Since arriving to her room, Roman held his wife close. He could feel her gripping his shirt as she cried into his shoulder.
"Baby, I'm okay. No harm.", he whispered as he kissed her head.
She continued to cry. His family and hers had left the room to give them space.
"Hun, please remember your c section scar. It can open up if you aren't careful", he added.
She finally pulled away and wiped her tears, he helped and kissed her forehead.
"Your arm", she said softly, touching the bandage gently.
"Just a scratch. Promise", he said.
He rested his forehead against hers.
"Is she…", Amaya stopped.
He nodded.
"And Val?", she asked.
"Haven't had a chance to check. Came straight to you and my kids", he replied.
She nodded.
"I should have been there", she said.
He quickly shook his head no.
"Absolutely not. I am so fucking happy you and the kids weren't there. I would have lost my fucking mind if anything happened to any of you. So I'm thanking god and the trio for coming when they did.", he said.
She kissed him gently.
"I love you", she said.
"And I love you more baby", he replied.
Someone knocked on their door before Phil popped his head in.
"A nurse let us know Val is out of surgery", he said.
Roman nodded and Amaya wiped her cheeks again before one of the triplets started to wake.
"Someone is hungry", Roman said, walking over to his daughter and lifting her.
Amaya chuckled. April came in next.
"I can help her if you want to check on Val", April said.
Roman looked at his wife.
"I need to know she's going to be okay. She saved your life after all. She's Autumn's mom, our friend", Amaya said.
Roman nodded and handed her Capri.
"I'll be right back", he said, before kissing his daughter's tiny head.
"We'll be here", Amaya replied.
Roman left his wife and kids with his sister in law and mom. He found the nurse still with Phil.
"This is Roman Reigns", Phil introduced.
"Mr. Reigns, glad to see you're okay. She hasn't woken up yet, but she is doing great. Now its just about her healing", the nurse said.
Roman nodded.
"Mind if I see her?", he asked.
"Of course. Please follow me", she said.
"I'm gonna go see if I can hold one of those triplets", Phil said.
"Heads up, she's feeding right now", Roman said.
Phil sent him a thumbs up before he followed the nurse. Walking into a room, Val was fast asleep.
"How long before she wakes?", he asked.
"Its going to be a few hours. If you would like, I can let you and your wife know when she is", the nurse said.
Roman nodded.
"Please", he replied.
The nurse nodded, Roman went back to his wife's room. Getting there, Glen was there with a detective.
"Mr. Reigns, there you are. We were just enjoying a wonderful conversation with your wife. I saw your triplets, too cute", Glen said.
Roman nodded.
"Thank you", he replied.
"This is detective Cortez, he's been looking into Jane from the beginning", Glen introduced.
Cortez shook hands with him.
"Just wanted to ask you a few questions if that's okay with you", Cortez said.
Roman nodded.
"Do you mind if we do this here? I really don't want to leave my wife", Roman said.
"Of course we can", Cortez said.
Roman nodded and took Amaya's hand.
"So, how did you meet Jane?", Cortez asked.
"She was my ex's sponsor, therapist, I guess you can say. At first we mostly spoke to her on the phone, till Valerie decided she wanted to come home. I met her once or twice to discuss what we should do to help Val", Roman said.
Cortez nodded as he wrote it down.
"Its safe to say you two never…", he stopped.
"Never. Didn't even think about it.", Roman said.
Cortez nodded.
"Mrs. Reigns, you never met with her when your husband did?", he asked.
"No. I trust my husband", Amaya said.
He nodded.
"And just to inform you, even though you probably already guessed. She wasn't actually pregnant", Cortez said.
Roman nodded.
"What happened in the house before Valerie and Glen got there?", Cortez asked.
"We were missing a baby bag, so I volunteered to get it. I wanted to come home to shower and make sure the babies room was ready for them. When I walked out of my closet, she was there, gun pointed at me", he said.
"She shot you?", he asked.
Roman nodded and looked at his arm.
"She wanted me to hurry before someone came looking for me, I think. Then Val shows up, hits her with a bat. Jane shot her and then Glen and his team show up", Roman said.
Cortez nodded. He closed his notepad before looking at them.
"Its safe to say we can close this case now. I'm sorry for what happened to you and your family. You can all rest easy now", Cortez said.
Roman and Amaya nodded. They said their goodbyes to Cortez and Glen. Amaya smiled at Roman.
"He's right you know, we can rest easy.", Amaya said.
Roman smiled back.
"We can. We can also enjoy our kids without looking over our shoulders.", he added.
As they were getting ready to leave the hospital, they let them know Valerie was awake. Roman took Autumn to go see her.
"Thank you, Val. We owe you", Roman said.
"No you don't. You've done so much for me, for Autumn. After everything I did to you guys, this is me repaying you.", Valerie said.
Roman shook his head.
"You never had to do that. Amaya and I did it because we wanted to help, and for Autumn. She is half mine afterall", Roman said.
Valerie nodded.
"How's Amaya?", she asked.
"Good. She's relaxed knowing you're okay now", Roman replied.
"And the triplets?", she asked.
"Tiny, adorable, and perfect", he smiled.
She returned it.
"Can't wait to meet them", she replied.
"We'll come and visit you tomorrow. Hopefully Amaya can come too. She wanted to come now, but the trio was hungry.", Roman said.
Valerie giggled.
"I brought her into your lives, and I'm sorry", Valerie said.
Roman shook his head no.
"You couldn't have known, just like we didn't know. We are going to continue to help you, because to us, you are family", Roman said.
Valerie nodded.
"We will let you rest, see you tomorrow", Roman said.
"Tomorrow", Valerie replied.
Autumn hugged her before they left.
Once at his parents house, they laid the triplets to sleep and Amaya decided she needed a good nap too.
Autumn and Malia were watching a movie with his parents. He was watching his wife sleep.
"My whole world", he whispered.
