Sonic was worried about Longclaw and stayed awake as she rested. They were not too far from the cave they shared,but a rest was good.
Longclaw woke a couple hours later,"We should get back to the cave now Sonic"
"Why cab't we just , make friends with the seem nice and the one helped you."
"Sonic, as soon as they seen your power,they would not be bad enough they know we can talk"Longclaw stated"We may want to go to another world even, least for now"
Sonic sighed and then noise was heard putting them both on alert.
It was a couple hunters looking for deer,one looked in shock at the two cretures, the other pulled out a phone"I'm calling the police, no wait the FBI...or maybe some goverment base"
Longclaw spread out her wings ready to defend them both,"Back off"She spoke quickly "Sonic...go, get to the cave and take the rings and go"
Sonic frowned "I...no I won't leave you here by yourself"
One of the hunters went to grab Sonic and he yelped as a couple quills shot out ino the hunters hunter cussed and went to stab the hedgehog in the shoulder.
The next few secounds happen quickly, Longclaw lunged at the hunter,the other fired off his feel to the forest floor. Sonic screamed loudly and sparks shot out,shocking the two cheked Longclaw and with a choaked sob, he ran...he fled the area back to the caves.
Longclaw was dead,the two hunters had some burn marks from being shocked and stared in surprise at the blu blur as the hedgehog fled.
Sadly hiding at the cave didn't work,many goverment people showed up,Sonic barely got out, he barely managed to get Longclaw from the truck bed she laid ran to the only place he could think of.
Tom and Maddie were watching TV when the news interupted the both looked at one another and then jumped slightly when a knock was at the door.
Tom got up to answer it, slowly opening the door,a gasp came from him and made Maddie rush over.
Sonicgave a soft grunt and passed out from exhalution,right into Tom's arm as he caught the hedgehog.
Maddie quickly checked Sonic and then Longclaw,once inside Maddie frowned deeply"Honey...she...the owl is dead, looks like someone shot her"She looks at Sonic "Oh poor baby...wait the news, thy are after him Tom, we...we have to do something,we can't let the goverment get him."
Tom hugged Maddie "Don't worry dear, I will make sure no one hurts him,or us...for now let's tend to him,get him to...the attic"He looks at the owl and frowns "We can give her a proper burial..."
It was going to be a long next couple days.
