It's been ten years since Boruto killed Kawaki. Since then, he went rogue. Hinata has been grief-stricken, Hanabi had become an ANBU to assist in finding Boruto and bring him in for questioning.

"Why did he leave?"

"Is the Hokage's son going to destroy Konoha?"

"Will he return and face the consequences?"

These are questions the villagers of Konoha consistently ask themselves and others. Everyone, including Boruto's family is in fear of another attack, whether by Boruto or some other foe. Naruto doesn't know what to do at this point

Naruto was sitting in his office, writing on some paperwork when Shikamaru walked in, and he was holding some pictures that hired informants took at Sunagakure.

"Naruto, you had better take a look at this." He said.

"What is it?" He asked, in a rather panicked way.

"The informants we hired at Sunagakure have taken pictures of Boruto. Your son is at Sunagakure, Naruto." Said Shikamaru. "What are your orders?"

"Send in every available team to Sunagakure, after we notify them that Boruto is there." Said Naruto.

Team 7, which now consists of Mitsuki, Sarada, and Sumire, Boruto's replacement for the time being. Only they are no longer Team 7, but individual shinobi. Sumire and Mitsuki have reached Chunin status, and Sarada is now a Jonin. Their former teacher, Konohamaru, is leading the kill/capture mission against Boruto. Sarada has yet to be given her own team to train and lead in missions, but that's put aside for now.

"So, Boruto's in Sunagakure." Said Sarada. "I wonder what his move is going to be."

"Nothing good, I'm guessing." Said Mitsuki.

"Hmm, yeah." Said Sumire, who still had good feelings regarding Boruto. There's no way he would think of destroying a whole village. Right?

"If we capture him, there's not a 100% guarantee he'd give us anything. Any of his reasons for leaving and abandoning the village." Said Sarada.

"I suppose." Said Mitsuki. "There's no 100% guarantee he wouldn't try to kill us either."

After their discussion came to a close, the kill/capture mission was initiated. Hinata had joined in as well, because the reasons were already pretty obvious: this was her son, and she wasn't going to let him continue going against his village.

Hanabi, who was now an ANBU, was observing Boruto from afar, watching him as he was at a ramen stand ordering some cup ramen. Boruto was wearing a black hoodie, and had his headband in his pocket, with the trademark rogue-nin carved line through the village symbol.

Boruto walked through an alleyway, and Hanabi had continued to stalk him, and when she jumped down behind him, Boruto said without looking at her, "You know, you really shouldn't sneak up on people like that, Hanabi."

Hanabi sighed and took off her mask. "Fine, you caught me. Before I turn you over to your father for desertion, I need to ask you some questions."

"Dad is still the Hokage?" Asked Boruto.

"Yes, as a matter of fact." Hanabi said.

Boruto sighed, "Okay, so what is it you wanted to ask me?"

They went into the cellar of an old rundown building that had no lights except for an electronic lantern that Hanabi brought with her. Boruto was confined to this cellar, because Hanabi was still a very strong Kunoichi, and she would likely radio Konohagakure given if he did try to escape.

"Why did you leave Konoha? And why kill Kawaki?"

"Konoha was a symbol of an age that must end. One that I could not be a part of. The age of shinobi, in my eyes, has long overstayed its welcome. Since then, there's been nothing but war, death, and misery brought upon hundreds of thousands of innocents who live on this planet. I believe in order for our world to thrive and prosper, the age of Shinobi must come to an end." Boruto said, the whole time rather emotionlessly.

"You're starting to sound a lot like Kawaki." Said Hanabi in an equally cold tone. "You believe your cause to be just, but you're just another rogue ninja who betrayed his village. Your family, our family, has been living in fear since you killed Kawaki and since you made that statement before leaving."

"The Age of Shinobi must come to an end."

Boruto had said that at a young age, probably around 14. He believed, no, he knew that the Shinobi had to go. They were but a plague upon the world they lived in, and would gladly destroy every village in his way.

Boruto had heard the Konoha and Suna shinobi outside the cellar door. It didn't seem like they knew where he and his aunt were, so he had to act quick.

Boruto had activated his Rasengan, and hit Hanabi in the stomach, which Hanabi had felt several bones broken and a few ruptured organs. Hanabi's mouth was now leaking blood as a result.
