Ladies and gentlemen of . Welcome to the final chapter of the Standard Arc. It has been a real pleasure writing this story and it means so much that a lot of you have really enjoyed it.
With this, there are only four parts left to the story and I hope that you all continue to read until the end.

Chapter 48: Farewell Duel! A Promise of a Lifetime
Center Court
Yuya woke up and he found himself being carried by Gongenzaka, piggyback style. "Gongenzaka?" Yuya spoke.
"You're awake." Gongenzaka said.
"Yuya, are you okay?" Yuzu came up to him.
"Yeah." Yuya got off of Gongenzaka's back. "I guess the Duels finally took their toll on me."
"Well, you did just do two stressful Duels in a row. It's understandable that you would be exhausted." Rin said.
"Where are we?" Yuya asked.
"We're about to enter the Center Court." Sawatari explained. "And Leo Corporation is gonna make an announcement."
"Probably about Academia." Yuya guessed.
The gates then opened before them.
"The Maiami Championship Junior Youth Tournament!" Nico announced. "After surviving a long 24 hours of fierce battles, our winners have returned here and stand before us in our very own LDS Center Court! Please welcome them back with a standing ovation!"
The audience cheered as Yuya, Yuzu, Ruri, Rin, Serena, Gongenzaka, Sawatari, Shun, Dennis, Tsukikage, Hikage and Mieru entered the arena.
"There's Big Bro Yuya!" Tatsuya smiled as he held a plaque for being the runner-up in the Junior Class.
"Big Sis Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena are there too!" Ayu was happy that they all survived against the Rare Hunters.
"I'm so relieved that they all survived." Yoko was relieved. She was worried for them, especially Yuya, since he was knocked out by Seeker's God Exodia.
"And Serena kept her promise! I'm glad that all of my students made it out in one piece!" Shuzo expressed pride.
"Shivers! Shivers! Shivers!" Futoshi danced in his seat.
The group stopped at the center of the stage where screens showed their faces. "Yuya and Yuzu look pretty tired." Shuzo noticed that both of them had some scratches and dirt on their faces and clothes.
"Gongenzaka looks about the same as usual, though." Ayu pointed out.
"Sawatari looks little beat up too." Tatsuya noticed that Sawatari's clothes were tattered.
"Hm?" Yoko saw Mieru in the group. "Wait, didn't that girl lose her first-round match against that Tsukikage ninja?" She read up on the matchups and could've sworn that Mieru lost, so she shouldn't have been in the Battle Royal.
"Now before we move on to tally the Pendulum Cards, we like to give a special thanks to one of the Duelists standing before us." Nico announced. "Will Serena of You Show Duel School please step forward."
"Me?" Serena questioned.
"Go ahead, Serena." Yuzu pushed her forward.
Serena walked forward and Nico approached her. "Even though you weren't an official participant in the Battle Royal, you Dueled to save us from the captivity of the Ghouls. As such, we like to present you with this." Nico held up a medal. "Normally, this medal would be given to the Duelist who has performed the best throughout the Maiami Championship, but as a show of gratitude, we'd like you to accept it. Everyone, applaud if you agree with me!"
Everyone in the audience applauded and cheered and began chanting. "Serena! Serena! Serena!" Serena was surprised by the amount of praise that she was getting. All she did was Duel against a cheater while everyone else fought more important battles.
"Accept it, Serena." Yuya said.
"You earned it." Ruri smiled.
"Everyone…" Serena smiled and nodded. "Thank you very much." Serena bowed and Nico put the medal on her. She waved at the audience as she went back to the group.
"Now then, we will now tally…" Nico was about to continue.
"That will not be necessary." Himika appeared on the screens. "As the representative of the tournament's organizer, I have a very important announcement for each and every one of you."
"Due to the events of the Battle Royal, as of this moment, the Maiami Championship…has officially been canceled." Himika announced. This of course sparked outrage.
"What the hell?!"
"You're canceling the tournament?!"
"You better explain yourself!"
"The reason we are canceling the Championship is because we were attacked by more than just the Ghouls. An outside force invaded our city during the Battle Royal. And by outside, we do not mean from another country. As you may not believe it, they came from another dimension."
"Their goal was to invade our dimension using Duel Monsters as weapons along with the Real Solid Vision to unleash chaos and destruction. These invaders allied with the Ghouls in an attempt to wipe out all citizens. Man, woman, child, toddler, elderly, every person here, no every person around the world is a target to their attacks! That's why we of Leo Corporation did not make a move as early as we wanted to as we did not want innocent lives to be caught in the crossfires of battle. For that, I apologize." Himika bowed.
"What did she mean by another dimension?"
"And she said invaders, right?"
"And Duel Monsters being used as weapons?"
"She's gotta be lying."
Some of the audience found it hard to believe Himika's words. While the Ghouls were real, they never saw people from another dimension.
"While we were distracted by the Duel between Serena and Bandit Keith, these events happened during the Battle Royal." Himika showed the Obelisk Force turning Takeda and Umesugi into cards. This made everyone scared.
"Wh-What the hell was that?!"
"They were instantly turned into cards!"
"Wait, Hokuto has been missing for a while. Could it be that…" Yaiba had his arm in a sling due to his Duel with Kachidoki.
"He was turned into a card." Masumi guessed.
"This is the power of our enemy, Academia." Himika revealed. "They defeat their opponents in Duels and ruthlessly turn them into cards!"
"If you lose the Duel, they turn you into a card?" Shuzo sweated. "That's ridiculous!"
"There's no way they could ever do that!" Tatsuya didn't want to believe it.
"Is she lying…" Ayu wasn't sure what to believe.
"I-I got bad shivers…" Futoshi trembled.
"But please do not worry. These invaders, as well as the Ghouls have been defeated by the warriors you see on the Center Court." Himika revealed. The screen then showed Dennis, Gongenzaka and Sawatari defeating the Obelisk Force.
Then it showed Ruri and Rin side by side as they summoned their Supreme Queen Dragons and defeated God Exodia and the Obelisk Force.
"They did it!"
"Awesome!"
"They annihilated the enemies!"
It then showed Yuzu defeating Pandora with her dragon and then defeating Sora and finally, Yuya defeating Marik with his Supreme King God Armor – Lightning Flame Dragon.
Himika didn't like showcasing Yuya, but she had to win the audience over. "They are nothing short than heroes who defended Maiami City! We hereby grant them the title of Lance Defense Soldiers, or Lancers for short, and praise them as our saviors!"
That won the audience as they chanted. "Lancers! Lancers! Lancers!" This, however, did not make Yuya happy and Yoko noticed this.
"Thanks to the Lancers' hard work, the crisis was thwarted for now. However, we do not know when the enemy might return. In order to prepare for that, we must be ready to protect ourselves, and to that end we need to work even harder to harden ourselves as Duelists." Himika warned.
"And we are offering LDS' infrastructure for the place and necessary curriculum to do that! The next Lancers may very well be any one of you!" Himika rallied the audience.
"The world as we know it has changed." Reiji appeared on the screen. "The peace we have lived in until yesterday is that of the past. We all need to recognize that from today, we live in an era of war."
"Leo Duel School, LDS, shall become the frontline of defense for the entire world, known from now on as Lance Defense Soldiers! And I, Reiji Akaba, intend to put myself before the enemy lines, together with the Lancers!" The audience cheered for Reiji.
"A Lancer is a lance-wielding horseman who charges head on into the enemy forces. I hereby swear to the entire world that we will annihilate our enemies!" The hit the final nail and everyone cheered for Reiji and the Lancers.
Yoko saw that Yuzu and Gongenzaka looked at Yuya with worried eyes. There was something else going on.
"Excuse me, are you Mrs. Sakaki?" Yoko turned to see a man in a suit with sunglasses and a thin mustache.
"Looks like they're dismissing everyone." Shuzo stood up. "Let's go—Huh? Yoko?" Shuzo noticed that Yoko was gone. That was weird, she was just here.
Outside Center Court
Yuya, Yuzu, Ruri, Rin, Serena, Gongenzaka and Mieru met up with Shuzo, Futoshi, Tatsuya and Ayu outside the arena.
"I am really glad that you all survived!" Shuzo hugged the girls with tears coming out of his eyes.
"Dad, you're squeezing too tight." Yuzu winced.
"Where's my mom?" Yuya noticed his mother wasn't there.
"I don't know. She was with us and then she was gone." Shuzo admitted. "Maybe she went home."
"I see." Yuya looked down.
"In any case, I can't believe what LDS said at the arena. I mean, other dimensions, that's crazy." Shuzo still didn't believe it but he saw that the others didn't share his thoughts. "It's not true, right?"
"I'm sorry." Ruri apologized. "But it is the truth."
"What do you mean?" Futoshi asked.
"I'm…from the Xyz Dimension." Ruri revealed.
"And I'm from the Synchro Dimension." Rin added.
"And I'm from the Fusion Dimension, the same as those soldiers you saw on the screen." Serena explained.
"You're from other dimensions!" Tatsuya's eyes widened.
"My home, the Xyz Dimension, was attacked by the Fusion Dimension, they turned anyone who opposed them into cards, or executed them without a second thought." Ruri's body was shaking. "I saw many of my friends turned to cards."
"But, doesn't that make Big Sis Serena the enemy then?" Ayu asked.
"Don't be stupid!" Yuya shouted harshly, scaring the kids.
"Yuya, calm down." Yuzu held him back. "They're not Reiji Akaba."
"I'm sorry…" Yuya apologized. "A lot happened."
"What did happen?" Shuzo asked.
"When the Battle Royal ended, Reiji Akaba appeared and explained the purpose of the Battle Royal. He knew what was happening but didn't tell us." Gongenzaka explained. "Fortunately, a lady named Ishizu Ishtar predicted what was gonna happen so we were able to prepare ourselves, but even so…" Gongenzaka looked down as he recalled how he almost lost to Rishido.
"But the fact that Reiji Akaba didn't share the information made us mad. So, Yuya challenged him to a Duel with the leadership of the Lancers at stake." Rin continued.
"And who won?" Tatsuya asked.
"I won…but…" Yuya clenched his fist.
"Reiji revealed that when we started a Duel in the Battle Royal, we signed a contract that we would follow his command and the only way to get out of it was to beat him in a Duel." Serena revealed. "And that the leadership wasn't specific as to which Lancers the winner would lead."
"And not only that, Yuya has to find a way to travel dimensions without us." Ruri added.
"Wait, so you don't even get a say?! You're not allowed to say no!" Shuzo got infuriated. "That's it! I'm gonna Duel Reiji Akaba right now!"
"Dad, you can't beat him." Yuzu said.
"What do you mean, I can't?! I'm a former Pro Duelist! I'm not gonna stand by and let a corporate scumbag put my daughter…my daughters in danger!" Shuzo shouted.
"Principal." Yuya spoke. "There's someone much more reliable than Reiji Akaba that can look after us."
"Who?" Shuzo asked.
"Uncle Jonouchi." Yuya said.
"Jonouchi? Wait, you know where he is?!" Shuzo asked.
"Yeah, after I Dueled Valon, he told me that Uncle Jonouchi was in the Synchro Dimension, creating a team of his own to fight Academia." Yuya explained. "If we can locate him, we can ask him for help."
"But there's still the matter of transportation." Serena pointed out. "I had to delete the transporter code on my Duel Disk to cover my escape from Academia."
"And the codes on mine and Shun's Duel Disks are only one-way tickets." Ruri added. "The return program doesn't work at all."
"Well, I'm not just gonna stand around while you guys go fight in other dimensions. There has to be a way. There just has to be…" Yuya clenched his fist.
"In that case, I shall offer my assistance." Everyone turned to see Seto Kaiba.
"Th-The Seto Kaiba! Here in the flesh!" Shuzo was shocked.
"Haven't we seen him before?" Futoshi tilted his head in confusion.
"Don't you remember, he was that hologram when Big Bro Yuya got his new Duel Disk." Ayu remembered.
"And he's the strongest Duelist in the world." Tatsuya pointed out.
"Anything Leo Corporation's Reiji Akaba can do is mere child's play to me." Kaiba boasted. "Now come with me!" Kaiba snapped his fingers and a helicopter appeared over him and lowered itself to the ground.
Gongenzaka felt someone watching him and turned to see his father, waiting. "Father…"
"You do what you have to do, Gongenzaka." Yuya said.
"Right." Gongenzaka walked towards his father while the others boarded the helicopter and it flew towards the open sea.
Kaiba's Helicopter
"Wait, how do you know about the other dimensions?" Yuya asked Kaiba.
"A few weeks ago, members of Academia tried to sweet talk me into funding their operations." Kaiba revealed. "I refused and they tried to turn me into card, but you already know the results of that. That's why they turned to the Ghouls to gather rare cards for their armies."
"Normally I would eliminate anyone who threatens my company, but someone has to stay and here and defend this dimension if Academia launches a surprise attack." Kaiba crossed his arms.
"And you really can help me transport to other dimensions?" Yuya asked.
"I can. We're here." Kaiba looked out the window.
Everyone looked out the window to see a race track with sharp turns, ramps, steep slopes.
Kaiba Corporation Race Track
The helicopter landed where the man who spoke to Yoko stood next to Yuya's D-Wheel. "I have brought the object that you've asked for, sir."
"Good work, Isono." Kaiba said. "Now, Yuya, I need your Dark Rebellion, Clear Wing and Starve Venom cards."
"The dragons?" Yuya asked.
"Out of the monsters that you possess, they produce the strongest form of Fusion, Synchro and Xyz energy. We will harness that energy with the Momentum within your D-Wheel to allow you to travel between the Fusion, Synchro and Xyz Dimensions." Kaiba explained.
"However, the power of the Momentum has to keep up with the power of the dragons, to that end, I arranged a Riding Duel to amplify the momentum." Kaiba revealed.
"A Riding Duel. Who's my opponent?" Yuya asked.
A loud engine roared on the track and appearing on a red D-Wheel in white pants, red shirt and long white jacket was…
"I'm your opponent!" Yoko revealed.
"M-Mom!" Yuya's eyes widened. "What are you wearing?"
"I'm not your mom!" Yoko shouted. "I'm the boss of the Maiami Queens!"
"Maiami Queens?" Yuzu was confused.
"When Yoko was younger, she was the leader of a notorious gang that made even Pros look like rookies. The terrifying Maiami Queens!" Shuzo revealed.
"You are facing a Duelist that shows no mercy to their enemy! Shooting Star Yoko!" Yoko declared.
"Now that the players are here, it's time to begin. If you don't want to get run over, spectators shall get off the track." Kaiba warned.
"Come on." Shuzo ushered the kids to the side while the girls followed closely behind.
"You can't hold back, even if your opponent is family. And you have to do it alone." Kaiba had his hand out.
Yuya looked at his mother who showed no kindness in her eyes. She was ready to take down anyone who would oppose her. "I understand." Yuya handed Kaiba the cards and he got on his D-Wheel.
He removed his goggles and put his helmet on and pressed the button for the visors to appear over his eyes. Both he and Yoko placed themselves at the starting line. Everyone else stood with Kaiba as he put Dark Rebellion, Clear Wing and Starve Venom cards into a machine.
"Let's begin the Duel! Field Magic: Speed World Neo, set on!" Kaiba activated the Field Magic.
"Duel Mode: On!" Yuya's and Yoko's D-Wheels activated as well and the timer appeared before them.

"Riding Duel Acceleration!" Kaiba shouted as Yuya and Yoko sped off. "The first to make the corner goes first!"
Yuya sped up towards the corner to gain the first move. "I won't let you!" Yoko rammed right into Yuya forcing him to slow down as she took the corner.
"Wow, she wasn't kidding when she said that she won't show mercy." Rin winced.
"The first turn is mine!" Yoko shouted.
"Damn it, Mom…" Yuya winced.
"Duel!" Yuya and Yoko declared.

"When I was in the Maiami Ladies, I got into fights every night! From dawn till dusk, I would Duel nonstop! I would crush my enemies without any restraint!" Yoko explained.
"My turn! Draw!" Yoko drew her card. "I set one monster in Defense Position!" Yoko set a monster. "Next, I set two cards and end my turn!"
"My turn! Draw!" Yuya drew his card.

"I summon Odd-Eyes Swordsman (ATK: 1600, LV: 4, PS: 2)!" The dual wielding swordsman appeared.
"Next, by sending the top card of my deck to the Graveyard!" Yuya sent the top card to the Graveyard. "I Special Summon Reaper Magician (ATK: 1500, LV: 4, PS: 5)!" The grim reaper magician appeared.
"Battle Reaper Magician, attack the Defense Monster!" Reaper Magician raised his scythe and sliced the card to reveal a white wolf with white and gold armor.
"Lightlord Hunter Raiko's Reverse Effect, activates! When this card is flipped over, I can destroy one card on the field! I destroy Odd-Eyes Swordsman!" A bright flash of light destroyed the swordsman.
"Also, I must send 3 cards from my deck to the Graveyard!" Yoko discarded her 3 cards and smiled when she saw one of them.
"I now activate Lightlord Beast Wolf's effect! When this card is sent from my deck to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon it! Come! Lightlord Beast Wolf (ATK: 2100, LV: 4)!" A large wolf with an axe and white and gold armor appeared.
"When Reaper Magician destroys a monster in battle, I can draw one card!" Yuya drew his card. "I set one card and end—" Yuya was about to finish.
"At this moment, I activate my set card! Dust Tornado! This destroys one Magic or Trap Card on the opponent's field! I destroy the card you just set!" A tornado sucked up Yuya's card.
"I end my turn." Yuya relented.
Yoko slowed down so she was at Yuya's level. "Is that really all you got!" Yoko rammed into Yuya. "If you can't defeat me, you'll never defeat the enemy!"
"Why is she being so mean to Big Bro Yuya?" Ayu was confused how the kind Yoko was now ruthless against her own son.
"I don't know." Yuzu said. "I've never seen Auntie Yoko like this."
"My turn! Draw!" Yoko drew her card.

"I activate the Speed Spell: Angel Baton! I draw two cards and then discard one!" Yoko drew two cards and then discarded one of them.
"Next, I summon the Tuner Monster, Lightlord Maiden Minerva (ATK: 800, LV: 3)!" A maiden with short brown hair and a snow owl appeared!
"A Tuner?!" Yuya's eyes widened.
"I'm Tuning my Level 4 Lightlord Beast Wolf with my Level 3 Lightlord Maiden Minerva!" Minerva turned into three green rings and Beast Wolf flew through them and became 4 stars.
"O Saint Michael, Archangel of the Light, with the mighty Dragon of Judgement in thou command, we praise thou as our guardian! Synchro Summon! Descend upon us! Level 7! Lightlord Ark Michael (ATK: 2600, LV: 7)!" Appearing on a white dragon was a male in gold and white angel armor with a large sword.
"Mom…Synchro Summoned…" Yuya's eyes widened.
"I'm not your mom! I'm Shooting Star Yoko!" Yoko shouted. "When I have four Lightlord monsters with different names in my Graveyard, I can Special Summon this card! Come forth! Judgement Dragon (ATK: 3000, LV: 8)!" A dragon identical to the one Michael was riding on appeared.
"I activate Michael's effect! Once per turn, I pay 1000 Life Points to banish one card on the field! I banish Reaper Magician!" Michael chanted magic in his sword and aimed it at Reaper Magician who disappeared.
"Battle! Michael! Direct Attack!" Michael raised his sword as the dragon he rode unleashed a breath attack and Michael channeled his power into the roar and it struck Yuya.

"Yuya!" Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena shouted.
"End this! Judgement Dragon! Direct Attack!" Judgement Dragon roared towards Yuya.
"From the Graveyard, I activate Odd-Eyes Gardna's monster effect! By banishing this card from the game, I can reduce one instance of battle or effect damage to 0!" A shield appeared over Yuya and protected him from the dragon's attack.
"Why are you still hesitating?! I'm the enemy! You have to strike me down no matter what?! You have to win no matter what!" Yoko shouted angrily.
Yuya closed his eyes and stopped his D-Wheel. Yoko saw this and stopped her D-Wheel.
"Annihilate the enemy…do whatever it takes to win…is that all you people think about?" Yuya growled.
"That's war, Yuya." Yoko spoke softer. "You have to do whatever it takes to survive. Even if it means betraying everything you stand for."
"The Maiami Queens had a code, only defeat the enemy in a Duel. That's what I did, I would only defeat them during a Duel. I was feared and my group respected me. But…" Yoko closed her eyes.
"But…" Yuya asked.
"One day, a rival gang who had it out for me kidnapped one of my friends. I decided to track them down and defeat them in a Duel. But they weren't looking for a Duel. I remember it, the metal pipes, the planks of wood, and the switchblades. They wanted to get revenge by making me suffer. They beat my friend beyond recognition, I got so angry that I charged at them and beat them with their own weapons. I had broken the code and was expelled from the group." Yoko continued.
"Mom…" Yuya looked at her.
"The police then came for me. They dragged me to their car, handcuffed me and treated me like dirt. But I didn't regret my choice, even if I betrayed the code, my friend was safe and that was all that mattered." Yoko said.
"Those people from Academia, they're not the types who will play by the rules." Yoko pointed out. "Your belief in the Heart of Cards is admirable and it has moved the hearts of others, but can you say that can work in other dimensions? Can they work against Academia?"
"Mom, Academia is just another victim. Leo Akaba has them under his control. He's ruling them through fear." Yuya argued.
"If that is true, then can your Dueling give them the courage to go against him?" Yoko asked.
"I…" Yuya couldn't answer. He never really thought about that. Even if the students are aware that they are being used, can he really give them the courage to take a stand against the man who threatened their families.
"You need more than just power, Yuya. You need better judgement. You need to realize that your beliefs won't work on people from other dimensions." Yoko advised. "You have to take the path that will guarantee victory."
"I understand." Yuya lowered his head.
"Then, let's continue the Duel." Yoko started going forward.
"Even so, that's not my path." Yuya revved his engine. "My path is the one I create!" Yuya accelerated and jumped over the track towards the water.
"Yuya!" Yoko cried and everyone else was shocked, except Kaiba.
"I won't accept a win where we have to sacrifice a comrade! I won't accept a win where we have to betray our beliefs!" Yuya shouted as he continued to fall.
"I'll find a way for everyone to survive! I'll find a way to defeat Academia without destroying them! And I'll do it not as a Lancer…but as a Dragon Soldier!" Yuya declared.
Kaiba smiled and pressed a button on the control panel and a new road started rising under Yuya which he landed on. "That's the answer I wanted to hear." Kaiba thought.
Yoko let out a sigh of relief. "Looks like I was worried over nothing." Yoko got serious. "Then show me your resolve! I end my turn! At the End Phase, Judgement Dragon makes me send 4 cards from my deck to the Graveyard and Michael has me send 3 to the Graveyard!" Yoko discarded 7 cards.
"The counterattack starts now!" Yuya declared.
"There it is!" Ayu smiled.
"Big Bro Yuya's Dueling!" Tatsuya cheered.
"The shivers!" Futoshi danced.
"My turn! Draw!" Yuya drew his card.

"With the Scale 2 Synchro Magician and the Scale 7 Treasure Magician, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Yuya set his scale. Appearing with Treasure Magician was a female magician in white robes and green hair. "With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 3 to 6!
"Here it comes, the Pendulum Summon!" Tatsuya smiled.
"Whoa, let's not get ahead ourselves." Yuya smiled. "First, I Normal Summon Dragon Magician (ATK: 500, LV: 1, PS: 6)!" A small male magician with black hair and green armor appeared with dragon wings sprouted from his back.
"Next, I activate Treasure Magician's Pendulum Effect! I draw one card for each card I have on the field. I have 3 so I draw 3 cards!" Yuya drew 3 cards.
"Swing, pendulum of the soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my comrades!" The giant pendulum swung and a portal opened and three lights emerged. "From the Extra Deck, Odd-Eyes Swordsman (ATK: 1600, PS: 4, PS: 2)! And from my hand, Fusion Magician (ATK: 2000, LV: 6, PS: 4)! And Odd-Eyes Sniper (ATK: 1200, LV: 3, PS: 5)!"
Yuya's swordsman reappeared with the master of Fusion and dichromatic eyed sniper. Yuya then heard the roars of three dragons. "I hear you! I'll bring you all out right now!"
"I activate Synchro Magician's Pendulum Effect! Once per turn, I can select one monster on the field and treat is as a Tuner Monster! I treat Odd-Eyes Sniper as a Level 3 Tuner Monster!" Synchro Magician gathered her magic and blessed Odd-Eyes Sniper with it.
"I'm Tuning my Level 4 Odd-Eyes Swordsman with my Level 3 Odd-Eyes Sniper!" Sniper turned into 3 green rings and Swordsman flew through them and became four stars!
"Dragon with dichromatic eyes! Rise from the depths of the earth's core and incinerate your enemies! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! The dragon with the eyes of magma! Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon (ATK: 2500, LV: 7)!" Yuya's first Synchro Dragon appeared and roared as flames danced around him.
"Yuya's first Synchro Monster!" Rin smiled.
The Clear Wing Synchro Dragon card then glowed. "It's working." Kaiba smiled.
Yuya kept riding on the different path and made a sharp turn. "I activate Fusion Magician's effect! Once per turn, I can perform a Fusion Summon using her and another monster on the field or in my hand as material! I fuse Fusion Magician with the Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon from my hand!"
Odd-Eyes appeared while Fusion Magician created the swirling vortex and the two entered it together.
"Dragon with dichromatic eyes! Become one with the master of Fusion and unleash raging winds! Fusion Summon!" Yuya put his hands together. "Come forth! The dragon with the eyes of a hurricane! Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon (ATK: 2500, LV: 7)!" Yuya's first Fusion Dragon appeared.
"Now it's his first Fusion Dragon!" Yuzu smiled.
"Amazing!" Serena was in awe.
The Starve Venom Fusion Dragon card then glowed.
"Vortex Dragon's effect activates! When it is Special Summoned, I can select one monster on my opponent's field in Attack Position and return it to the hand! I choose Judgement Dragon!" Yoko's dragon disappeared and returned to her hand.
Yuya completed the turn and zoomed forward. "I activate Dragon Magician's effect! Once per turn, I can Special Summon a Dragon-type monster from my Graveyard with its Attack Points reduced to 0!"
Dragon Magician raised his staff and slammed it on the ground. "Revive! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon (ATK: 0, LV: 7, PS: 4)!" Odd-Eyes revived but with no Attack Points. "Also, Dragon Magician's Level matches the revived dragon's Level!"
Dragon Magician (LV: 1→7)
Yuya then reached the end of the road and flew off it and was now flying above Yoko. "I Overlay the Level 7 Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Dragon Magician!" Both monsters turned into purple lights and flew into the spacelike portal above them.
"Dragon with dichromatic eyes! Emerge from the frozen tundra and unleash your wrath! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 7! The dragon with the eyes of ice! Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon (ATK: 2800, RNK: 7, OVU: 2)!" Yuya summoned his first Xyz Dragon.
"His first Xyz Dragon…he connected them all!" Ruri smiled.
The Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon card glowed.
Yuya landed in front of Yoko and zoomed off and Yoko smiled. "Battle! Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon, attack Michael! Spiral Blizzard Burst!" Absolute Dragon unleashed an icy roar.
"I activate my Continuous Trap: Lightlord Barrier! When a Lightlord monster is targeted for an attack, I can send 2 cards from my deck to the Graveyard and negate that attack!" Yoko discarded two cards.
"Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon's effect! When a Magic, Trap or Monster Effect is activated, once per turn, I can shuffle a Pendulum Monster from my Extra Deck into my deck to negate the activation and destroy it!" Yuya returned Fusion Magician to his deck and it shuffled.
Vortex Dragon unleashed a cyclone that destroyed Yoko's Trap card and Michael got destroyed.
Yoko LP: 3000→2800
"I activate Michael's effect! When this card is destroyed, I can add any number of Lightlord monsters in my Graveyard to my deck and gain 300 Life Points for each returned card." Yoko shouted.
"Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon prevents monsters in my opponent's possession from activating effects during the Battle Phase!" Yuya revealed as Yoko's effect did not activate.
"Next, Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon! Direct Attack! Spiral Hurricane Burst!" Vortex Dragon unleashed his vortex breath attack that made Yoko spin before she regained her balance.
Yoko LP: 2800→300
Yuya then started drifting to the side and held his hand out towards Yoko. "And now the last attack! Go! Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon! Direct Attack! Spiral Magma Burst!" Meteorburst unleashed his roar of scorching hot magma. "This is my resolve!"
The attack hit Yoko, but she didn't mind. She just smiled; her job was done.
Yoko LP: 300→0
Winner: Yuya Sakaki
Yuya crossed the starting line and braked, while Yoko stopped just short of it as smoke came out of her D-Wheel.
"Linking with D-Wheel!" Kaiba typed code in the computer. "Running Program!" The light from the three dragons disappeared and Yuya's D-Wheel glowed and changed color from purple to white to black and then back to red again and three portals opened around him.
One led to a castle on an island, another to a metropolis, and finally a war-torn city.
"Heartland." Ruri said.
"Neo Domino." Rin said.
"Academia." Serena said.
"New feature added. Dimension Travel. Please play specific card to travel to a dimension." Yuya's D-Wheel showed the options.
"Experiment complete!" Kaiba announced. "You are now able to travel between dimensions!"
"I can go with everyone." Yuya smiled at the new feature. He then saw his mother get off her D-Wheel and remove her helmet. "Mom." Yuya took off his helmet, got off his D-Wheel and walked towards her.
"It's been a while since I last did this, but Dueling's still the best." Yoko smiled. Everyone got on the track, except for Kaiba and gathered around the mother and son.
"Mom…you were testing me, weren't you?" Yuya asked.
"When that Himika woman explained the role of the Lancers, I was a bit worried that you would throw away your Dueling to crush your enemies. And when Seto asked me for assistance in helping you travel dimensions, I had to push you to the point where you would see me as an enemy and defeat me as a Lancer." Yoko explained.
"But it seems I was worried over nothing. Even though I tried to hurt you, you didn't falter and kept Dueling the way you normally do. You should never throw away the Dueling that you believe in, even if it is to win." Yoko smiled.
"Mom…" Yuya uttered.
"If anyone can end this war, it's you, Yuya. You have the power to connect with others with your Dueling and create miracles. You can stop Leo Akaba, save the four dimensions and…" Yoko put her hand on Yuya's heart. "You can find a way to bring them back."
Yuya's eyes widened when she said that. "Mom, you know—"
"I told you." Kaiba joined them. "I keep tabs on my rivals." Kaiba held out Starve Venom, Clear Wing and Dark Rebellion. "Nothing in this world is impossible. If you are able to hear them, speak with them, there is surely a way to bring them back."
Yuya took the cards back and looked at them. "I though it would be okay, just knowing that I can still talk to them. But now…they deserve as much as I do to be their own person. The answer to bring them back is out there and I'll find it!"
"I'll save Heartland, free Academia and come back to You Show with everyone! All eight of us!" Yuya declared.
"Eight?" Ayu was confused.
"There is Big Bro Yuya, Big Sis Yuzu, Big Sis Ruri, Big Sis Rin and Big Sis Serena." Futoshi counted.
"Who are the other three?" Tatsuya wondered.
"Yuya…" Yuzu smiled; she knew the people Yuya was talking about.
"You can do it." Ruri believed it.
"We will do our part to help." Rin wanted the same thing.
"It's not complete without all four of them." Serena thought of the other Duelists she admired.
"It would be nice to meet everyone." Yuto appeared next to Yuya.
"Yeah, I can teach them Riding Duels!" Yugo smiled.
"A dysfunctional family, how corny." Yuri acted tough but he did smile at the thought.
Leo Corporation
The next day, Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Gongenzaka followed Nakajima to the gathering room for the Lancers.
"How's the connection, Yuya?" Yuzu asked on her Duel Disk.
Outside You Show Duel School
"I can see and hear you loud and clear." Yuya answeredas he sat on his D-Wheel as he watched the screen. "What happened to your face, Gongenzaka?" Yuya notice his best friend was bruised and hand band-aids over his face.
"I had a serious Duel with my father. He wanted me to prove I'm ready." Gongenzaka answered.
Reiji's Office
Yuzu opened the door where they found Sawatari, Dennis, Shun and Tsukikage waiting for them.
"About time the peanut gallery showed up. Now we can get the show on the road." Sawatari declared.
"Hey, the main stars always come late." Yuzu teased Sawatari.
"Touché." Sawatari admitted defeat.
"Looks like it's time." Ruri walked up to Shun.
"Yeah, we're gonna drive Academia out of Heartland." Shun agreed.
"It's just you?" Rin asked Tsukikage as she didn't see Hikage.
"My brother will handle the defenses of Standard." Tsukikage explained.
"You're not gonna change Duel Disks?" Dennis asked as he had a Standard Dimension model.
"This was actually a gift from my foster father, before I was taken to Academia." Serena revealed.
"I see. Sorry." Dennis apologized.
"It's fine." Serena smiled. "We're gonna take our school back."
"Yeah." Dennis smiled.
"Is everyone here?" Reiji came down the stairs.
"And the corporate scumbag is the last to arrive." Sawatari smirked.
Reiji saw Yuya on Yuzu's Duel Disk. "After this, you will be on your own." Reiji declared.
"That's not up to you." Yuya narrowed his eyes.
"So, it's just the 10 of us?" Dennis asked.
"11." Reiji corrected. "Reira will be joining us." Reira appeared on top of the stairs.
"You're bringing a child?!" Shun got angry. "He's better of staying here, where it's safe!"
"Reira's skills are on par with yours." Reiji said. "He will be a huge asset in our ranks. More so than some of you."
"Why are you looking at me?" Sawatari felt insulted.
"I'm drawing the line! We're not taking him to Academia!" Shun refused.
"We aren't going to Academia." Reiji revealed, confusing everyone.
"We aren't? Then where are we going?" Ruri asked.
"To your home." Reiji pointed at Rin.
"Neo Domino City! The Synchro Dimension!" Rin's eyes widened.
"The Synchro Dimension has yet to be drawn into the conflict with Academia. There we can recruit allies to aid us." Reiji answered. "If we are to take on Academia, we will need more manpower than us and the Resistance of the Xyz Dimension. With three dimensions facing one, our chances for victory will increase exponentially." Reiji said.
"So, an alliance." Gongenzaka summarized.
"Wait, Serena, didn't you tell me that there was spy in the Synchro Dimension?" Yuya spoke up.
"A spy?" Shun repeated.
"Uh, care to fill us in?" Sawatari asked.
"Three years ago, a man named Jean Michel Roget was ordered by Leo Akaba to infiltrate the Synchro Dimension and take control from the inside." Serena revealed.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Time out!" Rin spoke. "Did you say Roget?"
"Yes." Serena answered.
"Oh man…oh man, this is bad. This is really bad." Rin muttered.
"What's wrong?" Yuzu asked.
"Roget is the Director of Security." Rin revealed.
"Security?" Gongenzaka asked.
"I guess I should explain how Neo Domino works." Rin took a breath. "Neo Domino society is all about competition. If you win, you get everything, but if you lose, you lose everything. 1% of the population controls 99% of the city's wealth and live in a life of luxury, while the other 99% of the population only have 1% of the wealth and live in run down homes. Those who win are knows as the Tops, while those who lose are known as Commons."
"That doesn't sound fair at all." Sawatari said.
"It's not. It was hard to get food or even a good place to sleep." Rin agreed. "Anyway, Security is the law enforcement of Neo Domino and they highly discriminate the Commons. They arrest anyone they think is a threat whether or not they have committed a crime."
"And this Roget guy is in charge of them." Shun narrowed his eyes.
"Yeah…" Rin nodded.
"Rin, when did he become director?" Serena asked.
"Three years ago." Rin answered.
"He betrayed Academia." Serena realized.
"What do you mean?" Dennis asked.
"Roget was supposed to send a message when he was successfully infiltrated the inner branches of the Synchro Dimension and begin the invasion. But if he's been Director for three years without telling Leo Akaba."
"Then he wants to take the Synchro Dimension for himself." Yuya spoke. "He's become consumed by power."
"And Security will have more than just Synchro Monsters with them." Tsukikage spoke. "With his origin, this Roget may have supplied them with Fusion Monsters."
"The possibility is high." Serena agreed.
"Even so, not everyone agrees with him." Roget showed a video to everyone in the Volcano Area. It was the Obelisk Force defeating the Youth Team and Rua stopping the Obelisk Force.
"Whoa, that kid beat them in an instant." Dennis was amazed.
"Now listen to this." Reiji played the audio.
"I didn't learn much, but at least I know where Security got their technology now. I got to share this with the others." Rua said before he disappeared.
"This proves that there is a group opposing the Security. We must find them and have them become our allies." Reiji said. "Along with anyone who opposes Security."
"There are plenty of them around." Rin pointed out. "But you have to be careful, Security will go after you if you even breathe suspiciously."
"Good to know…" Yuzu sweated.
"Now then, it's time to depart." Reiji fixed his glasses. He brought up his Duel Disks and typed in something and pressed a button and all of the Duel Disks of the Lancers lit up.
"Using the data from Kurosaki's Duel Disk, I managed to perfect the dimensional travel code and installed it on your Duel Disks. Also, I have installed the Field Magic: Dimension Gates into the Duel Disk to create the Action Field. And I have also given you all your own Pendulum Cards. These will be our advantage against our enemies." Reiji explained.
"Now, prepare the card that I have given you." Reiji held up a card that the others had. "The coordinate data of the Synchro Dimension has already been put in. Set them in your Duel disks, and then activate them when I give the signal."
Everyone inserted the cards. "We're almost ready." Yuzu spoke to Yuya.
"Okay, I'll be heading off." Yuya said.
"Yuya…" Yuzu caught her tongue and shook her head. "I'll see you there."
"Definitely." Yuya smiled. The call ended.
Outside You Show
"It's time…" Yuya turned to Yoko, Shuzo, and the kids. "We'll definitely come back. That's my promise of a lifetime."
"We're rooting for you." Tatsuya smiled.
"Save the world!" Ayu said.
"And give the enemy the shivers!" Futoshi danced.
Yuya smiled and was about to put his helmet on when Yoko hugged him. "Take care of yourself." Yuya felt something wet hit his face.
"I will." Yuya buried his face in his mother's chest. They stayed like that for a while before the pulled apart and Yoko placed a kiss on Yuya's forehead.
"Go be a hero." Yoko smiled.
"I'm off." Yuya put on his helmet. He revved the engine before driving off.
"You could've said goodbye too." Shuzo looked behind him.
"To me, goodbye means that we'll never see each other again." Nico Smiley approached the group.
"Nico Smiley." Futoshi said.
"So, instead I'll simply believe that he will come back." Nico looked at where Yuya drove off. "And when he does, he'll be the Duelist that he was always meant to be."
Reiji's Office
"Now we depart for the Synchro Dimension." Reiji said. "Dimension Mover, activate!"
Everyone activated the card and they all turned into blue particles and disappeared.
Maiami Expressway
Yuya pulled out Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. "Let's go." Yuya placed Clear Wing on his D-Wheel and Clear Wing appeared and roared and Yuya's D-Wheel changed from red to white.
"A Duelist he was always meant to be?" Tatsuya asked Nico.
Both Yuya and Clear Wing went faster.
"A Duelist that inspires others to pursue their dreams. A Duelist that who inspires change. A Duelist that makes us see the world not as it is, but as it should be." Nico said.
Clear Wing began glowing and so did Yuya.
"A symbol of hope. A protector against evil." Nico continued.
In a flash of light both Yuya and Clear Wing disappeared.
"A Guardian."
And done. We have finished Part 1 of the Remake. I want to thank those who have followed this story and I hope you all are excited for Part 2 as we go into the Synchro Dimension. It will be different than what it was shown in the anime.

"Neo Domino City." Rin said. "If you win, you're a Top." A beautiful city was shown. "But if you lose, you're a Common." A run-down city below was shown.
"Security discriminates against the Commons." Multiple Security vehicles started pulling up where the Lancers are at. "And we're no exception." Rin was handcuffed by an officer with blue hair, wearing a white blouse under a blue jacket that ends in the front abdomen above a brown belt, but falls past her white skirt in the back, brown heels and blue dangle earrings.
A New Dimension
"We're off to a great start." Yuya said sarcastically as he was forced to watch Security take Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena away.
New Allies
"Damn it, a dead end!" Yuya cursed as he heard Security closing in on him.
"Over here!" Yuya turned to see Rua Godwin and Rio Kamishiro.
"Hurry!"
Reunions
"You did survive." Asuka Tenjoin hugged Yuya.
"Of course, he's my nephew after all." Katsuya Jonouchi smiled.
"Rin, it's me, Crow Hogan!" Crow shouted as Security dragged him away.
"Crow…Hogan!" Rin's eyes widened. "Wait, let me go!" Rin was dragged away by other officers.
A New Team
"The Dimension Guardians?" Yuya asked.
"Yeah, if we're gonna be heroes we gotta be the friendly-neighborhood kind." Rua explained.
"What's the name of the team we're rescuing?" Rio asked.
"The Lancers." Yuya answered.
"The Lancers? They sound more like invaders than heroes." Rua commented.
"What idiot came up with that name?" Rio asked.
"I like you guys." Yuya smiled.
New Duels
"Yuya, above you!" Yugo shouted.
"Guys, move!" Yuya shouted as he, Jonouchi, Asuka, Rua and Rio avoided a strike from above. Appearing before them was a white machine monster.
"You five are charged for going against Security." A hologram of a man with long nose, green eyes, and ash-blonde hair that is neatly combed and arranged on top of his head but flares out into short wings at the back of his skull. He wore a closed knee-length purple coat that is held shut by silver clasps over an orange collared shirt. His coat has an orange lining and patterns that cause him to appear as if he is wearing a second shorter coat over his long coat. Roget also wears grey dress pants and black dress shoes.
"I, Jean Michel Roget, sentence to you to death! Get them! Machine Imperial God Machinicle Infinity Cubic!"
"Let's go! We'll beat it together!" Jonouchi shouted.
"Raid Duel!" Yuya, Jonouchi, Asuka, Rua and Rio declared.
The Ultimate Test
"If you wish to prove yourselves as allies, then you must participate in the biggest tournament of the year." An elderly man with white hair said.
"You mean…" Rua's eyes widened.
"Yes, the Friendship Cup." The white man nodded.
A Familiar Phenomenon
"Go! Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight!" The King, Jack Atlas ordered his ace monster to attack.
"Counter it! Clear Wing!" Yuya shouted and both dragons collided.
Suddenly, both Yuya and Jack felt pain in their arms. Then, Rua and Rin felt pain in their arms.
Difficult Trials
"You're Steadfast Dueling is worthless in the World of Speed!" A man wearing a riding suit with a symbol of a unicorn declared.
Gongenzaka punched the wall in frustration.
"Pendulum is no match for the mighty Thor!" Sawatari faced one of the Three Aesir Gods.
Bonds Will Be Tested
"How could you go against us, Crow?!" A man with double colored purple hair with strands of blue shouted. "I thought we were friends."
"Even so, I won't turn my back on family!" Crow argued.
"Do you trust me?" Dennis held out a Fusion card towards Ruri and Shun saw it.
Everything is at Stake
"Sir, I beg you, let us evacuate the Tops!" An officer argued with Roget.
"The future requires sacrifice. To do that, we have to sacrifice." Roget eyed some Academia soldiers arriving in the Synchro Dimension.
"RUKA!" Rua shouted in horror as clouds of dust and debris started expanding throughout Neo Domino City.
Take a Stand
"I won't forgive you for what you have done!" Shun activated his Duel Disk.
"Do you really think you can beat me?" Kaiser asked.
"The two of us will defeat you!" Yuzu said as she and Asuka stood together.
"You can try!" Darkness activated his Duel Disk.
Make a Change
"But I'm Security! I'm the enemy!" A Security man was surprised that Serena saved him.
"I don't care! I don't anyone to get hurt!" Serena said.
Go beyond your limits
"This speed…this wind…" Yuya felt himself fly through the wind.
"I feel all my worries going away…" Rin flew along with the wind.
The Journey Enters the World of Speed
"Let's go! Everyone!" Yuya shouted. "To the future!"
"Yeah!" Everyone raced on the highway.
Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V Remake Part 2: Synchro
Yuya walks through an alley and a familiar face appeared before him. "You're!" Yuya's eyes widened.
"I'm waiting, Yuya."
