Hey, Riss.
Yep, the construction on the building is finished. I've only been here a few weeks, but I've learned construction is shockingly fast in Danville. Buildings go up in a matter of hours, or disappear just as fast. It's a little disconcerting. Hard to find my way around by landmarks, anyway.
Danville is a weird place. At least three of my co-workers were freaking out about the disappearance of their lawn gnomes today. Something about needing to protect their gardens from wood trolls...some kind of family tradition, I think?
Most of them were just talking about this cool beach party that happened over their lunch break, though, so I guess there's some really fun stuff happening, too.
What made today really weird, though, was a random lawn gnome sitting in the elevator. I probably should have snapped a photo and shared it on the work groupchat to see if it belonged to anybody at work? I just ignored it.
I'd love for you to stop by next month! Maybe you can experience some of the weirdness for yourself. If we're lucky, we'll stumble into the cool beach parties.
Mollie
Hello Marissa Jane!
I have this crazy song stuck in my head. I really liked it when I first heard it, but it's been playing everywhere all day, and now it just sounds like elevator music. Gitchee Gitchee goo means I love you! SO annoying!
Also, I swear I saw a platypus wearing glasses entering the building this morning when I was leaving for work. (Yes, I've scheduled my eye exam.)
Work's going well. I'm almost done with training, so I'll get to go represent the company at public events in the Tri-State area soon. Tomorrow I'm going to go with my boss to the Swamp Oil 500. I'm excited!
Your BFF,
Molly Anne 3
Hi, Rissa,
Um...it's hard to explain. I guess from a work perspective, the Swamp Oil 500 went great. Ads were in place, things went well, and our sponsorship message went off without a hitch. It was a great race...at first. Then there were a series of accidents, and things got super chaotic for a while. Nobody was hurt, though, which is good, because one of the pit crews was a troop of Fireside Girls. There were a surprising number of kids involved with the race. Must be a tri-state area thing, I guess!
(Which reminds me, I should volunteer as a Fireside Girls troop mentor one of these days. It will feel good to get involved with Fireside again!)
Oh, and one of the other sponsors was "Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated". It had a blimp, weirdly enough! I asked my boss if it made us look bad to be advertising along with a company that advertises itself as evil, but he said it didn't matter and gave me a weird look.
Anyway, hope you're doing well.
Moll.
