"Oi Luffy hurry up"
"I'm coming, Shanks"
A lanky black-haired teenager wearing a straw hat jumped into the front seat of the waiting car.
"Did you get all your homework done"
"Uhhhhhh no"
"Luffyyyyy"
"Hey I got home late last night"
"I know I was the one who had to open the window for you. Luffy I can't keep covering for you I have a job to do as your principal"
"I know. I know. I promise I'll try my best to finish it before I get to school"
"Good"
While on their way to school the two heard an explosion near the bank.
"Go and don't be late"
Shanks pulled into a nearby alleyway and Luffy darted out disappearing. In the darkness of the alleyway, no one could see that the boy's clothes and hair changed from red and black to pure white and the scarf of steam that formed between his arms and back. He grabbed the top of the nearby builds and launched himself toward the bank.
"Hurry up" Grunt 1
"Shut up I'm trying I can't get the safe combination right" Grunt 2
"Have you tried turning it the other way" Luffy suggested
"Of course I have. WAIT A MINUTE WHO ARE YOU" Grunt 1 said
"Ay I know this guy it's that rubber freak that showed up 5 months ago," Grunt 2 said
"I remember now. What did they call him? Smiley or something?" Grunt 1 asked
"It's JOY BOY," Luffy said punching the grunt into the wall. Seeing his companion soundly beaten grunt 2 made a run for it.
"Oh no you don't"
Luffy grabbed the side of the wall stretching it and he molded it into a lasso. Soon enough grunt 2 was lassoed and sent flying back into the wall. He crashed and remained tied up. Luffy checked his watch. 5 minutes to get to class on time. He ran out of the building and rocketed himself towards the school.
BRINGING
"Just in time," Luffy said
"Yeah for the first time in forever. How on earth are you almost late even though you live with the principal?" Asked a long-nosed boy with curly hair
"Oh shut up Usopp"
"Hey, I'm just saying it's weird. Are you going on some secret adventures without Chopper, Zoro, and I?"
"It's nothing Usopp I just lose track of time"
The long-nosed boy seemed satisfied by that answer. The two friends grabbed their seats next to a boy with green hair and a short boy wearing a pink fluffy hat.
"Oi Luffy you're on time," the green-haired boy declared surprised
"Yeah Zoro. I'm surprised you're here I thought you would still be sleeping at home"
"Sensei woke me up and drove me here"
"Guess that explains why you aren't running around the city right now"
"Shut up Usopp"
"Oi Chopper how was your weekend?" Luffy asked the short boy
"It was okay. I read the latest issue of One Piece it was soooo good," he replied.
From the corner of his eye, Luffy could see an orange-haired girl talking to a girl with blue hair.
"Nami you rejected another one"
"Yes, Vivi. He was so annoying."
"I have to agree with you on that but he's really cute"
"A pretty face can't make up for a horrible personality"
"It sure does help though."
Luffy couldn't help but be drawn to their conversation.
"So she rejected another one," he thought
He was broken out of his thoughts by the bell going off to signal the start of class. The class went by how it would usually go for him. He would try to stay awake, he'd get hungry, and finally, he would fall asleep. Rinse and repeat until lunch and then after lunch rinse and repeat once again until school is over.
"Oi Luffy look," Usopp pointed to a poster on the cafeteria wall. "The freshmen winter dance is coming up."
"Yeah it is," he had completely forgotten. He was so busy being a hero and trying to keep up with his assignments that he had completely forgotten.
"SOO~. When are you gonna ask Nami?" Usopp asked while smirking
"Shut up Usopp what if someone hears you," Luffy said blushing.
"Oh come on. You guys are childhood friends right it'll work out," Chopper said encouragingly.
"Chopper I haven't talked to her in almost 2 years. Besides, do you see how popular she is? No way I would be able to get close enough to ask. She's constantly surrounded by her friends, fan club, or both."
"Luffy you need to stop selling yourself short. You're probably the only guy she'd be willing to go with. I mean who else is she gonna go with."
"Sanji"
"Sanji is a pervert that gets rejected 12 times a day by her. Luffy you have a shot just ask her," Zoro said having woken up from his nap
Before Luffy could respond the bell rang to signal the end of lunch. Luffy packed up his things and went to his next class with his friends teasing him the entire way. Finally after what seemed like an eternity the school day ended and Luffy was free to go.
"Bye guys gotta go," Luffy said rushing out.
"Oi Luffy wait up," Usopp, Zoro, and Chopper ran after him.
Unbeknownst to Luffy, a pair of light brown eyes watched him as he rushed out. "He's been doing that a lot lately," Nami thought.
"Nami ready to go.'
"Yeah, Vivi give me a minute."
