A bit longer chapter for everyone because I was unable to post a chapter yesterday sorry

The next day it was thundering loudly as big fat raindrops dribbled from the dark sky, keeping the children from going outside. In fact you couldn't even see the mountains or the woods through the heavy downpour.

"Of course it would be raining," groaned Snotlout slumping on the couch after breakfast sneering at everyone.

"Stop grumbling, it should clear up soon anyways,"

"Gastrovascular," droned Fishlegs who had for some reason decided that working on vocabulary was a good idea, even Hiccup who liked to nerd out nearly as much as him was bored and staring out the window "Come on guys, gastrovascular!"

"Well is it Latin?" moaned one of the children in a bored, disinterested voice while they were fiddling with the couch cushions.

"Yes," responded Fishlegs with his book open.

"Is it Latin for the worst game ever?" scowled Snotlout looking like he wanted to punch something just to entertain himself.

"Or most Bore- or- or- oring!" drawled out Tuffnut turning on and off the light in the room as fast as he could leaving the whole room's light flickering on and off.

The others tried to contain their laughter at this as Fishlegs closed the book seemingly disgruntled.

"We could play Hide and Seek!" said Hiccup eagerly walking over to Dagur with pleading eyes, besides it wasn't as if they had anything better to do.

"But we are already having so much fun…" said Dagur sarcastically twiddling his thumbs.

"Come on Dagur please!" said Hiccup tugging on his arm as Snotlout rolled his eyes at his cousin contemplating whether or not to say anything before realizing he didn't have the energy and just stayed silent, the rain always made him drowsy anyways.

"Its not a half bad idea," commented Astrid with a shrug knowing that if they ddient think of something to do the twins would wreck the place and get them thrown out, but at least it could never be too boring with them around.

"Please, pretty please," begged Hiccup a little quieter knowing Dagur was about to give up soon anyways, he always had a soft spot for the younger boy viewing him as almost a younger brother.

"One, two, three," started Dagur as a grin lit up on the younger boy's face and everyone started to run off into separate directions,

"What!?" yelled Snotlout annoyed but getting up anyways to go hide.

"Four, five, six, seven," continued Dagur from downstairs as Heather hid behind a curtain and Astrid squashed herself into a trunk.

Fishlegs managed to find a large cabinet to squeeze himself into though it was clear so if anyone turned their heads they could see a large boy pressed up against the glass.

Ruffnut and Tuffnut began fighting over a spot and instantly gave away their location causing them to have to move from their amazing spot, no I am not telling you what that is because it is just so amazing and an instant win. ( It's the dryer if you can keep your balance in there and have a friend pile clothes on you nobody will ever find you )

Both Hiccup and Snotlout ran into the same hiding spot at the same time, a small alcove covered by a curtain, but Snotlout quickly pushed Hiccup out, "I was here first!" he told him, causing Hiccup to huff and run away trying to find another spot as he shook multiple doors trying to find one unlocked.

He found one unlocked finally and inside was a tall structure with a once white cloth on it now fading towards yellow. As Hiccup stepped forward curiously pulling off the white curtain revealing a dusty brown wardrobe with engravings on it one was of a tree he noticed.

Opening up one door and having several mothballs clatter out before stepping inside thinking to himself with a smile that nobody would find him in here if he stayed towards the back even if they did look in here.

The long fur coats didn't seem to end though, Wow this must be an enormous wardrobe! He thought to himself stepping back even further hearing a crunch. Must just be some mothballs, and continued on his way when he realized everywhere he stepped there was crunch and the wardrobe was suddenly getting… brighter?

Soon he was standing outside where the wardrobe should have been where instead there was a thicket of bushes, he wondered if he could get back, turning back around he realized he was in a snow filled forest… How did he get here?

With a gasp he propelled himself not really thinking at the moment into the snowy woods staring at awe at the place, this must be where the trolls are hiding! Ahah! I have finally found them! I can't wait to rub this in my cousin's smug face! And I can also find Gobber's and my missing left socks!

Unbeknownst to him a faun was watching him with reserved curiosity, could this be what the White Witch was looking for?

"Snap," went a branch a clumsy hoof had stepped on causing Hiccup to look around frantically, finally realizing the danger this could be, walking around in a strange land.

The snow crackled as Hiccup kept circling around trying to find where the noise came from, its just an animal… just an animal hopefully a nice one…

"A-anyone there?" he said through chattering teeth when he realized the creature was behind him and he fell backwards screaming like a girl and darting behind the lamppost like that was going to hide him. He was skinny, but he wasn't That skinny. The strange half goat man without a shirt on in the middle of winter, with curly dirty blonde hair who was also holding an umbrella stumbled back dropping the stuff he was carrying, before hiding behind a tree.

They stayed like this for a couple of moments, with Hiccup glad his cousin wasn't here otherwise he would have mocked Hiccup endlessly for his girl-like scream, Hiccup would never hear the end of it. Before Hiccup's curiosity got the better of him, after all if it was trying to hurt him it would have done it by now? Right?

Peeking out from behind the lamppost he carefully approached the half goat man after he picked up his stuff, and handing it to him before asking, "Were were you hiding from me?"

"Well, I- No no, I just- I- I- I- I um- I just um- I just didn't want to frighten you," he stuttered the half goat man picking up the rest of his stuff and dusting the snow off of them as they circled each other cautiously.

"If you don't mind me asking, what are you?" asked Hiccup staring up at him and examining his strange body.

"Well I am a- well i'm a faun, and what about you? You must be some sort of beardless dwarf," the faun inquired.

"I'm not a dwarf!" protested Hiccup, "Im boy,"

The faun gave Hiccup a strange look which he missed. "And actually I'm the tallest in my class," lied Hiccup, but the faun wouldn't know that, well at least he hoped, and its not like the subject was going to come up again… probably.

"You're telling me, you're a Son of Adam?"

"Um, my dad's name is Stoick-"

"No- you are in fact human,"

"Yes, of course," said Hiccup. It was his turn to give the faun a strange look.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well I was hiding in a wardrobe in the spare room and-"

"Spare oom?" he questioned, "Hmm, is that in Narnia? Now i'm starting to wish I paid more attention in geography class when I was a young Faun,"

"Narnia? What's that?"

"You're in it, everywhere from the lamppost, all the way to castle Cair Paravel on the Eastern Ocean, every stick and stone you see every icicle is Narnia!"

"This is an awfully big wardrobe," commented Hiccup looking around in awe again, he still had no idea what magic was at work or how his grandfather had obtained a Magical Wardrobe with a whole universe in it, or if it was another one of his fantasy dreams, but the coldness felt real, everything did, even if it was a dream he might as well make the most of it. He absently wondered if there was maybe another Hiccup out there having adventures, there probably was if you there was multiple dimensions! Maybe one fortunate one didn't have Snotlout as a cousin and was exploring the world right now!

"War Drobe?" said the faun saying the strange word, before he could ponder this he realized he failed to introduce himself, "Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Tumnus,"

"Pleased to meet you, im Hiccup Haddock," responded Hiccup before extending his hand causing Mr. Tumnus to look at the extended arm dubiously, Hiccup briefly thought about retracting it remembering how his cousin and his friends loved twisting peoples arms or yanking on them instead of shaking it and laughing afterwards.

Though the faun seemed to polite to do such a thing. "Your supposed to shake it,"

"I- why?" he questioned, causing Hiccup to think for a moment not really knowing why, he guessed it was just some sort of greeting developed over time, sort of like hello, afterall why do we say hello?

"I don't know," he responded Hiccup truthfully, "People do it when they meet each other,"

Tumnus still looked doubtful but extended his own and started to "shake it" but it was more swinging it from side to side as Hiccup laughed.

"Well then Hiccup Haddock, from the shining city of War Drobe, in the wondrous land of Spare Oom, how would it be if you came and had tea with me,"

"Oh thank you very much, but I probably should be getting back," said Hiccup politely glancing back at where the place that should take him back, that's when he started to feel anxious, what if it was only one way, before his thoughts were broken into by Mr. Tummnus.

"It's only just around the corner, and there'll be a glorious fire with toast and tea and cakes, and perhaps we'll even break into the sardines," said Mr. Tumnus still holding his umbrella and his packages.

"I don't know,"

"Come on, it's not everyday I get to make a new friend," coaxed Mr. Tumnus which accidently convinced Hiccup, he knew how hard it was to make new friends, most of the kids he was staying with looked down on him.

"Well I suppose I could come, for a little while," smiled Hiccup relenting, before adding jokingly, "If you have sardines,"

"By the bucketload," assured Mr. Tumnus leading the way through the thick snow, towards his house embedded in the side of a hill and opening the door as Hiccup walked in, while Mr. Tumnus lingered for a minute glancing out at the snowy landscape before following suit and doing a rather funny tapping of his feet on the carpet inside the house to get the uh- snow off? Before locking the door to his house again.

The house was sort of dank made of stone and had items cluttered everywhere but had a sort of homie feeling. Hiccup sat down staring at a picture of a faun much like Mr. Tumnus, "Now that, that is my father,"

"He has a nice face, he looks alot like you," said Hiccup as he examined the portrait carefully which was lit by a single candle, as he said this Mr. Tumnus faltered, setting up the fireplace and looking down at the fire with an unreadable expression on his face.

"No, no i'm not very much like him at all, really," he said sadly.

"I know how that feels…" sympathized Hiccup realizing the problem and set down the painting, "My father is fighting in a war,"

"My father went away to war too, but that was a long, long time ago," said the Mr. Tumnus snapping out of his quiet memories and regret, and started setting things up again, "Before this dreadful winter,"

"Winter's not all bad, there's ice skating and snowball fights, oh and christmas!" said Hiccup joyfully quietly adding to himself, and when Snotlout or his buddies pushes me over I land in fluffy snow rather than mud, as he stared at the rest of the house, right now he was looking at his bookshelf containing strange books with strange names such as, "The Life and Letters of Silenus" or "Nymphs and Their Ways."

He silently chuckled at the book titled, "Is Man a Myth?'' Well he just proved it now, he wondered if his grandfather knew the powers of this wardrobe maybe he made it? He didn't understand why he wouldn't tell people though, this was an amazing discovery, he couldn't wait for when he went back home, he could tell his friends all about it!

"Not here, no no, we haven't had a christmas in a hundred years," said Mr. Tumnus setting the table.

"What? No presents for a hundred years!?" yelped Hiccup in shock and horror, that would be horrible.

"Always winter, never christmas," said Mr. Tumnus sadly, sitting down at the table to dine as Hiccup joined him, "It's been a long winter, 100 years of winter… but you would have loved Narnia in summer! We fauns danced with the dryads all night, and you know we never got tired,"

Mr. Tumnus droned on about the good ol days of Narnia, telling extravagant stories about them, such as the white stag that would give wishes whenever you caught him, or about the treasure-seeking Red Dwarves he used to play with, or about Silenus and Bacchus.

"Wait, the Bacchus?" questioned Hiccup, knowing that was the Roman name of his counterpart Dionysus, wondering if he had gone back in time to the Roman days considering he was talking to a faun.

"Yes, and he would host the most wonderful parties, and there was music, oh music, such music… would you like to hear some right now?

"Yes please," responded Hiccup drinking his tea when Mr. Tumnus pulled out his flute, "Now are you familiar with any Narnian lullabies? Good, because this… probably won't sound anything like one,"

He began playing his tune, it was strange music compared to what Hiccup was used to but he found it quite soothing all the same, and as he stared into the fire images began conjuring in it such as a horse and its rider, and Hiccup flinched back startled and looked at the faun which gave no indication of this being of the ordinary and Hiccup loosened up again, staring at the fire, which started conjuring more images, such as dancing fauns and Hiccup's eyelids began to feel heavier and heavier the more Mr. Tumnus played the song.

Soon Hiccup had fallen fast asleep, his teacup shattering on the ground as Mr. Tumnus continued to play his song with the dancing images in the fire before a lion's head appeared roaring almost in… disapproval? Startling Mr. Tumnus making it clear he did not intend for That to happen, and all the lights instantly went out surrounding the room in darkness.

Hiccup slowly wakes up again looking around at the darkness realizing how long he must have stayed, "Oh I really should go…"

"It's too late for that now," said Mr. Tumnus laying on the stairs with a distressed expression on his face, "I'm such a terrible faun…"

Hiccup looked at him in confusion walking over to him, "No, you're the nicest faun i've ever met," he said though then again it was the only faun he had ever met.

"Then I'm afraid you have had a very poor sampling," he said, still distressed with tears running down his face as he covered his face with his hands.

"You can't have done anything that bad," said Hiccup handing him a tissue to wipe his tears wondering what was going on.

"It's not something I have done, Hiccup Haddock, it's something I'm doing," he said, wiping his tears despite the fresh ones still coming out and he was struggling to keep his voice steady.

"What are you doing…" trailed off Hiccup starting to feel anxious now.

"I'm kidnapping you…" he said barely audible, "It's the White Witch, she's the one who makes it always winter, always cold. She gave orders, if any of us ever find a human wandering in the woods, w-we-we were supposed to turn it over to her,"

"But Mr. Tumnus… you wouldn't," said Hiccup recalling his father's words of stranger danger, but Mr. Tumnus had seemed so nice, "I thought you were my friend, what would have your father done?"

Mr. Tumnus raised his blearily through his tears at this.

I felt like Mr. Tumnus needed a little more motivation but if you don't like this you can just forget it ever existed, afterall it has no real bearing on the rest of the story.
