold." Korra said, turning around in her chair.

Asami smiled, "Either way we can have this little bet." Asami said with a hand on her hip.

"And if I win?" Korra asked. Asami rolled her eyes.

"We can talk about that later. Are you gonna sit there all night or are we gonna go back to your place and talk about the details?" Asami smirked.

Korra laughed. "Did you just invite yourself to my house?" She said getting up.

"Oh please, like you weren't gonna come up with some good awful corny line to get me there." She said switching legs. "Are we going or not?"

"Yeah, yeah let me get my jacket. You're not gonna try to jump my bones when we get there are you?" Korra joked while holding the door open.

"Yeah you wish." Asami said walking out the door.

Mako had been home for about an hour. He kept contemplating if he should actually leave or not. But he trusted Asami. After an hour of back and forth she decided to go. He quickly grabbed his laptop and searched for the earliest boat ride. As he clicked for the final submission he noticed a pop up for a particular tour. If he'd ever grinned this would be the biggest one yet. He couldn't hide his excitement and went to go pack. Even though he didn't leave for another two days. "I gotta go tell Korra!" He got up and decided not to text her, and figured she'd be home, she usually keeps the door unlocked. He raced down the hall to tell the good news. He came up on the door and barged right in.

"KOR- Oh fuck." He said, trying to hide his eyes. There Korra sat, in her sports bra...with Asami straddling her waist.

"I-I my fault!" He said, trying to back out.

"Geez Mako don't you knock!" Korra yelled. Asami, who was still fully dressed, just got up and laughed.

"Kor stop whining." Asami handed her, her shirt and she slid it on pouting. Asami sat down on the bar stools at the island. "Mako you can uncover your eyes," she laughed.

Mako's face was flushed and he pulled his hand from over his eyes. "I'm sorry I just had some good news." Korra came over and sat down next to Asami.

"Well since you're here might as well tell us… not like we were doing anything" she said mumbling the last part. Asami slapped her back, making her sit up straight. "Stop pouting. Come one Mako what is it?" She said leaning forward on the counter. Mako took that as an invitation to enter fully. He leaned on the Island top and began talking. He was cut off by the door swinging open again. Bolin.

"Okay!" Korra exclaimed. " New rule you don't knock you get knocked" Korra yelled, throwing her hands up.

"Oh did I interrupt?" Bolin asked.

"No but your older brother did. Well let's just make this a party come on in Bo" Korra said sarcastically.

"Oh shit, cool. " Bolin said as he sat next to Korra. She just rolled her eyes.

"Mako go on." Asami said.

"Well I decided to go on the trip!" He said happily.

"Wooo! For how long?" Bolin asked.

"For two weeks!" Mako said "Asami I assumed you said yes?" He half asked and half pleaded.

"Yes, I did tomorrow I need your run down on everything okay and I will try not to call unless I have too. Cause I know these two are no help." She said pointing to Korra and Bolin.

"I mean… no lies told." Korra said laughing.

"So where are you going?" Bolin asked.

Mako, if he ever grinned, this would be the biggest one yet. He pulled out his phone and showed everyone.

Mako looked across the ocean as he once did a time before. Before he knew it the boat docked. He picked his bag up and walked to the shore line. He should be meeting his tour guide any moment now. He put the bag down and checked his phone to let his friends know he'd made it. He didn't notice the familiar figure that stood next to him and leaned on the rail.

"Hey waterboy," she said.

His head jolted up. Hazel eyes met jade ones and they almost melted into hers.

"Moon girl." He said softly.
