The next morning, I woke up with my head on Shaun's stomach. The look in his eyes was beautiful and he was smiling down at me, even though I know I looked like shit. It was comforting to know that he was still so loving even when I was at my worst.

"What are you smiling at?" I asked and moved up to rest my head on his shoulder.

"Only the most stunning girl I've ever seen," He replied, making me blush. "And she's all mine for the next six days."

"Oh my god, six days?!" I asked in amazement.

"Six whole days," He smiled just as someone knocked on the door. "I got it."

"Jeez Shaun, no need to be so jumpy," It was Rebecca. "We swept the whole boat for anyone who could be suspicious."

"I'm still not taking any chances," He said stubbornly.

"How is the princess feeling?" Rebecca laughed. It fit because that's exactly how Shaun was treating me.

"Better, surprisingly," I answered honestly. "Still not great but better."

"Do you want to come sit in the shade by the pool? I miss the only other female part of this team," She whined.

"Sure," I said happily. "I just have to change and figure out how I'm going to get down there."

"I'll bring her down," Shaun said.

"Okay, don't take forever," She replied. "You've hogged her enough Shaun."

"Oh well I'm sorry she was emotionally and physically limited for the past few days," He scoffed. "As if that was my fault."

"Yeah yeah," She said and left. I was already changing into one of the light sundresses I'd found in the drawers. I was half done by the time Shaun turned back around.

"God, you look like an angel," He said and helped me tie up the halter straps of the white dress. "I don't want to share you with Rebecca."

"Well you have to or guess who's not sleeping in here," I threatened and spun around to look at him. I brought my hands up to fix a few wrinkles on his shoulders. "Let's go."

"Alright," He mumbled and put his arm around my waist.

I needed the extra support because walking long distances was still a challenge. Good thing Shaun was stronger than he looked and more importantly was nicer than he seemed or else not even I would have been able to make him help me. Or make him share.

"Okay, you need to tell me everything I've missed," Rebecca demanded after we'd shooed Shaun away.

"Well he told me he loves me," I offered and she gasped.

"NO WAY!" She exclaimed. "You got the cold and calculating Shaun Hastings to feel emotions?!"

"I guess," I laughed. "Oh my god Rebecca, he's the sweetest thing ever when we're alone. He's like freaking Shakespeare with his compliments. If I wasn't a linguist I would never be able to keep up. He's always doing sweet little things or giving me compliments or just being the best human being in existence. He carried me onto the balcony last night just so I could watch the sunset."

"Is that when he told you?" She asked with bright eyes.

"Yeah, it was perfect," I sighed happily in the shade. "He's perfect. And now we have six whole days together."

"That you do, because Desmond wasn't too great off either," Rebecca told me. "They took a different torture route with him."

"Yikes," I said. "What happened?"

"A couple of the guys raped him," She answered quietly.

"Oh my god! The poor man! Is he doing okay?" I asked.

"Why would you care?" I heard some else voice, it was Desmond.

"Because you're my friend, as much as you annoy me and make me want to punch you again," I told him. "I care about you Des, it's just more like a brother and a sister than anything else. I don't want you to be traumatized or anything."

"Well thanks," He gave me a small smile. "I am kind of scarred for life though."

"Fair enough," I said. "Just don't go jumping off the room's balcony or something. We need you."

"Okay," He sighed and sat beside me, pulling his knees up again. It wasn't long before Rebecca went for drinks, leaving Desmond alone with me. "So Shaun really loves you."

"Yep," I said easily and laid back in my chair. "And I love him more than anything in the world."

"Good, he deserves it," Desmond surprised me by saying that. "He's alone a lot."

"Not anymore," I smirked and so did Desmond.

The rest of the day was relatively easy. We got food, Desmond got a little more comfortable and Shaun was so paranoid that I'd fall over that he never let me go. William was his usual self, albeit a little more careful considering his son's condition. Dinner was an easy event and before I knew it, Shaun and I had the night to ourselves. We were walking slowly along the deck.

"Listen to that," I sighed happily and leaned against Shaun. "The music is beautiful."

"It's a waltz," He concluded. "Music to dance to!"

Before I knew it, Shaun had swept me up and we were twirling around in a smooth dance. Usually I couldn't dance but with Shaun leading, it was easy. Not to mention fun. He could definitely dance. His hands were gentle but kept me upright and he never looked down at his feet. Instead his eyes were boring into mine, smoldering with emotions. In the moonlight, Shaun was definitely beautiful. As the song came to an end I couldn't help but get up on my tip toes, pull him down by the neck and press our lips together. After the smoldering kiss, Shaun left his forehead pressed against mine.

"How did I ever get so lucky?" He drawled.

"I think that's my line now," I laughed. "God. You're smart, you've got the accent, you're an excellent kisser, you're the sweetest thing in the world and you can dance better than a professional. Oh and I forgot drop dead gorgeous."

"Please, I'm not attractive," He sighed.

"Of course you are!" I argued. "I think I might also be a bit biased but it's still true."

"Whatever you say love," He smirked and kissed me.

"Good to know you already know how to argue with a woman," I joked.

"I never thought I would use it to be honest," He laughed. "I figured we'd have all been dead by now."

"Well thank god you're not," I leaned into him. Mostly because he was comfy but also because I was getting kind of tired.

"Come on, let's go back to the room," Shaun said after I yawned for the third time in two minutes.

"But it's pretty out here," I complained as he led us back.

"But you need to rest," He countered and I just took in as much of the stars and sea as I could before we made it back.
