"Goodnight." Tony said, and then they all closed thier eyes and went to sleep
Time switch to the morning
"Uhh..." Tony groaned as he opened his eyes and looked around, and then he got up and went out of the room and looked out the window, but then shut his eyes from the sun that just come up
"Bruce!" Tony said after a moment, quickly opening his eyes and turning and going back into the room towards Bruce who was still lying down on the bed
"Is he okay?" Clint asked, walking into the room with Rhodey as he rubbed his eyes
"Yeah. He's okay." Tony replied as he examined Bruce "Just a few scratches, bruises, and red marks...Probably from the building falling on him."
"Yeah." Clint said
"Is Steve okay?" Tony asked
"I haven't checked on him yet." Clint stated "I think he's sharing a room with Thor."
"Yeah." Rhodey said
"Okay." Tony said, and then walked out of the room and into the hallway, and Clint and Rhodey followed
"Hey." Tony said, turning and walking into the room that Steve was in
Steve turned towards him, Rhodey, and Clint "Hey." He replied
"How are you feeling?" Tony asked
"Good." Steve said "My side is still a little sore though."
"I can get you some Tylenol or something if that would help." Tony said
"Sure. Thanks." Steve replied
"Okay." Tony said
"Is Bruce okay?" Steve asked after a moment
"Yeah. Just a few scratches and bruises." Clint said
"Is he awake yet?" Steve asked again
"No." Clint replied "Not yet."
"He'll probably wake up in the next couple hours or so though. So how about we all go down to the lab and start working on the substance that can counteract Extremis." Tony exclaimed
"Okay." Steve said
"I'll get Natasha and meet you guys at the elevator." Clint stated
"Okay." Tony said "I'll come with to get Pepper."
"Okay." Clint said
"How long is Rhodey staying?" Clint asked Tony as they walked down the hallway to the room that Natasha and Pepper were staying in
"I don't know. At least long enough to help us make that substance." Tony exclaimed
"Yeah." Clint replied, and then they turned into the room where Natasha and Pepper were
"Hey." Clint said after they turned to him and Tony "We're going down to the lab to work on the substance that can help fight back Extremis. Are you guys coming?"
"Yeah. Of course." Natasha replied
"Okay. Come on." Clint said, and they all left the room and went back to the elevator
"Is he okay?" Natasha asked as they walked down the hallway to the elevator
"Yeah. He's fine." Tony replied
"Hey. Are you ready?" Steve asked as they walked over to him and Rhodey
"Yeah." Tony said, and then the elevator opened for them and they all got in and headed down to the lab
Scene switch to them getting out of the elevator and going into the lab
"Okay. There's computers around the room. I'll download all the information of his blood that we have to each of those computers and then we can start researching." Tony stated as he walked over to the sample of Bruce's blood, and then pulled it out of the machine
"Okay." Clint said
"And... It's downloaded." Tony stated after a few moments as he downloaded all the information from Bruce's blood into the computers. "Let's get to work."
About an hour later they had found the basic components that were in Extremis
"Okay. So the main component that Killian used to create Extremis is nanotechnology. He mostly used carbon nanotubes. He also used n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, chlorine trifluoride, calcium resonium, methanol, and calcium chloride. And a few other chemicals." Tony stated
"Is any of that dangerous?" Clint asked
"Some of these things can kill you if you ingest them." Tony said in reply
"Jeez." Clint said "How did all of that not kill him?"
"I think he altered the nanotechnology he used to make it so that it stabilizes Extremis so that you have a higher chance of surviving it." Tony exclaimed
"How many people didn't survive?" Steve said
"A lot of people didn't..." Tony replied
"Oh..." Steve said, looking down
"Let's get back to work." Tony said after a few moments
"Yeah." Clint agreed and then they continued working
"Okay. So I found that microbubble scavengers can remove carbon nanotubes from the body. And that nanotechnology can be destroyed by being burned or frozen." Tony stated after about another hour or so "But we also want to destroy Extremis and it has a lot of chemicals that are extremely hot. So we need something that is really cold that will be able to freeze everything of Extremis just enough to destroy Extremis and not him."
"Okay. What can freeze Extremis just enough so that it doesn't freeze him too." Clint asked
"I think if we put just enough microbubble scavengers, with just enough liquid nitrogen or liquid helium, and all these other components that I am sending you guys that will stabilized the substance, we should be able to make something that can destroy Extremis." Tony exclaimed as he typed stuff into the computer he was at
"How do we know how much we should use of everything?" Steve asked
"That is what artificial intelligence and computers and analyzers are for." Tony said as he typed stuff into his computer
"And there." Tony said after a couple minutes as he finished typing something "In like an hour or so we should know how much of everything we need to use. And then all we need to do is get it all and make the substance."
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as Tony told them this
"When will it be ready to give to him?" Natasha asked after a moment
"Tomorrow or tonight. Depending on how fast everything gets done." Tony said
"Yeah. Then we have to deal with Fury." Clint stated
"Yeah." Tony said "...I forgot about that... we'll deal with him tomorrow... let's just get Extremis out of Bruce."
"Yeah." Steve agreed
"Sir." Jarvis said after a moment
"Yeah Jarvis." Tony asked
"Doctor Banner has awoken and is requesting for you and the others." Jarvis stated
"Okay. Let's go see Bruce." Tony said
