Hello again everyone! I am so sorry for not updating. But here is the bonus chapter of how Bruce got Extremis! I hope you enjoy!
It's been about six months since the invasion in New York and Bruce is in his apartment, watching Tony's mansion get blown up and half of it fall off the cliff into the ocean
"It's okay." Bruce thought to himself "He's not dead. He's not dead. He's been through way worse. He's not dead."
But what if he is?! What if he fell or something fell on him and he didn't have his suit on?! What if he's dead. His best friend gone forever.
"I have to know that he's alive. I have to know." Bruce thought as he left his apartment and started walking quickly to Tony's mansion
He stopped. There it was... completely destroyed...and Pepper was crying at the entrance... he's dead...
"No no he can't be dead." Bruce thought as he backed away slowly "He's not dead. He's not dead"
Then he heard very faint footsteps to his left and went to turn but then got injected with a needle before he could see who it was
"Ahhh..." Bruce groaned as he staggered into a wall and held the side of his neck and his vision started to get blurry
"Hmm." Bruce heard someone say after a few moments as he saw a blurry figure walk infront of him
"I would have thought that sedative would have knocked you out by now." The blurry figure said "Well...maybe you are stronger than I thought. That just makes you better."
"Ahhh..." Bruce groaned again as he fell to the ground
"Welcome aboard Doctor Banner." The person said and then Bruce blacked out
Bruce slowly opened his eyes and looked around the dark room he was in
"Where am I..."
Bruce went to get up but was stopped by restraints holding his wrists, ankles, and waist down and he yanked on them but they didn't break
"Hello Doctor Banner."
Bruce quickly turned to the voice to see a man walking towards him
"Good to see your awake."
"Where am I?" Bruce asked
"You're in my facility." He stated "You see Doctor Banner, I brought you here for a very special reason. You are one of the people chosen for Extremis, chosen for greatness."
"Who are you?" Bruce asked
"I'm sorry. Let me introduce myself. My name is Aldrich Killian." He said "I run a company called A.I.M...It's an organization that helps people. And right now Doctor Banner, I am helping you become better. You were hated and feared. But now with Extremis, you can have all the power you want."
"What if I don't want it." Bruce asked and Killian frowned
"I'm sorry to say but you don't have a choice." Killian said and then lifted his table up "Let's get started now shall we."
Bruce squirmed and pulled at the restraints on the table as Killian went over to a table and readied a huge needle
"This is Extremis." Killian stated as he brought over the syringe needle that had a glowing redish orange substance in it and showed it to Bruce "Amazing isn't it."
Bruce's eyes widened in fear at sight of the needle and started breathing heavily as he squirmed more, trying to get out of the restraints
"Don't be afraid Doctor Banner." Killian said as he held up Extremis "This will help you. If you survive that is."
"Usually we connect a ton of IV's to your arms and insert little bits of Extremis into you at a time so that it doesn't kill you." Killian stated "But your special, so in this case, we're going to give you this, a full dose...and then we're going to give you two more.."
Bruce's eyes widened as they started to turn green
"And don't worry. Once we put this in you," Killian said as he held up the needle "your friend won't come out for a while."
Then Killian grabbed Bruce's arm and stuck the needle into it and inserted Extremis, making Bruce scream and writhe on the table
And then when Killian removed the needle, the pain started
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!" Bruce screamed in pain continually as his skin got a glowing orangish tint to it
"Don't worry. The pain doesn't last that long." Killian said "But we have never really gave anyone a full dose at a time before so, I could be wrong."
Bruce writhed on the table and screamed in pain as everything around him started getting really hot
"You see right now is the most painful part. When Extremis bonds with your body. All your cells change. Your molecules change. Everything burns. It's fascinating really."
Bruce's screaming got louder as he started glowing a bright orange and everything around him that he was touching caught on fire and melted
"Hmm. Never seen that before." Killian said with interest "Probably because since we gave you a full dose you got really hot really fast."
"Well. I'll come back in an hour or two to give you your second dose." Killian stated as he walked to the door "But right now I have some business to take care of."
He doesn't know how long it's been. All he could feel was pain. He couldn't see or hear anything since Killian left a while ago. He doesn't even know if he gave him the second dose yet or not...or even if he gave him all three already...All he knows is that everything burns, and he just wishes for once in his life that the Hulk will come out. He doesn't care, just make the pain go away.
Everything burned and he just wishes it would end "Just please stop. Please. Just stop. I can't do this anymore."
He would die here and never see any of his friends again.
"I'm sorry..." Bruce said in his mind as tears escaped through the corner of his eyes "I'm sorry...Tony, Steve, Thor, Clint...Natasha...I'm so sorry..."
He would never see them again...He would never see Natasha again
Then another wave of searing burning pain went through his body and he spasmed on the table as he screamed in agony. He could feel everything burning, like he was being stabbed with a giant knife that was just left over an open flame
The pain faded, but he new the next wave was coming soon
He looked over at his arm and then his eyes widened in horror and fascination as he saw it glowing a mix of a bright redish orange and a bright green
Then a few moments later another wave of pain started, ten times worse then all the other ones, and then he screamed as everything went black
He woke up to explosions happening around him and he started to freak out as his breathing sped up and he yanked at the straps, and they started melting
Then the straps broke and he got up quickly and staggered into a wall, making a dent and melting the wall
Bruce started breathing heavily as he looked around him at the empty room, and he didn't even notice the ceiling collapse until he was on the floor and started screaming from the pain again
