Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail

AN: I was sort of inspired by the Changeling episode. Will update Dream Walkers soon. If you have any ideas, or something you want to see between Laxus and Alexei, let me know in the comments.

"Gwampa! Who dis?" Alexei scurried to his grandfather's side, waving a photo in the air with one hand and holding a book with another. His grandfather took him to the guild library and told him to choose a book. As he was flipping through the pages of different books, hoping to find a book with pictures, he found a book only filled with just pictures. The people in the photo looked to be the same age and same size as him. Alexei didn't know that there were more babies around his age around the guild. Who were these babies and where were they? They were small in size, like he was. There was something familiar about them, but he couldn't put a baby finger on it.

"Let me take a closer look at that." Makarov grabbed the picture from Alexei and put on his reading glasses to get a clearer look. "Ohohoho. I remember this picture." A faint nostalgic smile appeared on his face. "It was when Happy was born!" Makarov remembered that day. Everyone thought that Natsu found a dragon egg.

"Baby cat?" Alexei knew that Happy was a cat. He didn't know that cats came from eggs. Is that where all babies come from? His grandfather still didn't answer his question. "Who dis?" Alexei repeatedly pointed at pictures of children with different hair colors. There was one person in particular who looked really familiar to him. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, just like he did.

"Alexei, don't you recognize them," asked Makarov. "It's your friends at Fairy Tail! Natsu, Happy, Gray, Erza and so on. These are pictures from when they were little." It seems to Makarov that Alexei picked up a photo album filled with guild pictures.

"Wha?" Alexei couldn't believe this. These were his friends? They were once small, just like him! Maybe one day he will grow big just like them. However, a part of him felt disappointed that there weren't any more children in the guild. It would have been nice to play with babies his own age. His brother tried to play with him, but Laxus was so big and tall. Alexei was still short and small. It would be hard to play what he wanted, and it was hard for him to do the things his brother did.

Makarov nodded his head. He took the book from Alexei and flipped the pages and took out a picture. "This is your older brother, Laxus, when he was younger." Makarov showed him the picture of Laxus on his shoulders at the Fantasia parade. "Here's another from when he was your age."

Alexei looked at each picture in fascination as his grandfather explained the stories behind each one. It must have been so cool to grow up with everyone because they were around the same age and can play with each other. Don't get him wrong, Chara and Asuka were great friends and playmates. However, Asuka was older and was going to preschool, so she wasn't at the guild all the time. Chara was a dog spirit, not human. Even then, because he was a spirit, he couldn't come out all the time and could not talk, just bark. Alexei wished he had friends around his age. If only everyone was a baby, just like him. Or if there was a way for more babies to be in the guild.

"Gwanpa. Whewe baby, come," asked Alexei with child-like innocence. If only he realized the scale of what he just asked his grandfather, who was currently frozen like a statue.

The question caught Makarov off. He couldn't believe a one-year-old asked this question. Of course, Alexei was different from other babies, but still. He wasn't expecting this question for years. "You can ask Laxus that question," replied Makarov with a sly grin.

"Achoo," sneezed Laxus, the force of it causing a pile of papers to fall on the floor.

At the guild

"Hmmmm." Natsu stared intently at the guild's mission board, scanning with narrowed eyes and hoping to find something interesting to do. "Ugh. There's nothing interesting here! None of these missions involve fighting," complained Natsu as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

"Fighting isn't everything," stated Happy as he flew around Natsu's head, checking the board to see if there was something interesting Natsu might have missed.

"How am I going to get stronger and beat Laxus if I don't beat things up?!"

"Oi! If you're going to fight, at least stop damaging public property!" Laxus scolded Natsu as he came down the stairs. "Half the paperwork I have to do has your name on it!" He still can't believe Natsu can't show restraint when doing missions.

"Laxus, fight me!" Natsu changed into a fighting stance, his left fist on fire.

"Stop trying to fight someone you obviously can't beat," yelled Gray from across the room as he unconsciously stripped off his clothes down to his underwear. Juvia was hiding behind a pillar, looking on with heart-shaped eyes.

"What did you say, ice butt?!"

"Can't you hear lizard breath?"

While Natsu and Gray were busy fighting amongst each other, with Gajeel joining in because they almost bumped into Levy, Laxus headed to the bar to grab a drink before Cana finished it all. Currently in the guild it was Natsu, Gray, Gajeel, Levy, Laxus, Juvia, Cana, the Strauss Siblings and The Thunder Legion. All doing their own thing and minding their own business.

If only they knew the chaos, that was about to come.

Happy noticed a strange flier with some drawings and strange writing in a different language. He read the strange writing out loud.

ó bheag go mór

ó ard go beag

ó dhuine fásta go leanbh

Suddenly, a bright light erupted from the paper. It engulfed all the members present in the room.

"Goo goo."

"That's a great book you picked Alexei…." The Master's voice trailed off when he came from downstairs from the guild library to the guildhall. "What happened here?!" He couldn't believe what was in front of him.

"Goo goo!"

"Man!"

"Wahhhhh!"

"Abu!"

Apparently, all the members of the guild turned into babies except for Happy. Perhaps the spell did not affect Happy because he was not human. "I don't know what happened," wailed Happy with tears down his face as he tried to console a crying Natsu. "One second they were all adults and then the next they turned in babies!" They all looked to be the same age as Alexei or Asuka. Some of the older members were toddlers, while the younger ones were babies.

"Babies!" Alexei let out an excited gasp when he saw all the babies in the room. They looked exactly like the babies in the picture! Did his wish come true? "Bwoda!" Alexei noticed the tiny boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, but something was missing. The scar on his face. "It me, Alsi!"

"Alsi!" Laxus smiled a toothy grin when Alexei called for him. "Let's play!" He tugged on Alexei's hand and took him towards the corner where the toys were.

While the two brothers ran off to play together, Makarov observed the other members of the guild to observe and grasp what happened. It seemed that Cana, Mira, Elfman, Erza, and the Thunder Legion were toddlers. Natsu, Gray, Juvia, Lisanna, Levy and Gajeel were babies.

Makarov chuckled when he saw a baby Natsu crawl towards baby Gray and pull his hair. In retaliation, Gray let out a scream and pushed Natsu's hand away. Levy was holding a book in her hands with Gajeel pouting behind her. Lisanna and Juvia were happily babbling to each other. Cana was drinking bottles of milk after milk. The others were playing dress up. It seemed something would never change.

"Master! Maybe this is it!" Happy waved the piece of paper he read from before up in the air. "When I read this, a bright light came out of nowhere and then they turned into babies!" This is the conclusion Happy came to.

Makarov grabbed the paper from Happy's paws, skimming at the words. "Looking at the characters, it looks like an ancient language. It definitely looks like a spell." He told his children many times not to read mission flyers they did not understand out loud. Did they not learn from the body exchange incident?!

"Too bad Freed and Levy are babies! Who's going to translate this now?"

"What's going on here?! Where did all these babies come from?!" Lucy walked into the guildhall and was surprised to see the amount of babies. Did they accept a large babysitting mission? Babysitting missions weren't uncommon. But there was something about those babies. They reminded her of people she knew.

"Lushie!" Happy crashed into Lucy's bosom and, through his mumbling, explained what happened. At least with Lucy here, they can figure out the spell. Lucy was just as smart as Freed and Levy.

"Calm down, Happy!" Lucy comforted Happy by giving him a pat on the head. At this point, it was better to appear calm because of the amount of shenanigans her teammates got into. "First things first. Let's get everyone situated. All available and able-bodied members come into the guild. We need all the man-power we can get!" The babies needed to be calm and distracted for them to figure out the meaning of the spell that was cast. There's no way they can watch the babies and do their research. Babies had to be fed, changed, and rested.

Later in the day

Every person was designated two babies to take care of, with the exception of Gildarts who were taking care of Cana and making up for lost time. Lucy was assigned to the Dreyar brothers. She was grateful too, since the brothers were preoccupied and well-behaved. Most of the day was spent playing Alexei's favorite games, even the games Laxus rarely played with Alexei such as pretend and dress up.

"You guys let me know if you need anything, okay." Lucy ruffled the brothers hair after placing a plate of cookies at the table they were sitting at. "I'll be right here." Lucy pointed to the table next to theirs. They were in the guild library. Luckily, she managed to find a book with the language of the flier written in and origin of the language. So far, her research showed that it was a harmless prank spell, and that it was reversible. She just needed to find the counter spell.

"Okay," chirped Alexei happily and Laxus in a timid voice. Lucy was surprised to see how shy Laxus was around her. The Master did mention Laxus was different as a child. The Master neglected to tell her that Laxus was shy around pretty girls. Lucy put on her gale reading glasses and furiously started taking notes as she worked to find a counter-spell.

"Pwetty." Laxus let out a dreamy sigh as he looked at the beautiful blonde in front of him. She gave him and Alexi chocolate chip cookies. She had such a pretty smile.

Alexei nodded in agreement when he saw Laxus call Lucy pretty. "Yeah! Lucy pwetty! She da best!"

Laxus took a cookie and hopped down from the chair he was sitting on. He walked towards the table Lucy was reading at and tapped her leg. "H-hello." He raised the cookie in the air as Laxus avoided Lucy's gaze. He wanted her to taste how amazing the cookies were and thank him for being a good boy.

Lucy let out a silent squeal at this as she took the cookie from Laxus. Toddler Laxus was so adorable and sweet. "Why, thank you Laxus." She leaned down and pressed her lips against Laxus's cheek, who turned red at the gesture. "You're a very good boy. That was very thoughtful of you."

Laxus nodded and ran back to the table he was sitting at. That was scary, but he was happy he was brave enough to give her a cookie.

Alexei let out an angry pout when he saw Lucy kiss Laxus's cheek. This wasn't fair. He wanted a kiss on the cheeks as well. Alexei usually didn't like sharing his food but for Lucy he will do anything.

Alexei grabbed a cookie from the plate and ran towards Lucy. On the way, he accidentally tripped on an uneven tile and fell. "Oowie," sniffed Alexei as he tried to hold back tears. The cookie laid on the floor, broken. "Lucy!"

"Alexei, it's okay." Lucy helped Alexei up and pressed a kiss to Alexei's forehead. "There are more cookies on the plate. Next time, try not to run around with something in your hand." She assumed Alexei was upset about the broken cookie. "Pain, pain, go away," sang Lucy softly, causing the boy to let out a giggle. "See. You were very brave, Alexei."

Alexei let out a smile and directed a satisfied smirk towards his brother when Lucy wasn't looking. "Lucy. Me and bwoda go play!" The more Alexei keeps Laxus distracted, the less likely he'll gain Lucy's attention.

A few minutes later

"Uh oh," exclaimed Alexei as he looked at the scene in front of him. He and Laxus were playing catch with a bright red ball. Usually it was hard to play catch with Laxus because he was so tall and could easily catch the ball. With Laxus being smaller, it was more of an even match. However, Alexei couldn't control his strength and the ball landed on top of one of the bookshelves. Alexei could not reach that high. He turned to face Laxus. "Bwoda, get ball. Oh!" Glancing at Laxus, Alexei got a reality check. Usually if Alexei threw the ball too hard or was out of reach, Laxus would get it for him. But Laxus was small, just like him. "It okay. We play another." Alexei nodded to himself. They could just play another game. So what if they were the same size? It was time to play tag.

"Bwoda, up!" Alexei shook his brother's shoulder. After a few minutes of playing tag, Laxus felt tired and sat down on the rug, curling into a ball. Noticing his brother was about to fall asleep and still feeling bored, Alexei tried to wake him up. He wanted to play more. Laxus was always able to keep up with him and his energy.

Seeing Laxus fall asleep, Alexei sadly left him alone. "I want bwoda," he sniffed, wiping the tears streaming down his face. Playing with little Laxus was fun, but he missed his adult big brother. Alexei liked having someone look after him. Sure, they couldn't do everything together, but the things they did together were special moments for Alexei. Such as piggy back rides, making food, or getting something from a high place, and just his large presence was a source of comfort to Alexei.

"I found it," screamed Lucy, her voice traveling throughout the library. "It's simple but effective." Lucy headed to the brothers. "Come on Alexei! Let's join the others."

ó bheag go mór

ó beag go hard

ó leanbh go duine fásta

Lucy chanted the spell out loud in front of the gathered children. A bright light engulfed them. Behind the light revealed the previous baby Fairy Tail members were now back to their regular size.

"Wha? What happened?" Laxus blinked furiously, trying to adjust his vision. His head was pounding. Laxus felt like something happened but couldn't remember it.

"You don't remember," asked the Master. "None of you remember," he asked the others and got no's in response. "Here's what happened."

The Next Day

Tap. Tap. Tap.

"Hm." Laxus's ears perked up at the sound and put down the magazine he was reading. It may or may not have been Lucy's latest article. The tapping sound came closer. He turned towards the direction the sound came from and let out a tiny smile. "Hey. Look at you."

Standing there was Alexei, wearing his headphones, jacket and shoes. He was even wearing the kid's version of the purple shirt he used to wear. Alexei raised his hands in the air, indicating he wanted to be picked and happily exclaimed. "Me like bwoda!" The events from yesterday taught Alexei that he liked his older brother just the way he was and wanted to be just like him. "Big and stwong!"

"In that case, you better eat your veggies and train every day," joked Laxus as they headed towards the kitchen.
