Sorry about the long interval hehe had lots of things to do, sorry again guys! Anyways, this is just a short chapter, but still quite important for the plot and there will be quite a bit of Amane and Itachi in this so hopefully you can get through this chapter without totally wanting to rip of the OC's head, or mine for creating her O_O. Anyways, enjoy~
"Itachi," Amane groaned in frustration as the stoic Uchiha before her continued to flip through the papers, ignoring her boredom.
Itachi is just too self involved sometimes.
"Itachi!" Amane grumbled, nudging him angrily.
"Hn." Itachi replied, his eyes glued on to the papers in front of him.
"I am bo-red." Amane rested her chin on his shoulder, rubbing her eyes slightly as drowsiness caught on to her.
"Humour me." She pouted.
Itachi sighed and placed the papers down, turning his face to meet hers.
She met his gaze and smiled lazily.
"Hello." She touched the tip of his nose with her finger playfully.
Itachi smiled slightly, and tucked a few stray strands of hair behind her ear.
"Hi." He replied.
"I am bored."
"So I've heard."
"Then do something interesting!"
Itachi sighed. He had no idea how childish and energetic Amane was until he got intimate with her. In the start of their relationship, things had been rocky and awkward as expected, but in time he had grown comfortable around her and had been more open minded about her feelings towards him, more accepting, more willing.
Though he wasn't actually sure what he wanted, this seemed right.
Fugaku was happy, Mikoto was shinning and Sasuke even though he didn't show it, was relieved. Though now, thanks to his discovery 2 years ago, he could help his thoughts wander from Sasuke, to Hinata.
Inwardly he groaned every time he thought of the indigo haired jounin.
Irritated by how much she lingered even after two years.
Frustrated by how much he tried to return Amane's feelings but was struck by a pang of guilt thanks to the Hyuuga heiress.
He didn't want to think of her.
He didn't want to care.
He just wanted to focus on his life now. Focus on the woman beside him, focus on making things work.
"I am afraid, the only playthings I have are the kites my father has in the back. Would that suffice?" Itachi tilted his head slightly, his face expressionless but his eyes glinting with slight amusement.
"Itachi!" She pushed him lightly, glad to see the slight smirk gracing his handsome features.
"Sorry, Amane-sama but as you can see the only entertainment we have here are the kites and tapes of Sasuke when he was a baby."
Amane giggled as she wrapped her arms around his neck and playfully nuzzled the crook of his neck.
Such a gesture would have caused him to flinch a year or months back, but by now he was used to it.
"On any other day I would have settled for the tapes,"
She kissed him lightly on the shoulder before gazing at him with hooded eyes; a look Itachi knew a little too well.
"But now I have... something much more interesting to indulge in. Don't you think?"
He stared at her with an unreadable expression; emotions hidden as always.
But at the back of his head, he knew he wasn't ready to keep satiating her clingy needs.
He'd allow her to fool around with him playfully before; stealing kisses, allowing her hands to touch and roam his body and he played along with her little game.
He allowed her... because she had the right... right?
She was his girlfriend. She was allowed to do these kinds of things whenever she wanted to.
He should enjoy those times, he should treasure those times he had with her.
And yet when things got deep...
There was always unease.
He should allow her and yet...
"Amane – "
His words were forced back by Amane's lips crashing onto his.
She backed away slightly after a few moments, their lips so close still they could feel each other's breath.
"Itachi, I love you. You know that right?" Her fingers played with the collar of his shirt; tugging and smoothing over the cloth.
"Hn." Itachi willed himself to answer like he normally would refusing to show his reluctance and broken nerves.
If there was one thing that could scare or put Itachi to the point of breaking into cold sweat, it was women.
Hundreds of highly skilled and trained assassins have wet themselves before him.
He brought fear to the bravest and strongest of hearts.
And yet here he was, defeated by a woman.
"I thought... it was enough to just do these innocent little things you know... I enjoy them, they make me feel things I haven't ever felt before in my life."
She began to grip his collar tightly, leaning in slightly, lips brushing teasingly against his taking in his warmth.
Itachi watched impassively, wondering why he had agreed to see her right after his mission.
It wasn't that he didn't like being with her. It was fun and natural, and her playful times weren't exactly unpleasant they were comfortable. But that's all they were.
Comfortable. Nothing more.
But maybe, this was how it was supposed to feel like? After all he had no point of reference. And he would get struck by lightning before he would seek out relationship advice from either of his parents.
"I say you should just get on with the ride son! Don't hold back any of that Uchiha fire!" –Fugaku would say.
"Grandchildren!" – Mikoto would chirp.
Obviously trouble.
Unfortunately in this matter, he was sailing alone.
"But Itachi... I... I –"
Her cheeks grew warm and she bit on her lip as she contemplated whether or not to advance further. She might just be pushing her luck... but she needed him to understand.
"I want you, Itachi." She said almost inaudibly.
Itachi's eyebrows furrowed.
"You... have me?"
"No, I – " By then her face had already turned scarlet.
She gulped.
"I want you... totally."
Itachi's eyes widened a fraction before quickly returning back to the careless gaze he always had on as he caught on to her words.
"Don't you... feel the same way about me?" She leaned back a little, to get a good look at his expression.
"I..."
I don't know.
"I... feel the same way." He almost coughed.
He didn't miss the way her face lit up all of a sudden before she straddled him, facing him dead on with longing and desire flashing clear in her eyes.
"Then show me, show me you want me!"
Oh dear god, why was the universe punishing him?
"I... " Itachi inhaled, steadying his breath trying to ignore the woman before him... connected to him in a very, very inappropriate manner.
"Amane, Father and Mother will be home any minute and if Sasuke sees us I'll never hear the end of it, for now I think we should – "
He was interrupted by yet another desperate kiss that clouded his mind; he just didn't know what to do. Absently he found himself leaning into the kiss; he was a man after all with urges and wants that he wasn't really proud of having, but sometimes found it hard to resist.
Amane, once satisfied, broke the kiss, breathing heavily as she looked up at him.
"Amane... let's stop."
Itachi's voice was hard and draped with command, yet the girl did not falter.
"Let's go somewhere more private Itachi." She whispered, her lips grazing his ear for effect.
Itachi wasn't sure what game she was playing, and he wasn't sure if he could win this time.
"Why are you so restless?" Neji sighed, but watched with obvious amusement as his cousin scurried from corner to corner, adjusting the tiny details of the room, looking around frantically for something to fix.
"I-It's tomorrow!" She squeaked.
"So many things aren't done... I-I am a terrible party planner!" She cried, Neji had to cover his mouth to keep his amused smirk hidden.
She fell to the ground on her knees and crossed her arms as she thought of the upcoming event. So many things to do... If only she had planned things sooner and things weren't in such disarray... and if only everything was alright with Konoha's brightest star...
She sighed solemnly and curled into a ball on the floor, closing her eyes and embracing the cold floor. Why did she always have the worst timing?
"What are you doing now?" Neji almost rolled his eyes.
"W-Wallowing in my misery."
"So melodramatic." Neji smirked as he strode towards her, kneeling down and staring at her with interest.
"Something else is bothering you isn't it?"
She shook her head and tried to bury it between her knees but Neji managed to get a firm grip on her chin and tilt her head to face him.
"Hinata-sama I already told you."
Hinata averted her eyes, not wanting to see his smug face.
"I can read you like a book. No point trying to hide anything."
Hinata sighed in defeat and began to sit up straight as Neji retracted his hand from her chin.
"I-I just can't fight with you, Neji Nii-san!"
Neji let out a light chuckle, and a small smile graced Hinata's pink lips.
"Not many can, now, what's bothering you?"
"Naruto-kun." She sighed heavily.
"Ah." Neji nodded thoughtfully, aware of the situation at hand.
"It is... quite unfortunate that things turned out this way."
"Mm." She nodded solemnly and began to bring her legs to her chest.
She hugged them and rested her chin on her knees.
"Naruto-kun is always smiling no matter what... I don't want to see him lose that part of him."
She squeezed Neji's hand before continuing.
"I... never want to see him give up."
"He won't." Neji assured almost immediately.
"Naruto is that kind of person. You should know by now Hinata-sama, nothing can stop that blonde idiot from moving forward." A light smile appeared on the Hyuuga's lips, recalling all of Naruto's endeavours, including the one during the Chunin exam.
A carefree giggle from his cousin broke him out his reverie, but his smile stayed put.
Hinata always had a way to bring out a different side of him.
"Hinata-san!" A loud, ringing voice appeared along with the screeching of skidding feet.
The two immediately recognized who it was.
"Should I blow the blue balloons, the pink ones or the multicoloured ones in this plastic?!"
Konoha's beautiful blue beast was a little too loud as always.
Neji groaned while Hinata giggled sweetly watching her cousin rub his temples.
"How about a little bit of all of them?" Hinata smiled and shrugged.
"AH! Such great ideas are as expected from the most youthful of all –"
"Lee." Neji's tone was a clear warning.
Lee flinched slightly before surrendering to his team mate's wishes and gave a nod to Hinata before leaving.
"Sometimes I wonder if he is serious or just teasing me." She giggled.
"Hn. He might seem a little off, but he means what he says,"
"I... am really grateful he decided to lend us a helping hand."
"It's a part of his 'nice guy' code." Neji chuckled.
Neji got up and headed for the door.
"Sorry for distracting you from your frenzy, I'll go help out Lee with the balloons."
"But, Nii-san I thought you didn't like balloons." Hinata tilted her head, staring at him with furrowed brows.
"To stop your worrying, I'll just have to do what I can." He shrugged.
As expected his meek cousin flashed him shy smile, her cheeks dusted with pink.
"T-Thank you."
He shook his head, walking towards the door once again before he stopped in his tracks when the heiress called out to him.
"A- Ano! Nii-san!"
"Hm?"
"Maybe you could ask Hanabi-chan to help Lee-san out?"
She smiled, a little slyly, trying her best to hide her secret intentions from her analytical cousin.
"So you can help me out here." She said cheerfully.
Neji quirked a brow.
"Itachi, you have such beautiful hair." She smiled as she ran her fingers through his soft locks, sighing into his bare chest.
"Hn." Itachi closed his eyes, thankful he had been able to avoid the inevitable.
They had been moving fast, stumbling on to bed, Amane hastily trying to pull his shirt over his head while trying to keep her lips locked to his.
Thankfully though, rationality struck her as her hands trailed down his bare abdomen.
He wasn't sure if it was realization had hit her, or if she had seen the uncertain look in his eyes, or maybe much like himself, Amane wasn't sure what she was after.
Instead, of letting her hands advance in their adventures, she sighed and rested her weight on him with her head lying on his chest.
Her fingers stopped intertwining with his dark brown strands, and immediately he felt panic rise. She gazed at him with her dark onyx eyes, conveying more emotion than an Uchiha should; Hope, longing, possessiveness and desire.
Her eyes were locked on to his, her lips parting.
Was she going to continue where she left off?
Would he let her?
Would he want her to?
What did he want?
After what seemed like ages, her parted lips finally uttered words.
Words that made his world fall apart around him.
Words that made Uchiha Itachi, one of the most feared shinobi of his time, shiver.
"Itachi – marry me."
JENGRENGEJENG~ Don't hate me too much yo!
