"Same as usual. Bobo got so drunk that he almost doomed a whole ass dimension but thanks to Diana, Man Bat, Blue Devil, Ragman, Khalid and I; we manage to stop the whole zombie armada and get Myrra back to its former glory."
"I knew you could make it. You are amazing."
"You can keep saying that…how did it go on your end? Did you finally have a plan?"
"I informed Batman and the rest; Cassie agreed to help me with the Outsiders." -Meanwhile, the couple was being spied from the other side of the Watchtower.
"Conner can you use your super hearing to know what they are saying?"
"I don't think we should spy on them."
"Conner, sweetie. Please." -Conner rolled his eyes and did as he was told.
"Okay. Psychic link established. We are now going to hear everything."
"Zee. I have a surprise for you, but I need you to close your eyes and cover your ears." -Zee arched her eyebrow before closing her eyes and out her hand on her ears. Meanwhile Dick was looking for something in his pocket.
"Awwww! Dick is going to proposed to Zatanna."
"I think we should stop."
"Conner if you stop this, I'm going to divorce you so bad." -Conner knew it was a bluff, but he knew better than upset his wife.
"Do not cheat, Z." -She was trying to open her eyes and only saw him looking for something in his pocket.
"Found it!" -Dick exclaimed happily and Artemis, Raquel, Kaldur, Conner, Clark, Jeff, Megan, and Dinah were watching in awe.
"Ahh!" -The spying heroes waere in pain, they were expecting Dick to pull a box with a ring on it but instead he pulled a sonic device to attack his very nosy friends.
"Gotcha!" -Zee and Dick went to their friends who were on the floor since they were sharing Conner's super hearing through the mind link, everyone got affected by the device.
"Well. Well. Well. What do we have here?" -The heroes shivered hearing the magician.
"Our so-called friends. People who should be respecting our privacy.
"But how?"
"Are you guys serious?" -Zee was holding back her laughing
"How can't we be onto you with all the squealing going around?" -Dick arched his eyebrow as he smirked
"We thought you were proposing to Zatanna."
"Yeah. Boy Blunder. What gives? What's taking you so long?" -The acrobat and the sorceress exchange look before burst in laughter.
"What's so funny?"
"Shall we?" -Dick extended his open palm to Zee and she put her hand on his'.
"We shall." -Dick gently pull Zee's glove off, revealing her ring.
"What? When? How? Answers NOW!"
"Dick proposed to me a week ago…"
"What were you thinking?!"
"I think that I stopped The Court from abducting kids, teens and adults and turning them into meta-zombies. Y'know that with the whole trafficking, The League of Shadows and The Light teaming up…The Court doesn't want to be left behind."
"Why didn't you wait for back-up? Why didn't you call me?"
"Zee. This was a now or never situation, there was no time to wait for any of you guys to show up."
"You almost got yourself killed?! Don't you understand that?!"
"But I didn't. I know what I'm doing. I was a Talon myself; I know how they think." -Zee sat on their bed.
"Dick. Do you have any idea how I feel when I heard the radio call from Oracle calling everyone available to look for you in this abandoned building, only for everyone to arrive as the building was collapsing and with no signs of you!" -Zee was sobbing now and Dick got on his knees in front of her to be on eye level.
"Look Zee. I get you. I get worried sick every time you go on a mission, and I know that you can handle yourself better than anyone but I feel so powerless because I can't do much against mystic threats and the last time I tried to help you I make things worse. But I push over those insecurities because I love you and I know how amazing you are." -Dick lifted her chin so he could see her eyes.
"I'm sorry. I truly am and I promised that I'll be better with these things, but you can't ask me to look the other way because people can get hurt."
"I'm not asking that, it's just that…we do these things, so this people get back to their love ones but sometimes we forget that we have love ones waiting for us. And I almost lose you to magic a month ago, it thought I was losing you." -Dick pecks her on the lips.
"As long as I have you to get back to…I'll always find a way to make it home."
"You can't promise that…"
"Maybe but there's one thing I can do promise." -She looked at him quizzically.
"I was planning to ask you this another time…with a huge romantic gesture and the ring ain't ready yet but…Zatanna Zatara. Will you marry me?" -The only answer Dick got was a tackle from the woman, which caused him a lot of pain for his new bruises but was worthy.
"Sorry. Sorry. Did I hurt you?"
"Don't worry. I guess this is all yours now... Mrs. Grayson." -Between the pain he manages to make a flirty comment.
"Don't fool yourself Boy Wonder. All this, has always be mine." -She was on top, straddling him as her hands her rooming all over his body before casting a spell leaving them ready for action.
"Let me get this straight. He proposed to you, with no ring and out of the blue after you screamed at him while he was half dead?" -Dinah asked dumbfounded.
"Yeah. Pretty much." -Zee and Dick were holding each other as she was modelling her ring.
"That sounds right about Boy Blunder's alley."
"That's so sweet. I can't wait for the wedding we have so much to plan, the colours, the cake, the venue…" -Megan went on a rampage and sprint to her home to get her wedding ideas, books, and movies.
"Why didn't you tell us?"
"We were going to tell you, but this was way more fun." -Zee mischievous smiles said it all.
"Congratulations my friend."
"Took you long enough."
"Congratulations partner."
"Dick. I'm so happy for you both." -The guys congratulated their friend as the women, minus Megan, keep squealing and celebrating Zee's engagement.
"And how did you get Zatara to approve it?"
"Better yet. How are you still alive?"
"That's a funny story…" -Zee smiled remembering how that conversation went.
