3 days later

Once Mac and Rosie had been cleared to leave the hospital, Harm brought his wife and daughter home. So far all had been going good, Mac was still on bed rest, so Trish and Frank moved into the guest room so they'd be able to help out Harm with the kids and funeral arrangements for Annie.

So far everyone had been getting along, Rosie was sleeping in the master bedroom with Harm and Mac, Tommy was sleeping in the nursery, and Josh stayed in his room, he never really came out except to eat and use the bathroom. This was bothering Trish, it reminded her of Harm after his father went missing.

'Knock-Knock' "Come in." Mac said from behind the door.

"Darling am I bothering you?"

"Not in the least Trish, come sit. I'm going crazy in here all alone."

"I imagine you are; how are doing dear?"

"As well as can be expected, I figured when we found out about my endometriosis, I wouldn't be able to conceive easily again, but now I never will. Harm blames himself."

"He's a Rabb; it's a family trait, Harmon sr blamed himself for my condition."

Mac was curious now; "Your condition?"

"Harm was never intended to be an only child, I got pregnant again when he was about 3, and I lost the baby. I never knew why until years later, when Frank and I tried for a baby, I have what's called a low egg count, it reduces my chance of being able to conceive. When we were told this, we both decided to stop trying, and just accept that Harm would be our only child."

"Trish I'm so sorry, how did you let go?"

"I had Harmon, I poured all my love into him. You have three beautiful children, Josh, Tommy, and little Rosie. Remember that. They all love you. Speaking of Josh; I'm worried about him. As you might know, I was never fond of Annie, I never wished anything ill to happen to her, but Josh is reminding me of Harm and the way he acted after Harm sr went missing. "

"How so?"

"He's keeping to himself, staying in his room, only coming out to eat, then he goes back inside."

Mac thought for a minute; "Maybe I should talk to him?"

"That might be wise, I regret not talking to Harmon, at the time I was so wrapped up in my grief. I simply let Grandma Sarah handle Harm. Looking back now. I shouldn't have done that."

"Trish it's the past, Harm loves you. He's never once blamed you for anything." Mac lowered her head.

"Darling, what's wrong?"

"I haven't told Harm everything Dr. Cook told me, she froze my eggs, in case we decided we wanted another baby via a surrogate. I'm not sure I'm ready to think about going that route, still, I feel that I should at some point tell Harm so he at least knows."

"Darling that's up to you; you know Harm better than he knows himself. I'm sure when you feel the time is right you'll tell him, for just concentrate on your 2 babies and Josh. The rest will work itself out."

Mac smiled at her mother-in-law, Trish stood up off the bed, leaning over to place a loving kiss on her head. Mac watched Trish leave the bedroom, she decided to get up and check on her children. She walked over to the bassinet, peeking inside at her tiny sleeping daughter.

She placed her hand on her tiny stomach, and Rosie scrunched up her little nose." You are perfect, just like your daddy said you would be. You know he dreamed of you long before you were conceived. He knew you'd come to us, and he knew from the moment we found out that mommy was pregnant that you were our little girl."

Harm leaned against the door frame and listened to his wife talking to their tiny little miracle. He smiled to himself. As he thought back over the last almost year a lot had changed but he wouldn't trade any of it. Pushing himself off the door he walked into their room, and over to Mac wrapping his arms around her waist, leaning back not her neck. "If I'm hurting you please tell me."

Mac turned in his arms, "Your arms never hurt me." She toyed with his buttons. "I need to talk to you." Harm's expression suddenly turned serious.

"Sweetheart, what's going on? Are you okay?"

"I didn't tell you everything Dr. Cook told me." She took a long deep breath. "She froze my eggs, in case we decide in the future to have another baby VIA a surrogate."

Harm took in the information Mac just told him. "Sweetheart that's good, but I'd rather not go that route unless you would want to, only because you're the only woman I want to see my baby growing inside of."

Mac smiled, "I only wanted you to know, that we still have options."

"Sarah I think our family is perfect, we have 3 children, Tommy, Rosie, and now Josh. We've been blessed beyond words. It's more than I deserve, given my past."

Mac rubbed his cheek; "You're perfect, you deserve your family, you've proven yourself over and over again. I love you, Harm. Now we need to talk to Josh, your mom is worried about him."

Harm raised his eyebrows; "What's going on with him?"

"She said he's been staying in his room, only coming out to eat or use the bathroom, she concerned he's not handling Annie's death well."

He nodded his head; "We should go talk to him."

Mac nodded her head, he took her by the hand, and together they walked the short distance to Josh's room. He tapped on the door, and both listened for any signs of life on the other side, not hearing anything. They both glanced at each other. "Josh buddy; it's Uncle Harm; mind if I come in."

"It's fine."

Harm opened the door, and he and Mac made their way into the barely lit room. Both looking for Josh, Mac spotted him sitting in the corner with his knees pulled up to his chest. She went over to him, sitting down next to him on the floor, wincing just a bit. "Josh, do you feel like talking to us?"

He looked up at both Harm and Mac ( Harm had now sat down on the floor as well ) "Do I have to?"

"You don't have to buddy, we just thought you might want to."

Josh started to cry; Mac immediately reached for him, taking him into her arms, rubbing his head, and holding him close to her. "Shhhhh; it's okay, just let it all out."

"Aunt Mac; I thought you were going to die, just like my mom did. ( sniff ) I don't want you to die, I don't want to lose another mom."

"Oh sweetie, I'm not going to die, I promise you."

"I was scared.. When Grammy Trish said you had to have an operation. Why did you have to have it?"

Harm and Mac both looked at each other; trying to figure out the best way to explain this to him."Buddy, you see Mac, had some trouble after she had Rosie. And they had to help her."

Josh looked over at his Aunt, "Did I cause this?"

"No; No.. Why do you think that?"

"Uncle Harm told me to hurry the night you went to the hospital. I started to think I wasn't fast enough. That was why you got sick. I thought it was my fault."

Mac hugged him closer to her, she tilted his head to look at her, "Josh; nothing that happened to me is in any way your fault. I have a condition, that's no one's fault, not yours, not Uncle Harm's; not anyone's."

"Are you okay now?"

"In time I will be, you don't need to worry about me okay!"

"If you say so" Josh was still looking at the ground.

"Josh you know you can talk to me and your Aunt about anything right."

"Yes Sir, I know that." He put his head down. "I just don't want Aunt Mac to die, like mom did, I don't want to lose another mom."

Mac held him as tight as she could; "I'm not going anywhere, is this why you're upset?"

"Yes and no, I thought when mom died, that was my fault, then you got sick, I thought that was my fault. I started to think I'm not supposed to have a mom and dad. Cause bad stuff happens to them on account of me."

"Josh my condition has nothing to do with you, I've had it for a while, I just didn't know about it until I found out I was going to have Rosie. You understand?"

"I think so, it's not my fault."

"That's right; it's not your fault or Uncle Harm's fault."

"Okay. Would it be okay if I call you both mom and dad?"

They both looked at each other smiling, "It's fine with us buddy if that's what you want to do."

"It is, cause Tommy and Rosie are my brother and sister, and you guys are their mom and dad. And well now you both are my mom and dad."

Harm and Mac smiled at each other, Harm moved a little bit closer to Josh and Mac, wrapping both of them in his arms. Slightly thanking god for his whole family.
