Summary: Kushina died during the Sealing of Kurama. She figured that she would be in the pure lands and wait for her son as she knew that Minato would never be allowed in the pure-lands for using the Reapr Death Seal. Only Kushina didn't go to the Pure Lands. She was stuck in the land of Mortals tethered to Naruto, never allowed to be more then five miles from him, protecting him.

Prelude to Rebirth/Reincarnation

Time: 1010 October 10th, 315 ASSP

The Beautiful young woman looked down as several people converged on the spot that had just seen her die. The formerly 24 year old 'most beautiful kunoichi' in all of Konoha, was a fair-skinned and slender woman of feminine tone build with large D-cup breasts, violet eyes, and the common Uzumaki red hair. Her hair was straight and reached her ankles, with shoulder-length strands that framed both sides of her face and a black clip that parts her hair to the left. Currently she was naked as the day she was born, for souls honestly didn't really need cloths

Uzumaki Kushina was dead. Or at least the clinical definition of dead. Her mortal body was no longer functioning. Her heard no longer worked, her brain was nothing, and her eyes glassy, her stomach with a massive hole in it from the claw that had impaled her stomach and had been the fatal wound that had sent her to the afterlife.

Or rather what was suppose to be the afterlife. She made her peace, accepted that she was going to die, and was ready to move on... or rather that's what she told herself. In truth there was much rage, and hate and resentment in her heart.

Rage at her husband for trying to seal Kurama inside of their... her child instead of her and allowing her to take Kurama with her to the gave. Kushina would have easily been able to take Kurama to the other side where no one would be able to get him. Minato had chosen the village other their child and she would NEVER forgive him for that. Even if he begged for her forgiveness... if she ever saw him again.

Hate for the village. When she had first come to Konoha she had been treated as an outsider would have. Despite the fact that she was the Heiress to the last remnants of Edding Tides, an allied nation, an allied village that had kept Mizu off of Konoha's waterfront for most of the war. But when they needed help to defeat the invading forces of Mizu Kumo, and a third Mercenary force they had been left to die. Dispute that she proved to be a loyal Konoichi for years, she even married the Prodigy Namikaze Minato dispute several women, including Haruno Mebuki.-A courtesan from a gaisha clan- threatening violence if she did. Considering that Mebuki was closer to a civilian then a Genin level Kunoichi who throw herself at whatever powerful man would have her for the evening, Kushina wasn't worried in the least. Her hate for Konoha ran almost as deep as her love for her son.

Resentment for the fact that she would never be able to raise her son to become the man that she knew he could be. He would forever be just another person the village used and discarded. Just like they had done Koto Dan, Senju Nawaki, Hatake Sakumo, and many other names that had been lost though the years. She feard her son would just die.

This was probably the reason why a red chain currently linked her to her son. She didn't know if this had something to do with the seal or if this had something to do with the Uzumaki heritage, but if she got to stay with her son... then she would gladly do so.

Time: June 15th year 330 ASSP

The last 15 years... had not been kind as Kushina predicted. The status of Naruto's Parentage had been deterend to be an S-class secret alongside the fact that he was actually the jailer of Kurama with only the Hokage's Council, Hokage, and Hatake Kakashi in the know. Kakashi had petitioned for custody of Naruto several times, but was denied at all times by the old Monkey Sarutobi for reasons unknown. SO Naruto was placed inside of an Ophengage with a monthly stipend that was going directly to him instead of the orphanage During Naruto's formative years he had been raised in an orphanage.

Sometime during his 5th year of life the information had leaked and that was when all hell broke loose. People started to ignore Naruto, they started to charge him double for products and items that were not suppose to be that much. The only reason they didn't sell him items that were rotten or out of date was due to his own personal guardian angels named Mitirishi Anko, Ichiraku Ayame and Uzuki Yuago.

Ayame was an apprentice Raman chef and a Genin ranked Kunoichi cook. She was kind and often looked out for Naruto when it came to food. She would even go out of her way to come to his house and make him a nice home cooked meal. At the age of 20 she stood at 5'2" and slender girl with C-cup with long, dark brown hair and large black eyes, plus fair skin. She wears a white robe with the sleeves folded, a sort of dark blue apron with ribbon ties at the top and a bright white bandanna She was a nice girl. It made it especially hard for Kushina when she had seen Naruto at the age of 12 beating his Monster sized meat to his 'best friend with ass for days' Oh when Kushina had seen that. If she could get horny!

Anko was a Special Jonin that had a life much like the rest of the village. As the adopted daughter/Apprentice of Orochimaru she saw things and did things in the name of her teacher that would have seen others brought before the Hokage and killed. There was even a period of time that she along with 20 others were marked as Missing Ninja all under the command of Orochimaru. Anko called this the 'Blank period' of her life because she couldn't remember any of it. Flashes here and there. Groans and pants, a feeling of disgust, and intense pain on a seal that was in the junction between her neck and shoulder. A curse seal. Other then that Anko was a more... violent version of Naruto. She had a reputation in the village. She would sleep with any man who took her fancy married or otherwise. Although with her looks it wasn't hard to see why. A busty beauty athletic tone to her body frame, light brown, pupil-less eyes, her purple hair was styled in a short, spiky, fanned-out ponytail with spiked bangs hanging in the front of her head and down in front of her headband, a custom-made outfit that is crafted of thin metal mesh to fit the lines of her body, that covers her from neck to thigh. Strangely enough most people assumed that if you looked at Anko just right you could see her nipples poking though the mesh, truth was that it was nearly impossible to see though the dark mesh, no matter how hard you tried. Over this, she typically wears a tan overcoat with a purple in-seam and a pocket on each side, a dark orange mini-skirt, a dark blue belt, and pale gray shin guards, she also wears a small pendant that looks like a snake fang. standing at 5'4" with DD-cup breasts Although there were times she looked at Naruto with Longing eyes. Something Kushina did NOT LIKE! Anko was 8 years older then her son.

Uzuki Yugao had become something of a... Mother to Naruto after he had been kicked out of the academy. While he did'nt live with her, but she did teach him life lessons, how to use a kunai, the basics of swordsmenship Kushina was rather perturbed by this, but she couldn't do anything but watch. a young woman with straight, purple hair reaching down to her waist, warm brown eyes, and a shade of red lipstick. When Kushina saw her, she normally wore the navy blue long sleeve shirt and skin tight pants that most female Jonin wore. When she did appear before Naruto she normally had two practice swords with her.

She had watched his academy years. How his teachers hated and ignored him. How they belittled him. Even the one named Umino Iruka, while fair and would take Naruto to get raman, it seemed a token gesture to her. She saw how him get his first crush on a pink haired girl named Haruno Sakura. She sighed in annoyance. She knew that it had to do with the Uzumaki bloodline seeking someone close to them for a partner. And because her hair was Pink- a more terrible version of red- it was the best he was going to get.

She had watched as he failed the Genin exam three times. How he had been tricked by that idiot Mizuki and stole the forbidden scroll and learned the Shadow Clone Jutsu and the the Exploding clone Jutsu. She watched in a mix of awe and fear as her baby fought Mizuki with an intense will to protect Iruka. A spirit born of Uzumaki if she ever saw one.

She saw how he got along with his team. Team 7. Uchiha Mikoto's brat and her godson Sasuke, The Haruno girl. Mebiki's kid if she ever saw her, only with Pink hair. Most likely inherited from Mebiki's husband And Kakashi, her little brother was her son's sensei!? Was this the old monkey trying to be funny? No it couldn't be Sarutobi didn't have a sense of humor. She watched as they put up a good fight and even managed to earn Kakashi's respect.

The next two months after that were... D-ranked Missions and for some DAMN REASON THAT CAT FROM HELL TORA WAS STILL ALIVE! Focus Kushina. Oh yeah where was she. Oh right missions. The team was given it's first C-ranked mission turned A-ranked with the inclusion of Momochi Zabuza. Someone who was as skilled and powerful as Kakashi. That wasn't important. It was on this mission where Naruto experienced the hardships of Shinobi when he made two mistakes.

One he revealed himself to the enemy and he fell in love with her. Momochi Haku, Zabuza's apprentice. Kushina watched as they got close, how they flirted, how she touched him and even showed him useful skills when it came to plants and needles. Naruto fought her on the bridge and watched as Kakashi killed her, before Kakashi, Zabuza, and Naruto went on a rampage killing the mercenaries on the bridge. Zabuza died shortly after due to wounds. Upon completing the mission Naruto took Zabuza's sword as his own and Haku's mask. Although Kushina had only ever seen Naruto practice with the massive blade with Yugao in secret.

Four months would pass before the next significant event would occur, the Chunin exams. Kushina ignored the red haired brat and his blonde bimbo sister in favor of keeping her mind on the exams themselves. The first task was easy as her son passed with the flair of the Red haired Habanaro herself! The second task saw them take on Orochimaru on the first day and this was the seond time that Kushina had feared for her son's life. Orochimaru fought and beat the shit out of team 7 before leaving after biting Sasuke on the neck and sealing off Kurama's chakra from Naruto. Kushina lost focus as she was using all her focus to make sure that the seal had not been compromised by Orochimaru's foolishness.

Following this Naruto and his team all wounded from battle decided to take time for themselves and heal. This was where things got interesting for Kushina. A red chain appeared and seemed to jet off several miles away from Naruto.

For the first time in 15 years another chain had appeared. It lead away from where Naruto and his team were camping, They would be recovering for the next day or so and it's not like Naruto couldn't handle himself. What was the harm in going and checking it out.

Location: Konoha

Place: Training ground 44- The Forest of Death-

Time: 1500, June year 330 ASSP

Uzumaki Karin looked up in horror as the bear. The 16 year old young woman even in her terror was quite beautiful, if a little rough around the edges. Crimson eyes, the Uzumaki crimson red hair that she liked to wear it short and spiky on the right side, while longer and straight on the left side Standing at 5'3" with a slim build, large B-small C-cup breasts, while not the most busty she made up for it with her long legs, wide hips, and large ass that she excavated with her clothes, lavender long sleeve zipdown jacket that was zipped just above her naval, short black shorts, and long black thigh high stockings with black sandals, a thick gray blet that had a medical bag attached to it and black rimmed glasses, although currently she wasn't at her best. She was knocking on the Shinigami's door.

She and her team had come on a specific mission. Acquire information the Hidden Leaf Village available defenders and key placements of facilities. The village Hidden in the Grass was actually part of a larger alliance of small Villages under the Control of Orochimaru-sama, the Snake Sannin and greatest Traitor to the Hidden Leaf village, as well as the man who saved her life. While Orochimaru knew the genreal layoutand why things were in the village he had been a defecter for almost 12 years and surly things had changed She and her team had passed the first exam with flying colors. But within a day of the second exam they had basically been slaughtered by the beasts that inhabited the forest. During a moment in time to gather She had been separated from her teammates when they had been attacked by a group from The Hidden sand Village.

At this point she accepted her death she closed her eyes and began to pray. She knew that she had failed her personal mission. She wanted to find a male Uzumaki and revive her clan The dream she shared with her cousin. Sure She had found her cousin-distently related by blood tests by about 9 generations- Uzumaki Tayuya. Despite being occsaunal lovers Karin knew that she was dead and would leave Tayuya alone in thsi crual world. (1)

"I'm Sorry Tayuya. You have to fulfill our dream," thought Karin as she allowed her mind to fade away. A failsafe that she had Orochimaru put on her if she was ever in danger of dying or... Kami forbid be raped again. (2)

"Damn right you are you stupid bitch! Uzumaki Don't Quit! Uzumaki don't give into fate!" yelled Kushina as she flew at the girl who she was connected to.

The Shinigami looked at the duo before him. Honestly this was not a situation that he was familiar with. ANd the SHinigami had seen several situations in his eternity. The Shinigami had a contract with the Uzumaki Clan. A contract that was as old and ancient as those who used Chakra. Granted it was not a being of chakra, it was a being of nature of balance. He was the avatar of death itself. All things died. The plants, the oceans, even the planet. It would all become a husk someday, but that would not be for Eons yet.

No he was summoned here because of two souls. One on the verge of death and one that had refused to leave to the pure-lands when it was her time because of lingering attachments. He knew of those like Kakuzu the heart theif, Hiden the Jashin cultist and Orochimaru the body jumper, and evne even that THING that had all eluded him for years and hidden even from his eyes. Cheated him time and time again.

But then again an opportunity.

One that they didn't need to know about. Placing his hand out he summoned both the orbs too him. He couldn't outright get rid of them. No that was not something he could do even interfereing as he was could have repercussions, but an oppetunity he saw never the less.

"Uzumaki Kushina kept in this plain by a need to watch a son you could never interact with, Uzukamki Karin, lead astray from the values by an enemy of mine, but wanting something that was taken from you many moons ago. A family. Even as your personality fades away your thoughts and regrets remain Alone you are both broken and nothing. Together... the things you will do," said the Shinigami as he slammed the two souls back into the body of Karin... No no longer her body as Karin was technically dead.

Uzumaki Kushina/Karin's eyes shot open as she gasped her first breath of her new life. She rolled over and began to hyperventilate, and try and keep her screams of pain to herself. Memories mixed and mingled. Two childhoods. One growing up in the lap of luxury and praise until the fall of Edding tides, the other in proverty and of flames. Memories of going though training to be a kunoichi in the hidden leaf village, memories of men violating her as others watched in the flames of the burning village screams leaving her mouth for her mother, Memories of getting captured by Kumo and getting rescued by Namikaze Minato, Memories of getting taken to underground slave auction and getting saved by a pale skinned man who had use for her unique skills.

Mix, Mingle, Shaken, rattled, fused. Kushina and Karin, both yet neither. Karin was weak! Kushina was strong! Karin was dead, save for a few memories, Kushina ruled this body that had been hurt.

Uzumaki Kushina lived. She rose to her feet and looked at the bear that was about to kill her and jumped away from it. As the bear crashed down Kushina landed a few feet away in a tree, before she stomped on the branch making several leaves fall. She ran though hand signs.

"Konoha Skill: Leaf Shuriken barrage!" yelled Kushina.

The leaves stopped in midair, before they shot at the bear and impaled his skull. The bear fell over dead as Kushina flexed her hand. After 15 years she was inside of a real body again, but... a lot of things didn't make sense at the moment.

How was she alive inside a new body, why was she given this second chance, what would she dow with the information Karin left her and most impotently... How was she going to make Naruto hers, after all she wasn't his mother anymore.

1: Okay i know that some people hate when Tayuya is an Uzumaki, but she fits the build and i'm gonna do what I feel makes the story better.

2: Okay now on to contravisal point 2. They live in a world where anything can happen from inhuman experiments to people BECOMING GODS. to this day we still don't know what happened to The Land of Edding tides. Be it an attack or a natural desastier.
