Hello again! I'm sorry for not updating. And I hope that you are enjoying this story so far! Here is another chapter! I hope that you like it!
"Bruce. What's..." Tony said and then he followed his eyes to Steve's side which was wrapped up in bloody gauze "Oh..."
"Bruce...It...It wasn't your fault..." Tony said
Bruce looked away as tears started to gather in his eyes, and then he shut his eyes and bit his lips as tears started to fall down his face
"I'm sorry." Bruce said quietly
"It's okay." Steve replied "I'm fine. Really."
Bruce opened his eyes and glanced back at Steve's side, and then closed his eyes again and turned away "No you're not." Bruce stated "You're bleeding out and it might get infected if you keep it like that. You need to get it properly treated and wrapped."
Steve looked down at his side to see lots of blood soaking through the gauze "Oh." Steve said, and then looked back up at Bruce "Well um...Maybe you could treat it and wrap it up for me when we go down to the lab."
"Yeah." Natasha said "Just come down with us. You'll feel better."
"I don't know. I'm dangerous." Bruce replied, slightly opening his eyes but still looking away
"You aren't dangerous. Besides, Extremis only comes out when you're stressed, and the Hulk only comes out when you're stressed, hurt, or angry. And you made Tony build that Hulk proof cage down there remember. So if you're down in the lab with us you'll be fine." Natasha exclaimed but Bruce didn't reply
"...Please..." Natasha said
"...Okay." Bruce responded after a few moments, and then looked back up at them "I'll come down."
Natasha smiled "Thank you." She said
Bruce smiled back a little "You're welcome." Bruce replied
"Come on." Natasha said, and Bruce slowly started to follow them out of the room towards the elevator
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Bruce asked as they all got into the elevator
"It'll be fine." Natasha reassured Bruce, and the grabbed his hand, making him jump, but then he calmed down once he realized he wasn't burning her "I promise."
"Okay." Bruce said as the elevator doors closed and they headed down to the lab "Thank you Natasha."
"You're welcome Bruce." Natasha replied, and a couple minutes later they were at the lab
All of them walked out of the elevator and over to the tables with the computers, except Bruce, who stayed near the elevator, far away from them
Tony turned around, looking for Bruce "Bruce." Tony said once he spotted him standing by the elevator still "Come over here."
"I don't know..." Bruce said as he looked down at his feet and fidgeted with his hands
"Bruce. It's okay." Natasha said as she walked towards him "You won't hurt us."
"Yes I will." Bruce replied as he turned away from them
"Bruce, please, you have to trust us." Natasha said, stopping a few feet away from him
Bruce closed his eyes "It's not you I don't trust." He said quietly
"...Bruce. It's okay." Tony said after a moment, walking towards him, and then stopping a few feet away "We trust you. You won't hurt us. If you feel like you are going to transform or feel like something bad is going to happen, just tell us and we can get you into the Hulk cage. Just come with us over there and help patch up Steve...Okay?"
"...Okay." Bruce replied after a few moments as he slowly opened his eyes and looked up at them
"Okay." Tony said "Come on."
Tony and Natasha started to walk back to the tables where the others were at, and Bruce slowly followed behind them
"Hey. Are you okay?" Steve asked with concern as Bruce walked over to them slowly with Tony and Natasha
Bruce looked up at him "Yeah. I'm fine." He said as he stopped a few feet away from him and nervously looked around and fidgeted with his hands
"Can I...can I see your side." Bruce asked, and looked up at Steve
"Yeah." Steve replied and Tony helped him take the gauze off, and then he turned to the side and lifted his arm up so Bruce could see it better
Bruce quickly looked away once he saw it, biting his lip as he closed his eyes and tears started to fall down his cheeks
"I'm sorry." Steve said, putting his arm down
"No. You didn't do anything." Bruce replied quietly "I'm the one who should be sorry."
"It was an accident. It wasn't your fault." Steve said
"Is throwing a giant piece of metal at someone and almost killing them an accident?!" Bruce asked, opening his eyes and looking at them "It was my fault! I almost killed you!"
"But you didn't." Thor stated, taking a step towards him
"...I could have..." Bruce said, closing his eyes and looking away "I'm to dangerous."
"No you're not." Tony protested "I could kill as many people as you did if I wanted to. All of us are as dangerous as you. The only difference is you can't control it. But we can."
"I killed a lot of people when I sold my weapons to different people around the world that I didn't even know. And now I have a flying suit that I go around saving and killing people with, that I can also probably kill a bunch of innocence people with if I wanted to." Tony said and Bruce opened his eyes and looked up at them "Between you and me, I'm more dangerous."
"No, Tony-" Bruce started
"No Bruce. Listen. What I'm trying to say is you are not dangerous to us. We can handle ourselves. We can protect ourselves from the Hulk and Extremis. You have to trust us." Tony exclaimed, and Bruce looked away "Please."
Bruce closed his eyes "... I've seen what the Hulk has done to New York, and what he did to you guys. Do you think I can't see every punch and blow the Hulk has laid on you. Do you think I can't see every cut and bruise I gave you." Bruce said slowly, his eyes closed and his head turned away from them "Please...don't think that you're more dangerous then me, don't think that you're more of a monster then me, because you aren't. I have killed and injured more people then you guys ever have. I lose control so fast. If you guys weren't here to stop me...I could destroy New York... I was to dangerous before just with the Hulk. Now with Extremis..."
"...I just..I just don't think we should risk the Hulk coming out again..." Bruce stated
