[Idris]
Alec was wearing formal Shadowhunter clothing. It was a leather tunic, tight across his chest and it left his arms bare, his runes bold against his pale skin. It was long in the back, and shorter in the front, which was the custom formal style. His pants were also leather, his belt held his Shadowhunter blade and his boots were steel toed, leather as well. He had a dagger in it's sheath inside his boot, that he had to disclose upon arriving in Idris. His dark hair shagged to one side mostly and his grey-blue eyes held confidence in them, even if inside, he wasn't feeling confident right now.
He was escorted by Jace, leaving Iz back at the institute to watch over Bella and Magnus was allowed into the institute as well. Hodge Starkweather was there supervising other Shadowhunters in the area. Jace was dressed formally as well, his bright blonde hair was slick back in it's usual style on his head and his golden eyes were fierce. He was silent as he walked beside Alec into the capital.
When they came to a stop in the main holding chamber, they were met with six other Shadowhunters, guardsmen of Idris. They were stoically quiet as they stood there, awaiting Consul Aldertree.
Alec was quiet, as was Jace, when Victor Aldertree walked into the chamber. He was bold, his dark skin glistening with a wondrous glow and his dark runes were nearly completely hidden with his skin. His dark eyes were unreadable. His hair was dark, kept close to his scalp and his goatee was neatly trimmed on his face. He wore brighter leather than the other Shadowhunters, carrying red and purple tones with the tunic and pants. He wore a gold ring on his right hand. The crest of the Aldertrees and it was bold against his skin. He stopped before Alec and Jace then waved a hand of dismissal to the other Shadowhunters and they left them alone.
"How were your travels?" Victor asked, his deep voice reverbed in the chamber well.
Alec gave a short nod. "We did Consul Aldertree."
"Victor. This is informal before you go before the rest of the Clave."
"Victor." Alec nodded again.
Victor studied Alec a moment. "You are a strong leader. You have been supervising the Brooklyn Institute for quite some time since your father and mother moved on to London." He paused. "You retrieved the Herondale girl." He said as a statement. "You've saved her from Valentine's clutches, now Valentine and Jonathan Morgenstern are being dealt with by the angels themselves." He recapped.
Alec swallowed. "Yes sir."
"You've done an outstanding job." Victor admitted.
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me yet." Victor said and then walked around Alec and Jace, inspecting them. "Isabella Herondale is royalty for our kind. Her disappearance was heartbreaking 20 years ago." He said and came back to stand in front of Alec and Jace. "You and she are involved."
Alec looked at Victor, his eyes capturing his. "We are."
"It's serious, I take it."
"Yes sir." Alec swallowed. "Bella is pregnant... sir."
Victor arched a brow. "None of which was in the report. This is new information, yes?"
"We've known for… a couple weeks. Angel Caius informed her and then… she told me." Alec explained.
Victor was quiet as he thought about this. "What did the Angel Caius say?"
It was as if Caius was listening for his name as a blinding light happened and the chamber shook as Caius landed in the chamber with Alec, Jace, and Victor. His bright wings were unfurled at first, but he pulled them in to make room.
Victor was stunned into silence as he looked over Caius. "Mag… magnificent."
Caius's brilliant blue eyes sparkled with swirls of gold, his white-blond hair was combed neatly back, tucked behind his ear, brushing his shoulders. He wore all white otherwise, a sign of purity. "I hope I am not intruding."
Alec looked to Caius. "Not at all. I assumed you would have been resting after yesterday."
"I am fine." Caius said and looked to Jace, reaching a hand out and fist-bumping him like they had during battle on the ship when they retrieved Bella. He turned his attention to Victor. "Victor Aldertree."
Victor went to his knees to bow now, tucking his chin in as he knelt before Caius. "Angel Caius… it is a honor."
"Child, please stand. This is an informal gathering." Caius said, and Victor got back to his feet. "I'm here on Bella's behalf."
Victor nodded. "Of course sir."
"The child Bella is carrying is very important. She is the key to keeping the gates of hell closed for good." Caius explained. "Alec and Bella hold more angel blood in them than any other Shadowhunter, as does Jace Herondale."
"Wait." Jace interrupted. "Wayland."
"No, Herondale." Caius said with a nod and then looked at Victor. "Victor knows."
Victor swallowed and then nodded. "Yes, it is true. Jace was hidden on purpose as a child. Taken in by Michael Wayland to make sure that another Herondale would never fall prey to Valentine."
Jace was a little stunned, as was Alec, as the truth of Jace came out. "That means that Bella is my-"
"She's your sister." Caius said with a nod and then he looked back at Victor. "Alec is important. His bloodline, is important, us angels, consider Alec Lightwood and Bella Herondale's union, to be one that should not be struck down."
Victor nodded. "Of course, I understand."
"Good." Caius said and looked at Alec. "My brother Aro will be in touch with you. He'll be your assigned angel. Jace, your angel is Marcus. Now that Valentine is taken care of, you too, will have abilities to create new runes and hold relics that no other Shadowhunter before you, could."
Alec was still stunned at all the information that he was given. "Thank you, Caius."
"We are brothers now." Caius said. "We fought together. There will be another time, where we will fight together again." He said and looked to Victor. "I understand there's a formal meeting with the Clave?"
"Yes, it's not important now. Alec and Jace should get back to the institute. Back to Bella." Victor said with a wave of his hand.
"Are you sure?" Alec asked.
Victor nodded. "Yes, it is unnecessary to hold another meeting. I will give information to the rest of the Clave."
Caius smiled internally. He knew that Bella was distraught about this. The Clave were known to make mistakes, so he wanted to remedy what he could. "Good. Alec, Jace, I'll see you around sometime. Take care of Bella and her child." He said and then he gone.
Alec looked at Jace and then back at Victor, who appeared to be mesmerized by Caius's disappearance. "Victor."
"Alec, it is clear what the angels want. We will not defy the angels." Victor reassured. "Thank you for traveling to Idris, both of you. Jace… I'm sorry we kept this information from you before."
Jace was little upset about it, but to him, it didn't matter because he was raised well by Michael Wayland, and he didn't care about that right now. "It's okay. I'm sure in the coming weeks, I'll learn more and we'll… deal with the rest. For now, I'll escort Alec back to the institute and we'll keep in touch."
"Sounds good." Victor said with a nod.
It was strange, how things went much different than Alec anticipated. He didn't know that Caius would show up, but he knew Bella had everything to do with that. He couldn't wait to get back home so he could hold her, kiss her and finally just feel free, loving her as much as he did.
