The Peverell Triplets
-TPT: Chapter 2-
When Ignotus woke up, he immediately stifled his gasp of pain. He remembered, vaguely, what had lead him to Death's realm. Sighing he sat up, only for the door to open, making him squint at the dim light. "Still alive I see." Petunia sneered, but Ignotus could see the briefest flicker of relief in her eyes. "Out. I want you to get upstairs and get yourself cleaned up." she told him. Ignotus gave a soft 'Yes ma'am.' and quickly did as he was told. The silence in the house confirmed that Vernon and Dudley were gone. He didn't want to push Petunia Dursley's generosity and was quick with the shower he was allowed. Once he was back downstairs, he saw the woman waiting for him, a small gray bag at her feet. "I won't have you here anymore, boy. You're leaving." she told him firmly. Ignotus knew this was coming and merely nodded his acceptance. Her eyes softened at that slightly before she gently grabbed his shoulder and lead him out of Number 4 Privet Drive.
Sister Marie's orphanage was a large, dull colored building on the outskirts of London. Ignotus didn't bother to take it in too much, knowing that him and his brothers wouldn't be there for too long. He merely waved good bye to the woman who had given him a home- even if it wasn't a happy one- for the past two years. He would always be thankful for that. Already, she had done more for him than his own birth family had.

Cadmus woke up with a groan, instantly smelling disinfectants and chemicals. He knew he was in a clinic once he saw the room around him. "You're awake! Thank goodness." A relieved and cheerful voice said. He looked up to see an older woman in a lab coat. "I'm Doctor Helen." she told him, coming into his small room. "How are you feeling?" she asked him. Cadmus stayed silent for a moment.
"I've been better." he settled on eventually. "Where am I?"
"You're in Little Ones Clinic, on the outskirts of London. You were found injured and malnourished on the door step of Sister Marie's Orphanage this morning with another child. Neither of you would wake up, and you were being monitored here since this morning." She explained.
"Is he okay?" Cadmus asked, knowing it was his older brother somehow. And wasn't that thought a strange but wonderful one? Her eyes softened.
"Yes, he should be waking up any minute now. I take it he's your brother?" she asked. Cadmus nodded. "That's good. At least you two have each other. Another child arrived today at Sister Marie's as well. Poor thing was left by his aunt- or, I believe it was his aunt. One of the caretakers say they saw a woman drop him off and leave." she told him, though she wasn't sure why.
"Iggy's here?" a new voice asked. The duo turned around to see another boy.
"Iggy?" Dr. Helen asked in concern.
"He's our baby brother. We were separated three years ago." Cadmus explained, relief filling him. Both of them were there now. The three of them were back together. Like it was supposed to be.
"I see. He wasn't in very good condition. Malnourished, bruised, and his back and legs have some scars. He's resting in his own room. I'm sure he would love to see you two again." she told them. "Once you have gotten your last check ups, I'll take you to him." she told them. The duo nodded and it wasn't long before she was done. All three were malnourished and too small for ten year old boys. And while the oldest- Antioch, such a strange name- had the least amount of bruises, he still had scars that showed a bad past. Cadmus wasn't much better, having a rather large scar along his back and a few on his arms. Ignotus, the youngest, was not better off either. He had several scars and she had counted his ribs when she had first checked on him. He insisted that the woman was someone who had just found him and taken him to the orphanage to be taken care of. He obviously wanted nothing to do with her or what had happened before. And after getting their names, she discovered that they weren't in their system. She hoped they wouldn't be separated in the orphanage.
Once done, she took the older boys to the room the youngest was in. She smiled when she saw the small boy's face light up with joy and relief at the sight of the other two. Despite the obvious signs of abuse, she couldn't help but notice they were beautiful children. The trio were not identical triplets, but almost. The oldest had such dark brown hair it could almost be mistaken as black, a color the younger two shared. However, the oldest and youngest shared similar eyes colors. The oldest had dark forest green eyes and the youngest's own eyes were more of a bright jade. The middle child had eyes that were a dark gray, though they had some hints of bluish-green when hit by the right lighting. All three were pale, though only time would tell if it was genetic or a result of not being out side for long periods of time. She didn't know of the other differences the children had noticed with each other. Like how Cadmus's nose wasn't as prominent, their ears were slightly pointier than they had been before, and the slightest reshaping of their faces that gave just enough of a difference from their past childhood selves- but still recognized them to each other. She also didn't know that before the week was up, she and everyone at the orphanage wouldn't even remembered that these three boys had ever been there.

Three dark haired boys made their way through Gringotts hall, following a goblin guard, who lead them to the teller at a higher podium at the end of the hall. "Honored guests of King Ragnok." their guard told the teller. The goblin's eyes widened and he quickly closed his line, much to some furious witches and wizard's disbelief.
"Right this way." their new guide told them. The three boys bowed their thanks to the guard, before following their new guide into a large and beautiful office. "Our king will be right with you." he informed them.
"Thank you." they replied, giving a bow of thanks. The goblin left the trio behind to return to his post. Their nation had been waiting for the Peverell triplets to arrive for a week. They didn't know the full story that their king did, but all of the goblins were excited for the Peverell family to take their place in the world once more. The Peverell vaults had been locked down after the last brother's death a little over a century ago, during their second carnation. Not even family descendants like the Gaunt, Prince, and Potter lines had been deemed worthy to unlock those vaults by the family magics. The goblin nation held the Peverell family in high esteem, being the only few that knew the truth of the Peverell story. The brothers had been friends to the nation and had always treated the goblins with respect and admiration in both of their past carnations- and it was obvious that was continuing with this one. Their nation couldn't wait for the Peverell Triplets to make their way in the world once more. And they would help where they could. That was certain.
The Peverell triplets waited for the King of the Goblin Nation as asked, and it wasn't more than a minute before he arrived. "Thank you for coming. I apologize for the wait." Ragnok told his esteemed guests.
"It's fine. We didn't wait for long." Antioch assured the goblin.
"And yet, there is much to do." Ragnok smiled softly. "First, I'll have you take a blood test. It'll give us the base for the changes made." he told them as three different parchments rolled out on the table, a beautiful black dagger next to them. The trio took turns slicing their palms and dripping blood on the parchments.

"Hmm...this is much better than I was expecting." Ragnok told them relieved.
"How so?" Ignotus asked curiously.
"Well, Lady La fey and her muggleborn husband were well received by the Goblin Nation. They were respectful to us and held shares in many different endeavors that resulted in a great flow of gold. In fact some of those same investments are still running well and continuing the flow: Honey Dukes, Madam Malkin's, and Ollivanders. This isn't including the few muggle shares they hold. Or the endeavors they would want to work towards now that need a little help." Ragnok said, handing a stack of papers to Ignotus when he asked. "The next perk is this: They were the only ones of their immediate families left, which means no one to contest your places within the family. Their only family would have been Severus Prince and he was very distantly related, and now deceased in the records. Not that your placement would have been a problem anyways." Ragnok told them.
"How come?" Cadmus asked.
"They were firmly neutral and hermits. They were rarely, if ever seen. And they kept their true power and their connections close to their chests. Which meant they were left alone with almost no one willing to check on them or befriend them. Due to this, no one knows they even passed a decade ago due to health reasons." Ragnok explained. When he saw Ignotus's look of sorrow and apprehension at using the dead couple to cover their return, the King couldn't help his softening look. "Worry not, Youngest Heir. They were aware of their connection to your family through Lady La Fey's side. It is stated specifically in their will that all of their fortune and assets were to be kept safe until the heir or heirs of the Peverell line could reclaim it. Their only request was that the heirs do their best to help the magical world and do what was best for it. Which you three are set to do once everything has been taken care of." he told the boy.
"So we have an origin that no one can refute, which can also be confirmed with a blood test." Antioch said. Ragnok nodded.
"Indeed. In addition, you've activated their family vaults which were turning stagnant after their deaths with no one to keep them operated. So you will be set with funding, for the work ahead of you."
"What I'm finding interesting is the Line Head segment. What does that entail? And how are the Potters going to be affected?" Cadmus asked, having an idea and feeling vindictiveness begin to build. Ragnok's sharp grin told them it was nothing good- for the Potters at least.
"Now this is a bit of interesting information. The Potter, Prince, and Gaunt lines all come from the Peverell Line. The fun thing about this, is that the Peverell Lords and Heirs are only claimable through Death and Magic- which means none of the members of those three lines could touch the Ancient house or access it's laws and rules. What the Potters are unaware of is a clause in their family laws that trace back to the Peverell Laws."
"And what exactly is this clause?" Antioch asked with a sly grin.
"It states that if an heir or heirs to the Peverell line are born, the Potter Head answers to them once the Peverell heirs have claimed their inheritance, which is happening today. This gives you control over the family financial situation and allows you to place in rules and regulations- if the Potter line financial situation proves a risk to the rest of the lines that are Peverell by right. Which it currently is."
"How is the Potter finances a risk to the rest of the vaults?" Ignotus asked is confusion. Last he had checked two years ago, Potter was one of the wealthiest families in the light orientation.
"The Potters are rather...extravagant with their spending." Ragnok explained. "As it stands, the Potter main vault is nearly empty. Neither the Lord or Lady work currently, living an easy life with training their son and working to aid Albus Dumbledore's order in preparation for the return of Voldemort. I do know, however, that the Potters will be working once their son Matthew enters Hogwarts next year. Lily Potter has been offered a place as Muggle-Studies teacher. And James Potter will be returning to work as an auror. Until then though, they are at risk of going over the Potter vaults and working their way through the rest long before the next year arrives." Ragnok explained. "It doesn't help that the Potters haven't kept up to date on the stocks and shares they hold, causing them to be unaware of just how many of their ventures are going under."
"I see." Ignotus said. "I would like to see a list of all ventures the Potter family currently possess. As for the La Fey and Peverell assets, I can see you have them well in hand and ask that you move as you see fit with the current share placements. As for these endeavors they would like to move towards, but cannot due to their passing, I request that you move to do so. I have seen that Goblins know best when it comes to money, and I will trust your judgment." Ignotus told the goblin king as he returned the papers that detailed the gold movement for those two families- if he had learned one thing in the Dursley household, it was finances and stocks. Ragnok was both stunned and honored by the request and found himself liking the youngest even more. "As for the shares and assets of their own lines, Anti and Cad will need to decide themselves what they want to have happen with them." he added, accepting the papers Ragnok had summoned.
"I also know that goblins know best when it comes to gold and its accumulation. I request that you take control of the Gaunt line and do as you see fit, though I would like to keep my own assets going towards education and the betterment of situations for creatures that are currently being discriminated against. Maybe one day, this line can reclaim its honor and do more good than harm while we're at it." Antioch said with a heavy sigh. "I do apologize for the work that lays ahead of you though, King Ragnok. The Gaunt family pushed their line to the ground. It will not be easy to fix."
"I know that the Prince line has shares and assets within herbology and potion circles. I know I had planned to place the responsibility in the hands of your people before the war back in my last life. It was too busy to do so without raising the wrong suspicion. So I'll do so now. I know you'll do what's best." Cadmus finished for the family. Ragnok could not believe it. This was an honor and he intended to see to it himself that these lines were taken care of.
"You three have truly honored me and my people." Ragnok finally spoke. "A very select few would allow us to move as we dictated."
"It only makes sense, considering your talents with gold. It's the wizarding populace's fault that they're idiots." Antioch said, making them all chuckle.
"Dear Merlin, the Potters should have left instructions for you to deal with this. Who spends 10,000 galleons on a bloody broom for a nine year old? And seriously...that much for clothes?" Ignotus took a deep breath to calm himself. "The amount they spent on Matthew since he was two is ridiculous." he sighed.
"Did they not spend anything on you?" Ragnok asked in concern.
"Why would they, I wasn't the famous one. I had maybe three outfits and ate three times a day and that was only thanks to Sev at the time. He was the one that bought my books for learning since I didn't have full access to the library. He made sure I ate and took care of making any potions I would need when I got sick. I got presents on birthdays and holidays from him and him alone. During the two or three months I was still with them after Albus sent Sev away, I ate twice a day and got nothing since. Then there was the Dursleys, but I'd rather not discuss them." Ignotus shrugged.
"I feel like I want to cause them a great deal of harm." Cadmus and Antioch growled savagely at the thought of the Potters.
"We'll out do Matthew in Hogwarts and limit their finances for now." Ignotus shrugged before turning to Ragnok who was ready to note down the upcoming changes. "The Potters will not be allowed to access any vaults besides the main vault and Matthew's trust vault for their everyday lives. I will allow 300 galleons to be put into the main vault starting at the beginning of next month as an allowance. After all, I don't want them knowing the power we have over them until the beginning of the year so we can get our selves settled. Next summer right before Hogwarts, when they finally start working again would be more ideal. But I would like to protect some of our finances from this frivolous spending. The secondary vault that they draw from for actual emergencies will have a limit of 1000 galleons on it. If they try to go over that, they will be denied and need my express permission as Anti and Cad will deny them out of pure spite. There will be a 500 galleons put into it every two months as an allowance starting now. "
"However, all Potter family heirlooms within any of these vaults are to be removed and placed into another Potter vault they will not have access too. And they are forbidden from giving Potter Family money they did not earn themselves or Potter family heirlooms to Albus and his order. Should they begin working again, their money is to go into a separate vault and they may give the order money from that vault only, should they desire. Any free access Albus has to the Potter vaults outside the three current vaults mentioned above- as well as whatever access he may have to any of our vaults- is rescinded and if he has removed or been given any items, they are to be returned within three months. However, should that time pass and it is not done, a discreet reminder is in order. Should he still not return them within a month after that, then we shall retrieve it ourselves." Ragnok noticed the slight, savage edge to the word discreet and decided that he was allowed to take that as he pleased and have some fun. Ignotus's knowing grin only confirmed it.
"It will be done as you wish Youngest Heir." Ragnok assured the boy, internally amused by the pouts of Ignotus's older brothers.
"You have gone far too easy on them Iggy." Antioch sighed.
"No, I just have the desire to keep them in the dark about our power over them until it's too late." Ignotus replied with an innocent smile.
"I believe that is the finances taken care of. The next order of business is to have you choose a place to live, accept your rings, discuss guardians, and finally, the bond you three now share." Ragnok told them, and they went back to work. "The rings are here." Three rings, each possessing the Deathly Hallows symbol embedded into the settings with two different stones. "They declare you the heirs to the Peverell line and your brotherly carnation." he indicated the line on Antioch's ring which was made of diamond, rather than the dark onyx of the circle and triangle. Cadmus's circle was diamond and Ignotus's the triangle. "Once you reach 15, you will be able to take over as heir to your other lines." Ragnok informed them, watching as the rings were placed and resized, accepting their new masters. "This is a list of properties available to you as the Peverell heirs. You need only to choose one and you can visit the others as you wish." Cadmus nodded and kept the paper with the list. "I will give you a portkey before you leave that will take you to which ever properties you desire."
"Thank you King Ragnok. This is an immense help to us." Antioch told him.
"It is our pleasure, Heir Antioch." Ragnok smiled. "The next order of business is your guardian situation. The Goblin Nation would be honored to have you as our charges until Heir Antioch reaches the age of 15 and can take over as your family head and adopt you two." That surprised the triplets. For the King himself to wish for a wizard- let alone three- to be taken in as charges of his nation...that was unheard of. That honor was rare.
"King Ragnok surely-" Ignotus began, worried for him. The wizarding populace would throw a fit upon discovering the wizard hating race taking in three of them. Much less three from such a powerful family.
"Youngest Heir, you three have honored our nation and have only been respectful of your interactions with us. You have many hardships ahead of you and have reactivated houses that were most revered and missed. We would be honored to have you three as our charges." Ragnok assured the boy.
"Then, we accept this honor, Goblin King Ragnok." Antioch accepted for him and his siblings.
"I'm honored." Ragnok told them and three beautiful gold rings appeared, each with a beautiful cut of black tourmaline in the shape of the Goblin Nation's crest. "Proof to others of your place in our nation. To make things easier for your guardianship, one of our most trusted brethren- Filius Flitwick- happens to be a teacher in Hogwarts, as you're aware. He is firmly neutral and only cares about the safety of his students and the diligence of learning. He is a master duelist, occulmens, and has more power within the school as a teacher and emissary of the Goblin Nation than even Albus Dumbledore understands. He would be you guardian during your time in school. He would know of your situation and be your eyes and ears within the staff of Hogwarts." Ragnok explained. And surprisingly, the brothers found themselves okay with that. So, they nodded.
"That leaves the bond left to discuss, right?" Ignotus asked. Ragnok nodded.
"Indeed. The bond is much like the bond between twins, only stronger and much more powerful. You can feel the others presence, conditions, and magic. Even their true feelings if you practice enough. You'll be able to speak mentally with each other- though that comes with the cost of a headache the farther you are from each other. You'll know if one of you is lying. You'll also be able to extend your magic to locate each other if you're lost. You share certain gifts, such as parseltongue. The biggest thing about this bond though, is your ability to transfer some of your magic over to each other when one or two of you are magically exhausted. This is something I warn against however, for a while. As it stands, when you returned, you cores shrank to their proper sizes. The sizes they would have been had your cores not been tampered with in the first place. And while that means they're larger than they were at this age originally for the two of you, it can still drain you and lead to magical exhaustion if you try for anything too powerful or too far above your current ability to handle. In addition, due to your connection to Voldemort, despite no longer being his horcrux, you three will still get a sense of danger should you wind up in his vicinity. A precaution to give you an edge in your battle against him. Any questions?" he asked.
The trio shook their heads. "Very well. You need only contact me if any problems arise. This is a bank card, working similar to a muggle credit card. It is keyed in to the main Peverell vault. I will send a message to brother Filius and a meeting will be made. You may tell him as little or much as you wish to for now." Ragnok assured them.
"Thank you King Ragnok, for all of your help. Please contact us if you need any thing or have questions for us as well." Antioch told the goblin who had been such help. The trio bowed to the king before he showed them out of the bank himself, much to the shock of the wizardly patrons. With one last bow to the king, the triplets departed down Diagon Alley, truly free to begin what they needed to do.
