This is the first chapters of this final mini arc, the upcoming chapters are connected to one another in chronological order

"What do we do?" -Bobo was distraught, their heavy hitters were out cold. Wonder Woman, Constantine, Fate (Trace) and Swamp Thing, the Ragman suit run out of souls, leaving as the last line of defence to Zatanna, Zatara, Khalid, Chimp, Man Bat, Wonder Girl, Mera and Isis. From the Watchtower Nightwing, Blood, Aquaman, Atom, Captain Marvel, Blue Beetle, Robin, and Xanadu were watching how the battle against Merlin and his Black Knight.

"Ese, we need to do something." -Jaime was ready to battle, he couldn't bear to see his girlfriend out of cold.

"Change, change…" -Jason was ready to call for Etrigan.

"Jason! Wait, I have a plan." -Dick interrupted the poem, preventing Jason's change.

"Nightwing. We need Etrigan if we want to stand a chance against Merlin and his Knight." -Robin was the first to question the plan, he knew he was out of his deep.

"Yes, we do. But first, I need Jason and Xanadu."

"What's the plan?" -Aquaman trusted any plan that Dick had and was ready to go a help his wife.

"Aquaman. You, Robin, Blue and Captain go and provide back-up for Zee and the rest. Atom kept watching everything and maintain me inform with the situation."

"What are you going…" -Robin was questioning Dick again, it was odd for him not running to the battlefield to protect his girlfriend.

"Deploy! Now!" -Aquaman's team zeta to the location.

"What's the plan?"

"Nimue, I need you to call Stranger." -Jason and Blood were surprised by that order. But Xanadu did as she was told. And quickly enough, Stranger appeared.

"I think you know why I called you."

"I know. Are you sure about this?" -Dick's cold gaze was the only response the Phantom needed as he transporter Jason, Xanadu and Nightwing to another place.

"Dleihs!" -Father and daughter casted a protecting spell trying to guard themselves from Merlin's magic but even with Khalid and Isis' reinforcements…the barrier was starting to crack. Meanwhile Chimp, Wonder Girl, Man-Bat and Mera were fighting the Knight.

"Your magic is nothing against mine!" -Merlin was ready to go all out but was stopped by a hit from Beetle and Shazam meanwhile Aquaman was helping his queen. Robin went to help the wounded with Wonder Woman starting to stir.

"Wonder Woman. I'm so glad that you are okay, but we need you. We are getting our butts' kick." -Diana knew that there was no time to feel the pain and launch herself to Merlin helping Billy and Jaime.

"Tim! Where's Blood and Nimue?" -Zee knew that they needed all the magical help they could get.

"Nightwing stayed at the Watchtower with them. He said he had a plan." -Zee was relieved knowing that her boyfriend was coming up with a much-needed plan, but she couldn't to feel a sharp pain in her heart. Blue was giving his all against the man who injured Trace, but his armour was weak against Mystic threats.

"Blue. Let's switch dance partners."

"As your command. Queen Mera." -Blue helped Aquaman but the Knight has already taken out Chimp and Man-Bat.

"You are all going to die!" -Merlin invoked his own army of demons. Putting the heroes between the wall and the sword.

"There's to many of them! What do we do!" -Cassie was reaching to her mentor for guidance.

"We fight and we win. Together!" -Everyone was ready to launch one last assault with Diana's battle cry until they were interrupted by a hellfire projection from Etrigan killing multiple demons.

"You sure take your time."

"Wait! Where's Nightwing?" -Zee was worried no seeing him with Etrigan and Xanadu.

"Zee. I'm sorry." -Zatanna didn't understand her words until a flash of light appeared.

"Take care of the demons! Merlin is mine." -A familiar yet so different voice was heard in the sky, and everyone looked up only to see Dick or what was left of him. His skin was pale like Deadman's, and he was wearing a suit like a Talon but with red in the golden parts, with red quills that looked like they were from his flash and blood and with golden eyes. Zatanna started to drop some tears seeing him like that.

"Dios mio! Is that Nightwing?!"

"What did he do?"

"He asked me to call Stranger…Blood and I were with him but…" -Xanadu knew that Zee was going to be heart broken.

"But what?!" -She started to shake Nimue as Zatara tried to calm her.

"He made a deal with Mordru…" -She now was watching how Dick was now possessed by a power that rivals the one from the Lords of Chaos and Order. He was a Talon with dark magic.

"So, goody boy is getting his hands dirty…" -Constantine was admiring Dick's determination as he smokes. Dick was kicking Merlin's ass and the rest of the heroes were done with the demons.

"What did Mordru wanted in exchange?" -Zatara knew that the old Chaos Lord wasn't one to give things for free.

"He didn't want to get his hands dirty, so he gave Nightwing this power to take out Merlin and trap him." -They were watching how Chaos Lord Talon was trapping Merlin in a sphere, making everything going back to normal.

"Aggh." -Fate was regaining his consciousness.

"Traci! Are you alright?"

"The host is fine, and we see that the fight is over." -They were watching how Dick was flying in front of everyone.

"If it's a done deal…why isn't Dick getting back to normal?" -Cassie was worried for her mentor.

"Mordru! Release him!" -Zatanna screamed as she, Billy and Zatara were getting a deja vu from back then when Fate didn't want to release Zee.

"No. This boy…is such a good herald for this power and I can't get my hands dirty." -The words of Mordru were echoing in everyone's head.

"You cold bastard. Luv' I'm afraid that your boy toy belongs to someone else." -If a look could kill, John would be dead already by how Zee looked at him.

"There has to be something we can do." -Billy was wondering if he could as for a favour from Shazam's wizard or something.

"Nabu! There's must be something you can do! This has to affect the balance." -Khalid was trying to get help from Nabu.

"There's a way but you won't like it."

"I don't care. Help me! Please." -The strong and confident magician was helpless that she begged for Nabu's help.

"If we must!" -Nabu agreed in part to avoid getting annoyed by the sorceress and because she, her father, Khalid, Trace and Nightwing himself have earned his respect.

"Come. We need to gather all our energy. We are sending Zatanna to another plain for her to reach for his soul, where she must fight to get him back…"

"What if she can't?" -Tim was terrified, he didn't want to lose his brother.

"He would stay like that forever and Zatanna's soul would get lost. Leaving nothing but her soulless body behind." -Zee was ready to throw her soul away from him…after all he just did that for her.

"If it can't be helped…let's get Pretty Boy back. But if this doesn't work…I call dibs on you Luv'" -Zatara, Tim and Cassie were ready to kill Constantine for that comment. The magic user makes a circle and send Zee to the soul realm. When she arrived, she could recognized the international Haly's Circus but this one was packed with police officer and ambulance. Zatanna entered the tent to see a 8 year old boy crying. She changed herself to match her 9-year-old version and sprinted to him.

"Dick. Dick. Are you alright?" -The kid didn't look at her.

"It was my fault. I didn't catch them. I kill them."

"That isn't true." -A fiery look in his eyes.

"Just look!" -Zee looked up at watched the Flying Grayson's show and watched how Dick failed to catch his parents from the trapeze.

"Dick. This isn't how it happen. A man, Tony Zucco, cut the ropes to getting back at Haly. You weren't even in the trapeze yet." -Her words as art of magic fixed his broken memory. Dick's pale skin went back to his normal tone, but his eyes were still yellow, and the feathers weapons were still there. Zee now knew what she had to do, she had to bring his broken pieces together. They were now in the cave and Dick and Zee changed to their 17-year-old selves. They were watching Jason.

"I kill Jason. If I was there for him…he would…" -They watched the scene. Dick was screaming at Jason for taking the Robin mantle and how wasn't his to take and how unworthy he was of that name.

"Honey. That didn't happen like that." -Zee cupped his face as she fixed the memory with Dick and Zee watching Jason training getting pointer from both and show him, how they took Jason to some of their dates. The feathers were long gone by now. She just needed to get back those blue eyes she loves so much.

"C'mon. Let's get to the next one."

"No. I don't want to…" -Dick didn't wanted to move, this was getting harder. Zee offered her hand.

"Do you trust me?" -Zee gave a tender and lovely smile to him. He answered her by taking her hand. This time it was the fight between Dick as Talon and Bruce. Zee watched how Dick sliced Batman's throat after a force battle.

"I killed the man who raised me."

"No, you didn't. You get out of the Court's program and save him from the other Talon's and together took down all the Talons and break the Owls in half." -They looked at each other's eyes and his eyes were getting back to normal as they were inching closer to kiss…Dick catches something behind her and started to get back to his Chaos Lord's form and Zatanna was surprised by his change.

"No. I failed you. I broke your heart…" -Zatanna could see the fear and sadness in his eyes.

"You save me. You bring my heart back together after all the loses…after all the tears…"

"No! No! I shattered your heart." -Dick was getting consumed by the darkness.

"That's impossible because you are my heart and I'm yours." -Zatanna casted a spell and show all their moments together and red string appeared in their finger connecting them.

"See. We are meant to be…in this and in every life."

"You. You are everything that's good in my life. -Dick got back to normal and they were going to kiss until a bright light consumed all. Zatanna was lying on the floor, she started to open her eyes to see her father and Mera looking at her.

"Picola. I'm so relieve you are back."

"Dick? Where's he?" -Zee notice that she was taking his hand and that he was lying next to him, and he was getting up.

"Zee."

"I love you." -She was hugging him tightly as rocking kisses all over his face.

"That's it? No scolding or yelling?" -Dick was ready to get his ass kicked.

"I'm just glad that you are here. Let's go home." -Zatanna buries herself on him.

"You are my home."
